My wife had been in an accident on her 2014 1200 custom Harley-Davidson. After several months, three to be exact. We went to pick the bike up and didn't really look over the bike that and I had road it home.... about 27 miles from the dealership. The bike was at the shop for three months and you would think that being a Harley-Davidson collision repair facility that the bike would be fixed right the first time! This wasn't the case, I inspected the bike the next morning and found several items that were not done correctly to factory settings for the bike. One of many problems was they put a different exhaust system on the bike and seat wasn't replaced. A few other minor items that was not addressed, but was on the estimates. So I had taken the bike back and another month went by , so at this time they had the bike for four months. I went to pick the bike up yesterday the 13th and it still wasn't right. The seat is very loose and the exhaust system wasn't change either. Also we had purchased a engine guard from the dealership to be installed, but it was not installed correctly. I went ahead and took the bike home a told them that after four months that I am tired of going back and fourth. So right now my wife's bike is at the house with a seat that has ripples on both sides and isn't smooth or tight whatsoever. I'm not sure who they had repairing the bike but really did a back yard mechanic job on it.

Sincerely,
Roger Featherstone

Went in for parts. Parts department was very busy so i browsed the floor for a few minutes to let the line die down. When I returned to the parts counter there was one person at the counter working helping 1 customer. I waited a few minutes. I was helped by a man named Dave whose customer service was fantastic. He was quick to help me and apologize for my wait. He found exactly what I needed and made the process very easy. I recommend anyone going to independence Harley Davidson (formerly "Harley Davidson of Charlotte") for parts to ask for Dave.

When it comes to top drawer service, great staff, genuine welcome to motorcyclists - new and experienced - you can't beat Harley-Davidson of Charlotte...!

And I ride a Honda!

How's THAT for truly biker-friendly?

THIS JUST IN...they now offer full VESPA scooter line - parts and colorful Italian gear too...
Time for a Roman Holiday movie fame machine, I'm pondering.

Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Not a pressure sales team, plenty of inventory to help make your decision. Very family friendly.

Retail staff is outstanding.

Issue is when you have a problem with your bike. No effort or follow-up. They will not call you, you will have to chase them. "Is what it is" attitude.

Would purchase another bike from them and definitely retail items, but I will have service done elsewhere in the future.

An old saying they should take to heart, "sales sells the first unit, service sells the next 10".

The staff at this store is amazing! Everyone from the sales team, to service, to the two little ladies at the front desk when you come in. I was greeted with a smile and endured great customer service. I always feel like I'm at home when I'm at Harley, especially with the energy from many of the employees. With that being said, the reason I only gave one star is because of the level of rudeness I experienced during my last visit. Not towards me, but the employees. I witnessed the way someone I assumed was a part of the management talk to their employee, it is enraging honestly. And to do it in front of customers is not only embarrassing for the employee, but also very uncomfortable for customers. I'm sure the woman didn't know I could hear her, but that is still no excuse to talk to anyone rudely, especially not your own staff. I asked if I could speak with the general manager to express my concerns, but he acted like he didn't even have 5 minutes out of his day to talk with me. Never even looked up from his phone when he was asked if he could speak to a customer. I was absolutely appalled, no wonder some of the employees are so rude, their general management is just as bad. No leadership from what i've seen, and I've been a customer at Harley for years now. Very disappointed.

Please take time to read this. I pray that I save someone from the horrible experiences I had with this place.
In September of 2015 I wanted to have a front fender accessory light put on my RoadKing Classic. I purchased the Harley part over the internet and brought it with me to have Charlotte HD install it. So, a seemingly simple job one would think. However, it proved to be nightmarish. When I went to pick the bike up I inspected the work. I immediately noticed that the light was installed right of center approximately 3/4 of an inch and was skewed, meaning it was not in line with the fender but on a left to right angle. Another customer was walking in and commented "nice bike". I asked him if he noticed anything wrong with the light that was installed. I just didn't want to feel like I was nit picking. The customer saw the problem immediately. He said "wow, what the hell is that all about"? So it wasn't just me. I told Jim in service that I could not accept it this way. Jim called the technician out who did the work and pointed the problem out. So they said "you can bring it back in and we'll fix it, it will take about two weeks". I chose to leave the bike since we were in early October now. They needed t remove the light, repair the holes that were drilled into the fender, repaint it, and re-install the light. They said it would require two weeks however, it took three days short of one month to complete the "two week" job. So I go to pick the bike up and Jim engages me in conversation. Now I know it was to try to divert my attention away from the bike. I went to look the bike over and I was just floored by what I saw. There were two (2)long (1 1/2 inches) scratches in the gas tank. My handlebars are low and if I were to drop the bike it would scratch the tank but it wasn't a problem with normal turns and riding. Jim was going to just allow me to take the bike off the property with the two huge scratches. At first Jim dummied up like he didn't know what I was talking about then he admitted that the technician had done it and even tried to put the blame on me for one of them. The goof in parts with the long beard tried to blame the problem on the handlebars claiming they "are too low and it's just going to happen again". So I guess the handlebars were at fault and not the technician who dropped the bike. It's like saying it was the gun's fault for shooting someone. What a moron! So now, they need to fix my gas tank. I have a custom paint job so I was worried about them matching the paint. I'm lucky it's black. So another three weeks go by, waiting for my bike all the while missing great riding weather So I finally get the call that it's ready. I go to pick it up and I just couldn't believe it. They had to take the tank emblems off to paint it. When they put them back on they just eyeballed it. I guess they can't use a measuring tape, that would be asking too much. The left one is an inch and a half towards the rear relative t the right emblem. There is space between the tank ad the emblem so you can see right through it. At that point I was just exhausted with dealing with incompetence and wanted to just get my bike out of the hands of these guys before they screwed anything else up. I don't know where I'm going to get my maintenance done now but I'll NEVER return to Charlotte Harley Davidson. Those guys can F### up an iron ball. If you have work done here, inspect it before you leave the grounds. They would have said it was my fault if I had not noticed it and driven off. The guy it parts with the long beard must have the IQ of a rock. I pray this helps at least one person avoid a nightmare. If you have any suggestions where to have good work done please post it. Thank you for taking time to read this. It's the first time I have ever written a review.

Purchased a bike for my wife in May and loved everything about the process and can't say enough good about the sales team, as for the service dept.... Dropped my bike off for service on 6/23 and after 3 months finally got a call stating it was ready. When I arrived the service guys said that some of the repairs they were planning didn't get done. 3 MONTHS and my bike currently is unsafe to drive because the throttle keeps cutting out, I can only imagine turning across traffic and having no throttle. I barely got it home and when I asked the guys about it they acted like it was no big deal and charged me for the "labor" that didn't fix the problem. Extremely disappointed about the lack of communication during the 3 months they had my bike, lack of concern for handing over a bike that is clearly dangerous to ride and their overall indifference about the repairs and the associated costs.

I recently had my Road King serviced at Harley-Davidson of Charlotte and I was very pleased with my entire service experience. I made an appointment for the next day from my initial phone call and I was told to bring my H-D in first thing in the morning. When I arrived and walked in to the service dept. I was promptly greeted by Jordan the service writer and explained what type of service I needed. Jordan asked me several questions to make sure he understood my needs and the technician that would be working on my bike came out and greeted me as well.

I waited for my service in the dealership and several dealership employees walked by and asked if I needed anything and I was able to wait in the waiting area and watch the morning news. After a reasonable amount of time, Jordan came and told me my bike was ready and we went back to the service department and Jordan explained the charges and I paid the bill and walked out to my freshly washed bike.

I rode away very pleased.

Can't ever get anyone from here to call me back. I order parts and they either are the wrong parts, not enough parts, or the order gets lost. The worst was when I took my street bob in to get serviced and the problem I was having got ignored/forgotten, which led to me getting stranded in the middle of traffic. This particular issue did eventually get resolved, but every time I try to give them money there's an issue of some kind, and every time I have an issue I am told it was a "miscommunication". That excuse starts to wear thin after repeated use. When I finally got my Harley I was excited about the prospect of becoming part of the local community, but the dismissive and disrespectful way that this dealership handled me makes me very hesitant about ever going back. I'll have to travel a little farther and go to either speedway harley or Cox's in rock hill.

I haven't rode my 01 Heritage in almost 3 years. It needed completely gone through by a professional. I was treated professionally and friendly by everyone at the dealership, not just the service department but anyone that I interacted with. The same tech was assigned to my bike from cradle to grave. Great approach, they and I can track who worked on my bike. The bike has never ran or handled so well. Plenty of throttle and power. Nice smooth ride. Super job, Chuck, Thank you. Pricing wasn't bad...it's a Harley you can expect to pay a higher rate because it is a Harley. If you can't afford the gas don't buy a motorboat. Anyway, they have earned my business and going forward I am not stopping anywhere else!!

Great place and the staff is wonderfully friendly and helpful... I felt very welcomed unlike the HD in Concord (very distant acting people).
I live in the University area and I prefer to drive down to HD Matthews and get my service done in my bike, buy my gear accessories and enjoy the laughter with the staff!!!

How to loose a potential client? Charge them for looking at the bike, hand it back with sicky & dirty grips and without cleaning or washing the bike? Seriously, I doubt that you guys do not was bikes when people bring them in; that privilege might be for certain skin colors.

Update: loose drive belt was causing the problem. They didn't even check the bike. All they wanted was the money. Very lame and sad.

A year later... I went to buy a motorcycle and I was told to bring in my other motorcycle to trade. Next day when I went there to trade I was told the motorcycle was sold but they called me the next day to tell me that the sale never went thru and would like to sell it to me.

This is one of the top dealerships in the country when it come to customer satisfaction. Evidently they took allot of time to train their staff or are lucky to find talented, professional and courteous people to make a customer have a excellent experience. I recently moved to South Carolina and had bad experience with that crappy COX Harley Davidson in Rock Hill. Two days ago I had a issue with my new 2014 Ultra with engine noise. I called Charlotte HD and spoke with Jim & Jordan. They immediately sent a truck to pick up my bike at the house, had it diagnosed and taken apart by the second day. They explained to me the malfunction in the motor, warranty a new motor and by next week will have me back on the road. I went there today to introduce myself to the service dept. and walked around bit. Every employee from the cashier, mechanic to manager that I confronted was a pleasurable experience. Hats off to HD of Charlotte.

*Sorry guys but your service department has lost you this customer, I used you guys after purchase, and there was always a little more on the bill than expected, last year brought in for an inspection, was told I needed a new tire to pass, agreed, then when paying the bill, was charged extra to lace my mag wheel, had physically walk out and prove I don't have laced wheels. And last week had the bike towed there to get repairs, that YOU told ME was covered by extended warranty, only to find out at payment time, it wasn't. so an extra $300.00, and an argument. So my bike will never be back, and neither will my business on any future purchases. So to end the edit, screw you, screw you, J.D.-you are cool... **Just purchased my 2013 FXDWG, great people, very helpful. I have enjoyed every visit to the dealership. J.D. has been very helpful in picking, ordering all the custom parts I wanted to make my ride all me.
Every person I have met here, has been extremely friendly, and helpful. Thanks to Justin, Bill, and Steve for going the extra mile to make me feel welcome, and comfortable during my many visits, and purchase day. Great guys.**

I have been a customer of Harley Davidson of Charlotte for 21 years. (95 Electra Glide Classic to start with)
I have always had great service. The staff in service is very knowledgeable, and take care of my bikes like I expect. We have split our time between Matthews and Maggie Valley but when it's time for service it will go back to HD of Charlotte service dept.

I knew I wanted a bike and was thinking I'd want a Harley. I was scared to go and have a high pressure sales deal. I got prequalified online for a new bike. I arrived at the dealership on a busy Saturday and was not hassled or pressured at all. Bill M. was busy so Robyn took care of me. She and Bill S. actually found a used bike that better fit my needs (long legged, got one with extended controls, etc). I LOVE my 2003 sportster 1200! They are an awesome team and continue to make me feel like family!
