For $250/night should of had central AC. Room was split between the bathroom. AC was a plug in unit that could only be used in one room. Very outdated rooms. Seemed dingy, run down. Won't stay there again. Comfort Inn is way nicer and less expensive. Wish I would've made my reservations earlier to get into Comfort Inn. Lesson learned.

Flashback to the 80s. Small, clean suites, friendly staff. Lots of rooms, spread out and difficult to navigate. Feels a bit like Hogwarts with stairs everywhere, not that they will get you where you want to be. 2 small elevators, but don't be fooled. Even if you take them to the correct floor, you still may need stairs to get to your room.
A little outdated but overall a clean and nice hotel. The staff was very helpful as well. I didn't stay the night, we just stayed in the lobby for a bit.
Fully furnished and spacious, in a cool part of town. Across from coffee, restaurants, and bars. Nearby access to ski lifts, with an equipment show downstairs. I would have given this place 3 stars because it is sort of dated, but it is also upstairs from a fantastic Pho place. If you stay here you must try the pho!
this place is interesting????....sooooo many rules when you stay here. Only one free pack for in room coffee, has a fireplace but you must buy a log from front desk, can't smoke anywhere on the deck of your room and so on. This place is littered with signs that have "rules" of the hotel.
For the price not bad. I can see how a family might like this, there is a pool and hot tub indoors in the middle of the open vestibule between the rooms. Kind if a weird spot out in the open in front of 10 rooms.
Definitely not a 3 star hotel. Rooms had to have been remodeled in the 90's and done very cheap. The shower head is from a 1997 sharper image catalog. The ceiling has peeling paint and the attic access was open when I went in the shower right above the shower head of all places. They told me I need to return the keys or there will be a $3 charge. Why wouldn't you just add $3to the price of the room, instead of forcing me to check out in person and return my keys.
My advice, remove all the rules and focus on guest service, don't inconvenience your guest over $3.
The location is great, the hotel is nice and clean. It would have been 5 stars but the beds are awful, I was honestly shocked, I've never been on such an uncomfortable hotel bed. The bed was lumpy, creaked, moved, the springs dug into my side, I barely slept the entire week and by the last day I was in a ton of pain. We're planning on visiting the area again with my family next year but we likely won't stay here unless the beds are updated, it would be impossible for my parents to sleep on those beds.
For the space and price you have to give it 5 stars!! We visit Beaver Creek often and have stayed mostly at the Osprey or Hyatt. However, during Christmas and New Years, hotel rooms are almost impossible to come by and if available, the least expensive in Beaver Creek was $1,000 per night for 2 guests! We stayed the week of New Years at the Christie Lodge for about $450 per night for a 3 bedroom, 3 bath unit (free parking and internet). It was great! Plenty of room for everyone and the living area was great to watch football games. The staff, in particular the front desk, was so helpful. The free shuttle whisks you straight to the lifts and village. This is our new favorite place. We have already booked a week for Spring Break! If you have to have "brand new" then this is not the place for you. The complex is older and a little dated but extremely clean and well equipped.
I like this place and location, but be ready to hear your neighbors and the person above your room. Also, i didnt like the idea that they charge $ even thou with RCI membership.
Wonderful stay! We loved our time spend here. Clean and newly remodeled rooms. 10 minutes from Vail and surrounded by a variety of restaurants and activities. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the accommodations are well kept. Definitely a 5 star lodge.
Always an absolute pleasure to be here! We stay all the time. The indoor pool and indoor hot tubs are very nice & the outdoor pool and hot tub are amazing and very warm.
There was a gas smell in the hallway that was never fixed even after reporting it. Is the place going to blow up one day? When we reported the pool table malfunction that also was not fixed. The front desk stated they would have housekeeping know. What about maintenance? Do they have any one that fixes things around there?
While the lodge was pleasant to stay in and there were a few pools and hot tubs there was one staff member in particular that we worked with who was rather rude and did not provide good customer service. Other than the customer service aspect the rooms were average and the location provided quick access to Edwards which had a nice town center and also was fairly central to hanging lake and Rocky Mountain National Park. I would give a 5 star rating if the customer service was improved upon.
The resort does not deserve gold crown rating! We were suppose to be there for 7 nights, but unfortunately we could only stand1 night in very cramped, outdated 1 bedroom
Very friendly staff! Spacious clean rooms. Lots of things to do on site. Has a kitchen with basic cooking needs, but very close to bars and restaurants. Only thing that was kinda bad was the cable would get static a lot. We weren't really there for the tv anyways though.
We checked in and then checked out moments later. We had a 3 bedroom with 3 bath, each bathroom was crusted in mold all over the shower edges inside and out. The linens were old and dirty. The kitchen was not cleaned with crumbs and food all over. The water pressure was not enough to cover a 6 year old in the shower. Photos of mold in bathrooms posted online on other websites. Lights and outlets were not all working. The carpet on the porch was torn and dirty. All of the walls were filthy and dirty.
They did try to check us into another room and when the housekeeper showed it to us he found blood/human feces on the wall and said he was sorry this room was not ready as well.
The pool outside the first room was just a few steps outside the door of the room and with no gate.
There is too much depreciation here at this hotel and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Great location in Avon. The real drawback is the steps as you travel in either direction. The building is built on the slope of a hill. It rises to the West. Hard to carry luggage up, or down stairs. It does have central elavators, but the further from the center the more steps to handle.
Nice place. We were there for fall and just 2 in a one bedroom. They have a small queen, more like a standard, bed. It would be crowded with 4 and ski equipment. Walkways take some getting use to.
I got a good night's sleep, but did not have much chance to explore or use the facilities as I was only in town for work. The staff I interacted with seemed friendly
Affordable and decent place to stay in Avon. Kitchenette is great, however their policy of NO CANNABIS USE on the property is discriminatory and offensive. I don't think they got the memo...
Dated and run down hotel with unfriendly staff. Keycard has to be redone several times, flickering room lights, sunken bed/sofa, and musty ski gear smell. Upside is that it s centrally located with restaurants nearby (pho20 next door and vin48 across the street) and beaver creek resort close by.
Christie Lodge is fantastic. Have stayed there 3 times now. Reasonably priced, great for families, clean, friendly staff, many conveniences, fun events for kids, beautiful area. We will most likely stay there any time we are in the Vail area, since it's very close.
Older hotel. Hot tubs have a prickly texture to the walls. Pool could be warmer. Wood fireplace but no wood supplied. Overall a nice unique placed in the middle of Avon.
My girlfriends and I stayed at Christie Lodge for Spring Back to Vail. It was a last minute booking without much research on the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed our stay! The bed being right next to the front door is a little odd, but we did not have any problems with noise levels. The room was great for the price and we loved the fact it had living room and kitchenette! The staff we had communications with were beyond great! They were very helpful directing us on the bus schedule to get to and from Vail for the concert we were seeing and helping us navigate somewhere we were not familiar with. I loved the fun family vibe the hotel has. I can't wait to bring my hubby and daughter to stay here snowboarding next year. We will definitely be back to stay again!!
Pleasantly surprised with how nice the hotel was considering the rate we got. At $50 a night through another traveling agency I could not be happier. Very neat hotel although also odd in its construction. Only downside ia no continental breakfast or ovens.
Bed was horrible, couldn't sleep more than 1 hour before waking in pain. Housekeeping didn't come, called front desk and was told "let me call them and see if they're going to make it to you today". Finally they sent a kid up with towels, but not toiletries. Noise was horrible, no insulation and could hear everything from the hallway where the hot tubs are, every step from the room above and even people just walking by in hall.
The Christy Lodge is fine. It is clean with a warm family feel. The building has a large interior atrium connected all the rooms. They have an indoor and outdoor pool. There is a Subway and Pho returant connected, so you can get dinner without leaving the building. There is also a place to do laundry. They are working hard to rennovate and upgrade, my room had a strange layout because you walk into the bedroom first and then to the living and kitchen space, but this is not terrible
Hard to go wrong with the price at The Christie, and the rooms are satisfactory all the way through. We stayed here in the summer for a few days and found the location to be close enough to walk to the Beaver Creek shuttle and grocery store. Vail resort is only a 10-15 minute drive away and the highway is close by. Recommended for those willing to stay off mountain and looking for a good value hotel.
A great place to stay while visiting Avon/Vail. It is well maintained but some maintenance is going on in the east wing that can wake you up if you sleep past 8am. The beds kind of hard. I would rate them as between medium and firm but more towards firm. They have pull out couches, mini kitchen, balcony, dinning room table, 2 TVs (though they are only 720p and look like they were bought in 2003).
One extremely nice feature they have is every room has it's own wifi network. No more open networks worrying about someone you don't know snooping on you when not using VPN. They have three indoor hot tubs that I can see and one indoor pool (which is closed as of this writing), one outdoor pool and one outdoor hot tub. Some of the parking in the back is closed for maintenance so we're couldn't bring our ATVs on trailers which was disappointing. They do have a workout room that is open now. It has a treadmill, bike, multifunction weight rack, and a lot of dumbbells though no fans in there. They have a Subway and another restaurant in house. It is one block away from a very good City Market grocery store and Walmart a little further down.
Probably the biggest thing about this place to note is that this place has a tonne of steps. They do have ramps for those that need it but expect a lot of steps.
All staff we encountered were fantastic and extremely accommodating. They have a 24 hour front desk and Mariah took excellent care of us. The facility is beautiful with several hot tubs, a fitness center, and even an indoor firepit
Gave this a lot of thought and their is just a hard place to review. To keep it simple: plusses are the friendly staff, cheap rates, location, on site Charter Sports (great staff!) and skiier express shuttle stop to BC village right out front. Minuses are the odd layout that everyone comments on (both building layout & room layout), the weird 80's vibe, the dated rooms and the economy feel that you just can't shake here. If value and price are important, give it a try. If updated or nice accommodations are what you're looking for, look elsewhere. No hard feelings, just wouldn't stay again.
Great place with a Wes Anderson vibe. Amazing location, four pillows on the queen bed and strong hot water. Also, if you have a really off day and manage to drop your keys down the storm drain, the maintenance team will help you get them out....
Staff is wonderful. They helped us get around the area and always had a smile.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 was that there was no central air. Just one by the fire place and for you to get air in the bedroom you have to open the door that is parallel to the 70 expressway and place a fan by the door.
I do understand that this is more of a winter town so we worked with it.
My family and I have been going to the Christie Lodge for the last 15 years. It's Always a Great Experience! The staff and housekeeping are awesome. It's always nice to enjoy Monday wine night and get to know other people staying at the Christie Lodge! Great for Families or Adult Time!
Weird building, but the staff was friendly and our room was very clean. The front desk staff were especially helpful, even when a very rude woman seemed not to understand basic hotel procedures. They were very accommodating and had many nice amenities that we didn't have time to use. We would stay again.
Love the convenience and proximity to Beaver Creek. Great indoor pools and spas. Comfy beds and courteous staff. Best-kept secret in the Valley Valley.
We stayed at The Christie Lodge over the Thanksgiving Holiday. We arrived early and were let into our room early. The front desk clerk was super friendly and conducted business fast. They were very knowledgeable about the area and offered many options for dining and shopping. The concierge desk supplemented anything beyond the front desk clerk s level of familiarity.
Throughout our stay, we would ski all day and unwind in the pool and hot tubs in the evenings. There were also ping pong and shuffle board tables available for guests use, free of charge. The entire common areas were well heated and comfortable for walking around in shorts and flip flops.
Overall, the lodge exceeded our expectations. The price was well below average for the area, utilizing the Armed Forces Vacation Club. We will definitely be back.
Tip: The Avon shuttle arrives every 15-30 minutes, right outside the front doors of the lodge, depending on the season. It will drop you off at the front of the Beaver Creek Lodge/ski area. Utilize the bus, in order to avoid paying for parking at the Bear or Elk lots.
A lovely setting just minutes west of Vail and immediately below Beaver Creek Mtn. They are constantly striving to improve the property. Their staff is very helpful if you have a question about the area or a problem on the property. Been coming here for over 25 years. It's my home away from home! And if you are in the market for a timeshare, this place is one of the best values out there. Since we own 2 weeks, we "bank" one of them and have easily exchanged it elsewhere including Florida and Hawaii. The annual dues are significantly lower than the average of equal properties. The same is true is you simply want to rent for a few days or a week. I highly recommend The Christie Lodge.
