Nice hotel with a nice view on NYC and close to Manhattan, the hotel restaurant is not very good
My request for a quiet room was met, hotel is immaculate, large room, there WAS a too darkening shade to just need to know where to look for it. Would definitely go back
Friendly staff, clean rooms, and my room was spacious with high ceilings.
Very dim and dark. You can't even read the numbers on the doors.
Had lunch at Print. One or misteps in service. Food was great. Many vegetarian options (though I am not)
This place is a nice hotel. From the lobby to bathrooms to the one room I saw for a little bit. Nice not congested area of midtown on 11th Ave and extra chic. Prices are a bit fire but I guess that's like everything in Manhattan.
The Hotel is in a very good location, you can see the beautiful skyland of New York and have a terrace on top that is very nicely.
Quality. I chose Ink 48 because it is a Kimpton. I expected luxury and Kimpton service.
When I arrived I was excited to visit Post Lounge- Post Lounge even tweeted about being excited to see me there. When I tried to enter at 5 I was told it was closed on Friday night due to a wedding, which was extremely unfortunate since it was a selling factor and major consideration when I chose the hotel. It forced me to change plans and try to find another convenient rooftop with a view.
That same day when I asked for an adapter to make the older model iHome compatible with an iPhone 5 front desk said he would ask housekeeping and I never heard from the team again.
I have always had excellent help and considerations made by Kimpton staff. In DC and San Francisco they've been courteous and - "customer is always right" with a "can do" attitude. When I called down to ask for an iPhone 5s charger (since I had only brought a car charger and there's no in and out service with valet so I couldn't get to my car without paying $55 again) the front desk told me "no". I asked why since it is one of the promised items on the "forgot it? We've got it" flyer in every room- they explained that they use to but would not anymore.
Dismayed, I went to bed without a charger. My boyfriend then made a similar request the next day. He was told people steal the chargers, so they would not do it. (Isn't that why incidentals can be charged to guests???)
The next staff member told him that Ink48 only carries chargers for other phones. (Isn't iphone5s the most popular model in the world??)
Either way we were definitely getting the run around from a hotel that offers luxury accommodations with personalized service and failed on all accounts.
At 9 PM on Saturday night a hotel staff member, Joshua, did bring up a charger. He left with some choice parting words "I must say that I never leave home without my charger, no one forgets their charger, I would suggest you never forget it to avoid this again". I was so taken aback. My boyfriend then requested early checkout immediately. We couldn't believe with all the other choice of $320 a night rooms in the city that this hotel maintained it's high rating.
As a loyal Kimpton member I was so unbelievably disappointed in the service.
We checked out a day early. Our bill was incorrect citing over $300 in valet charges, when $55 per day for 2 nights should have shown $110!
How disappointing. ever return??
The rooftop 'THE PRESS LOUNGE' one of the best view in NYC the only is the price is a little hight but still 5 stars.
Hotel is conveniently located on the corner of 48th st. This modern boutique hotel is a wonderful location with super cool rooftop bar. Trendy crowd and great vibe!
Hotel room was spotless every single day. Bed was comfy and big and there wasn't much traffic noise. Staff were very friendly, helped with bags and held doors open when we came in and out.
The roof bar we went to was very nice and has a great view but too crowded
Beautiful views! Amazing hotel rooms and the service is top notch! Will be back when I'm in NYC next time!
A good hotel in a very unusual location. The restaurant is very good and the roof terrace it's incredible in the spring summer and fall
Room and bath is a bit snug, no practical working surface for a laptop. AC has 2 settings: off and turbo
Staying here right now and can t sleep due to the noise from a nightclub appently nearby. The music in our room is so loud. Called the front desk and she offered I can checkout without a penalty. Talk about terrible customer service. I m in town for the NYC marathon and would really love to get some sleep. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT TO SLEEP.
Pricey but great views (if looking over the water). Cool place
It was managed well and the staff made sure that the place wasn't crowded
Beautiful and modern. Excellent amenities. I loved the full sized soaking tub. Rooms were impeccably clean, with very high ceilings and so much space. The front desk staff were all very accommodating and very down to earth. Each staff members name tag had something funny as a title like "Master of the Universe" or something like that.
I was a little disappointed that the one window we had was blocked mostly by a huge air compressor and part of the building but otherwise our stay was excellent.
Love evwrything abour it..,the staff can be a lit annoying snobbish just dont worry about them
I can't imagine a better experience in nyc for professional, beautiful settings, and location in the hospitality industry. Ink 48 is the luxury hotel status quo in the world.
I went to have a little drink with my friends in his bar. We stayed for a drink, but it was quiet and we headed off during our time there.
Excellent location. Had a party on the "Heaven over Hell" Penthouse terrace for over 65 people. The food was excellent and the staff was wonderful!
There is a really good Mexican restaurant in this hotel! (I didn't stay in the hotel itself)
Went up to the rooftop for a work event. The drinks and food we're all delicious. The service was great.
Great views. Welcoming concierge. Beautiful rooftop bar
The rooms are very new and clean. The views are awesome and happy hour is fun asd usual with Kimpton hotels.
Nice lobby with beautiful decor and kind staff. I've passed through it often when visiting the Press Lounge.
Came for drinks at the rooftop bar in the evening. The view is amazing! Unfortunately, the drink prices are extortionate which leaves a bad taste in the mouth
The Press Room has an amazing view. Its really worth going on a clear day. Cocktails can be pricey though.
Nice hells kitchen hotel, easy walking to everywhere.
Ate at the restaurant. Great service. Food was hit or miss.
Just got married here this past weekend. There has been a change in management and it shows. Rooms are wonderful, housekeeping is awesome, and the hotel physically is great. Customer service and staff are rude and never on the same page. If I wasn t having a wedding here, we would have cut our losses and went to another hotel.
It is outside the window at 3:00 am. If you stay on weekends, you can enjoy clubs in my room by the sound of music from the next building club until 4 am. In the daytime, of course, it is so peaceful.
It is recommended only for those who can sleep at night and take a good night's sleep.
It's 3 a.m. outside the window. If you stay over the weekend, you can enjoy the club with your music in the club next door until 4 a.m. During the day, of course, it's peaceful.
I recommend this hotel only to those who can not wake up at night and get a deep night's sleep.
We were there for 5 days in 2012 and the view of the skyline is breathtaking. You are a good distance from all the trouble and can relax there in peace. We would book it again and again.
Great hotel. Nice sized clean rooms. Friendly staff. Easy location but mostly you need a taxi. Great views from the roof but the drink prices are crazy and only average. The restaurant in the lobby is good and a nice spot to sit and relax. They have free bike in the lobby. Just grab and go for a ride along the Hudson. Valet staff as quick and attentive. Thanks. I will be back.
Stayed in this well located hotel in Times sqare area. Enjoyed staying there.
I've only ever visited the ink 48 hotel to visit the press lounge rooftop bar. The bar, in my opinion is the best rooftop bar in Manhattan offering the best view (as it's not on Broadway or in the thick of it), the cocktakls are always first class and the atmosphere is great. I would recommend to anyone!
Great rates and views from the Hudson Suite room! It even has a bathtub for our 4month old! Only negative is the shower leaks on the floor a lot. Windows also crack to let in fresh air. Very nice!
Only had drinks at the rooftop bar. Neat place with great views.
The room was beautiful, but a tad small. Everything was comfortable, very clean, and luxurious. My main complaint is how much in the room they advertise spending more money. "Want to use the robes? Consider buying them! Forgot something for your trip? We'll get it for you and add it to your bill!" Bottles of water, even though they were already listed on the menu card of prices, have huge stickers with their price. The biggest part is having to pay nightly for hotel WiFi. You get these at most hotels, but here it just seemed more pushy than others. Everything else was absolutely amazing, I'd definitely recommend it.
Very beautiful, spacious layout. Excellent, ambiant lighting.
Awesome hotel. Service was awesome. Rooms are clean and the views are amazing.
I never write bad reviews, but this was bad. My wife and I are literally changing hotels as I write this.
It ranges from the minor issues, to the really frustrating.
1) hotel doesnt have coffee in room and removes coffee from lobby at 9
2) hotel didn't pick up guest services phones in the morning (tried 3 times before getting through)
3) there isn't actually a pool (but the photos make it look like it and hotel doesn't warn you)
4) budget 15 minutes to get down to the lobby floor because they rent out the hotel for conferences (today it was basketball) and it destroys the limited elevators, which are shared service/passenger elevators
Loved my short stay here! Highly recommend.
Last month, my friend and I were looking for a nice hotel for a quick weekend getaway. We were actually planning to attend an event nearby and literally a few days before, they moved it to a venue in Queens. No thanks! We ended up keeping our reservation here and finding other things to do.
The double room was spacious for a New York city hotel. Trust me, I've stayed in many that were like half this size. Even the bathroom was pretty big. There's a well stocked mini bar! Loved the city skyline views from the room.
The rooftop bar here is amazing. I would literally come back just for that. It was freezing cold but I still enjoyed the breathtaking views. It's a reason to come back during the warmer months.
The staff I encountered were all very friendly. My only "issue" was on the day of checkout, there was a knock on the door very early in the morning from the maid. She was ready to clean the room and kick us out. LOL It wasn't even 9 a.m. yet. She said "I understand you're checking out today." Yes we were but not yet. She was very apologetic and said she'd come back later. Other than that, nothing to complain about.
The Mandarin Oriental NYC is lovely! Great service all around!
Nice room but very noisy at night and in the morning. Breakfast, don't bother. Go out to eat.
One of the best choices we've ever made. Friendly and highly professional staff. Clean and very modern rooms. Great breakfast. Delicious wine during happy hour. We'll come back
It was a great experience. The room was very nice. The staff were very helpful and nice.
Most of the staff were super kind and accommodating but 1 Bellman in particular saw me walk in with bags and didn't hold the door for me on 2 different occasions.
Elegant lounge with great terraces on the 16th floor
Staff was very helpful in leading me to the right direction s.
Top Notch Boutique Hotel. The rooms are stylish and clean. They're two bars in the hotel. The rooftop is the one you want. It's one of the best views in Manhattan, especially at night. The bar makes excellent cocktails as well. I don't eat at Ink48 because the food is nothing special and it's very expensive. There's a dinner a few blocks south for breakfast and plentry of eateries in Hell's Kitchen. The hotel is very prt friendly. They have water bowls for them in the lobby. In the morning, there's a coffee station and complimentary wine in the early evening. If you going to stay in tbis part of town, this is the place.
Considering the price here, I don't think I can ask too much. But I still have something to say, the room is a bit old, although the bathroom has just been upgraded. The staff are friendly but not very helpful. I ended up eating at the bar very well and the bartender was also very good. I was very dissatisfied with the breakfast and spent 2,500 yen, but I didn't even have tea. There are very few types of food and they are very slow to add. Although I am a Gold member,
Wanted to take the time out and say BEST HOTEL I HAVE BEEN TO IN NYC FOR UNDER $200 per night.
The room they gave us was a suite on the 10th floor overlooking the hudson river. there was a wall of windows so every view no matter where in the room you could see breathtaking views.
They deserve nothing but compliments. the hotel is all updated and swanky. From the main lobby to the hallway going to your room is very well thought out.
The rooftop bar was insanely beautiful. GO
Very beautiful! With the views of the NYC skyline and drinks! Amazing.
I was booking a room on the 3rd floor. 1) DIRTY. Everything was SO DIRTY!. There are so many spots on the carpet. The bed cover is also dirty. Especially, there are so many fungi and molds in the bathroom. I cannot understand how they can have a good review. 2) NOISES. I don't know for what a building is near the hotel. So many trucks were loading and unloading all night. It was so noisy. Thus we could not sleep. 3) ROOFTOP. As I know, they have a good rooftop. However, only after 4 pm, people can access there. When I was in the hotel, there was a party on there, so we could not go there. It is really useless.
Beautiful view of city & Hudson River from the rooftop bar.
Comfortable, cool set up.
Poor bar service, rude staff at the outdoor pool area, last call that takes your drinks before making sure it s done.
Noisy air conditioning in the room, rooms are noisy as the windows are not soundproof. VERY EXPENSIVE ROOM SERVICE 43us for a burger. There are better options in town.
This was a great find in the city! The room was bright, airy, and clean. It was a nice size room with a king bed which is hard to find in NYC. The rooftop bar was fun and the restaurant was delicious. I will definitely stay here again when I return .
