This is a perfect location for those that need to visit the many office buildings in the downtown area. It has a connection to the downtown tunnel system so that you can get to many places without going outside in the Houston weather (or at least maybe only going a short distance outside). The tunnel connection is a major plus - for example the Residence Inn up the street has no such connection so you have to go at least 2 blocks in the rain / humidity to get to the tunnel. For a hotel with this many floors, the elevators are surprisingly quick to pick you up and give you a "solo" ride a high percentage of the time even during the busy hours. The hotel bar didn't have any beer on tap (bottles only) but they said taps were going to go live within a few weeks so they should have that likely by the time you read this. Rooms were solid - large TVs with many inputs for those that desire to connect devices to them, clean, and decently furnished. The computer work area - like nearly all hotels - has poor ergonomics where the chair heights relative to the desk height causes bad angles for your hands when typing. Again this is like almost 100% of hotels, but it does make for a poor experience if you have to work in the room for very long. All in all a very solid choice for a downtown Houston hotel.
