I had a house fire 10/7/20. My adjuster quit during the process and lighthouse haven t reassigned a new adjuster, I ve called several times , left several messages.I only can get in touch with their customers service dept , which tells you they can t help but will pass the message on, Now my claim is left in cyber land and my family left on the streets!!!

In the 20 years of having home insurance, this is by far the worst home insurance company. Please do not use them. I hope they will go out of business soon because unethical business practices will not last long without being exposed. Please do not waste your money and time with this company. I paid in full for the whole year(2020). They sent my agent a request for more information (it was not clear at all what they needed) and provided a cancellation date. I asked my agent to get me a quote from another home insurance company and I cancelled w/Lighthouse. Instead of sending me a check for the prepaid 10 months of this year, they recently sent me a payment request. I will report Lighthouse to the BBB if I do not get my refund. I have never seen anything like this before. Please shop around and do not use Lighthouse. They will take your money and cancel your home insurance.
The worst. As soon as you need their help they will come up with excuses not to cover your loss, and then they will cancel your coverage. What's the point of paying insurance if they won't cover your loss when you actually need it?
This company issued a policy in my husbands name and withdrew money from our escrow account. We had never even heard of this company. It took me over 18 months to get our money back and Lighthouse was nothing but uncooperative. Since the policy was only issued in my husbands name for some reason they frequent refused to talk with me even though I was made an authorized user on the account several times. Some people would talk to me and then the next one would say they broke their own privacy policy by doing that.
Lighthouse Insurance Company has been giving me a runaround since Oct 11 and it is now Feb 19 and we have yet to see anything in claims payouts except a small advance on out of pocket living expenses. We have now accrued well over 8 thousand dollars in living expenses and more than twice that in contents loss that we have had to replace and all we get is no response, ignored messages, promises that are unfulfilled, promises that checks are mailed and that there are no faster methods, then sending the check to the wrong address which seems to be their M.O. per other reviews. I am going to file complaints with the Florida and Texas dept of insurance for their bad faith practices.
THIS COMPANY .. continues to be outstanding in their field! My clients have been very happy with the superior service & attention to detail. I appreciate the individual assessment per home, per client, per claim. Innovation in the business, keeping up with trends is difficult & Lighthouse does this & makes my day job a passion.
They came out claimed our roof was damaged and if we didn't fix it they would drop us. We called out a roofer he said it was from storm damage, and need to be replaced. We made a claim they said they felt the roof only needed minor repairs and was just worn down and the cost should be under our deductible for repairs and thus they won't cover the rest. Since they refused to do anything about it they said we were no longer covered. Aweful company that will tried to weasel out of paying out for anything. They didn't even cover us being broken into as "thier" estimate for everything lost or damaged was under our deductible.
kind of strange that most bad reviews come from actual customers and great reviews come from insurance agents that somehow benefit from selling policies from this company. I just got a quote from them today and since I had never heard from that company I decided to research about it, I am glad I did. I''ll keep looking.
This company is not worth it. You can never get a call back or response from them the managers refuse to call you. Had a roof claim and asked to see the inspection report and was told the report is a private property of the company and that they where not required to show it to me ( even though it was for a claim on my roof).
This insurance company is the worse. You have a better chance getting hold of Jesus Christ on the phone than this people. My roof was damaged by a storm and they sent someone over here who said to me the whole roof is damaged but the insurance came back with half a roof repair, it don t make sense. Then after having multiple inspectors come to verify what is really going on. They refuse to pick up or return my call till now. Trash company with garbage employees

I've only lived in my new home for 5 days when the water heater suddenly busted. Half of my house is saturated in water and I had to turn off the main water line to stop the flow of water. My wife called to make a claim, saying that our house is unlivable with 4 kids without water turned on. The person taking the claim couldn't have cared less, even saying that the adjuster will get back with us in a couple of business days even though we don't FREAKING HAVE RUNNING WATER. My wife told her that she is afraid that we won't be taken care of because she started reading reviews of the company while placed on hold. The claim lady said, "well, I only deal with claims, not that other stuff." So there you have it, folks. Absolutely stay away from this company and don't be idiots like we were. We just went with what our insurance broker signed us up for.
Be ready to take some High Blood Pressure pills when you deal with this company! I paid $2,400.00 for a 2018 policy for rental home in Humble Texas. I received notice in mail that my policy was terminated 2 weeks prior. You're lucky if you get someone to help but the reason for cancellation? The request to underwriter from BCA Insurance to submit documentation that pool was secure & maintained never replied! Lighthouse never contacted me. To this day I have not received a callback Good news is I found someone else with same coverage for $326.00. Not only do they answer the phone, you will call you back! I hope you see this Brian a supervisor from Lighthouse that lied about getting to the bottom of this and promised to call me back!!
Lighthouse has been a wonderful carrier to work for. I ve seen firsthand how we all treat our insureds and agency partners like family. Each person matters to everyone in every department. I went through Florence myself living in North Carolina and our claims department really stepped up to the plate!
WORST insurance ever. I was suppose to receive an refund check and surprise, surprise it was lost in the mail. It took Forever to figure out what happened to the check/if it was cashed and a month later I'm still trying to get my refund. Because I never got the refund there was a shortage in escrow and I had to pay the difference and then get my mortgage to do a escrow analysis. Its still NOT RESOLVED USE ANOTHER PROVIDER

Lighthouse offers a great home policy that includes water back up, water damage, and foundation coverage! They are always looking to get better at anything they can do within the organization.
Sent a letter saying they were going to cancel our policy 6 weeks after we closed on our first house, and paid for a year in advance. Tried to contact someone to figure out what the problem was and all I got were automated messages trying to sell me more coverage and voicemails that were never returned. I really wanted to keep using them for insurance, but I cant even get them to call me back. My wife is stressed, I am frustrated if 0 starts were an option that is how I would rank them.
This company is a scam. They don t reply calls and if you call they will put to frustration of automated voice machine. We have been calling them for 3 days and no one have ever even call us back. Don t do business with these people. It will makes matters worst when you need help with your home claim.
Company never contacts you regarding questions on your policy (even though you have had it for years) then cancels it without letting you know. Customer service is super unhelpful as well and refuses to provide any sort of assistance.
DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! CHEAP(ish) PREMIUMS DON'T DO YOU ANY GOOD IF THEY'RE NOT THERE WHEN YOU NEED THEM! I've had insurance through Lighthouse for several years, with no claims. Out of the blue, they send an inspector to come take pictures of my house. The inspector's report says there is "some lifting" of the shingles on my roof, but didn't list that in the summary of "adverse conditions" because it isn't bad enough to be an issue. A month later, I got a cancellation notice from Lighthouse with the reason "missing shingles." There are NO missing shingles on my roof! So, here's their game: insure you for a few years, collect your premiums, then as the odds begin going up that there may be a claim, cancel you for whatever bogus reason they can think of. Read all the reviews from their customers before you decide to do business with them! Every review for at least the last year is 1 star, noting their terrible track record of not covering losses, lying about communication, not returning calls of customers who need help, etc., etc. The VAST majority of the good reviews are from agents who are paid by these crooks!
I have worked with Lighthouse Property Insurance as a local agency owner since late 2015 and they are a GREAT partner to me and my staff. They go above the rest to take care of their agents and insureds. They have continued to show us that they will do the right thing. I highly recommend this company to all of our customers!!
Only gave one star because there isn't anything lower, like negative stars. Sold a piece of property in Jan. and called to cancel coverage. They asked for it in writing. Did that. Then they come back and demand copy of sale papers (?). I read policy and nowhere does it state that I would have to provide what I believe to be personal info to cancel. I called the company several times to ask why they needed this info. Was told by three different reps (Alma, Ariana and Kiari) that only a written request is needed and I did not need to send sale info. I sent a second request because they claimed not to get the first one. This was Jan thru early Feb time period. Heard nothing. Called again and spoke to "BJ". She said I had to send copies of property sale or proof of new policy before they would cancel and send a refund. She rudely stated that if I did not, the policy would not be canccance as if the sale date and that was that. This company's reps are apparently poorly trained as I was given different info from everyone there on several occasions.. I would not believe anything any of them say. Seems like a great way for them to hold on to whatever refund due as long as possible while making their customers jump through hoops. I will also contact our state's insurance commissioner and lodge a complaint against them.
Our agency has been selling Lighthouse Homeowner Insurance for several years now and they are one of our top choices. We quote every home through them due to their low rates, excellent customer service, and outstanding claims. The homeowner and dwelling policies come with all the bells & whistles. We have nothing but good luck with this carrier. We love them.
WORST EXPERIENCE i have had with Insurance company in 40+ years. I had a claim for a hot water heater that burst & over flowed down the 2all to the kitchen. For over 4 months now we have been back & forth with the check, which they depreciated so much we ended up basicalky paying the bulk along with the deductible. We here we are Dec 1st after going back in forth about our check was sent, then sent to the wrong address, then it was returned, then they have one floating somewhere they claim they sent. We boom, we get a check Nov 12th we deposit it & wouldnt you know, these people put a stop payment on it so now my regular bills crossed over with this & my account is in the negative, so we have been charged the $35 fee for being overdrafted. Why in the hell would you put a stop payment on a ch# you gave me over the phone & said this is the check to cash. Well the board of Insurance has been following 5his case along with the Better business bureau, of whom they ARE NOT a member. They have already depreciated us down to nothing, now to add insult to injury we have a check they placed a stop payment on. This WILL NOT be the end of our filing against them on so many inappropiate & illegal practices i cannot mention for various reasons. We had an issue with EVERY company they provided, lies, cheats & no shows, bad 2ork ethics. Get as far a2ay from this Company and get a well know name company who stands behind their work, & promises. They definitely should be out of business. Beware!!!!!

Absolutely horrible company to do business with. They get their check every year but then when you need them they are AWOL. Filed a claim which had a rush placed on it, took them weeks to respond just to tell me I m SOL. Zero empathy, zero communication and utterly lazy the whole process. Would never recommend doing business with them.

I am not sure how this company is still in business. When it comes to home insurance, you pay a lot of money over time for a company to cover you in case of an emergency. This company will not.
So far so good! The deductible was WAY less than what my other company could offer, and the rates we also better! I know there is more to insurance policies than just that, but it also seemed to cover more things.
Been with them for 7 years, and first time had to call in a claim over a week ago and said would be contacted in 48 hours. 5 Days later no contact, called back, left message, still no contact. So far NOT so good
If I could give 0 stars I would! Their customer service stinks. You can never get hold of anyone, they either turn the phones off early or let it ring through for well over 30 minutes. If you do get hold of someone and they can t help you they just hang up rather than providing customer support. This company is a joke.

Shittiest service ever I called yesterday and I was put on hold for 30 minutes and I don t have all day so I just ended the call then today I called and same thing I was on hold for 25 minutes and then I called with my other number and they picked up how my I help you lmao my ass I told them I m on hold on my other one and they have the AUDACITY to say ma am we can t find your file I ve been insurred with them for 3 years and they never even had a file for me what type of nonsense is this definitely switching companies
Lighthouse canceled my policy because they didn t like the type of dog I have. They told me to get rid of him or find a new policy. Easiest decision I ve ever made. This is a mom and pop shop and I wouldn t trust them to have my back in case of emergency. All State gave me a cheaper rate with much better customer service. Oh and I can keep my dog.
I cannot say enough amazing things about this company. From their customer service to their quality control. They go above and beyond to reach out and help their customers. They are personable and professional. I would recommend them to anyone looking for wonderful service as an insurance carrier.
I have serious concerns about communications, quality control, customer service, and processing speed at Lighthouse Property Insurance Corporation. Buyer beware! While you may find attractive premium rates, in my experience, they may be more than offset by rigid rules [ We don t do direct deposit or wire transfers into customers accounts, even when we have made the mistake. (Customer service rep, Lighthouse, 7/25/2019)]. Lighthouse has required that I pay two half-year premium payments prior to selling the home I had insured with them, even though my 1st payment covered a period two months beyond the sale date. After selling the home, they needed a copy of the closing documents, which is understandable; however, they also needed a paper form certifying why I needed the premium refund. i had to wait to receive a paper form which I had to complete, have witnessed, not to mention the difficulty of finding non-related witnesses (without valid drivers licenses yet) in an unfamiliar neighborhood in a different state. And, of course, the form had to be returned to the insurance agency 1st, before they forwarded it to Lighthouse. I had to wait for approximately a month before the refund check was cut and put in the mail. I received the check seven days after the date on the check. But, that isn t the worst of it: After waiting all that time, Lighthouse Property Insurance Corporation prepared the $3,500 check and used an incorrect first name with the correct last name. We were not able to cash the long-awaited check, given the incorrect first name (not a spelling error, but an entirely wrong name). The company - after two phone calls from me to their customer service department and a promised return phone call from the customer service department supervisor that never happened - stopped payment on the original check and told me that I should have a new check in another week. They refused to overnight the check, saying it was not their policy. I even offered to pay the overnight mailing fee. No go. They refer to this as an expeditied check. I think of this as an inexcusable piece of poor customer relations. My experience with this company has been abysmal (poor communications, heavy on paperwork, little concern about customers, and incredibly slow). Worse, though, and most concerning to me is their apparent lack of quality control. Did no one match the name on the check to the name on the insurance policy? I never had a need to file a claim with this company. I wonder if these same deficiencies would occur in the claims filing process.
Same here, Im a contractor doing work for a homeowner who has a policy with Lighthouse. I've been dealing with insurance companies for over 10yrs and this is by far the worst when is comes to filing a claim. You never can get anybody on the phone. Always asking you to leave a message and call back number. I have left a message for 5 days in a row and nothing!!!
I ve been dealing with the nightmare of committing to a contractor and my final payment not coming in from this company. No one returns my calls, my adjuster said payment was on the way for a month and a half now. When you talk to the operator she doesn t even show that my check was released. No one helps they just leave urgent messages and assure you that someone will get to the bottom of it and no one ever does. There have been 2 other hurricanes since this claim and yet I still have no final payment. I will definitely be switching to a company that has better customer service.

Received a non-renewal notice today. Reason for non-renewal was EXCESSIVE LIABILITY EXPOSURE, UNDISCLOSED DOGS ON PREMISES, (The dogs were disclosed before the policy was issued), EXOTIC PETS (we don't have any exotic pets), LIVESTOCK (unless chickens are livestock we do not have any livestock, regardless the chickens were disclosed), SADDLE ANIMALS OR FARM ANIMALS ON THE PREMISES ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR COVERAGE (There are horses on the adjoining property which is not on this policy. I suppose chickens are farm animals but once again that was disclosed). At this point I am happy to be leaving Lighthouse anyways, I was very unhappy with the method in which we were billed and their lack of communication. Just another company that does not care about their customers.

Well, I decided to look up reviews and to no surprise they aren t the best! Worst, rude adjuster came out. Didn t trust him. Talked circles and made no sense. Didn t listen when asked to go in the back yard last for pictures due to mud. Proceeded in the house with his shoes still on with no care. Called and found out he reported a water heater leak when it was a bathroom! Sent someone else out, it was much better. Now that we got partial check and repairs are done, I can t get ahold of our claims specialist to get the rest of the money! Wow, this is terrible. Multiple calls and voicemails and many emails with details on recipes and pics. NOTHING, no response. Not even a reply to say, working on it! I contacted our insurance agent because this is terrible
As a CUSTOMER/agent with this company I highly recommend them, i have never had a problem with the billing dept and being able to chat with someone over the chat feature is nice as well. The best part about this company is it's willingness to help the customer. Me being an agent as well as a customer i am coverage minded consumer, so i love the fact that i can get the package to cover my extras on my home. All in all My Choice For MY HOMEOWNERS.
Great company if you're looking for someone to show up at your house unannounced and then when you graciously take time off of work to allow them walk around your house, cancel your policy within a week of their visit.

I filed a claim in December 2018, in February 2019 I finally received payment. In April they contacted my agent and said they believe the breed of dogs on my property were in violation, I have a boxer and chuweenie, notified them immediately. In May they said my fence needed repair, a single picket, repaired and done. Today I was notified BY MY LENDER, they cancelled my policy due to breed of dog and fence repair, they claimed to have attempted to contact me, I have not recieved a single letter, phone call, email, voicemail. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE THEY ARE LIARS AND CHEATS PS, After this post they replied wanting more info to make amends, you cannot go back and change what you have done, you cannot change the decisions you made, and you certainly cannot make amends with anyone who has been victim of your deceptive trade practices. Besides the very first thing I did when I heard my policy was terminated, was to call your company and "try to work it out" all I got was more grief

NOT GOOD FOR Someone in Houston storming days after the hit. Possible gas link in the house and they give me nothing the run around. I have had total knee replacement surgery just a few months ago. No hot water no AC don't know if wires are safe to live in my house. But I was told that I dont have enough issue to stay in a hotel. I was told to buy fans.
