J&P Cycles Review

I have been a J&P customer for years, but no more! The customer service (Steve)is rude and no help! I purchased a expensive lithium ion battery with a 2 year warranty. One year later it is no good. So they want me to take it to a local auto parts store and have it tested. I did not like doing that because I did not buy it from them. But I did and it was awkward. They were not able to determine if the battery was good or not. So I ended up sending the whole battery back. They did not call me they did not let me know they received it, so weeks later I called them again. They blamed for your supplier. They blamed China. But they would do nothing to replace my battery. They sell cheap Chinese junk. If you want to buy a product with no warranty and rude customer service, this is the place!

Great place. Almost always have the parts I need. If it is not in-stock there they will order it.

Attended the 2017 J & P Rally for the 2nd straight year and had a great time. Terrific vendors, free food, live bands and some of the best people-watching on the planet.

Parts guys are super helpful and not stuck up like some places. Even had metric accessories along with tons of Harley accessories.

Alot of parts and accessories. Gear and clothing too. Free shipping. The people are really nice and helpful.

Great place, very friendly people. Excellent customer service.

Finally able to see the all the things other than in a catalog or website. Free Lunch!

Needed to cancel part of my order after 1 hr. They said it was already to late and would do nothing to help. Bad customer service.

Called the number listed to up cycles and low and behold u never get them u get someone not even at a store just a random person who can t answer ur questions or if they do you talk it over with your spouse and call back and get someone else and they don t have the same answer you were just given! Piss poor excuse of a business all together beware!!

Nice but limited selection of high quality motorcycle parts and apparel. If they don't have it they can order it. Very knowledgeable sales staff. But like I said, in store is limited. A nice drive and close to the Motorcycle Museum.

Today I picked up a battery for my Harley. I've bought leathers and helmets previously at decent prices.

I ordered a tire 6/17. I picked 2 day air and then they said because of covid they werent doing 2 day shipping. Ok I can deal with that. But then 6/22 it was suppose to be delivered and nothing. Contacted customer service they said it hasnt be scanned since 6/19. And they assume it was lost. Now they say I have to wait 10 days and its my problem with ups and I need to deal with them. As a provider they pick the carrier and its ultamately thier responsibly to issue a refund and take it up with ups. I need my tire because myine is bald. They will take your money but not refund it when they know it was lost. I'm contacting a lawyer . dont order from these ppl they are horrible. Im out 140 because they do bad businesses . thanks alot jp cycles.

This place doesn't even deserve 1 star but you have to click it to write a review. Ordered a hitch on 7/23/19. On 8/7/19 they don't have an answer where my hitch is. I called the company the hitch is coming from, HUH guess what? THEY NEVER PUT THE ORDER IN TO THEM. Then J&P gave me the run around on what is going on! Called in 4 times & never got any straight answers as to what is the deal. I knew there was some wait time, but 11 days with still no reason to the where the hitch is. I am a long time customer since 2003 & never had an issue until now.

Drove hour and a half to get a rim that said online they had in stock ...instead had to order and have shipped!

Neat shop, they have pretty much anything you would need for your motorcycle. Very clean and organized. Friendly staff.

J&p cycles are actually pretty great. Wish there were one closer to me.

Would be no star if had the option ordered a tire then they charge my account double then when I call them customer service tells me that is what they do to make shure I have the funds dose not make a bit of since if i order a part i don't want to pay for 2 and when they decide I have enough in my account pay me back very bad for business

Absolutely terrible service!!! Took weeks to get my order and everytime I called they would give me the run-around and tell me the order had already shipped when it clearly had not. I will NEVER order from them again!!! the most unhelpful, untrustworthy customer service department ever.

This place has a wide variety of items and apparel. I personally love the bandanas, hair bands, face masks, and t-shirts they offer. Please be sure to double check your receipt to your purchases however...when we were rang up their system had a tendency to ring up the wrong items, which were clearly wrong and more expensive. The lady and cashier were super nice about walking through each item to make sure my purchases were correct.. so that is nice.

They have a huge selection of everything you could want for motorcycles, all makes of bikes. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. This place has been in business a long time and are very reputable.

Very disappointing visit to J&P Cycles today. Drove from Grinnell to get a few parts for the bike and might as well stayed home and ordered online. Everything will be shipped to the house, didn't know that they no longer have a warehouse in Anamosa. I looked around for a tshirt for our grandson, none to be found. We won't be back.

Guys at counter found me the right parts when I was having trouble with catalogs.

Always get great service in Iowa and at Sturgis! They have very knowledgeable staff.

Looking for a motorcycle helmet. The staff were very helpful and answered our questions. Many nice helmets at reasonable prices. We found a few we liked and will probably go back and buy one of them.

The employees were very helpful, knowledgeable and courteous. Will definitely be returning.

Great store! Gift giver beware... womens sizes run very large and if you lose your receipt even if the tags are still on you are out of luck. Plenty of leathers and gear to choose from at a reasonable price and of course it's the one stop shop for parts and accessories.

We went here to pick up some tires we had them hold for us. I noticed a Bluetooth headset that I have & commented to cashier 71127 that I couldn't find my instructions on setting channels. She proceeded to pull up the instructions for my model & printed the pages I needed, which I thought was exceptional customer service. We went back a couple weeks later to look at helmets & the same cashier waited on us. Again, she was very helpful.

If your shopping & wanting someone to assist you. Look for the little gal. She's very knowledgeable & helpful.

I have been flipping through JP catalog for a long time. A family trip took us by the store so I had to stop. 3.5

Used their online shop but called and I'm not sure which location I was in contact with, so I'm going to leave a review for all the locations since I can't for their online shop:
I am a real customer and a nobody. I placed an order online for a brake line and a couple fittings. When the order arrived there was a component that I couldn't get to fit and I couldn't figure out why so I called... Spoke with a man who looked up my order. I won't give all the details but basically I made a mistake and they fixed it in a way that was not fair for them. So I was treated more than fairly. They deserve at least a great review for treating me so well.
Great knowledge, great help, fast shipping, great company in my experience.

Got some good advice on highway pegs. I wish I had a better review. Their inventory was low. I was informed there was a rally there the previous weekend. Oh well.

Warning! Order somewhere else. They screw up your order and then make you wait while they take forever with "their claims process". Go to Revzilla or Rocky Mountain ATV. At least they stand behind their orders and have awesome customer service! This place needs to get their act together.

Pathetically slooooow order fulfillment. Have had to cancel orders and order parts through Dennis Kirk or Twisted Choppers to get parts on-time.

My boyfriend and I went here and Darry helped us, this guy knew his shi*. That is one knowledgable man right there. The person that helped us the time before, was okay but nothing like this guy. So, if you're stopping in, traveling to get there, (like we did), ask for Darry.

The Tech there really came through. He measured, cross refrenced and found a throttle cable for my 77 Shovel with Apes. Hats off to you! Considering I was going to settle for a repair kit.

False advertising! Bought parts that the site said ships same day . After calling numerous times I canceled after day 9.

NOT RETURNING TO THIS LOCATION .... My first time entering this store and I dont know if this location has a problom with theft or what ever is there situation but I will not be treated or judged no matter were I was at in the store I was watched very VERY closely by not only 1 employee but 3 of there employees it made me feel as if they thought i was going to steal from the store. So I went back to get the part for my bike as the employee was looking up the part I requested I tryed to lighten the mood and joked around with the guy but that was not much of a accomplishment as the employee seemed as if he as well was either in a crapy mood or was judgemental I will not return to this location in Anamosa,Iowa.... either get some security cameras or hire new employees because u just lost two customers 1/15/20

Do not order tires from this place. They sent me the wrong tires. Then refunded my tires. A month later they tried to send me another set of wrong tires and charged me for them even though I called and corrected the issue. Now I have another set of unwanted tires that I cannot use and had to cancel my credit card and report this unauthorized charge ( basically fraud ). What a hassle. Do not use this company , I called 6-7 times to solve various issues. Now I have to call to deal with this unauthorized charge that they re refusing to refund. They are scammers. And Aimee A ( their employee ) will tell you one thing on the phone and say another in emails. Complete BS and terrible customer service.

Ordered a side cover from them 6/3/20. Its now 6/17/20 and it says order received but not processed. I sent an email 4 days ago (with order #) and received absolutely no response back. So I called them today. The representative confirmed my order hasn't been processed and won't be till 7/3/20 because the part (made in Arizona) isn't in stock. I told her I confirmed it was in stock before ordering. She then hung up on me. I am done with this store.

Used to be my go to place for accessories and clothing. Some of the best selections ever. Always recommended to everyone I knew. Havent been riding in 5 or 6 years, you know kids n stuff...but...will never go here again. They do not allow you to check out stuff in the warehouse...ever... Used to be able to ask to look at something from the catalog and they would have a runner go get it so you could see it in person. Not anymore. I cant think of anyplace that would not check their in store stock and try and find something for you. Hey walmart, do you have this item in stock? Walmart employee....let.me go look... No reason to ever go here....ever. No reason to ever order from a place that refuses in house customer service. Too much competition on line and if that's where I'm forced to go, then I will be sure to go to someone else. As far as recommending these guys...never again and will always tell everyone they refuse to be an upstanding establishment for common retailer courtesies.
