Rooms are great. The main issue--- pay 200+ a night and have to pay$23 for breakfast is ridiculous. Breakfast was greasy and not worth the cost. You get commentary breakfast at flea motels and this place charges a fortune for crappy food!

We had a wonderful time at the Hyatt Regency. The room, restaurant and room service was superb! However, we will "never" use the valet service again. It was horrible. My vehicle was damaged with paint transfer in the hands of valet service. If you ever use the valet at the Hyatt, please survey your vehicle upon arrival and they will do and say anything to keep from taking responsibility for their service.

Beautiful hotel which was surprisingly quiet. The restaurant offered a good breakfast selection and the staff were very good about being conscientious to specific dietary needs. Einstein Brothers Bagels is built in and open 24 hours per day to help meet your needs no matter your hectic schedule. Staff were always friendly and professional.

It is really unfortunate that I have to leave a terrible review for the hotel when all this falls on the valet parking. However the hotel should be aware of what has transpired as it reflects poorly on them. On 6/21/19 my husband and I had dinner at Spindletop and we valeted our vehicle. Upon getting home we realized our vehicle had been crashed and immediately contacted the hotel. We weren t transferred to valet department because according to the woman valet was too busy . After several days of calling back I finally got a hold of Nick (valet manager) and he kept sayin he found it strange no one brought it to his attention after so many days. He then said that he would look over the cameras and get back to me. I gave him 24 hours to review the cameras before calling back. When I called back he said I still haven t watched it but I will get to it this afternoon . It is now July 7th 2019 and I am STILL awaiting Nicks response. This is UNACCEPTABLE and incredibly IRRESPONSIBLE. Someone needs to take accountability for the damage which clearly is trying to be brushed under the rug

Pretty neat views from above. Great lobby area and bar. Einstein Bagels Bros is in there too. Rooms were clean and sufficient size for us and both kids. Great location. $6 Uber ride to Minute Maid Park.

Spent four nights at the Hyatt and I loved it. Service was great, good internet, you'll need an uber to get around though cause it mostly a business area so there are not a lot of things to do unless you're willing to walk a couple blocks

The Hyatt is a beautiful property that's been well updated and still feels new. The incredible atrium with glass elevators is always a nice experience. I've never stayed here, but have visited a few times for business functions. The catering was tasty and service was excellent.

I really like the hotel. The only issue I had was with the shuttle. It seemed like no one wanted to drive it. I asked to be taken to the convention center and I was directed to take the bus across the street. I called to be picked up and was told it would take 20 minutes and was directed to use the bus because it was faster (it wasn't). The positive side was I got to learn the green line of the Houston transit system, but it would have been nice to ride in the shuttle.

I booked a room there and nobody mentioned to me that this hotel was under renovation until I was already there. It was too late to find another hotel so I ended up staying. Everything was closed and the newly remodeled room was tiny. I was completely let down. Never again will I stay at this location.

Friendly staff, we booked a room for our wedding night and called a couple days ahead of time to see if early check in was an option. The gentleman who helped us was very friendly and accommodating. Very nice, spacious room, my husband asked for some finishing touches for the room when we arrived and for a nominal fee they left Champagne, strawberries and rose petals. We weren't there for a long stay but for the time we were everything was great!

I and my wife had wonderful experience here. Service is excellent. Niehaus, Bryan is very polite and kind in accommodating our request of early check in. Valet parking is expensive but a great help. Concierge Nicholas is excellent and very kind and patient with giving us directions from making coffee to providing us a free shuttle service to visit downtown restaurants. People at front desk are very competent in checking us in and out very fast. We had been given a wonderful room with an excellent view. Thanks for the service.

We stayed here on Thanksgiving. We had an amazing time!! It didn't start out that way. I had a time of it trying to get anyone to tell me if Spindletop or Shula's would be open on Thanksgiving Day. I called them, messaged them on FB, looked everywhere online, and each time I was met with rudeness. We arrived not knowing if we'd be able to eat in the hotel. One woman in "customer service" was probably the rudest person I've ever spoken to. Her name was Elaine. From booking to checking in it was nothing but rudeness from every employee.

But everything changed after we finally got checked in. It's Thanksgiving afternoon and we go to the Lobbibar. Behold, Clifford the bartender! We were on a six day road trip through Texas, and this day being Thanksgiving we weren't sure where to go with only a few hours in Houston. Clifford not only helped us with our options, he answered ALL of our questions! He was friendly, professional, helpful, funny, and turned everything around for us regarding our stay there. We spent the afternoon sightseeing on his recommendations and returned, to the Lobibar that is. About this time we meet Maria, the manager there, who was just as awesome as Clifford. Two very friendly, happy, helpful faces we really appreciated! We ate dinner at Shula's, met a wonderful veteran and shared dinner with him, then returned to wonderful Clifford and the Lobibar, again. Maria was always nearby, cheerfully working hard, visiting when she could. We left the next morning, our stay having been made what it was by Clifford and Maria's hospitality. They stand out in a sea of grumpy, bored, unhappy people working there. So if you're faced with inhospitable cranks, find one of them! The Hyatt itself was beautiful as it always is. Shula's was incredible. But as always, service is everything. Thank you Clifford and Maria!

Even though it is kid of in the city center, it is impossible to get anywhere without a car. Nice big rooms and incredible big lobby. I guess its true what they say. Everything is a little bigger in Texas.

Hotel is what you'd expect from a Hyatt Regency -- great bar, very nice main floor. I was a little disappointed that the "suites" are not really suites but sort of adjoining rooms. The service at the front desk was excellent -- I was going to upgrade to a suite and she explained the limitations of the suite -- near the elevators and kind of/sort of adjoining rooms. I really appreciated the honesty and I stuck with my regular king room -- excellent room -- very clean. If not for the limitations of the suite this would be a 5 star for me. I will definitely stay here again.

This is a perfect location for those that need to visit the many office buildings in the downtown area. It has a connection to the downtown tunnel system so that you can get to many places without going outside in the Houston weather (or at least maybe only going a short distance outside). The tunnel connection is a major plus - for example the Residence Inn up the street has no such connection so you have to go at least 2 blocks in the rain / humidity to get to the tunnel. For a hotel with this many floors, the elevators are surprisingly quick to pick you up and give you a "solo" ride a high percentage of the time even during the busy hours. The hotel bar didn't have any beer on tap (bottles only) but they said taps were going to go live within a few weeks so they should have that likely by the time you read this. Rooms were solid - large TVs with many inputs for those that desire to connect devices to them, clean, and decently furnished. The computer work area - like nearly all hotels - has poor ergonomics where the chair heights relative to the desk height causes bad angles for your hands when typing. Again this is like almost 100% of hotels, but it does make for a poor experience if you have to work in the room for very long. All in all a very solid choice for a downtown Houston hotel.

Saturday night my wife and I stayed at the Hyatt Downtown to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary. The front desk staff and restaurant wait staff were extremely gracious. They recognized our celebration at the front desk and at the Spindletop in their own very kind and thoughtful way. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms were well appointed. The views are incredible. The pool inviting. We had dinner at the Spindletop restaurant at the top of the hotel and the food was amazing. We had breakfast at Shula's the next morning and it was delicious. However. I have to admit. There was a glitch with the stay. It wasn't the hotel's fault so I won't go into detail. But the way management worked to resolve it and did resolve it was very pleasantly surprising. A shout out to the manager Rudy for being so compassionate and understanding. I will be back. And I'm sure I will have an amazing time.

The Hyatt Recency has a great atmosphere. The bar area has lounge chairs as well as the standard counter and tables, and the drink menu is good. It's a nice place to grab a drink after work.

My wife and I stayed overnight for a last-minute getaway for my birthday. Upon noticing it was my birthday at check-in wished me a happy birthday. When we got back from dinner there was a hand-written card from Alexandria as well as some champagne. It was incredibly thoughtful and kind, and absolutely made our night. Thank you, Alexandria.

We stayed at the Hyatt for one night to explore downtown Houston. We requested a few complementary items, such as toothpaste, from the hotel staff but they kept forgetting to bring all the items we needed. Had to request the same item multiple times for someone to bring it to our room. Finally received all our requested items after 3 separate visits from their staff.

I've never stayed here, but I regularly use the attached parking garage and their lobby facilities when I attend events downtown. They're conveniently located, clean, and their staff is courteous and professional.

The rooms were comfortable, and ease of checking in and out were nice. Unlike most hotels the Hyatt regency has updated the rooms to accommodate modern technology. Plenty of outlets and USB charging docks. While this may not seem like a big deal to many, being on a business trip with many devices to charge it is greatly appreciated.
