Service non-existent. First arrived via taxi. When I got out, no one greeted me. Had to find someone to get directions to front desk. Dragging luggage up the stairs, no one to help. Had to wait 5 minutes on the single desk clerk. She was handling a problem that another guest was having. Rooms are way outdated and nasty. ADVISE: VIEW FROM outside and take pictures of once great hotel.save your money.

We had a lovely dinner at the 1500 Ocean Restaurant. Primarily a place for seafood, the dining room has a contemporary inside space and a comfortable outside space, one part covered and the other section set up in the fresh sea air. There are heaters for the chilly nights. We sat undercover in the fresh air. It was a topical lovely San Diego evening. The service was friendly and unrushed. Food was quite good, except for over salted fish and a disappointing chocolate dessert.

The Hotel Del is a historical landmark that captures the ambiance of another time. The drinks were a little expensive but beer still reasonable. After drinks we walked straight down to the beach which was very convenient.

We went there to visit, look around, and have drinks at the bar. The place was beautiful and was decorated for the holidays. Although what seemed like every part of the hotel was crowded, it still held its charm. The bar was busy, but was attended to quickly. The drink prices are elevated because it was a hotel bar, but the drinks we had tasted above average. You're paying to drink at the Coronado pretty much. But the experience was good and would go back again.

Everything you'd want in a family vacation by the beach! We have two young children under the age of 4 and Hotel Del is amazing for the comfort it offers with multiple dining options, many of which are spacious and accommodates strollers easily, it's beach access (literally just one minute walk from the hotel), it's close distance to the airport (less than 10 minutes by car), its good sized rooms and great service. As a plus, we've always found a delightful surprise like seeing dolphines from our room window or an ice skating ring right on the lawn. Can't also say enough about the quality of the restaurants - love 1500 ocean and Sheerwater, both with sea views. It's a place we can happily spend days at without leaving the hotel and if we do, there's a cute little street right outside with some shops and more dining options. On the flip side, the Victorian building is a little old and we once had a room where the plumbing broke. The cabanas have very thin walls and you can hear your neighbours opening and closing the closets or shower. The more modern tower rooms are great, quiet and newer but of course, lacks the charm that hotel Del is known for, tradeoffs. As a whole we love this place so much, we've made it an annual trip and are discussing making it biannual.

Visited the Hotel del Coronado briefly as a tourist. Lobby was absolutely gorgeous from ceiling to moulding, but the carpets all over were very clearly from the 90s and before. Beach area was impeccably well kept, no cigarette butts or glass or even sharp shells. Plenty of shops and a few restaurants. Didn't turn us away when we just wanted to snoop around.

Just went for brunch, awesome place, awesome location, beach, service, history, food, walking tour.
Was $100 with tip for two but worth it. We would do it again.
Wish I could afford to stay there :(

This was the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in. I have stayed in a lot of hotels over the years and have never experienced such poor customer service. The lobby was like Grand Central Station with only 1 person checking people in and out. There were absolutely no lines formed and when I mentioned this to the manager all he responded was that it was a public hotel and he couldn't control how many people were there, but when your pay over $400 for a room for 1 night I expect more than that for a response. The skating by a sea is also a disaster. They allow so many people in one area at one time you can't even move. The skating rinks ice wasn't smooth at all it was one of the trashiest rinks I've been to and very expensive for what you get. The prices of every item they sell are outrageous....I don't care who you are $6 for a small bottle of water is absurd and a rip off. Plus $70 a night for parking mind you that isn't even valet, only self parking. This hotels management is just a bunch greedy owners. I highly recommend that you do not stay at this hotel. I have had better customer service at a Comfort Inn than I had here. There are plenty of other hotels in Coranado and I guarantee you it would be worth it to look into them. I know the hotel doesn't care about any of these concerns as I have already expressed them to management and they didn't care but I wanted to make sure people understand what they are getting before they book at room at this awful place and pay a ridiculous amount of money for crappy costumer service.

Sunday brunch at the crown room. Amazing experience in this classic all wood hotel. The food is amazing and there's too much to even try it all. One of a kind venue. Highly recommended.

Very nice staff, room was great considering the hotel is over 100 years old. Grounds we're very well kept. Everything crazy expensive though. 50/night for valet parking, 40/night for self parking. No affordable eating options. Don't order their room service pizza!

Bad experience at this hotel. Poor service, o staff to help carry bags. Room is clean but, constructions outside the room. Do not provide benefits for hilton honors members as marketed. Overcrowded lobby.

This is a beautiful old hotel. If you don't like quirky, this place is not for you. But if you can appreciate the individuality of a 135 yo icon, come enjoy the Del. Great location. Tons of restaurants nearby. Quick ride to/from the ferry. Already decorated for Christmas.

Super expensive Sunday Brunch at 98.00 p.p. didn't think it was worth the price. Coffee barely warm, had to wait 10 min for waffles to come out, cocktail sause was empty. Items were not being replenished and had to bring it to the staffs attention . For that kind of price nothing should be empty. All restaurants and mini store super expensive. As a Diamond H.H. member, couldn't even get an early check in. Checked in at 11am and got my room at 3pm. 4 Hrs to clean my room ?? The whole day was pretty much gone already. Pool out of service to under construction ...no mention of it on the H.H. website. Cant say my 600.00 a night stay was really worth that price. Wont be doing this again.

This place is amazing! the historic vibe of this hotel cant be beat! The location is amazing, right next to the beach.. Some of the staff can be rude but I believe their rudeness is due to being under staffed. The hotel is usually at full capacity. Do not have any hopes of checking in early cause it probably wont happen. We did receive great customer service by some of the staff especially the wait staff.. Zane was our server for the day bed beach rental and he provided excellent service! Would highly recommend! Bonfires on the beach was also a great experience.

We were not guests staying at the hotel. We only visited because of its history and popularity. Also, we were told that the way to the beach was directly through the main lobby of the hotel. Upon entering, we immediately noticed its beauty. The wooden structure and 1920s feeling. It was gorgeous. However, not one attendant greeted us. Not one. We took pictures and had a great time as it was four of us in the group and we are positive people in general. It wasn't until this survey that I realized that not one person who worked there said hello, asked us questions, greeted us, or anything. In fact we asked a complete stranger, who turned out to be a guest staying there where the restroom was. So maybe this hotel needs a little work in customer service. Our actual hotel and all the others that we entered for one reason or another were exceptionally friendly. This is the only one hotel that we had this experience with during our San Diego Vacation.

Beautiful hotel BUT! I checked in and had no toilet paper to be found in the bathroom and they never cleaned my room the next day and yes I left the tag to clean up on my door and the bed, I had to call down just to have them bring me fresh towels! I was not impressed!

Beautiful, but its a tad tired and worn. Happy Hilton is taking it under its wing as a curio collection property and hopefully it will be restored to its once luxurious grandeur. Of course then I won't be able to afford it, lol. The beach is close and the staff amazing!

Great tourist spot to walk around and see. I didn t stay here, but the Old Town Trolley tour takes you here and let s you get off and explore. The outside of the hotel speaks for itself, but the inside is just as impressive. They had a yoga class going on out on the beach and they had a dozen or so stationary bikes right out there on the sand so you could exercise and watch the waves which I just think is genius. There are some neat stores for shopping around here too.

Dont waste your money on the worst service ever. They just taking money from people, and not working normally . This is second time we been in this hotel and I hope its last time , because it's too expensive for service like this what they providing.
Both times my husband make reservation and both times we arrive and been wating because they don't have available what we reserved, so they just gave us what they want.
2nd time be been with baby. my husband ordered crib with reservation but of course if there is nothing inside room because it's not that room what we reserved.
We try too open sofa bed and we find out some animals inside bed.
Old couch and furniture, the doors was dinging when you opening or closing , dirty and dusty everywhere.
In restaurant nothing normal for eat and every day same food, ((
They have just valet parking per day 50$
So don't waste your money one this . Its really wasting money because you have too pay around 600$ per day for worst service.

I would NOT recommend this hotel! We stayed there in October. Our room was tiny, dated. It took over 1/2 hour to stand in line to check in. The facility is dated, needs painted, carpet is old. The restaurants are dated. The area around the pool is old. We paid almost $400 for one night which didn t include parking! Not only were we extremely disappointed with the hotel and our room, we used the hot tub in the pool area in the early am of the day we were checking out. It smelled of strong chlorine and sure enough, when we got back to our room i realized that my expensive black 2 piece bathing suit was now a pale gray. They most likely shocked the pool and did not put a sign out to stay out of the hot tub. There are many other really great hotels nearby and look well kept, clean and up to date. One star at best! And I called to inquire about the hot tub and my suit being ruined. It took 2 weeks for someone to call me back. The pool supervisor who offered to buy me lunch on my return visit. Uh, no! Won t be returning. Thank you anyways.

My family and I went to one if the waterfront restaurants at Hotel Coronado when we came to visit. The food was just alright, but the view was excellent! It was a great way to relax while enjoying a historic site.

Recently stayed there for 4 days and was disappointed in the room and amenities. My wife, 2 year old and I were expecting a posh, exclusive experience given the price we paid, but were met with a room facing the parking lot, disappointing bathroom, and a room next to an entrance where we could hear people coming and going at all hours. The staff was great and general location was superb but our room was terrible!

We only went to the beach but we used the beach services and got some chairs and an umbrella. The beach is beautiful and nicely maintained. We love how the beach sand sparkles with gold flecks due to the mica/biotite. The water was cold, but the sand was warm and my children had a wonderful time being chased by the waves.

Most beautiful beach! Beautiful surf. There is gold in the sand! Tide pools were interesting to explore. Beautiful scenery all around with the hotel on one side and ocean on other. Saw surfers, sailboats and Navy vessels.

Brunch at the hotel Del is a bucket list item. The selection is impressive and the crown room is breathtaking. Walk the beach and grounds before or after your meal. Just make sure to make reservations in advance for a small or large party. There is online booking or over the phone.

It was at a great location. The beach was great. The restaurants and pool was good. The only thing that i did not like was the valet parking staff was very slow so i had to wait 20 min for my keys.

This is a nice, historic location, but not necessarily worth the high price.

Parking is expensive. Food is expensive. Drinks are expensive. Concierge is expensive. But, at the end of the day, you get what you pay for and we weren't disappointed at one thing.

Gorgeous hotel and beach. I was disappointed with the quality of the food. If I'm paying a high end price for my meal, I expect the meat to be organic and the food to taste better than "ok"

The hotel is very nice and full of rich history. The bathrooms are large, many rooms have views of the bay, and the building has one of the oldest elevators still in operation. There are many shops in the hotel and nearby, so it's also just a great place to hang out, even if you're not staying overnight.

This place has a beautiful view of the ocean and the lounge itself is amazing. Although the bar is open, table service doesn't start until 1130. Additionally the food is good but nothing exceptional. For lunch two orders of fish tacos and 4 beers created a $140!tab. So it's not cheap. You pay for a view I suppose. I suggest lunch elsewhere and a walk on the beach after.

The valet parking was terrible. We waited 15 minutes in the rain. Cover was inadequate, and the wooden steps very slippery. Our son finally got the keys and we walked to our car. You're completely unprepared for inclement weather.

Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous! You can't beat the beach and views at the hotel del Coronado. The prices are as high as the quality and service, so be aware of what you are in for, but for that special occasion, it can't be beat.

Yesterday we tried to check into the hotel at 4pm. Did not get into our room until 630...then they still didn't deliver our luggage...we had to carry ourselves. Today, housekeeping did not show...they put the Do Not Disturb sign on our door and said Sorry we missed you...they DID NOT SHOW to clean the room!! Unbelievable...it's not the Hotel Del of old...lots of apologies but the service is no where what it was or what it should be for the cost of the rooms. Very sad...will never stay here again.
