Great place, everything you want for a weekend getaway, and plenty of stuff for the kids to have fun if you have to bring them with you.

Fantastic way to spend our 5 year old son's birthday. Waterpark was a blast, the service was impeccable and the facility was amazing. Bravo and keep up the great job!
Such a beautiful place and incredible experience. Made me never want to stay anywhere else ever again. At least stay a weekend to plan on taking in the scenery and all the amenities they have to offer. You just can't do everything in one day. I will be recommending to locals as a nearby weekend getaway.
It's a great place for a number of reasons, food, drink, and a great pool and gym
DISASTER! --. Show up for the Spa girl try with the family. We have known all week that the weather was going to be cool and wet. We finally finish the activities and decide that it would be good to go in the hot tub since it's still under 60 degrees. The Hot tub is at 72! They tell us it is fixed and getting warmer. We tough it out and after almost an hour it's still at 72! Server comes by and we ask ( the group of 12 adults) if we can get some hot chocolate for the inconvenience after all we paid to stay here. He comes back and says there are 6 hot chocolate packets in the entire place. We asked to see the manager and she never shows up. 5 other servers come by to see if we are still there, but do not come to us. The server that "went to get the manager" never came back. We are still here staying one more night wondering if anything will change. Expensive resort that we will not be able to enjoy and management doesn't seem to care!
My husband and I were here at the JW for a business trip while everyone else was there for the Valero Texas open (which we didn't know about ) lol. And I have to say our stay was an unforgettable one! The resort itself was beautiful and the staff amazing. In particular while having lunch at the Replenish, Ivette, our waitress was wonderful !!! She went above and beyond her excellent service and took the time out to give us insight Into the amenities of the resort. As mentioned before all the staff was amazing but Ivette was not only friendly but outstanding and will be looking for HER on our next stay at the JW!!!!
Incredible customer service and unbeatable pool and hill country views!
First off staff is friendly, rooms are clean and lots of open space and facilities for the family to enjoy. Now the bad parts, the restaurants are so under capacity, we booked a hotel package with breakfast included, when we actually got to the restaurant next morning at 9:20 we were told that there was a 35-40 minutes wait. Granted it was spring break and I can understand they are busy than usual, but what kind of 5 star hotel would let guests wait 40 minutes for breakfast? This is unheard of even for a 3 star hotel. The parking is extremely lacking too, during our stay we had to park all the way down at the conference hall car park and walked back up to the lobby, and there were cars just parked curb side everywhere near the hotel entrance. I am sorry but this is not how a Marriott should be run.
Five star service and beautiful grounds. Food is well done also. Great place for Families, but separate section/pool for adults. Very relaxing!
My wife and I just got back from a 5 day stay at this beautiful hotel complex. I have stayed in some of the best hotels in 35 different countries and let me tell you that you will be hard pressed to find a better hotel than JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country. The facility is magnificent, the staff is outstanding and the golf is fantastic. One day I played in a Pro-am tournament with one of the Senior pros while my wife went to the Spa for a hot rock massage for 2.5 hours. The rest of the time we ate and just enjoyed the whole experience. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
I really loved it!
Very good service, excellent food, very spacious and very clean rooms!
Super recommendable!
I give him a 100
Beautiful resort location, multiple bars and restaurants on site, always new areas to explore.
Tried booking a large party event couldn't get through to anyone to speak to but the voicemail in their catering dept, finally talked to the phone directory employee and they're very rude and unhelpful. will not be using this hotel based purely off of their initial customer service
Awesome place, but once your here ... Plan on staying awhile because nothing is in walking distance! Closest place to get a bite to eat or shop is about 20 minutes away and roughly a $20 cab ride.
It's a nice hotel. Neat layout and a cool pool. But Seriously, a why charge $75.00 for a $10.00 bottle of wine?
This is no joke, I literally was charged $75.00 for room service to deliver me a $10.00 bottle. Ridiculously overpriced. There is nothing within walking distance from this place to be able to go get something a little more reasonable. In order to make it out here from the hotel it took a $20 / ride. I suppose this would be a nice place if you had unlimited funding.
Wonderful resort with welcoming staff and beautiful grounds.
Beautiful resort. Staff was always available, helpful & friendly to work with. Excellent conference area fully met our needs & expectations.
Amazing place, I wish our stay would have been longer.the staff is so nice and helpful. The couples massage was unbelievable.
Nice grounds friendly staff just lacking a vibe not much to do here
Fun and relaxing at the same time, lots of options for everything. Their BBQ is great!
Wonderful experience. Husband and I came for our anniversary and when we checked in the upgraded us to a suite for no extra charge. We had a wonderful time, and it's a beautiful place!
We really liked it and enjoyed our time. We had to switch rooms because our first one smelled very strongly of smoke from the chimney near the window
I'm hoping this isn't the way future customers are treated. I had left 3 or 4 voicemails, with no response, in hopes to have my future wedding at this location. On July 13, I had not heard a response after 2 voicemails, so I decided to fight the traffic and drive out to the resort. I was about 5-10 mins away and figured I would call again and was told by staff that I should abort my plan because no would be able to assist me. I asked to speak to a manager and was told the front desk manager wouldn't be any help. On July 18, I spoke to Joanne and she was amazing. She apologized for the people who dropped the ball and promised me someone would be in contact with me within the next 24 hours. She's an employee that should be working events. Her customer service outshines other employees I had the displeasure of speaking with.
Nice hotel but 10th floor room was inundated by smoke from a fireplace burning on the first floor. It was so bad I can hardly breathe and had to be moved to another room. Outside the hotel it's five star.
Beautiful location, great food and drinks at the restaurants and sports bar. The pool is amazing as well as the golf courses!
I have been an avid customer at the JW Marriott San Antonio, until now. I will NEVER go back. They are thieves! I recently booked a stay for our anniversary, but because of a family emergency we had to cancel 6 days before. Having canceled in the past 3 days before, I didn't know their policy had changed. Nowhere on the email did it state their new policy of canceling 7 days before. When I noticed the draft on my bank account, I called, willing to fulfill my stay if they were going to charge me anyway. A very nice lady told me not to worry, we would get our money back. One month later, and multiple phone calls of being bounced around, still no refund or even a voucher for a future stay. Needless to say, my December plans will be cancelled. I will go to La Cantera instead! I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS PLACE! I will also tell all my friends and family not to give any Marriott our business in the future. They are not willing to work with you and steal your money!
Relax atmosphere, nice view and room service, lot of fun in the water park. Definitely a great place to stay for both business or leisure trip.
This was our first visit. We have a family of 6 w/ kids (9, 7, 4, 3). There is something for all the kids and was so much fun. The pool, rides, beach and activities was absolutely amazing. Rooms, food and staff are amazing. I highly recommend this resort
Was here for the Lonestar emmys. The food was delicious but one of the coordinators was very rude to some attendees when they couldn't find a seating in the general admission section stating that there were no more seats available for them and that they should have spent an extra $50 for reserved seating if they wanted a guaranteed seat. Obviously, paying to attend the event should come with a guarantee to a seat regardless of it being general admission or reserved.
Played 18 holes with some office-mates over the weekend and had a blast. Great venue for lost of social events. Restaurant is fantastic, both the food and the service. You won't be disappointed
I was very impressed by the staff and the hospitality that they showed me and my family.
Fantastic resort. Friendly staff and excellent facilities.
Amazing room's and beautiful grounds. The water park is huge!!!
Not FUN, HAD TO WAIT 45 MINS FOR A KIDS MAC & CHEESE FOR MY 2 YR OLD... and too EXPENSIVE FOR A FAMILY OF 5, spent $1000 for 2 nights/valet & resort fee! #NObueno #NOTgood #pasBON #NONbene #bu-hao
Great hotel, away from the city, with all the necessary infrastructure for your stay.
It's simply amazing from the rooms to the activities..
Service was spectacular as was the view. Very clean and we'll maintained conference rooms and break out rooms. All media and electronics worked as expected.
Definitely the nicest hotel in San Antonio. The location is kind of far from the city, but the rooms are nice but smaller than expected. Great patios, restaurants are good, all the employees were very presentable and welcoming. Wish there was a shuttle that would take you to your car.
Great resort! Many things to do in the summertime for kids!
The service was excellent despite the staffing issues post-COVID. Very family friendly, clean and food is great! Didn t get a chance to try all the restaurants since they were closed. But, we hope to be back soon.
A FANTASTIC place to leave the busy life of work and relax, the staff is so nice and welcoming they really made me feel comfortable throughout the whole experience.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I will never EVER EVER do business with Marriott again. We booked a stay for San Antonio for our anniversary. The day after we booked we fell on some hard times and had to cancel. The very NEXT day. (Within the 72 hours) which means no money would be taken from us we made sure of that. The day of our anniversary we had little money but enough to at least have dinner. We sat down ordered our food I checked our account and we had $2 in our account. We had to leave. Not only that no money for gas to get to work for the week NOTHING this hotel took everything. This was Saturday. It is now Wednesday. I ve been fighting with this hotel for days now to get it back. Every single day they told me they didn t take any money and that s AFTER sending screen shots of my account showing JW MARRIOT SAN ANTONIO on the description of where the money went. They finally today agreed that they took the money and I m getting a refund in 3 to 5 business days. Never again.
The setting is beautiful! The staff was very friendly & courteous. The Valero Texas Open was happening, but we didn't have issues with parking or disturbances. Enjoyed the lazy river very much.
The grounds are extremely nice, with a well landscaped pool for all ages, a liazy river and a few water slides which everyone can enjoy. A nice part is that they have strap on floaters for children that cannot swim. The staff are helpful and friendly. They lost a star due to the poor room service, ordered two cups of coffee a cup of tea and two glasses of milk, had 3 calls about it just to make sure the order was correct. One hour later two coffees arrive. If you can't get a simple order correct then how will they. A age complicated orders. Other failures, precheckin nothing of the app requirements were fulfilled. Would I recommend the hotel, yes with reservations.
We recently stayed here for a conference and had such a great time! The hotel has a Starbucks, sports bar, giant souvenir shop (kind of like a really nice mini CVS), tiki type bar at the pool, and a great restaurant for finer dining. They re VERY accommodating and knowledgeable about gluten allergies(which I have), as well. The water park was so much fun, too!
The rooms were so nice, too! They had lots of storage. Room service was great, as well.
The only con was that it is about half an hour from the Riverwalk. We went down to the Riverwalk one night and found that we actually enjoyed our hotel and the surrounding area more. Plus there s lots of road construction around the area making it harder to navigate downtown, but that will be finished soon.
If we re ever in San Antonio again, we re staying here
Wow, this place is HUGE. Also very well appointed. Often wondered if we were in a museum.
Love this place. My family absolutely adores this resort. Every year we say how we can't wait to come back.
This hotel is amazing, all the staff is very attentive and generous, special mention to the housekeeping Yailet did a great job of cleaning, is very polite and attentive to the requirements of the guest no complaint regarding her and other workers that I met as Giovanni is very Attentive and recommend good drinks and food !!! In general I love visiting this hotel for its good service and its great amenities !! My family has a lot of fun every year when we visit !!
Terrible service, inexperienced staff. Sloppy accommodations. Pools were dirty and trash was everywhere. Food was tasteless and greasy, overpriced on every level. Management was especially incompetent and looks like it's the bottom of the barrel for the evening/night shift "managers" spend your money elsewhere, this was def not worth the hype and expense
Awesome pool with a lazy river and water park quality water slide!
What an incredible place. The water park and pools were delightful. Views from the terrace of our room were spectacular. Restaurants offered something for everyone's taste. Most of all, the service was unbelievably great.
Beautiful! Awesome staff. Course is in great shape always!
We are a family of four, with a 4-year old and a 7-year old. This is the second time I ve stayed at a JW Marriott and been completely impressed with their level of service. I don t know what they say or how they train their employees but it s working! There was not one rude or unhelpful person on the entire property. (Sadly, running into people like that is something that is not uncommon in the hotel industry..) On top of that, the resort grounds are meticulously maintained. The many pools and lazy river are pristine. As if they were just built yesterday.
The rooms were updated with modern decor. The website photos are a little outdated. (At least as of a couple months ago.) Even the tv in the room was impressive! Prob about 65 and has Bluetooth connection so you can use your own Netflix acct to watch shows/movies.
Food from room service was crazy good! However, food choices around the resort were limited. The exact same menu/food items were at the poolside outdoor grill as the indoor legit sports bar/restaurant, which was surprising to me. Didn t try Cibolo Moon. We did the Sunday brunch at 18 Oaks. AMAZING! They were out of oysters that day so that was the only disappointment. Overall, the quality of the food and service were superb but the choices were limited, given the price (~$50/person). We heard from our rideshare driver that local folks drive all the way out to the resort to have this brunch so it is something rather unique for this area.
The only thing I would request and would bring us back in a heartbeat (and Marriott, I hope you re reading!), is a kid s club during the day or at least more guided kid s activities on rainy days. On the one day it rained, I felt like all 285 kids at the resort were crawling out of their skin with boredom and there is only one tiny arcade room and a ping pong table.
Overall, this resort is one of the best we ve been to as a family!! We will def be going back the next time we re in TX.
JW Marriott has an amazing Lazy River and fitness center. The food was delicious. The only strange thing was that the cleaning crew replaced our towels even when we hung them up right next to a sign that said, "Help us support our planet by hanging your towels so they can be used again." Not necessarily a bad thing, but I'm not a fan of insincere platitudes. Overall phenomenal place for a corporate training event.
Very nice resort. Extremely spacious property and well appointed rooms. The main issue I had was the lack of sound proofing in the rooms. I was awakened multiple times during my stay by people walking in the hallways. At night, you can literally see the light from the hallway under and to the sides of the door. Other than that issue, it is a very nice resort.
Nice water park with lots of chairs. Lots of walking and plants. Expensive but probably nicest resort in central Texas. Lots of staff and a couple different restaurants. They even have a gift shop, Starbucks and ATM.
This place is amazing to say the least. They have pools, water slides, bars, restaurants (more than 1), great views, and amazing customer service. I would also like to add that if you sign up for their silver status membership, which is free, they will send you an assortment of goodies. It was a great surprise that we were not expecting.
Great hotel. Location is nice and far enough away from the population.
Such a great hotel!!! Either for business or pleasure, delicious food... A bit pricey but worth it!
Beautiful location, excellent food. I visited for a conference and the facility was really nice. . Clean bathrooms.
