Frankly expected to more from a Marriott. Sheets and desk chairs were stained and it took forever to get service at the outdoor dining area by the pool.

Not too good, had nats flying around, birds hopping on floor. Rolls were spoiled.
A spread out behometh of a facility. Great golf facilities.
I have stayed here numerous times, and each times I have loved it. My husband is an Ambassador Elite with Marriott so they always take care of us and we get a great room. Very clean hotel, rooms and outside areas. The pool has a lazy river and a family pool with a private pool also for people who want to reserve more comfortable chairs and more of a smaller pool. The atmosphere is really laid back and tropical feel to it. We like hanging at the bar and always enjoy it. Overall I love everything about this resort. The spa is also really awesome.
My wife and I love Roy's restaurant at JW Marriott. It's out favorite place to eat and we celebrate every occasion there! Staff is always friendly and the food is always amazing! We've eaten at over 10 different Roy's locations and this is our favorite one, so we're glad we live close to it!
Great service and everyone is super nice, they have an awesome lazy river
There is a serious problem with the Marriott trend. My wife and I have be rewards members for some time now and there has been a decrease in amenities and an increase in the hidden fees attributed to those lacking amenities. This was apparent yet again this weekend while staying at the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa. To start off while researching different venues, the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa s website gave no mention of a $25.00 resort fee. Then once at the resort we found they have rooms with two full size beds instead of the Queens we have become accustom to. Follow this up with less than courteous staff and a dining experience or should I say lack of experience at the Roy s within the resort. All these experiences culminated in an adventure that left us feeling like we were taken advantage of. We are now trying to decide which franchise we should switch to. I am sure the staff at Desert Ridge will not be concerned in the least as that is the feeling I got.
Fantastic property and the service was excellent! Can't wait to come back.
Very well appointed resort with great conference facilities and pool options
Griffen Club is the best way to spoil oneself in Phoenix
Lovely food and amenities. Definitely plan to stay here at some point.
Knockout location and highest attention to detail. And there's a Roy's restaurant on the property!
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights. As an elite platinum member, I felt that this hotel went above and beyond taking care of us. Tanya at the front desk was so awesome, she gave us all the details of what was included in our resort fee, suggested where we should go for breakfast and even sent us a little snack tray that was waiting for us in our room when we got back. It came with a personalized card for me and a birthday card for my boyfriend. All the staff at this resort were friendly, always smiled and were genuinely willing to help. Also the new workout/fitness center at the revive spa is amazing. I looked forward to working out every morning! It was one of the best vacations we have taken together and will be one to remember forever. Thank you to everyone who made our trip one to remember!
Top notch. Everything is pristine. Great service and pool area.
I host corp. Dinners here great place for small corp. Dinner. Great atmosphere
God himself laid his blessing upon this property. He led the chosen people here, and saw that it was good.
While attending a company event I was very impressed with the Marriott.
Very nice very professional staff restaurants were very good
Loved staying here. From the rooms, facilities, food to the staff everything was perfect. It's homely and yet a vacation.
Amazing resort. Beautiful grounds and plenty to do. Would like to return.
Booked a stay here last minute after a bad first day at another resort in Phoenix. So happy we made the switch. Friendly and prompt service with a resort quality experience. Stayed with a just shy of year old baby, and everyone was very child friendly. Do not hesitate to book, you will not be disappointed.
The ambiance was amazing. Staff were friendly. Locating my room was difficult.
Excellent place for a staycation! Dined at Roy's where you can't really go wrong on their menu. The bar in the main area below the lobby has Blantons too.
Brunch was top notch and everything was excellent! Would greatly recommend!
Clean and beautiful. Loved this resort. The lazy river is so great!
Beautiful hotel. We were there for a convention and it was perfect. The staff did great at moving a large number of people through the food lines and providing a great selection.
I was there for a 3 day conference. The conference and exposition rooms where very nice, the hotel service staff was great and the foos was very good. I would recomend it for meetings and events without a doubt.
So with poor weather we worked out that the area would be quieter then expected for the first weekend in which people can leave home and have fun.
Very luxurious resort feels like an oasis in the middle of the desert
We have stayed at the JW Desert Ridge multiple times, and it is always a STELLAR experience. Everyone goes out of their way to be accommodating, and the services is exceptional. They really try to cater to your needs, and I always feel as though they value my business and welcome feedback. Marriott really does things right, and this is a terrific property to stay at, whether I am traveling for business or pleasure.
I love this hotel. Beautiful grounds, attentive staff, great pools.
My company Christmas party was located here. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The staff are beyond helpul. We had a great time.
Nice venue for a corporate event. Food was better than I thought it would be and the bar staff was prompt
The staff was extremely friendly and the grounds are very well taken care of.
Great service, rooms, grounds and pools. It can be crowded during summer weekends and one must secure their chairs early. Unfortunately this creates its own problem with unclaimed towels covering chairs for hours at a time and staff doesn't monitor. Food and drinks are pretty outrageous (think Vegas Strip prices) and are just okay quality-wise. I suppose that's why the Hotel will not let you bring your own drinks to the pool. It's a fun weekend, just be prepared to spend a lot more than the room charge.
Beautiful resort, incredible pools and golf course, comfortable rooms. Highly recommended!
Beautiful property! I had the opportunity to attend my BF's Christmas Party at this location. Great rooms of various sizes to rent for meetings, parties, reunions, etc. Very friendly catering staff in 12/1/18 evening for FCI. There was plenty of corn hole to be had, and we won the tournament, which came with a free night here!! Will be using it sooner rather than later and look forward to it!
Great restaurant, rooms were spacious and well decorated.
This was by far the nicest resort my Dad has ever stayed at for a business trip. The pools, and amenities made it a very relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were very nice, and have high standards. Overall my Dad had an amazing experience here at this resort.
Not my favorite type of Hotel a little bit too big and too much walking but beautifully appointed
This is one of my mine and my wife's absolute favorite places to go. I've performed here with corporate bands multiple times, dined at two of the on-site restaurants, and stayed in a room at this luxurious resort--so I've seen and experienced much it has to offer. From the staff to the quality of food, from the views to the amenities, all top notch! In fact, we will be coming this weekend!
Pretty terrible experience: a bunch of college kids staying at the hotel kept me from sleeping one night, and when I switched to a different room the next day, they sent a cleaning lady who threw out my food as I was moving my stuff from one room to another (and that despite me telling them I needed time to transfer my things to the new room).
Great atmosphere, comfortable, good range of dining options and nearby attractions
Great big venue..nice pool, golf course, tennis courts
I normally don t bother with reviews but we had such an amazing time I had to share. My boyfriend and I had the best time this weekend. The resort and our room was clean and at limited capacity with awesome views. The pool was so fun and the spa was as well. The number one thing that made this experience so great was the staff. Everywhere we went, we were greeted with a friendly face and people that went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. Mike at the pool was so hospitable and checked on us so many times. I had a massage at the Revive spa and my therapist Jeff was so professional and made sure I was comfortable and felt good. I wish I could remember more names so I could shout them out but every bar, restaurant, and amenity we used had 5-star service. The food was superb and the drinks were as well, the front desk staff even let us have a late check out so we could enjoy the pool a little longer. I have lived in Arizona most of my life and take little staycation weekends at resorts often and this is one of the best experiences I ve ever had. We will definitely be back. Thank you for helping us relax!
This place like all JW Marriott's are absolutely beautiful properties. Please see some of my photos.
Third time staying here. This is the best Marriott location out there. The lazy river and the spa are my favorite things about this place. There are plenty of food/drink options too, although I would not consider them world class.
Great resort, lots to do and a very friendly focused and efficient staff to take care of you. Great food and beverage service too.
This is a great property. There are a couple minor shortcomings. The room service is limited but there are restaurants on site. My room was ground level and my cell did not work from my room for voice. They charge for phone calls but waived that charge when i explained my phone was not getting reception. Beers are $7. Staff is responsive. The food catered at our even was mediocre at best. But i recommend for a relaxing get away.
The conference rooms we had for our professional development were hot, despite asking the staff to turn down the AC a few times. When you have 40-60 people (or 250 in our large session) in one room for an hour, it begins to get hot, let alone all day. Water stations were outside the rooms, creating a lot if movement, noise, and interruption if you needed water because rooms were too hot. Garbage was also inconveniently outside the rooms. Also there was a haboob storm on Monday evening 7/30/18 and there was a lot of damage that wasn't cleaned up in the parking lot. I felt bad for whomever had the cars that were smashed by palo verde trees.
It's a beautiful and relaxing place. Perfect for a family vacation. The perfect get away.
A really nice resort/hotel, but make sure you have a car. There's almost nothing within walking distance
Great hotel. Really nice rooms and ambience. The pool area could use a little renovation but all in all a great stay.
Love floating down the lazy river and drinking pina coladas. The rooms are also very nice along with the entire hotel in general.
This place is huge and gorgeous! Everyone is so nice! We are planning our wedding there and Natalie and Elizabeth have been amazing! Spending lots of time answering all our questions and concerns, making it so comfortable. We feel like we are close friends and have known them for a while. Very excited to have our big day here with all our friends and family. We looked at a million venues and they had some of the best options, food wise for the cost. We love going here just to walk the grounds, sit relax and have a drink at the pool bar. Hoping for a great wedding weekend at this beautiful resort. I know the wedding hasn't happened yet, and it can be a very stressful day, as well as exciting and happy but I felt they deserved this review now for how awesome they have been. Very accommodating and met with us several times and several hours, so I feel they deserve a review based on that alone.
My favorite resort in Phoenix. Clean. Nice pool. Great conference room area. Beautiful grounds. A little pricey compared to other resorts in town, but this is by far a favorite for the locals.
