Best stay. Beautiful room. Helpful Staff. Great location
Room was great! Service was great! Bathroom was really big but for some reason the shower was tiny. Well worth it
Nice clean room, with a full bar inside, gym and yoga mat. Bathroom could be cleaner than it was. Location is convinient, good for an overnight stay. Rooftop lounge is nice with a decent midtown n manhattan views.
Views on 13th floor, but unobstructed and slick. Not 360, but pretty close (missing SW corner along Hudson). Door staff and bartenders were surprisingly friendlier than I'd expect for a euro-style rooftop, so that earns a star. But drink costs, ugh... $14 for regular beer, $21+ for cocktails. Higher than most other roofs, and that cancels out an earned star alone. Advice: Arrive before 10p on Friday and you'll have zen. After, you'll have stress.
I recently stayed at this hotel. I had to be moved twice because the spa shower leaked water through the walls and flooded the bedroom which had Carpet. The front desk moved us to another room which then had an air vent that only blew cold air on my child who has asthma (the heat didn t work).I was moved again and by that time I was over it. I had a miserable time and checked out before I originally intended to.
I was there for a social event at the rooftop. Beuatiful view and amazing drinks.
The staff here is clearly passionate about their hotel and their jobs. The hotel is classy ans beautiful. I am most appreciative that the rooms are spacious. And off the track enough the sidewalks aren't overcrowded but steps away from the hustle and bustle.
Staff in the lobby was very rude and kicked us out of the lobby when we were waiting for our friends to come down the elevator.
They've been amazing. The hotel is spotless and the room (city view studio king) is incredible. Highly recommended
Great place. Modern wi th an amazing restaurant as well as a very posh bar on the top floor.
It appears to be acceptable to both the front desk and security that very loud music is being heard on the north side, 7th floor of the building. I started hearing it around 4am, had to place two calls to get them upstairs to even hear it and their answer was sorry, this is New York City . This is absurd! There are laws against having loud music in the middle of the night but they told me the police wouldn t care. I guess the bottom line here is if you don t want the risk of hearing loud music in the middle of the night don t come here as it could happen and according to the staff and security that s just life! Thanks for all your concern Kimpton staff!
This was a great hotel to stay at for our first time in NYC. The location is walking distance to times square and the subways. Rooms were very clean and comfortable.
Great hotel in Hells Kitchen with great amenities with a restaurant that is actually good! What else can be said? Try to get a room on the higher floors because honking and yelling on the streets never seems to stop even into the wee hours of the night.
Very small and cramped. The staff couldn't have cared less about us being there. Stayed for 2 minutes to get a picture of the view and left. Overall horrible service and not recommended
Went to the rooftop bar to celebrate 3 birthdays including my own. The roof top was very nice had amazing views of the city. The atmosphere was very relaxing. The use of technology to help speed up the drink ordering process was very nice as well
Such a beautiful skyscraper view from Kimpton Ink48 Hotel
The hotel is very nice. I especially like the Hudson river suites, the views are amazing! BUT... DO NOT DINE HERE. Not downstairs, NOT UPSTAIRS, NOT ROOM SERVICE. They are all terrible and RUDE. I had stayer here previously and thought the terrible dining experiences were just a one off. IT WASN'T every single aspect was a disaster again. I really liked being charged ten bucks for a two iced teas only to be told that the food I ordered was unavailable. Thanks, way to go!
Great location, friendly staff, very nice room with a fantastic view.
We stay at a lot of kimptons and love them for our dogs. Unfortunately this hotel is not a good fit if you are driving. $70 a night for valet and the car takes 55 minutes to get after you request it. I hope they figure this out so we can come back.
Should ve just stayed home
Booked a one night stay at this hotel due to the location, the ratings, and for a mini staycation for my girlfriend. So many missed marks at this hotel, that if it wasn t for the heavy traffic and the hour it took us to find parking, we would ve just turned around and went home. Hotel front desk was consistently rude and dismissive. Upon check-in, the front desk agent did not greet us or look up once the entire time until he took my ID and credit card and fed it into the chip reader. Not until I had asked him what exactly what he was charging me for, that he finally looked up and ran through a spiel about a safety deposit and fee for hotel facilities which included WiFi, $10 credit for in room dining and on site restaurant, and printing up to a certain amount of pages. He went on quickly about getting to their rooftop bar and the hours of their bar and restaurant, without even stopping to take a breath. We could barely get a question in. We requested a higher floor and paid for a studio with a view but was given one on the 9th floor. The room was nice and clean with a decent view, despite the dirty windows and construction across the street which woke us up bright and early. They had an in-room minibar complete with drinks and snacks. I took a bag of gummy bears which totaled up to 9$, which I figured could be handled with the dining credit. Spoiler; it does not. No water or ice machines on the floor, so you re better off buying it from the convenience stores on the corner. The morning after, we realized we forgot toothbrushes. Made a call to front desk, and didn t get them until 20mins later. Causing us to almost miss check-out time. When we finally made it to front desk, the first agent I approached only responded with a no eye-contact (seems to be an ongoing theme here) and brisk, I m setting up. The desk agent at the end of the front desk called over and said I can assist you. Asked me for our room number even though I had already passed her the room key. She quickly printed out and handed me a receipt, without any explanations of the charges or any question of the quality of our stay. I was honestly so fed up and did not have the energy to argue. At this point I just wanted to get the hell out of Dodge.
Really amazing views of the city! Drink prices are pretty high.. but the views are worth it.
Location is good. Plenty of options for food within a short walk. Be sure to get a room as high up as you can for the views.
My friend and I went to the spacious rooftop for drinks and view of the city. The view was vivid and amazing. I definitely would come back here again.
I was at a coffee tasting testing site in the hotel.
Unfortunately my room is on the 3rd floor facing the 11th ave, so it was noisy as hell: people talking, car racing, horses passing by... I feels like I was sleeping on the street. I tried to switch my room to a higher floor or another window direction, and of course the front desk told me "all rooms were sold out for tonight, or you need to pay a fee to upgrade to better room". Then I asked for ear plugs and they couldn't give me any. "For safety regulations" they say. They also say this is a 4 star hotel, but it definitely owes me a good night sleep. Not coming back and wouldn't recommend to anyone don't like noisy sleep environment.
It was very nice, BUT they overfill the mini fridge with overpriced random items. And trying to open the fridge to put something I had in, one of the 30 bottles of beer fell out and broke, splattering beer all over my clothes and the carpet.
I cleaned it as best I could, and called maintenance. They came cleaned up the shards of glass. Upon checkout I reminded the clerk of what happened and she assured me on my asking that they would not charge me for the beer. I think it was a Heineken, and there was a $15 charge on my credit card for it a couple weeks later.
I really did like the room, and I would stay there again , but the charge bothered me. On top of a resort fee for a hotel whose Resort amenities- if there were any, I did not use.
Spent a night here after a trip to Yosemite. The citizen is a cute and well appointed hotel. The rooms are modern but blend well with the older style of the building. The bedding was super comfortable and we loved the big walk in shower. Political cartoons from the Sacramento bee grace the walls which is a nice touch considering the location.
We didn't eat at the onsite restaurant but the menu looked good. We did stop in for happy hour though and really liked the space. There is a temple coffee and a Starbucks nearby as well as maybe place to walk and eat at. Only complaint is that there were a number of people on the streets with the small parks nearby and such. There is only really street and garage parking nearby so if visiting best bet is to valet your car.
Nicely decorated hotel at convenient location, but rooms 206 to 214 are so close to the street level garbage collection point, expect to be waken up past midnight by the very, very loud noise from it.
Very expensive service charge and you get to hear loud construction sounds + clubbing noise during night. Location is not convenient. Service here is not great and expensive . You get less compares to what you normally get 4 stars hotel in nyc.
Not bad... Not Fantastic. Night Club upstairs has a spectacular view with a horrible beer selection. Bar tender up there was a complete Dick, but the rest of the hotel staff & service was very satisfactory!
The convenient location was important to us. Normal hotel for the money. The staff is helpful.
It's a beautiful rooftop bar (one of my favorites in Manhattan) and it is definitely worth one visit but I give it less stars because I had two bad experiences recently. In the past I would have without a doubt given it five stars but not anymore. Two is generous enough.
Two months ago I stayed at the hotel overnight with one change of outfit because I live a few blocks away (it was a special evening and we did a romantic staycation and splurged on a stay here). I changed in the morning to leave into the one outfit i brought and totally forgot to pack my worn dress from the night before. I called the hotel as soon as I realized it was missing to ask them to hold it for me so I can pick it up but got the most unnecessary run around. Not only did they transfer my calls many times from front desk to security to housekeeping to management, they returned my calls hours later to tell me it could not be found. Wth where does it go?!?! I filed a claim for my dress and they denied it with some self serving explanations.
Then I went yesterday to the rooftop to celebrate a wedding after party of my cousin and some guy standing by the rooftop access door said I couldn't go past him because of a "private event" happening at the roof top. I asked if the private event was the wedding after party and he did not know. I asked him if there was a real event if he didn't know what was going on and didn't know how to distinguish who to let pass or not but he didn't let me pass anyway. Ironically, there's another door just a few feet away without guard so I went through that one without issue. There was no event happening and the rooftop was actually wet from the rain and empty. Wth was his problem. Perhaps racist. Perhaps totally misinformed and incompetent.
This place was far better than we were expecting. On our next visit to NYC we will definitely have this place under consideration.
I loved this beautiful place. Come relax on rooftop and have great combination of drinks.
Excellent hotel and relaxing rooftop lounge with spectacular views.
The place is actually called The Press Lounge. It's at the top of the hotel on the roof and it is partially enclosed. A very classy intimate setting. Lots of comfy sofas and outdoor seating. Great views of Midtown. Service is very good, it's a relaxed atmosphere no pressure to buy drinks. If you want to make a nice impression on a date I would highly recommend press Lounge on top of ink48 hotel
Excellent location. Had a party on the "Heaven over Hell" Penthouse terrace for over 65 people. The food was excellent and the staff was wonderful!
Great rooftop bar with an excellent view of midtown, good drinks and comfortable seating.
Reasonably priced. Walking distance to Times Square and train station. Elegant; complimentary wine service in the afternoon; no breakfast included; incredible rooftop bar with outstanding views!
Was pleasantly surprised at the service. Valet, concierge, and attendants were all very attentive and polite, easy to get along with. Everyone was so kind to my little puppy. Reasonable price for a LOVELY room and no pet fee!
In-room dining was excellent! Beet salad was scrumptious, burger and fries did the job, plenty of little extras to buy, drinks and snacks. TV had limited channels due to connection issue.
Valet was trustworthy and quick service. Overall, great experience. Will be coming back with little doggo next time!
The hotel is nice. Staff are friendly. We paid extra for a room with a view but the building has scaffolding on. Also no tea or coffee facilities in the room.
Press club rooftop has fantastic views of west side
Beautiful views, strong but pricey drinks, no Redbull, classy feel.
The rooms are a great size. Service is impeccable. The view of the water is wonderful.
Spectacular hotel, beautiful view and nothing to complain about.
Lovely room. A little out of the way. Mattresses are fantastic.
a very clean hotel with a very father style, the best is the view of the best in the city ...
Love this place. Have stayed here multiple times, the staff is very kind and always there to help. We even got a surprise free upgrade for my friend's birthday weekend. The hotel is also very dog friendly if you have a pet. You wouldn't know it, because it's always spotless, except for the dog treats and water bowls scattered in key places in the hotel.
One of the best meals I've ever had!!! Can't wait to go back!!!
This is a NYC hidden gem. Very elegant, classy and with great views. I am a NYer who moved away and come back to visit friends often, this is the only hotel i would stay at. It is a bit off the main drag but at least it gives you room to breathe away from all the craziness.
Great rooftop bar with a views of the Hudson River, NJ and Manhattan's west side.
The staff are always super freindly and welcoming. The free wine at 5pm is always a great time. The rooms are amazing and have a nice modern feel to them.
Great place to have a nice conversation, enjoy the wonderful hell's kitchen atmosphere!
Hotel very comfortable. Situation central. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Stayed here for 4 nights and it was not a nice experience. Rooms are not well insulated so it doesn't take much noise to disturb your sleep. Bed was not comfortable either. Similar to a low end Fairfield Inn hotel. Too bad because this was my first time staying at a Kimpton. It looks nice but doesn't match comparable hotels at the same $$ point.
Pros: Great location - near the water, Gotham Hall is 2 blocks away, and close enough to the MTA. Close by the running paths along the Hudson River. Service was friendly (but not very helpful when I made them aware of the noise problems after the 1st night and during the 3rd night). Gym is good. Fresh fruit was provided at the gym. Also, coffee and tea were provided in the lobby in the morning.
Cons: Rooms are not well insulated from sound (at least room #611). First night, next door were partying til after 2am. Could hear 5-6 people yelling at times. Also heard construction noise from the street and truck traffic barreling down the street. Later realized the windows are single pane. Got very little sleep. Inquired about changing rooms in the morning. But the front desk gentleman said there were no other rooms for me. Also said the next room guests were checking out. So I thought maybe it would be better. Second night was better because the next door guests were gone. But could still hear construction and occasional street noise. Third night was okay. Probably too tired so fell asleep easier. The last night was a Thursday night. I could hear music and hollering at around 11:30 pm. I called the front desk and they said across the street on the 48th street side is a roof top nightclub. He apologized and said the hotel has complained but they have not done anything. He said last call is 130am. Those are the noise problems.
The rooms look fancy and have nice amenities. But I found the bed to be very uncomfortable and the sheets rough. Could not sink into a comfortable sleep because the sheets were "scratchy" rough.
Staff was okay. Not very helpful when I presented them with my problems. Especially the gentleman after the first night.
This hotel is a newer hotel with a stunning rooftop view. The room is spacious. However, there were little hiccups during my stay. This is the only hotel who requested they speak to my dad because I booked under his membership. There's no coffee machine in the rooms, so the place to get water is the gym. This particular location and time of my stay rendered this particular spot noisy with construction, and I'm quite tolerating with noises.
A little out of the way at 48th and 11th but a nice little hotel
Rooms are nice. The AC units are a bit loud, but livable. The staff was friendly.
Hotel was a nice place with a beautiful view of times square
Nice super clean hotel. The room is not small, and loved their shower..
Stayed at this hotel over Memorial Day weekend and it was fantastic. They were courteous, kind and prepared! They really took care of us, I even forgot pads and they brought me some. They gave us food recommendations and guests get to skip the line for the rooftop bar! The location wasn't fantastic but lyfts are pretty cheap so it was ok.
Beautifully done rooms Separate bath shower and toilet Very clean Only $100 per night great deal
Nice room. Easy walk to Central Park and Times Square. Would stay here again.
We stayed here for the week over Christmas - it s a nice hotel, with good facilities. The staff were excellent - very friendly and attentive with any requests we had. We were on the 11th floor on the north side of the building, which meant we could hear some late night (11pm-4am) noise from the club across the street, believe it s only open on a Saturday night though. Bar on rooftop is great, it s a longer walk to the subway than most NYC hotels but Hell s Kitchen is a great area which is really up-and-coming.
Great view, good restaurant, indoor and outdoor chill-out roofs, nice and clean rooms with modern design)
Went for a company training session. Very clean and nice looking
