We had dinner at the Mikado restaurant. The food was phenomenal. The chef was very entertaining and very good at his job. The other wait staff were very helpful when they were speaking with you, but long periods would pass without them coming by. Everyone at the table had to wait a long time for a water refill and then later for the check. Overall, tremendous food and chef experience, but wait staff could be more attentive.

We spent 5 nights here. The kids enjoyed the pools, mini golf, and the boat ride. The pools were very nice. Cute shops, beautiful property, super friendly staff. We only tried the Rockwood Grill and the food was very good. Enjoyed our stay.

A special thank you to Veronica for helping me through the process of getting some help with a wicked cold that came on suddenly. Edwin from Room service came up to our room with hot water, lemon and orange tea, some lemons and a few jars of honey. While he was setting everything on my table Melissa from Customer Service and Tamra from Housekeeping wished me a speedy recovery. I truly appreciated the remarkable service and personal care from everyone!

I have been going to the JW Marriott for the past 6 years and they are the most efficient people I know everyone there is so nice and so kind from the bell guys to the housekeepers to the front desk everyone is just beautiful I went there for Women's Conference through our church and I thoroughly enjoyed myself

We were given a room that overlooked the golf course and it was quiet and out of the way. We had a good time in both the little pool and the big one. I'd say the big pool has more people. The Starbucks on site charges for water, which you shouldn't get because there's free water stations around the hotel, but there it is. The line itself was long but it was pretty quick getting our stuff afterwards. There's so many birds!

I was very impressed by the manner in which all staff were trained to order excellent customer service. From the bell hops, over the phone orders, room changes, or concierge - all were courteous and helpful.

The resort itself is situated on a well-groomed golf course with its own river they offer free gondola tours on and sweeping mountain views all around. With several pool areas, complete with cabanas and umbrellas, several restaurants, a day spa, and its own night club this resort is one you don't have to leave.

Don't let the grounds and the high price fool you. It's an outdated facility with a lot of staff standing around waiting to be tipped. Wow, did you count all of the guys standing out in front grabbing people's bags without being asked and then expecting to be tipped. Yuck !

Unfortunately we ate at their "nice" restaurant our first night there. Wow, you get bette service at a Jack-in-the-box. It is just so over-priced. Wine by-the-glass cost 125% of the retail price of the entire bottle - we checked while we were there because we had about an hour between when we ordered our food and when it finally arrived. Terrible !

Avoid this place unless you just hate your money and want to throw it away.

Massive property! You would have to walk at least 15 minutes to go anywhere out of ur room.
Liked that there was a full Starbucks inside the lobby. Amazing view. Little old decorations and structures.

Excellent staff and facilities. Food was good although served outside which does present more challenges to keep it warm. The resort fell a bit short on logistics when we had a large group of 1500 people, they would close the buffet down while people were still standing in line. The flamingos are so peaceful to watch and I recommend checking out the aviary.

Absolutely gorgeous property. Nice pools, mini golf andboat rides for the kids etc, Probably the best service I have ever received. Everyone was friendly, kind and prompt. I can't say enough about how welcome they made us feel. That's the good. I would give 5* if that was the only criteria. Now why did I give 3? Firstly the beds were really small. Not even 'full' size, when I was expecting 'queen' for nearly $300 a night, that is unacceptable. Next, they were extremely uncomfortable. Very hard. We booked 3 rooms, every single person had a terrible night sleep because of this. I even had back and hip pain every morning we were there. Next, the room was freezing cold. I adjusted the thermostat several times but it remaind cold. But the other two rooms were fine. I have stayed at many Marriott properties, and this JW was an absolute let down. If I was giving stars on the room it would be 1*. Lastly, I just saw that they charged over $600 (three multiples of $200) on my credit card, on top of a few triplicates of smaller amounts. I always ask if we have any extra charges when I check out, and I was assured we did not. These unexpected and unwelcome charges really top off every thing and leave a very bad taste.

I was so excited to spend my final night in the Palm Desert at the JW. Like I was so juiced at the prospect be poolside, have a tasty drink, get a facial at the Spa, check out the nightclub even maybe a lil boat ride. I walked in their beaming with excitement, which later turned into disappointment. We arrived at 1:30pm which was early checkin is at 4pm. They took my number to text me when the room was ready. We expected to wait, get some drinks and eat at one of the eat at one of the restaurants on site. We had drinks, in the lounge the service was top notch. Arround 2pm we still haven't gotten the text so we went out to the pool my bf had swim trunks in a bag he was carrying, I on other hand had nothing but my purse, and did not want have go through all my luggage in concierge area to get swimwear. We are poolside s now 4pm checkin time, and I've not received any calls or texts. I walk back inside stand in line, finally get to the front and ask. The room is not ready, I booked one and prepaid for a room with a poolside view,(which at booking I paid more for), balcony and lower level. I asked when the room would be ready and was told they could not say. I was given a 40 credit, towards the drinks we had earlier at the bar, and went back out to wait. Long story short its hot at the pool, I'm pretty frustrated now its 5pm, check in was at 4. So its now it's been 55 minutes and still no text I'm so annoyed and about to walk back and complain when while walking at 5:01pm I get the message that the room is ready. I get back in line one of the staff recognized me from the 2 attempts earlier and pulled me out line to elite area so they can issue the room keys, and get our luggage. By the time we are in the room its nearly 5:30pm. So the whole ordeal killed my happy beaming mood, my bf is trying hype me back up because I was looking forward to the stay.

We had a very rocky start they did give me a $40 credit but honestly it was all stressful. That's why i'm not giving 5 stars. But the facility was amazing, great restaurant, beautiful setting. I did get to float in the pool for like 3 hours once we got into the room and, I could get dressed in pool attire. Dinner was amazing we partook in the seafood buffet. The room was clean, and cool and all of the staff were extremely welcoming and professional. Will come back hopefully with no issues next time.

First I want to thank and acknowledge the friends at JW Marriot at the front desk Ozzy and Melanie. I was having a small issue with my room and they were able to help me clear up the confusion. I appreciate their patience and careful diligence in guiding me. It was my first time at the hotel and it won't be my last. I look forward in seeing them again.

Also want to give a big shout out to the gentleman at the front desk working Monday night for providing the waters, that means a lot to us for your great service. Josh, Mason and Ooze!

Thank you!

SUPER GREAT EXPERIENCE! 10 STARS

Loud, unorganized, super busy, and old. Absolutely a mess. The first night we were woken up from drunk people multiple times as they ran down the halls and knocked on doors. Then we were placed in the main building with the atrium. I have never been in such a loud hotel. We requested a room change and were downgraded into a smaller room without our bed type. Then the next day they were supposed to move us in the morning to what we actually paid for. They had us pack our bags and never called as promised for the move. Finally in the afternoon we approached them only to be told they didn t have a room for us. This has been such a joke. I would never recommend this place especially for $479 per night. If I wanted to play musical beds I could have just chosen a motel 6.

Great.

Omggg!!! I really enjoyed my stay here at the JW Marriott Desert Springs for my 21st birthday celebration but you should at least offer free continental breakfast: fruit, bagels, orange juice, milk and cereal, coffee and donuts. Makes it a little more convenient for the guests.

I had a wonderful time at this resort. All the staff were so nice which is rare during high stay volume times. The rooms are decently sized with large bathrooms. There were also some nice views from various parts of the hotel. I do recommend their breakfast buffet which was very satisfying. I recommend also booking ahead for decent room rates.

Beautiful property outdoors. Nothing special inside. Was told $35 a day resort fee was being waved yet it was on my bill. Also hotel took large authorizations on my CC but staff said they hadn't. Elevators are poorly located. Won't be returning here after my 5 night stay. Food options were disapointing. There are better options in Plam Dessert to stay.

Great hotel for a couple's getaway. The pools and atmosphere (and pool side prices) are very Vegas-esque. Hotel and grounds are really nice and well kept. Also went to the spa for a couple's massage, highly recommend.

Pretty place. But older building. My air condition didn't work properly. But staff was helpful and friendly. Also, not enough elevators...you have to walk a long way to get wherever you're going
