The best customer service you will find. A true gem of San Diego. From the many restraint choices to the multiple amenities you receive by staying here, you are never without whatever you need.
Disappointed by the Hotel Del's Christmas display this year. Anticlimactic upside down tree and the ice skating rink. The courtyard area that last year had music, laser lights and drink/cocktail vendors was noticeably absent. No carolers or Dickens singers. A lot of the shops were closed. Hotel feels dated and is catering more to weddings and corporate holiday parties.
Location is amazing! Beautiful beach. Hotel is really nice with accommodating staff. Drinks outside were way too pricey though.
The scenery was great and the atmosphere will have me coming back
My favorite place to escape the hot heat in east county. A lot of friendly tourist and many locals. Enjoy walking our fury kids, they too love the smell of the ocean & the soft sand along the walking path.
Always great to visit! Since it has been rainy, it's hard to access to the beach but we had all the fun with kids!
Visited the Coronado hotel for a wedding over the weekend. The staff was very hospitable and the place was gorgeous. Truly the jewel of Coronado.
I was very disappointed in the attention we received, we felt discriminated our trip was awful! I would rather go to another hotel. Don't think we will be coming back by the way we have felt this way every stay it's not the first time, you know that saying do it once shame on them do it twice shame on me!
This hotel was really great - 20 years ago ! In need of renovation and updating urgently ! Half of the hotel like a building site so hopefully they can get it better after that. Had a " shared plate" at the Sheerwater restaurant, asked the waiter if it was enough for two when ordering.
In came a plate with 3 asparagus, a small pork belly bar, a poached egg and a few leaves of salad for $26 !!! What a rip off !
However, staff friendly and helpful and when complaining over state of first room they upgraded us to a suite in the tower block which was great.
Thank you Flora !
It was a ghost town.u couldn't really do anything.i wasn't impressed.But I know the place has patentaul..
So VERY UNHAPPY with our experience 2020. Understood that COVID changes things. I visit from out of state annually and website stated maid service must be requested. Desk states NO SERVICE offered, we will drop towels. Few amenities at this price point. Be honest on what is / IS NOT available. Dining deplorable. If understaffed, DON T book tables. Terrible service. All angry/over worked. NO THANK YOU. SO sorry that I chose to spend my Birthday here.
It s a very cool, historic spot!
Parking is $30 if you park on-site, which is crazy. We spent maybe an hour there and paid $30 to park.
Nice. Very very busy yes it is very pretty. But make sure you get your parking validated when you shop because that will cost you 30.00 for 2 or less hours. I almost went back in to buy some 300.00 sunglasses to get it vavalidated I was so mad at myself for spending 60.00 at the ice cream shop and forgetting. So that ice cream cost 90.00.
Looked nice, great service, bit overpriced but that isn't anything suprising considering. Food was great
Beautiful place to go see. Parking is expensive but can park on street or at beach and walk in instead. The sand castle man is there with his work to see. The sand looks cool with Mica gold colored flakes in it.
I walked around the Coronado Hotel on Saturday, and it was nice. The atmosphere was great, staff was friendly, and the looks of the hotel was amazing! I often come here and walk along the beach line
Thank you guys for everything and thank you planet earth for San Diego. What a beach, what a view... I was and i am still speechless.
It s good. It s not brilliant. It does look amazing from the outside, albeit it s pretty dark internally in the reception. The gym is well kitted out; it s not got all the equipment, but you can get a good maintenance workout during your stay.
The things I personally didn t like are the pool is overlooked by various public walkways and as it s a tourist attraction, that s a lot of people just staring at you.
It s next to an active US Navy airfield. These was lots of helicopters and planes flying overhead. You eventually ignore them during the day but later in the evening they are quite intrusive.
The hotel is a popular conference centre. If you want to get away from work, this might not be the best place as when I stayed it had 2 conferences going on, one of which had people in business attire talking shop. Hard to relax when the person next to you is jabbering about sales.
It s a wooden hotel. It creaks, especially if you ve got a room above you. You can hear people moving around and using the room.
The good stuff. The gym, the external grounds, the beach, Coronado itself has some awesome venues for food.
It s good, it s not brilliant. Go air-bnb enjoy Coronado, day trip to the hotel if you need to see it, and save some money as it s not cheap.
Stopped in for drinks and a little reprieve from the sun. It was open seating (first come first serve) which worked out great for us. We found a couple seats at the bar quickly. There were 2 bartenders working non-stop. One was very friendly with customers and serving drinks with a smile and a quip. The other who served us was agitated with the bar back and let him know about it in front of us. It seemed that we came up at a busy time so I thought maybe he was just a bit overwhelmed, but his attitude stayed the same throughout. Just not the service I expected from the infamous Hotel Del Coronado.
Last evening my wife and I dined at the Shearwater restaurant at the Del. The experience was quite disappointing. Though you have star resort status and pricing the food served last night was more like what I would expect at a Holiday Inn. I ordered my steak medium rare- it was delivered well done without a hint of even a infused butter glaze. the mac and cheese might have come out of a Betty Crocker box. Dessert was fine
You need to have a serious talk with your kitchen staff an chief
Such a gorgeous, Hotel. The history that comes along with it is equally enriching. The grounds of the hotel are well kept. Staff is very friendly, and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel!
It was a nice stay, we had a great time, and the staff are very friendly, but definitely wasn't as luxurious as the price! Actually nothing about the room or hotel was luxury, and nothing was convenient because we were staying at the hotel, we had to pay for everything additional as if we came to visit the hotel for a few hours... nothing is included and the restaurant prices are way too high! not like any other resort we've been to. so it's best, if you are visiting town to stay in another hotel and come and enjoy the beach and anything else here for a day trip...
The view is incredible
There are great restaurants and spas available
The neighborhood is great for walking cycling jogging running
There are suits that open up to the beach
The island itself is peaceful and a great place to relax
Came to Coronado and had to check out the Hotel Del Coronado- we just hung out on the beach and viewed from the outside - it was stunning and the beach was great!! make sure you stop by if your in the area
Beautiful hotel located next to the beach. Amazing food and service.
We didn't stay here for the night, just walked around, so impression is just from the outside.
Nice historic building, with good private beach. Staff seems friendly. Pleasant place.
Fantastic location, outstanding service, and great room! Every staff member that I encountered did an outstanding job. They were always, pleasant, helpful and ready to help me with whatever I needed.
Beautiful old building with a great deal of history.
Is always one of my destination spots when visiting San Diego the shops and atmosphere are welcoming and warm it's a beautiful place in a beautiful town
This place is great! The employees are nice, friendly, helpful, and kind. There is this one employee named Andrew the elevator operator and he is the nicest person in the world! One of the reasons we come here every year is to see his friendly smile. I think he should get a pay raise because he's always helpful, kind, and generous. And he's been there all of his life and he's in his 60s I'd say. Also the town it's self is a great place to shop, eat, look around, and have fun! We got to the Del and our room wasn't ready yet so they gave us a different room to relax in Intel our room was ready, it was so nice of them. I've never seen a hotel ever do that before so that goes to show that they really do care about customer satisfaction. I definitely think you should look in to booking a room here you won't regret it!
The best hotel that I stayed in my whole life! I will come back if given a chance. The place, amenities, staff, housekeepers, rooms, and foods were excellent and nice. Besides, I was a satisfied customer who wants to visit again bring my friends, family, and loved ones. Thank you so much for the remarkable experience that you brought to me. See you!
Large property allows for good socially distanced respite, and masks required in public spaces...but private patios are very well spaced. Beach not crowded now, allowing for fresh air walks! Food here, at every venue, excellent. Rooms immaculate and sealed after cleaning. Upscale.
This place is one of the best brunches I have ever had. It helps if it's a beach and pool day. Ask the a window seat.
Absolutely beautiful hotel. There is Nothing else like it. Being in Coronado is lovely, but there is something so special about the hotel on its own. I love that the hotel has been around for so long and how well the ownership has preserved its beauty/features. I had an incredible ocean view from my room and every morning I felt so Refreshed by the atmosphere. I would definitely stay here again.
Great atmosphere! Always bustling with people coming in and out. Right on the beach. Historic hotel. Very pretty sights. Coronado is the place!
One of the most beautiful and historic hotels in the world. From the beautiful ocean to the ice skating rink at Christmas your experience at the Dell will be a memorable.
Good service but prices are 2x more than a regular Hilton hostel
The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas. They had a massive Christmas tree in the main lobby along with one in the courtyard. The food and drinks were phenomenal and the service was quick and friendly. The beach was was amazing even in December. Next time we want to stay at the hotel for a few nights because of how impressed we were with everything.
A must see for the historic factor and the sunsets Perfect venue for wedding reception or romantic getaway
I just walked around to look at the extravagant and it did not disappoint. It has the gravitas of a true historical landmark
Great hotel with major history and activities on property and around the area. The only negative is the rooms while acceptable but are dated. I will continue to visit yearly, but if rooms are updated it will be an even more pleasant stay.
Not like it used to be. Dirty, run down rooms, rude staff and crazy expensive.
Graceful old hotel. Best is beers listing to Gonzo play in the bar.
Absolutely gorgeous hotel! We didn't stay here but took an Uber from downtown San Diego and I'm glad we did!
Love The Del! My mom and I stayed from December 26-Jan 1st. We were given a room in the Victorian building with a resort view. The outdoor porch was made completely private due to a large tree directly in front of it! I loved being able to sit on the porch every morning in my pajamas and sip my coffee in privacy! The room was clean and quiet, save for the winter holiday guests that were enjoying the courtyard displays for Christmas. This hotel is perfect for guests who appreciate the historic charm of a famous hotel built in the late 1800s! The water in the showers does take a couple of minutes to get warm, but what do you expect from a hotel this old! The staff were exceptionally helpful and kind every time I came into contact with them! We ate dinner at the new restaurant Serea for New Year's Eve and it was delicious!! We visit the San Diego every year and always stay at this hotel, it is definitely becoming a tradition!!
I got a cocktail at the beach bar. It was $18 (fine) and didn't taste anything special! Avoid the wine slushee
Staff wasn't very attentive or helpful. Restrooms needed attention. Hotel is overrated and overpriced.
Took my coworkers for their first tour of the property. It was almost something from out of a movie. Kids were playing, adults were either enjoying a black and white movie on the beach or lounging by the beach fire pits.
Yes, the rooms vary between $300 & $600 a night, but for something this iconic, I'll be back for a weekend getaway
The views from the Hotel Del at sunset and especially Christmas time is stunning. Everyone must get a chance to experience. If you have time, go ice skating during Christmas time. As California as it gets, ice skating by the beach. Their new year's day crown brunch is fabulous!
Great place to go visit. I would not like all the tourist in and out however the views are beautiful
One of the best hotels from a historic standpoint that you could possibly visit here in the United States. The rooms are pretty small and your bathroom door may actually hit the toilet but it is a place worth visiting at least once.
Beautiful hotel with a large history. The beach was glorious and easy to walk down to.
The only reason for the lowered stars are due to being talked down to and almost every interaction at the hotel, including food and otherwise.
Need to waste and entire fun day? One of the best parts of this place is the walk from the hotel to the ferry then walking through San Diego and back to Ferry and walk back to hotel. You will get to see so much of Coranado, San Diego, food, drinks, patios, shops, people and more. Trust me, this walk is an adventure. Plus, once you get to the San Diego side you can jump on scooters and see the entire city. Pics from my most recent walk... 6 hour walk.
Very bad experience for 500$ a night.
The room was very dirty, old French fries on the floor from previous guests, dirty bathroom
The room was so small that it was not possible to keep our suitcases open.
No curtains in the room
It was difficult to sit on the toilet because of the super small size of the bathroom
We asked many time for clean towels, but it never happened.
We travel a lot, that was the worst experience we had.
No service, no customer service.
Bad bad bad
As of 2.5 hours ago, Hotel del Coronado is a Hilton property. Come celebrate. All those with Hilton Honors will soon have points based access. Now celebrating 112 years. Cheers
I think this place is really cool and I don't believe in ghosts. Definitely worth a visit!
Only walked through.. but it looks amazing and want to visit San Diego again just to stay here.
Love this hotel! Right on the water and very romantic. We have stayed two times and both have been perfect.
Beautiful, historic hotel; garden and grounds well-kept.
Our family had a marvelous time again at The Del! We had tremendous service from Alexa who works with the Del Club members. Thank you Alexa for your help!
This hotel is overpriced for what you get. I had a dark dingy room that faced the pool. People could walk right by my window so i had to keep the windows shut. People were out there moving around furniture and cleaning at 3am. Some of the lamps in the room didn't work. I had mail delivered there and they couldn't find it for a day. I've had good experiences here in the past but it's been getting worse.
Wow this place is gorgeous. Clean and amazing. People were amazing. But the view was the best part of it all. Very (and I mean VERY) expensive. I splurged, but it's a very very seldom splurge, because I can't afford this. Lunch for 3 was $185
Ate lunch at the Sheerwater restaurant. Great food and wine selection, beautiful atmosphere and great service. Pricey but worth it - highly recommend.
I'm in town for training and staying at the Hilton 30+ days. The breakfast is available 7 days a week. On weekends Gloria the omelet station chef will make you A delicious omelet. I wish she was here all week instead of the weekend. A variety of hot and cold food available. Eggs, bacon, sausage, bfast potatoes, oatmeal, fresh fruit, cold cereal, yogurt, and more. The dining staff, rain shine always put a smile on my face with there top notch professional friendly service.
Beautiful location with a beautiful beach. The hotel and the conference rooms are beautiful. I especially liked the chandeliers in the conference rooms.
I miss bell hop Dion Davis. From his first wife. Lisa. Reach out to me. lmas7468@gmail.com
Historic. History. Movie making. Though over time it's been changed inside. Not cozy like it was in the 80s .don't feel welcomed when the famous side door with the red carpet steps is now locked .the staff seems snubby. Not a place for Locals to go as before .lunch. coffee. Over priced rooms.room service. Grab some good food across the street. Valet.. prudes. Expect dollars..
Amazing location, most beautiful hotel, friendly staff, great food and drinks, kind of pricey.
Very enjoyable. Great views. Must see in San Diego. Good beach.
The hotel is beautiful, the beach is also beautiful. The staff is also wonderful and lovely. I would define recommend this place to a friend.
I expected more from The Del for the price. We requested an ocean view room, which we got for $650 per night...coming to $800 with taxes and fees. The room was run down and completely average 2-star hotel quality even if it was new. The ocean view was obstructed by construction, and they neglected to tell us that. I spoke with the front desk staff about it, and they gave us a $150 credit after also seeing that we had spent money on property. We appreciated the discount, but it still was overpriced, in my opinion. You have to pay for beach chairs if you want them, whereas I expected that to be complimentary to hotel guests. The first day they were out of towels, so we just laid in the sand. We had a great time nonetheless, but I would recommend widening your search on Coronado, maybe to Lowes, for a better price.
Pretty much perfect in every way. The room was extremely clean (actually, I think most hotels in Las Vegas are doing better with that aspect. The ban on smoking helps.)
The Grand Luxe Cafe downstairs right near the elevators is a good place to grab a moderately-priced (for Vegas) meal. The place is similar to a Cheesecake Factory, but better in my opinion
I was visiting the beach but the area was very nice. There are a lot of shops to check out for both guests and beach goers.
We went there to go shopping and have dinner and look around. Everyone at the hotel was so friendly and so nice and everything was wonderful. They had a super nice bar and an ice skating rink just outside and it was very festive for the holidays. Loved it
I stayed in The Villages and include me ice skating it included me in private dining right on the beach for both what can I say it was a Class Act
The hotel del has been a phenomenal location for our 3 day business convention. The service, food, and accommodations have been perfect.
Wow! Amazing experience. What a great resort, we enjoyed for 5 nights. We love it.
Over priced... Everything! Don't expect a clean room nor updated room. Nostalgic yes...
A MUST...love this beautiful historic hotel. The boutiques, restaurants, grounds and the beach are truly amazing
