Beautiful resort with lots of walking areas. The room was a bit noisy (I was given a room right near the elevator), and could also hear the noise from the cars. Pool areas were beautiful! Conference areas and meals were great!!!
We've stayed here a number of times for staycations, and it is without question our favorite resort in Phoenix. It never feels crowded, the rooms are beautiful, updated, beds comfy, TV huge, and the staff is spot on. If you are searching for a cheap staycation, this isn't it. On the other hand, if you really want to get away, and feel relaxed, rejuvenated, then this is the place! Will continue to stay at this marvelous resort.
This is one of the nicest places in Phoenix area with a golf course, spa, restaurant
Dropped off my cousin. The valet we're polite. I drove away. Looks nice though.
The staff were amazing and very helpful and the room was absolutely gorgeous.
Great views, amenities and staff. Enjoyed every moment!
Beautiful hotel! The lazy river is such a fun treat. Relaxing and very well taken care of. The grounds overall are just lovely. Ordered room service and had a delicious meal in the comfort of our very nice room. Clean and super comfortable. My only complaint: had to wait a LONG time at the front desk to check in. It was hard to tell exactly where I should be standing to be helped next and was passed over a few times by other guests.
Great service at this 5 star resort! Beautiful grounds, relaxing and social distancing was top notch!
Don't go here on New year's Eve or if it's raining.
Had a good time. Was clean. $8 bottled beer was kind pricy for no reason.
Got a fair discount by phoning in my reservation and accepting a room under renovation (normal room, just no balcony). The booking agent made a huge error that led to us being woken up at 6:00am by construction crews. The front-desk staff (Katelyn G.) was outstanding for remedying the situation immediately. The facilities were wonderful and the rooms are lavish. I only dropped a star because the parking is half-a-mile away and nobody will give you a ride unless you valet.
Pros:
-Everything is beautiful
-Bathrooms are large with many mirrors and a "show" shower
-Lazy river pool
Cons:
-Parking is excessively far and nobody will give you a golf-cart ride to your car
-Only once did staff open the door for me despite being posted at all the entrances
Advice:
-Don't settle for the discounted renovation rooms. Construction workers will be banging-away at 6am on your balcony.
-Request Katelyn G at the front desk. She saved our vacation and deserves a raise.
I went for the Phoenix grand prix taekwondo championships and stayed the night the room I got was very nice for the price it was definitely living up to its name as a resort, I would go again.
Wonderful venue, enjoyed my time in meetings and dining on site.
Incredible resort. I love the outdoor seating with fires . The brunch at the hotel restaurant is amazing, the whipped cream is super fresh and real. Amazing service from the cleaning/room service team. Stunning lobby and the in house Starbucks is a nice bonus! I didn't try the spa but it looks incredible.
Beautiful architecture. Fantastic pool setup. Great place to stay for business or vacation. My favorite Marriot in Phoenix
Luxury and wonderful clean place to stay lazy around if you got the monies
There is no better place in AZ. Food, atmosphere, service it's amazing. Live this place, green coming for 4 years now
Terrible experience here last Summer. Front desk checked us into occupied room. Replacement room was in a loud location making sleep nearly impossible. Service at water park was almost non existent. Place was so crowded with a large business group, it's obvious this hotel is a poor choice for a family staycation. Left feedback for general manager after stay and received no response. My business obviously not important to Marriott at this property
Room out dated period! Given a room 3442/so removed 2 different elevators used till near lobby. Beware if you use a discount they put you on a room view looking at weeds and call it a desert garden. For that no patio used as I don't care to view weeds. Asked for nice room and view got that. Bill overcharged when asked they could not locate.. As Rewards mber to get free appetizer at restraunts.. Never offered orvknown till in room reading card left. Totally have to ask watch as they disregard normal people..clearly! Wasted time and money..now charger left on room..let's see if I get it back!! Guessing not... So over it!!!
This place is great. Five stars for every category.
Overall a very nice hotel. The only problem was that the parking lot is so far away from the hotel. You definitely need to pull up front and drop your luggage before parking.
Extremely service oriented, though mistakes in execution that could be avoided. Very nice grounds.
Love this resort. Highly recommend families to come here. This place gets packed when annual events come into town.
This is absolutely the best hotel I have ever enjoyed. The staff and management is incredible! Definitely, sign uip food the club! You will not regret it! My family asks to go back to this "legit" hotel constantly!! The pools and ambiance are par none. Really! You will love it... kids or no kids. The services for kids are spectacular.
Love this place for conferences and meeting clients. Beautiful, elegant and close to everything~
My favorite place to unwind in the Phoenix area. Worth the price tag for an epic desert getaway
Hotel was really nice. Too bad the housekeeping service didn't match.
kids loved the lazy river. nice that they provide the tubes
The staff is super friendly, the food we had there was amazing and the property was beautiful and had everything we needed for the meeting we had there.
THIS SHOULD BE RATED A 5 STAR RESORT !!!!!! Still the best in NORTH PHOENIX / SCOTTSDALE Area....
This hotel was a pleasant find to my surprise although I paid over $350/night for a two night stay. The hotel is in a great location across the street from the Phoenix Live and the accompanying Grammy Museum, ESPN and Staples Center. It's a short 7-10 minute walk from the Metra train. There's a jazz lounge at the hotel on Saturday evenings, which has its pros and cons depending upon your interest. The front desk attendant when I checked in was personable, but I didn't find the doormen and others to be quite as friendly upon returning back and forth to the hotel. I didn't rent a car during this trip, but there's a lot adjacent to the hotel. It's downtown Phoenix so be prepared to be for parking should you decide to drive
Microchip Technology is running a big, one week technical conference at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort with ~700 attendees and 300 employees every summer. The conference center is well equipped and even with more than 250 sessions over 5 days we still don't exceed the capacity of the conference center.
Every year I enjoy the various convenient corners, restaurants and bar to sit down with attendees and colleagues for discussions and the facilities like the pool and fitness areas to recharge for the next day.
Would like to stay there with the family one day.
The resort is beautiful. Drinks and food are expensive, but it's to be expected. Lazy river is awesome to float around. Will be back.
Fantastic family resort in a beautiful desert setting
Big resort with opulent finishes. Restaurants are good, not spectacular and there are some very nice amenities (golf &pickle ball) and retail shops. I was there for a Conference and found the room big and the AV really good. There were more birds in the ballroom than I have ever seen! It was a little distracting with them flying around the room. My sleeping g room was great with spa amenities. I would stay again.
A beautiful, Grand hotel. I wish I had time to check out their amenities but the conference kept us busy. The outside space used for the conference was a wonderful touch. The bathroom in the room were very nice and clean.
Excellent food and event staff for my 350 plus event
Textbook example of a resort,,only problem is,,,its way out there
My family and I decided to do a staycation here this week. We had a wonderful day by the pool but when we enter the room this evening, the room was infested with cockroaches and crickets. We are not very happy, we wanted to speak to a manager but no manager on duty. We asked if we were able to switch room but the front desk said no. They said they would clean the room, the man they sent up was very rude, he was laughing at my family and I while cleaning. My son is in tears and doesn t want to return to another hotel again. Poor management!
Love this place, incredible service, experience as always
Best family resort in the Phoenix metro area hands down!
A great hotel in an amazing facility overall. And the staff top notch
Greatest place. Please come by. You won't be disappointed.
Had a birthday celebration at Roy's for my father's 70th. Our servers were very patient with 4 crazy kids and the chef was also willing to accommodate my father's meal request.
We got married here a few years ago and have stayed here several times since. The property is beautiful and staff very friendly. They have a lot of nice places to eat and it's a few mins from lots of shopping and nightlife in N. Scottsdale.
Nice location and amenities. Good restaurants. Conference floor space is huge.
We checked in to the JW Mariott at Desert Ridge in Phx, before we got to the hotel I called to let them know we have service animals and that we need a floor level with a patio. They asked me what were the service animals for and I explained they were for my wife's anxiety. I asked them to make note of it on our acccount so when we check in they will see I called prior so there's no confusion which was never done.
Once we got to the hotel and checked in I had to explain the info above, the manager at the time came and discussed it with my wife and allowed us to check in.
We then left and went to dinner for her Birthday and we returned our keys didn't work so I walked back to the reception desk and they advised me that they can't reactivate my key cards until I spoke with security but wouldn't tell me why. Once security arrived they advised me that the dogs were barking and they had to reaccomidate a guest and move them. I explained there was a loud party next to our room which is why they were barking and they explained they have a no pet policy which I then explained they are service animals and then he stated that they only accommodate service animals for PTSD. I asked why didn't they tell me this information when I called prior to checking in or even when we were checking on with the dogs? Security said the manager gave the wrong info and we were forced to leave at 3am.
This ruined my wife's birthday weekend and I'll never stay at any Marriott locations in the future.
Absolutely beautiful. Sense of community in social spaces. Grounds are spectacular. Instance peace when visiting
Amazing place. Incredible how green the resort is when it s in a desert environment.
Loved the 'LPGA Bank of Hope Founders Cup' tournament.
Went for fathers day breakfast with family. Stone grill is a wonderful resturaunt.food was quite delicious . Absolutely stunning resort. Parking was not clear, but otherwise the place is immense and beautifully designed. I took the kids to walk around after breakfast and found the outdoor grassy area. They have bananas trees growing outside the pool area. Banana trees! Anyway, I have made it a goal to take my fiance here for a quiet getaway. Not sure when as the price matches the decor, but would be worth it! A must see. They even have a kids "club" area with activites to keep kids entertained for a few hours while parents get away.
If you are wondering what to do with part of that bonus check, and your retirement fund is already flush, maybe it's time to spoil yourself a little. Excellence in service, golf and landscape. Go ahead, live large.
Very nice property. The restaurant was a bit loud for conversation. The way the ceilings are designed on the lower floor it amplifies and carries even the faintest of sounds. If you want to hear, not recommended. If you want to have a great time in a classy establishment, highly recommended.
This place is paradise! Great meeting spaces, great food, beautiful pools and grounds.
We have been here several times, and this last time we were very disappointed in the quality of food for my the pool concession stands. Our first day there we ordered pool side the chicken strips we got were so hard we could hardly bit into them.
The second day of your trip my roommate ate some French fried via pool side and within 2-3 hrs by the time we went back to the room to order dinner she had strong stomach pains and then threw up and was sick the rest of the night. No one else got sick but her, she was the only one who at the fries.
Other than that our experience is always stellar. Just beware ordering food outside pool side.
Great breakfast brunch buffet. Nice lazy pool River with plenty of spots to sit out in sun. Lots of great options on patios and in lobby for group gatherings
Came here for drinks and then ate at Roys. Love the atmosphere and, and of course the food was amazing. Only drawback is the # of kids in swim suits walking through the lobby and bar area...would be better if it was separated. Gets kind of loud when full so not a "cozy" place
Went for dinner at at Stone Grill. Service and food was great.
This resort is amazing!! The Spa, pool & food options were perfect!! I can't wait to return!!
Beautiful resort with great clean rooms, nice amenities and beautiful views.
This was my first time visiting and for a graduation. The property is gorgeous, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be returning whenever I'm in Phoenix.
Great Marriot Property. Staff was very pleasant and the rooms were clean, cool and comfortable. (The 3 c's?) Excellent service at thr pool. This was a staycation for us as we are local and I will not hesitate to stay again.
Staying at the Marriott canyon Villas (almost next door) and we have easy access to this beautiful hotels pool area and restaurants. Quite a bonus. Really top notch in all the details and service.
Clean, beautiful, great service, comfortable beds, ect...
Great place to spend time away from work. Beautiful resort in the city. Great for golf, dining or just relaxing.
Beautiful resort and the staffs are beer friendly. There is a big mall across the street for other activities. People in this area are extremely nice.
We spent a lovely weekend in town and were pleasantly pleased with all the features of the Marriott. It was a very busy, fully booked weekend but the staff from Valet, Check-in, Bell Desk, Fitness Center and Spa, Housekeeping and The Griffin Club were amazing.
Nice large resort. Facility offers great views but unfortunately the city has built up around it. Security is poor, rooms are nice, and activities for the kids make it a good family location.
High end resort with 2 golf courses. Excellent for large conferences which were active during our visit. Offers regular hotel rooms or villas as this is clearly a top-end resort. We played the Arnold Palmer designed golf course which was in excellent condition and should be a challenge for most levels of golfers, but not suggested for beginners.
