Even though the restaurant was overbooked, the food was excellent as always and the staff was attentive and accomodating. They really did their best under the circumstances. Huge crowd for Mother's day! I love this place!

We were there september 11 2016 for dinner and being italians living in toronto we are spoiled with authentic italian restaurants after dining in a few italian restaurants in new orleans we ended up at andrea's restaurant where i had a nice bistecca alla fiorentina to die for my wife had home made tagliatelle with pesto al dente which was superb
Then we met the owner andrea which greeted us so wormly and told us a bit of his past history
Such a great man for all the people that are looking for real authentic italian food this is the place
Andrea grazie per la tua ospidalita che hai dato a noi durante la nostra cena
Un saluto da Toronto

Not the best, not the worst.

Not the best, not the worst.

My husband, and I love trying diffrent places and reviewing them. Had the coupon buy 2 dinners get a free 35 dollar bottel of wine or a cookbook. The have a good selections for that price, but could only get a choice of white or red. I let that slide. I hate when your told one thing then get another.

O.k let that slide. Eggplant crab cake, ok. I had veal marie, didn't care for it. Taste like it sat to long. Husband had duck pontrtrain, FANTASTIC, cheese tray, blue cheese, GREAT!! The rest o.K. Then caramel desert, could of done without.

Now for service, waiter o.k, everyone else great. Waiter was to busy with more important guest. Andrea introduced himself to us which was nice.

Will we go back, probobly not. We saved up to go there, and wished we went to Vincents instead.

Today was a first visit for my husband and me. From the time we stepped in to the time we walked out we were treated very hospitably. Jose greeted us at the door, introduced himself, and showed us to a lovely table. This place has such ambience with beautiful paintings and pictures covering the walls. Priscilla was our server, and she was very attentive and sweet. We also met some other employees, Ron and Mistie. Both were very outgoing and welcoming. It s very clear that everyone here works together and carries a huge amount of pride in what they do. We noticed that the glassware was checked over, not once, not twice, but three times, to make sure that it was spotless and perfect. Everything here is done with precision.
Now, let me speak about the food. We ordered soup (gumbo), salad, pizza, and desert (Canolli and chocolate Mousse.) Everything that we ate was made to PERFECTION. I can t rave enough about the pizza and the desert. We will definitely be back, and we highly recommend that you stop by if you re in the area or make a reservation. We promise you won t be disappointed. We would like to say thank you to all of the wonderful staff who made our first experience here one to remember.

Excellent brunch with top notch brunch beverages. They even offer a $10 bottomless mimosa! Highly recommend the eggs Benedict with beef medallions and bearnaise sauce. Amazing! Brunch available both Saturday and Sunday.

I created a yelp account just to voice my disgust with this business. My family is out of town for Christmas vacation and we walked into Andrea's on Christmas evening. For someone to complain about being served food on Christmas night seems More

The food was incredible! I ordered the snapper with a side of pasta and vegetables, and it was hands down the best meal I ve eaten while visiting the New Orleans area. Also, during my stay, the chef/owner came out and went around greeting every table, which was a very nice touch and made the dining experience more personal. Also, my server Natalie was very attentive, prompt, kind, and patient.

My boss took us to Andrea's today for lunch. Waiter was horrible. After he served us our meal he disappeared and we didn't see him for a long time. My seafood gumbo was served without rice?? My boss's steak was suppose to be medium and it was rare. Of course she didn't eat it. But the waiter said she should have jumped up and found him. (Not her place!!) The food was barely warm and the tiramsu was dry and not flavorful at all. Big disappointment!

I'm reluctantly writing this. I ordered off of Uber so this is strictly food based.

We ordered breakfast. Crab cakes, bacon, hash browns, gumbo, turtle soup and Shrimp and Crab au gratin which was supposed to have come with potatoes as well. They missed the shrimp and crab which means I did not get to try the other type of potatoes.

The crab on the crab cakes was not seasoned. There was only a sauce to put over them which was either too salty or too lemony.

Hash browns were some of the best I've ever had. Loved the bacon.

Gumbo was pasty. I think it was frozen and microwaved.

Turtle soup now stands for worcheshire soup.

Sorry Andreas. That is all.

Don't wast your money!!

Don't wast your money!!
The worst dinning experience ever in the city. If you could give less than one star I would.
The whole family was sick after eating here.
Food was servd cold and had no flavor.
The grilled oysters seemed like they were reheated leftovers.
And the service was horrible.
Ask for drink refills several times and never got one.
For what they charge there are much better choices nearby.
I felt riped off by this restaurant.
And will never return.

This place smelled like someone urinated in their mop water. Hits you like a ton of bricks upon entrance into restaurant. The back room was nice for a seminar, saggy crown molding, in need of major updating. Food was yummy, not large portions. Our server was absolutely fantastic! The best thing about the place.

Andrea's has amble parking, a free-standing, landscaped property, and an elegant, formal interior, with numerous dining rooms. The wait staff are friendly and professional. I ordered the Spaghetti & Linguine, which came with fresh-baked bread w/butter. The portions were generous, and the food was delicious. I would recommend Andrea's and would return. RJT

Came here for the reveillon dinner on Christmas. We had revers action and had to wait 10 minutes before our table was ready. Upon being seated at a table of 4 (we were only 2) we waited 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. He claimed he thought we were waiting for 2 more as no one took the setting away. God forbid you check just in case.

After waiting the food service was too fast. I barely finished the appetizer when the entree was out. The refills were mostly timely.

The pasta fagioli was good. The ravioli bolognese was very tasty.

The crab ravioli portion was huge. The cream sauce was watery and had no flavor. The ravioli was bland but I like that they were homemade.

The prime rib was cooked to order. The mixed veggies were properly cooed. I like that the baked potato came with a side of chopped scallions, bacon and cheese.

Several of the desserts were already sold out so selection was limited. I had the apple pie which was ok and tasted store bought. The strawberry shortcake was good.

Portion sizes were good but the quality was not acceptable.

We added to have a cab called and they said they did but when e checked the cab company said they never got a call from the restaurant.

At $49.50 per plate I expect a lot better and would not recommend.

Been wanting to go here for a very long time and finally made it. Had I known it would be that good I would have made it here a long time ago. We had seven people and everybody got a different dish and we all tried each other's and every dish was excellent.

Just spent a lovely evening here with my fella---it was everything we were looking for! Very cozy, nicely appointed dining areas which felt both elevated and homey. Top notch wait staff who were quick to anticipate and attend to our needs. Delicious eats. We especially enjoyed meeting the chef, who made rounds to all the tables. Two birthdays happened around us and we saw the staff make a big fuss over the celebrants. This would be a lovely spot for a special occasion and we can't wait to bring Mama and Papa Romeo to visit when they are next in town. Great Metairie gem. Many thanks for your hospitality. And also for the coconut cake leftovers which are being gobbled as I type this : )

Great atmosphere and wine list. Bruschetta and salads, Caesar and Andreas, were good. Chicken parm and spaghetti and meatballs were okay. Tiramisu was good light and heavier on the marscipone cheese flavor which I liked.

Run down more and more and the food has become suspect in a few food poisoning cases. The only bright spot is that the owner is sincere and comes out to interact with the patrons at the bar.... Better days have been seen here...

When paying almost 50USD/plate before desert I would really like my desert and expresso to be served before my digestive. and I would really like for my waiter to look less UNINTERESTED - he literally spent most of his time at the table next to us and forgot about my expresso and deserts...

we ate at 6 and the floor was already dirty around our table. our waiter was a goofball. we tried to get him to NOT fill our glasses so we could stay dry. in the middle of taking our order he got distracted and disappeared for a few minutes. funny. was the chef off for the holiday? the trout was overcooked and i think they used the same tasteless sauce on the veal scallopini? and how can an italian restaurant ruin pasta? if it's too much trouble to open christmas eve - STAY CLOSED!

Although I have not eaten here often, that is no reflection on the food, the service, or the ambience. The bartender was attentive and great at making conversation as we had a drink before dinner at the bar. The chef and other Andrea's employees came out and talked with us, making us feel very welcome. I had the La. Crabmeat ravioli grande with a caesar salad and the whole meal was delicious.

Very good overall experience, and excellent professional service. The seafood Milliton good; seafood soup very good,; cannoli, different from Brocato's, but good; macaroni and cheese outstanding. Very nice atmosphere with beautiful paintings on the walls. Mr. Andrea adds a nice friendly touch to the atmosphere by coming out and greeting his customers, and even kisses the ladies hands. Andrea's has a three-course lunch special for $23.

This restaurant was horrible. The only thing good about the restaurant is the decor. The waiter I believe his name is Lou was the worst waiter I have ever met. We had a group of 6 there to enjoy our Valentine's Day Dinner. The food is horrible and the restaurant is definitely over priced. Please save your money and do yourself a favor and do not go to this restaurant. We got there at 8:30pm and did not leave until 11:00pm and the restaurant was supposed to close at 10:00pm. We were the last ones to leave because we were the last ones to get our food. They were people to walk in after us and leave before us.

This place used to be fantastic, but seems like its going downhill. Went there for lunch today with a client and they took an hour and a half just to serve the food and when it came out the quality was below par (poorly cooked pasta, etc). Not sure what is going on but this Metairie gem from the years past needs a revival.

I am a regular at Andrea's Restaurant. The food is unrivaled. The staff has tremendous public relation skills. Santino, Maureen and Eileen are simply the best at what they do! The chefs are very knowledgeable and accommodating. I highly recommend this place....

Went there for xmas and unlike most reviews it was a very nice experience. My steak was not cooked properly, but they quickly redid it to perfection. We went later in the day. The one thing I did notice is they do not follow serving ettiquette in this restaurant. Which is not that big a deal, just not typical if you want to compete with other upscale restaurants.
The one star is for New Years eve. HORRIBLE!. $98 for a similar menu to xmas that was $50. I guess the other $50 was for the mediocre band and the one glass of champagne. The service was the worst I've had in a very long time and that was at a cheap steak place. It took 45 minutes to get us water and take our drink orders. It improved slightly for a while.
then slowed again. We were given coffee and no desert. We didn't get dessert until 11:20 pm. .We wanted another bottle of wine, but our waiter was too busy drinking wine with the people at the next table to notice us. Then we were forced to give a 20% tip. I normally tip minimal 20% cuz I've been in the service business. Often more if the service is a little better than normal. None of us wanted to give 20% at our table for the poor service. Need more help or not start serving so early on New Years. Never again. . The manager could care less.
Xmas dinner took 2 hrs this took over 3 1/2 to get the food served. I hope Andrea reads this. I've been going to this restaurant since it opened. So disappointed.

We had a 5 star experience! It has a veriety of atmosphere like a bar room, a romantic room and more. WORTH every penny. Huge menu, attentive staff, and DELICIOUS food. I am definitely going back and will ask for server Anthony again. In and out with a belly full, in about an hour. Dont forget to get dessert to-go cuz youll be too full but they are home made amazing.

Very good food and the atmosphere was welcoming. The reason I did not give 5 stars...the service was awful. Our waiter took our orders than disappeared. The meal took almost 45 minutes and we were left hanging. Barely asked us for
Dessert...than forgot about us again. Needless to say we did not order dessert and paid our bill and left. Would love to go back because good was excellent but not sure I could sit thru a 2.5 hour meal.

I went to dinner tonight by myself and that was a bad idea. The waiter basically forgot me several times. I had to stop people (waiters) and ask for stuff like more drink or water or bread. The service I received was horrible and it s a shame because the place is gorgeous and a great atmosphere for a date night. But the service I received was no better that a McDonalds. I had the gumbo and it was excellent. Than I had the spaghetti and meatballs and that was very bland. I like pepper on my food and they offered none for me or bring me a spoon so that I can roll my noodles. Than I waited a while for my bill. What a shame because the place is beautiful. Other tables were getting asked on a regular basis if they needed anything l, but not me. What a shame. I couldn t even get a table with a fake lighted candle.

Andrea's was Extraordinaire. The chargrilled oysters were to die for. The seafood gumbo was loaded with crab meat and shrimp and was very tasty. The calamari was fried just right and wasn't overcooked. And I can't wait to go back and try the rabbit that's on the specials menu. They also have craft cocktails that are awesome.

We just ate the Valentine's Day menu and every new dish I had was the worst I've ever had.

There was no seasoning on anything we ate, the caprese was oily, the crab cake was just a greasy overcooked mess, the crab ravioli was just undercooked ravioli in Ben E. Keith cream sauce, the chicken parm was bone dry, the tomato sauce tasted like New Orleans tap water, the bread pudding was ok but very boring, and the tiramisu was an abomination. It all tasted like bad school cafeteria food.

It was not cheap either at $50/person, and the ambience was reminiscent of a nursing home. I hear the food may be good normally, but we'll never know.

Italy would invade New Orleans if they knew how bad this food was.

Update: My wife and I were both sick last night from the food. The disrespectfully low quality and egregious prices make me want to tell everyone I know to avoid this place.
