Great staff. Very friendly. Beautiful hotel with tons of amenities and activities. Only one small issue. Parking seemed very limited for such a large hotel. We'd love to stay there again.
Great location. Place is older but they have redone some of the one bedroom units. 3 stars is for the 20 year old mattress! Could get comfy
Stayed there one night to ski at the Beaver Creek.
Overall: meh. It's kinda old and weird in terms of structure, and too tight. And it's not that cheap for what is being offered.
But I wouldn't care much about that. But there are a few things that didn't go so well with things that I do care about.
First of all, shower doesn't have enough pressure, so it just sort of sprinkles you with drops of water.
Second - beds or linens or matresses or something about them is not right. My bed was not comfortable at all. I wouldn't say I got a good rest before hitting the mountain.
The internet was extremely slow. Couldn't even scan through the news.
Additionally, check out at 10 seems a little bit too early. Although, I wouldn't care.
I would definitely come to Avon more, and I would probably not stay at the Christie.
Friendly staff, decent rooms. The walls are not very well soundproofed, we heard voices and things hitting the floor all night, not to mention cars going by outside. Also, the pull out couch bed had the thinnest and lumpiest mattress I've ever seen. The parking is good, there's not much room in front of the building but they have a whole garage behind. They were also able to accommodate our late check-out request. Really fast WiFi as well.
This place was very accommodating and the staff was really nice. It's right in the middle of the village so it's close to everything. I was able to walk everywhere when I needed it. The price wasnt too bad either so that's a plus. I would definitely come back again.
Bought lunch at the Subway, then went into the indoor courtyard, found a place to sit and eat while charging cell phones, restrooms were nice and clean.
Overall a pretty good place to stay really cool hot tubs through out the hotel. Central location to local places. The beds feel like they are as old as the hotel and the rooms have electrical issues.
They have done a great job updating the rooms. It's a good value for the valley. Service is good. Friendly staff which you don't always get in the mtns.
Nice fancy place. Wood floor and small kitchenette but worakable. Nice fire place and fancy bathroom. Small storage. Weird floor plan set up, probably better if that the bedroom I'd not close to the door you can hear walking and children running. But the place is great.
Note. Not a wheelchair friendly....
Nice place, wish I had time for the jacuzzi... rooms are sizable. bit pricey but great for travelers who want comfort more than price. main thing that could be improved is that there is no central air and the a/c unit takes time to cool down the room in the summer, especially if you want to sleep in the bed which is a room over from the a/c unit. lobby area is a little hard to find as well, and not clearly marked on the maps scattered on the premises. the common areas are beautiful though and would be great for a wedding party or small (<500 person) convention.
Very nice rooms and service. The setup is kind of insane with really odd staircases that seem to be put in for no reason (it's seriously like an MC Escher drawing) but I think it adds to the charm. The front desk explained that the rooms are modular and were brought in premade so the stairs were put in after the fact to create access to the rooms. Looks crazy but it works.
This place charged 500.00 to my charge card without my permission, we didn t even stay at the Christy, Adam the desk manager let this Fraud charge take place. He is very unprofessional and the customer service is a complete joke!
Place was pleasant and comfortable if alone. Quite noisy throughout the morning with kids running around out of control, no parental supervision. Administration not trustworthy, late with providing information on changes after initial agreements. Contract 1 week after discussing and agreeing to terms, but changes made without informing. Lack of consideration. Only out for the money not the guest. Staff on the other hand were great, pleasant and cordial. Place was clean and convenient.
Inside the room was nice. Staff was hit and miss - some wonderful some shouldn't work with the public. Floor in room had several dips in it - remodel gone bad? When you run coffee pot lights dim.
Great place. Close to everything you need. Nice remodeled rooms.
Night Shift Desk Service Extermly Rude and Not Professional- Family Vacation- Several rooms reserved and verified all correct upon my arrival. The Front desk was made aware family members would arrive at different times didn't seem there would be a problem issuing keys. As the last two family members arrived the evening/shift declined releasing the rooms due to name on acct. Had the front desk done a proper pass down this situation would not had occurred. My family members were extermly tired after a long day and was told no other rooms were available however my family member challenged the desk clerk as the front of the building stated rooms were available. After all that, the clerk then provided him a room however was not the room that was orignally reserved for him. (Note-The other family member that was waiting to get their room was provided one of the original rooms that had been reserved) The clerk decided to put my family member that challenged him in a substandard hotel room that was not updated to a condo. This rooms was not even in the same building as all the other family members. After finding out all this I went down the next day to the front desk to find that my family member would have been charged for the hotel room had I not verified. My family member, wife and his 4 children stayed for the full week in a substandard room they call condo that has no normal or mid size refrigerator, no cook top and no dishwasher. We had paid for a condo not a hotel room. Very disappointed in the service and room provided.
The service is great. I highly recommend staying here with the 3 hot tubs.
Outdated on the outside but clean and modern on the inside kitchenette rooms. Lots of indoor and outdoor swimming options and loads of restaurants in walking distance. All very close to the Green Mile.
We stayed here in a summer weekend and we loved it. The room was specious and we found everything clean. The view was not so great as we got a room on the first floor facing the covers parking. We had to request for an extra set of blankets and we got it promptly. Thank you for that. Only one complaint we had was the air-conditioning. We found the room hot and a bit stuffy and the portable AC unit was too noisy and not enough for the entire suit.
It's an inviting place to stay but the place is old and it shows. The pool is quite small for actual swimming, but it, along with the 3 hot tubs are great for general relaxing after a day of skiing.
Pool and amenities were very nice. Building felt homey. Rooms were efficiently laid out. The bed is actually the worst bed I have ever been on in a hotel. Also our drain was clogged when we got there. They sent out a repair man soon after a shower standing in water but he didn't clean up the debris he pulled from the drain.
Besides those two things this was a nice peaceful hotel and I would recommend it.
Weirdest hotel ever. Our room was on the first floor, 5 feet away from the edge of the pool. Whole lobby smelled of heavy cholorine. As soon as you walk in the room door you're in the bedroom. Power went out in the hotel on our first night there for a few hours....
Have been coming here for decades. Enjoy the location and amenities. Bedrooms now have ceiling fans. Well maintained building and it gets regular remodeling. The kids miss the arcade. Only wish is a coffee shop on premises.
It really needs updating. The most disappointing part was soon after check in. There is only one set of elevators. You have to carry the luggage through the spread out resort, even if your room is in 3rd floor. Worst part is there are level changes and stairs on the same floor. Not fun when you have luggage for 4 people, for a week! Things got better from there. Resort amenities are few but maintained. Attached Vietnamese restaurant is good. Service if you need something is quick and staff is polite and friendly. Parking is ample, but you may have to drive around in the back, looking for it ( a pain if you are the in bitter cold as we were)
Overall, not bad. Worst part was the post check in experience.
I only gave it a 3 star because it really needs to be updated. The pools and hot tubs were not in the best shape. The rooms were definitely disappointing. One stovetop burner no oven. But for management I have to give the front desk manager a big thank you for trying to help us with our timeshare mess up.
Good clean room, bed was just a bit stiff for my liking. Awesome little deck!
Totally amazing. For the price, I could have gotten a decent basic bed and breakfast. Instead I got so much more. A spa, a library, a small condo. The room was ten times better than a comperable hotel of the same price. Full kitchenette, beautiful bathroom, two televisions, a subway, a Vietnamese noodle place...I was blown away.
Stay here. You won't regret it.
Rooms were very nice and cozy and has a great balcony
While I understand they're undergoing construction, nails strewn across the stairwells, uneven torn carpeting, and a generally apathetic front desk certainly didn't impress. Most every wall is scuffed and worn, and nothing quite seems to fit right. (The stairway bannisters can NOT be up to code)
Convenient and comfortable
Not fancy but good location and people
Lodge let construction crew start working at 8:15 AM, if not sooner. Paying guests get to enjoy the sound of saws and hammers right outside their rooms. Completely unprofessional and discourteous. Also a lot of building noise at night -- low rumbling noise coming off and on every few minutes. Do not waste your money on this place.
Location was great. We arrived Later in the night and the staff was very rude. The morning staff was helpful.
I've been coming here for 20 years. It's not super fancy but it's Great! Conveniently located, nice outdoor pool, ski shop, walk to all great resteraunts and stores nearby. Rooms are nice, people are great. Family friendly!
Love the indoor pools and hot tub long with games like table shuffleboard. Convenient to everything in Avon and a stop on the skier shuttle!
In the middle of remodeling. Room is decent price is great.
Very nice resort. Especially for the price in Avon. The rooms are set up perfect for multiple people staying in the same room. It's almost like having two bedrooms in one. Murphy bed was very comfortable for a pull out.
The rooms are clean and the availability of hot tubs was nice. All the staff have been friendly and helpful.
Quite, clean, friendly staff. Price is a little much. They have indoor outdoor spas and pools a gym. Nice place and very helpful staff.
Not your typical hotel layout. Really interesting and unique. The upgraded rooms were nice.
Shower and sink drain filled to the brim with disgusting mangles of hair, our room smelled like a combination of sperm and cigar smoke, AND BED BUGS!!!! Disgusting place never stay. I was bitten throughout the whole night and eventually captured a bed bug. The employees were nice about it but still an extremely grotesquely indaqeute room. I am going to have to go through an extensive decontamination process thanks to the lack of hygiene this room provided. This place was booked through AIRBNB and I m just horrified by the conditions.
Stayed in recently remodeled one bedroom unit! Very nice!
Beautiful hotel with nice rooms and kitchen area. Lots of restaurants to choose from inside the hotel grounds. I would absolutely recommend this for anyone!
The Christie Lodge is by far everything you need in a long stay accommodation. We were pleasantly surprised with the kitchenette amenities, the efficiency of the A/C unit, the spaciousness of the entire room, and the views from the balcony. The staff was very friendly and our room was cleaned to the most professional and hospitable degree. The room is clearly updated with granite countertops, new carpet, updated furniture, and new decor. On the third floor, noise was never an issue. If climbing stairs is a challenge, then you may want to request a room by the elevators. Otherwise, burning calories is awesome! The Lodge is perfectly located within walking distance of fun shops and exquisite dining. We would definitely stay here again, or recommend the Christie Lodge to our friends and family!
Good WiFi great rooms was able to connect my Xbox and play on live had some cell phone coverage issues but overall it was great
The floors in the unit we stayed in had filthy floors
Nice quite place, staff is helpful. Can't wait to come back next year.
They claim this is a 3 star hotel. Maybe in 1970. The lobby is clean, the building from the outside looks good, the room was a joke. And it smelled. When I went to the travel show, they told me to ask questions. This is what your get when you do not.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Building is huge and took a while to learn the layout of the place. Decor somewhat dated. Weird rules for the fireplace. Good value for the money.
The Christie Lodge is always clean and well-maintained. The staff is friendly, helpful, and AVAILABLE! We go back year after year.
Wonderful place to stay. We had a private bedroom in our suite that included a kitchen. The staff was absolutely amazing! Each suite had its own wifi as well. Multiple Jacuzzis! Numerous propane gems outside. Definitely staying here again!
Nice big rooms ans clean! Restaurants all around or you can just buy food and cook it in your room.
Nice place with lot of amenities. Outdoor heated pool was a big bonus. Couple more elevators towards the ends would be nice. Its not wheel chair accessible. It was very difficult to carry heavy suitcases and bags up the stairs in the same level.
The room was pretty good but the layout was weird. A stove or hot plate would have been nice. But overall the place was quite Cozy. Take a room not facing the highway if available.
$300/night you d expect anything BUT an exact replica to an outdoor motel that has tired decor, unenthusiastic staff, and paper thin walls. Super sad to say but this place is a motel at best and you ll have a very hard time feeling any resemblance of home here :/
Skip it or ask for a very good rate. Very run down. Should be torn down or gutted. Extremely dated rooms. Owners are not investing back in the property which is a shame for them and a shame for Avon the town.
We are having a wonderful stay for our anniversary vacation. Cool, natural, relaxed vibe with sun atrium center hall and live plants throughout. Fun fishing everyday. You could do even more activities. We just love to go out and fish. Provided what we needed down to the salt & pepper. Wonderful restaurants nearby. Nice pool and hot tub availability. Great friendly service and clean. Remodeled room was a nice surprise. We used the fans only and loved the fresh mountain air! Highway noise was only draw back. Just had to shut the balcony door sometimes.
Lodge is nice, most rooms are updated and very nice but those that are not updated are old and run down. Ask for newer room.
Nice lodge, the couch pullout bed is uncomfortable.
Clean hotel with interesting ambiance. Worth visiting.
Okay so I stayed here July 15th to July 22nd 2017 in room 359. The front desk staff was friendly efficient and knowledgeable. I have to tell you this is a funky older Hotel probably built in the late 70s with doors that go nowhere and stairs that stop halfway to your destination but it is all part of the charm of this interesting place. The indoor hot tubs and swimming pools I'm sure are quite welcome in a deep winter with cold temperatures. There is also an outdoor pool and hot tub and outside barbecues. Our room was clean but severely outdated and in need of a more practical stylish upgrade but I was glad to be there every day after a long hike. We were there in the summer time and it was in the 90s so our room on the third floor was quite warm but they have put in portable air conditioning units that almost do the job. The maintenance and Maid staff were excellent our room was always well taken care of and the maid staff was very generous with their amenities and towels. The layout of the room was very odd and the doors do not open all the way and honestly the bedroom and kitchen area should be switched it's just a sign of an older design concept. As we were there to backpack and hike ( such as the Holy Cross) we were not in our room a lot . If we revisit this area and we can find something competitively-priced for a week's stay we will try a different accommodation but all in all with the price we paid for a full week I found this funky Hotel to be just fine...
Somewhat outdated interior that feels like the 1980s, although they are in the process of re-doing all the rooms. The price is right.
It is totally unfair NOT to have an overall evaluation of this or any other place without asking oneself this question : did I , Overall get my moneys worth? yes. yet, at four times the cost, I could have four seasons would have giving me more ( for example only) . I did not being my family to the hotel but to visit Vail and it surroundings. so great place an d got a lot more for my money.
the staff though is awesome.
It s really nice lodge! But since I am deaf the only thing is missing is Close Captain on TV. So I end up not watching TV much. It is ADA friendly. Just need to do a little better. Love this place and I would highly recommend this place to family and friends.
Enjoyable stay. The bed was little lumpy but my sleeping bag made it comfortable. Our condo was nice inside and updated. We enjoyed the heated indoor pool and hot tub.
Loved the apartment! It was awesome. Have no complaints about anything.
First night of 6. Rooms smaller than expected but seem nice enough.
Don't give them your business!!
My Partner and I were scheduled to check in on March 1st 2020 for 2 nights, on Feb 25th he was diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia and order by the Doctor at UC Davis in Sacramento to bed rest and no altitudes in the near future. I called the Christie Lodge in Avon, CO on Feb 26th and asked them if I provided a Doctors letter if they would give us a refund.
They refused and basically said too bad! Then the lady on the phone said "maybe we"ll see you on your next trip" yea right! The Christie Lodge Kept our $468.00 and we never got to the lodge.
Very petty and unprofessional, I called Expedia who we booked it through and they were no help what so ever, the man at Expedia told us with a Doctors letter it falls under extraordinary circumstance and that the lodge should refund us the monies.
What a huge rip-off!!!!

The staff was excellent upon arrival to the lodge. The rooms were well kept and ours happened to be newly remodeled. Location was perfect as well. It was within walking distance to most surrounding areas. Would recommend to anyone.
Old building. Indoor hot tub and pool. Rooms are a little old. Got 4" of snow overnight and Beaver Creek was awesome
I couldn't be more satisfied with the cleanliness and accommodations for the price. Yes, the property is a little older, however they keep it very very clean and it is open and bright. Wifi, laundry, pool, hot tubs, indoor public areas and lots of nearby restaurants and shuttle runs from the hotel. Bedroom matress was not as firm as I like. Bathroom was completely upgraded. Given its location, cost and ameneties, it's a 5 star stay.
Nice lodge - a little bit dated, but clean, great amenities, great staff and great location.
Great distance from Beaver Creek, 6 min walk to lower Beaver Creek lift. However the exterior room walls are thin and you can hear noise from the hall
Christie has 1 and 3 bedroom condos. Our 1 bd was recently renovated. Christie has lots of common areas w/hot tubs, pools, Subway, rental car company, free bus stop just outside. Warning Christie has tons of STAIRS!
Not new, not very nice - but a great location to ski at Beaver Creek.
