Very impressive and beautiful bridge. Interesting architecture as well. If you're looking for a good picture spot, head to the Marin Headlands and ideally don't be there too early in the morning, as fog is quite common there and then you can't see the full bridge.

Stop on our family vacation. Our school aged children were able to walk the entire length of the bridge and back with minimal complaints. My only complaint was that people riding bicycles were not very courteous to pedestrians even though we tried to stay on the side indicated by signage. I was hit by one woman who did not appear to know how to ride a bicycle (definitely not the place to learn!) Be sure to bring sweaters just in case...we were get chilly in mid-July

Crossed the Golden Gate to get a view back over San Francisco Bay of the mainland and Alcatraz Island. Spectacular! Bling Blinky of Texas Shout Out: Don t miss this wonder of the world! Walk the bridge!!

Best tourist spots and nice gift shop but being such a great tourist spot they have 2 restaurant options and they doesn t accept American Express credit cards which is a big problem but it s a good place seeing the bridge was one of the best moments .

Walked all the way, nice atmosphere. Managed to capture some really cool time lapses from the bridge towards the bay. Must do!

It is something you have to watch for yourself, the view, the bridge, the transit, the fog, the landscapes from any of its ends. Try to get trough it!

Try to come not so early because of the fog. To cross the bridge is a joyful experience :)

Bike lane tight with all the wobbly widebar blazing butt bike rentals combined with the work crew using an increasingly wider slice of bike lane as storage space over the years. Would be interesting to see what the actual guidelines are for the space that was agreed fill up with construction equipment. All I can say is there better be some strong glue on that jumper protection netting if they really do plan on keeping folks struggling with suicidal tendencies from clambering to edge of it.

Such a great bridge to drive/walk across. The views of SF and the bay are amazing, not to mention the view of Alcatraz !!! A must do when in the bay area.

nice place to do hiking, jogging or just chill out with your friends. I found it's tricky to find toilet if you you're in the middle of the bridge, because you need to go along way to either side

What a remarkable place for photoshoot. Weather is always nice. Vicinity is lovely and breathtaking. Must go to the beach and take some pics for family.

It's one of the most beautiful attraction of San Francisco. The best way to visit it is walking one way and biking the other, if it's possible. Foggy days are the most picturous time for taking photos.

It was my first time visiting and it was really beautiful and not really crowded on a weekend. It was really windy though so bring a jacket even in summer.

One of the most beautiful places in the world. It was in my bucket list since i studied about bridges in engineering. Stunning Engineering in 1930s Unbeliveable work with cables n steel. Adding to that the weather is amazing most of the time. You just cant get enough of it. I don't know why it was so special but its truly is a magnificent sight. MUST VISIT if you are in SFO. I am lucky enough to see it on a clear crisp sunny day.It's so exiting and incredible when you cross over the Bridge. On one side it's the Pacific Ocean, On the other is an amazing view of The San Francisco Skyline.Engineering Marvel...Hats off

Build in the early 20th century this bridge has made me wonder everytime I could go there. Almost always covered with clouds on the top, this is also a excellent place for pictures. Off the bridge and on the bridge the view of the San Francisco Bay is absolutely stunning.
The walk from the visitor center and over the bridge is one of attractions. However it can get very cold at times over the bridge. Adequate protections are recommended always at this place.
It is the historical icon of San Francisco and everyone needs to pay a visit.

The best bridge I have ever seen. In one word I can say excellent. We walked over the bridge from one end to next end and it was a memorable experince. It was a cloudy day and windy weather helped me to walk more. The strucure of the bridge was great.

If you ve never had a chance please go by the visitor center it s really well done and A beautiful spot. The Golden Gate bridge gift shop has a really amazing selection of all kinds of things would be a great place to buy gifts for someone that has everything but loves our national Park System or Northern California they have cute shirts pens mugs cups.

Just walk across the Bridge and you will realize the beauty of it.

Big beautiful and historic. Go see it! Just as cool covered by fog. The opposing Bay Bridge is even more impressive. Make a weekend of it and do the whole package... Golden Gate, Alcatraz, San Fran, Cable Cars, etc. Too bad San Fran is so unfunded and falling apart.

The beauty of Golden Gate lies in the view it affords from various places. The best place to take pics is the beach below and the golden gate recreational area. If you love walking, you can backpack (with enough water) all the way from Pier 39. You will see some amazing views on the way including buildings and a nice little beach in between.There is a cafe on the way too where you can order latte in almost milk along with good sandwiches. There is a park shuttle also which takes you around the golden gate Park near the bridge

This is San Francisco Icon. A must visit location if your are in SF. During the moring you can get an amazing for covering the bridge. You can photograph this bridge in each point of your perspective with a unique angles. Safe for pedestrians and bicyclists.

The bridge is beautiful, what a view, tall, long. A lot of tourists over there, it can be cold at times. I remember part of x men 2 movie was filmed there at the bridge. What a monument it is! Famous, everyone should go there without a doubt. For those of you who travel to San Francisco, definitely consider stopping there and take pictures. Simply amazing

Enjoy an exhilarating, but often chilly, walk across it. Keep in mind that the best place to take pictures of Golden Gate Bridge is Fort Point.

Having heard so much about the golden gate bridge, it did not live upto the expectations for me. It is a marvel indeed, but a bit hyped too. Nonetheless, the atmosphere around the bridge us mesmerizing and i would recommend at least a one time visit here

How this beautiful attraction in San Francisco doesn't have a full five stars is beyond me. The entire scene of the bay and the red bridge is a remarkable sight, abounding in natural beauty. Sunshine glistens on the waves streaming into the bay, and the energy of the city makes for a really excellent experience. If you're passing through San Francisco you should definitely stop to get a good look at the bridge, or take some pictures. You will not regret it!

Great views of the bay, the city, and of Alcatraz prison. If walking, the east side of the bridge is open to pedestrians and bicycles. If biking, both sides are open to bicycles. Both pedestrians and bicycles are protected from traffic. If driving, leaving the San Francisco area is free, but they do have a toll plaza when entering. They have a gift shop and a snake area. During high traffic area they open more lanes by using a zipper device that moves the barricade in the middle of the bridge over, effectively changing the number of lanes each side has.

We thought we'd bike across the bridge, but ended up walking. It was an easier walk than we expected and great to stop at all the points to take in the views. We also walked on to Sausalito, another 8kms (5 miles) then caught the ferry back to the wharf. We'd highly recommend walking it. You can use the hop on hop off bus too then it will pick you up at the other side. We are glad we walked than biked.

Great Place to walk and cycle. Avoid cloudy days, it gets really cold and windy on top of the bridge on cloudy days, on the other hand ,on sunny days you get great view and pictures of Golden Gate Bridge. You may be charged toll if using a car to cross the bridge. Nearby Sausalito city has really European feel, great place to have a coffee and snacks after visit to Golden Gate Bridge.

Iconic. The rest stop on the SF side is a good place to take photos. On the other side, the angle is not so good for pictures of the bridge.

This was a great rest stop as most restrooms are closed ... this was the rainbow at the end of our long drive

I was so happy to finally make to the west coast all the way from NJ it was an amazing trip and will be getting married soon back near there cant wait to drive on this bridge again n show my future wife the coast of California

Breathtaking place to go for a walk or ride your bike. Do bring a sweater though, it can get pretty windy and chilly especially if you get cold easily. Brought my kids here and they had a blast. Will come more often.
