Super nice hotel, so much stuff to do on site that you never have to leave and you'd never be bored or do everything there. I went for a 4-day conference and had a great time provided to me by the hotel staff.

Was here for a week for a conference. Nice place, good food, staff were great but everything is overpriced. Lots of kids running around which is fine but would be nice if there was a business floor or adult only floor for those travelling without kids.

It's a gorgeous hotel. It's enormous and has every amenity you could want. The staff is incredibly warm and friendly and they personalize the experience. The only downside is that the location feels really isolated.

Incompetent staff. Our room was not ready and they COULD NOT tell us when our room would be ready. Now we are just sitting here waiting for who knows how long. Have already been waiting over an hour.

My family and I had not been anywhere (not even a restaurant) since the quarantines in April. We decided to take a trip And trust this property with our safety for 2 reasons... 1. I used to work for corporate Marriott International for 5 years and knew JW Marriott s standard of excellence, and 2.) because I was told over the phone by their reservations team that they were only accepting 25% occupancy at the property. We ve been to this property in the past and thought that at 25% occupancy there is more opportunity to social distance from other hotel guests but still enjoy ourselves and the property. That was NOT the case. There s is NO WAY this hotel is at 25%... it s more like 90%!!!! At the pool there was not an empty cabana, an empty pool chair and the pool was PACKED!!! We are paying over $400 per night and expected to feel safer. We are now locked up in our room and afraid of using the waterpark and common areas with the possibility of contracting Covid-19 from another guest since no one wears masks in the pool areas. I also spoke to other hotel guests that were voicing their concerns and they were told the hotel was only allowing 50%, which is inconsistent and also false.

Also, our room was no cleaned for the 1st day of our stay, eve though we requested a room clean before 8:00 that morning. By the evening (about 7:00 pm) we called to let the front desk know. Then at 9:48 pm housekeeping showed up wanting to clean our room, which woke up my sleeping kids.

The only positive was the food and beverage service. Everything was great and our dinner at 18 oaks was exceptional. I am really disappointed because we loved our previous stay at this property and really expected to feel safe and protected during these uncertain times. I just wanted to post in case a family was debating whether or not to go at this moment or wait until next year when Covid is more under control. I would have waited if I would have known the truth!

Amazingly beautiful resort! Everything about this place made you feel like you were in a special place. The waterpark was really perfect, with spaces for everyone. The restaurants served delicious food, and there were many spaces to sit and relax next to a fire. Would love to visit again!

It's us again, a last minute decision of going on a short trip, this time is for 4th of July celebration!

Two of our families decide to come visit JW Marriott Hill Country of San Antonio. Due to 4th season, the rooms were about $650 each, and that was quite shocking to see while booking, but if you calculate down to per person, which you get a hotel room to stay and it also includes 8 am to 8 pm water park access that is right out of your room, this doesn't seem to be much anymore.

Because of our Elite status with Marriott, we were able to use our upgrade coupons (only if there is availability) to upgrade the regular King bedroom, to a really huge suite , and both of our rooms (1390 & 4390) are at the Far East end corner of the lot facing the water park!

Both rooms had it's own pros and cons, and we did enjoy our staying with this resort.

Because my daughter had swimming meet on Saturday, so we were only stay for one evening, or else we would continue staying and have fun with our friends till Saturday!

The outdoor water park is also amazing! There are many tube slides, vertical drop slides, lazy river, kids slide pool, beach alike area, and a pool with amazing look over the golf course that surrounded the hotel.

We had BBQ dinner at the courtyard looking out to the Hill Country golf course, it was a very nice experience of dining at outdoor on the grass, only downside was they run out of meat because of the whole hotel was packed with a lot of guests, and everyone got to eat!

Room service was great! Especially the cleaning lady who cleaned our room, she was really friendly and very helpful when we needed her assistant.

Check out time was a bit confusing!

When we checked in, the front desk told me that since they are resort, by using our status, we can checkout at the latest of 2 pm, instead of 4 pm, later on next morning I received a message asking us to checkout before 11 am, then when I called the front desk, the customer service says 1 pm is what she can do. So I was all confused of receiving different information from different employees!

Lucky that my friends have one more evening to stay, so we used their room to store our luggage, so kids can have more fun before we leave, and they could have place to take shower after the pool activities.

Overall I would suggest everyone to come and enjoy the fun at this hotel, even at rate of $300, it is still worth for family of 4 to visit.

The hotel is beautiful! We where there for drinks and we take the kids to watch the Christmas lights show. The service was great, very nice drinks and the kids had so much fun dancing along with the lights.

Pricey but beyond full service

Pricey but beyond full service
This place is definitely not cheap as others have said. The staff here are phenomenal though. I'll give one example. I stayed at this resort for a conference. When the pool manager, DJ, found out that we would be too busy during the day to enjoy the lazy River and slides, he insisted on keeping them open later one night so that our group could enjoy them. There were several others instances where the staff truly went beyond expectations.

Don t get me wrong, the grounds, the room, the views, the pool are amazing........ however, if you re going to eat, save your money and order Buffalo Wild Wings in or Golden Corral. The sports lounge is awesome to watch games but food is meh. And the buffet smells great, but it s not worth it.

Stayed at the hotel for three days for a professional conference. The staff was beyond excellent, always helpful and enthusiastic. The grounds are stunning and the rooms were beautiful. The entire conference was smooth and simple. Thank you!

My wife and I won a two night stay voucher from JW Marriot at a BMW of San Antonio event. We went ahead and used the voucher on 7/5/19 - 7/7/19. Now, a week later, there is a charge on our credit card for the full amount of $1,400.00+ . We tried contacting the resort and they transferred us over to some third party site to file a dispute. I told them that if I knew that this was going to happen, I would have not used the voucher at all. They seemed to be giving me the insinuating that we didn't have a voucher at all. They asked us if we have the voucher with us, which we don't because they asked for it and kept it during check-in. We are now awaiting the 'dispute' to be processed as they conduct their investigation to see whether or not we will get put money back. For such a well respected hotel, I cannot believe they are treating customers this way.

Beautiful place, wonderful scenery. Staff was friendly and helpful, but was a little slow on drink refills and bringing extras (butter, salad dressing, etc.) Food was good, not great, but large portions.

I have participated in the remodeling of the 1000 rooms and they have been luxurious, all the rooms have phenomenal views of gardens, the beautiful swimming pools and the majestic golf course.

We recently had a company Christmas party at the River Bend Pavillion. It was a long walk but it was scenic - even at night - and well worth it. The venue was huge with a large dance floor. The food and bars were presented well. The food was amazing! I loved the table set ups and the quality and ambiance. It just made our company party so much more grand. This location for the J.W. Marriott is gorgeous. I would go just for a date to walk around. I love the way the hotel is set up, although I have never gotten the chance to stay the night here. Maybe one day I ll win a couple nights at the resort. I ve been here once before with my parents and partner. I would love to visit again and perhaps get a chance to enjoy the resort with the water rides and maybe some spa time.

Location was good! Wish they had more nature walks or maybe even clay pigeon shootings or more outdoors stuff besides just golf. Rooms were clean and cozy! Service was super nice! Food was spectacular!

We have been here a few times, but this time topped every stay before (shout out to whatahotel and the Luminous package): we got upgraded, had toys delivered to the kids (they were ver the moon), had special snacks delivered to the room. The manager was attentive and the lady at check-ins (I forgot her name) was extremely professional. The property was well kept. The rooms were cleaned. The pools, slides, lazy river and hot tub were amazing. I should add that the food/restaurant were also great. The area around the property is being developed more but the property itself still has that secluded feel. When we think of a staycation, we couldn t think of any other properties but JW Marriott. Keep up the fantastic work! And, thank you for your hospitality.

We stayed here because we heard all the hype about this place. The room temperature didn't go under 78 degrees, which made it extremely difficult to sleep .... maintenance entered the room at around 12AM, attempted to fix the issue, and rather than moving us to a different room, brought in a large , very loud box fan in the event the AC still didnt work.. needless to say i would have probably had much better sleep just staying at a motel 6. Its very sad when you pay for a 5 star hotel and get a 2 star experience....We were offered a $50 credit due to the inconvenience, but we asked 2 different employees that confirmed we would...but never saw the credit. That's was the first and last time we stay there. Save your money.

The staff here is wonderful and the facilities are pristine. I stayed here one night to celebrate my wife s birthday and visited the spa, waterpark, 18 Oaks restaurant and Cobolo Moon restaurant. Everything was great and the staff made for a very personal experience. Worthy of 10 stars.

Either unable or unwilling to assist a disabled person with a wheelchair. Despite being told multiple times that an associate would bring a chair and transport no one has yet showed . 1 hour and counting.... So disapointed....

The hotel premises are beautiful. The room was clean and comfortable. It was also clean, including the bathroom and well equipped. We went to take a breather from the stay at home orders. It was nice to see people wearing their masks indoors. The waterpark was not crowded and people kept 6ft apart in the waterslide lines. Also, families stayed together and as separate as possible. The staff sprayed sanitizer to the chairs, but I was the designated chair reservator for our family. So, I cleaned all our chairs and tables with Clorox wipes before our children came to the park. The food was pricey at the waterpark, but that is expected in a hotel. It was tasty. Drinks were plenty at the bar. Bathrooms in the waterpark were also clean. Our kids stayed at the beach pool most of the time. So remember to bring toys to play in the sand and water. Goggles are highly recommended because the pools are heavily chlorinated. There are restaurants nearby and delivery is available. All in all a great escape!

The hotel rooms were very nice and clean and came with anything you would need (Except a microwave but that might have just been in my room). The resort had its own little water park with tall slides and no lines. Even the lobbies had chess and checker tables. It was paradise.

Rooms were great but the food and service was atrocious. It was a busy weekend and the staff was not sufficient to accommodate the number of guests. Food orders were wrong, food was cold, or did not arrive. Never again

Although i only stayed one night i can say the room was great and loved the events in the lobby. It is also great that they have a whole waterpark in the back along with a golf course and spa there is a lot to do here, if you don't think so you can go down to San Antonio because it is so close.

We absolutely love this Marriott resort. In the winter there are Christmas lights outside and lots of family friendly activities all day long. The summer here is a blast with the lazy river and adults only pool area. Could not recommend enough!!
