The actual hotel and accompanying properties are quite nice. Be warned about parking at the hotel as a day visitor though! If you get parking validated it's only $5 for 0-3 hours . Without validation it's $30 for 0-3 hours. What they don't make clear is you have to spend $50 dollars total on the property to have your parking validated. Ugh. PARK ON THE STREET! it's literally 2 quarters for 2 hours at every meter on the street

Gorgeous venue. Can't beat the ocean view from the Sun Deck bar. It's like you are stepping back in time at this San Diego landmark. Great food at Sheerwater too! Friendly staff all the time.

Great place to stay, definitely something all people should do at least once. Even if you're not staying there, it's beautiful to walk along the beach front and look at, and there are some shops on the inside courtyard area as well

This was a great experience. We spent a week here celebrating some accomplishments I had at work. The Del along with Grainger put on a great week of relaxation and celebration for us. Thank you!

Location is outstanding and expensive, but everything you need is onsite and the beach is wonderful. The service is the only reason I gave 4 stars, for the price everything should be outstanding in my eyes and this time it fell far short. The servers were friendly and did a good job, just overwhelmed with not enough staff for the amount of guests at this resort.

Haven't stayed here but have seen it from the beach. Is a beautiful looking hotel resembling Spanish architecture with the white building and red roof. One day I'll plan a trip to stay here.

Friendly and yet only adequate service. Servers could learn a bit about being more attentive to the needs of guests. This is the third time I've had this experience. Perhaps service people should have smaller sections.

Service was good, drinks were nice, and the view of the sunset was spectacular. Sunset bar was understaffed, people working were clearly going as quickly as possible while still delivering quality service, but they could have used another person there.

I love this historical hotel, however it is under renovation. They don't clean your room because of COVID 19 which makes no sense to me, as it puts people out of work. Why would a grocery store hire extra people to clean and sanitize, but not a hotel? I would normally give this hotel 4 stars, the views are amazing and usually has great customer service. They were very understaffed.

The beach villas here were great. Wonderful private area away from the main hotel, beautiful beach views, and friendly staff. It was a wonderful experience relaxing by the crashing waves on the beach and enjoying the spa and pool with and ocean view.

Wow! What a beautiful hotel. Our room was spectacular (although most others in my group had tiny rooms). The elevator with operator was really neat. The beach was beautiful and very clean. The biggest beach I've ever seen.

Went to check out the infamous Del Christmas tree. As always, was wonderful, along with the ice skating, music at Babcocks Bar, the family ambiance is perfect. Grabbed some childrens hot chocolate at the Starbucks and a bite. The venue has definitely gotten more notoriety and they were playing family movie bye the sand....

This place has a lot of history. I was amazed by how large the hotel was. Excellent patio with ocean view. If you don't like loud noise like Jet planes flying over every 15minutes, then the patio is not for you. Great food and service.

What wonderful surprises await inside! As a tourist shopping during Christmas holiday I found many unique decorative items and personal soaps and scents, kitchen and home accents, and amazing chocolate truffles! The store is located at the rear of the hotel facing the outside patios where diners and swimmers and passersby can step in easily from their activities and stroll through.

Hotel Del is a hidden gem on Coronado Island! Everyone sees it coming in, but not many people actually stop to go in and look around.

It's amazing to actually stay there and enjoy the hotel, but even if you don't there are TONS to do if you just walk up.

There are 3 or 4 restaurants/bars in back that are a stones throw from the water. They have some phenomenal happy hour specials. If you stay at the hotel, they have cabanas on the beach you can reserve as well to enjoy yourself in a more private setting.

It's a little pricey, but 100% worth it as a special occasion or just a little getaway or even a staycation if you're from the area!

Luxury at its best. Gorgeous old hotel. Architecture is beautiful. Grand lobby still evokes what hotel must have looked like over 100 years ago. Many excellent restaurants and bars. Food is exquisite. Wonderful views of the ocean. Get a bungalow if you can. Many swimming pools available. Gift shop has lots of cool stuff. Nice grounds to walk around with good walking path.

I like this place but it is so expensive. The last time I went there got one drink and it was $29 is the rooms are $600 a night crazy I mean the place is cool and it's old historic and it does have a lot of stuff going on for it. If you can afford it I'd recommended otherwise it's a nice place to visit..

Great location. Nice property. Staff not very helpful. When we arrived it was raining heavily and we were on our own to hike it to our room with our luggage. Everything was completely soaked. Room service was closed due to the rain we were told, so we went back out in the rain to go to the restaurants in the main building. Unfortunately, those were flooded and closed. Stagg weren't aware of this, so we were told wrong information before finding this out. Valet parking required, which was not accurately reflected in my research prior to our stay. We had to pay for valet parking and then walk right by our parked car to get to our room.

I went inside to purchase some things at their gift shop. This hotel is amazing! Beautifully decorated like you just stepped back in time! The gift shops had a good selection of things to remember your visit by. The staff was pleasant and happy to help with any questions I had. I would love to return and stay as a guest at this hotel. Beautiful!

The atmosphere here is wonderful. I love that it's not ugly and "modern". It's great to be able to take a short walk to the beach. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are well kept as are the grounds. I will definitely be back!

Christmas Day brunch the Crown Room. 2019
Surprising unpretentious. The Crown Room with old world charm was lovely. Elegant atmosphere and efficient friendly staff. They knew what they were doing. Decorated without being overdone.

Unfortunately there is major reconstruction going on And there were barriers and fences everywhere. There was no clear direction in where to park the car.
The buffet food was incredibly GOOD. It was kept fresh and hot or cold, always fluffed up, and neatly presented.
I think I ate my weight in crab legs and claws!
It is pricey and it was superbe.

As a few ratings have mentioned, this property is under construction, and that is a lot of what you hear when trying to relax at one of the restaurants. There is a $27 cheeseburger, it was not fresh ground beef. Beds are hard from the 80's. This should not be listed as a CURIO collection. The exterior is beautiful, but beware, it is not worth the money. Stay in San Diego for your stay and come over to their beach.

We were very fortunate to tour the hotel....timeless history is told as one walks thru it's halls, impecible manicured courtyards, public areas, and of course
...the beach and promenade areas....a sight to see,a treasure to behold.....an experience of a lifetime to be made at the hotel....we loved it and felt fortunate to see it

I didn't stay at Hotel del Coronado but I was there to visit a few hours. This historic five star hotel is across the Bay from San Diego. The best feather is the beach front and fantastic view of the Pacific Ocean. WOW!

Got to love The Del! Go back in time with a visit to this Victorian style hotel. The spa is top notch, the elevator has an attendant, and it is right on the beach. At Christmas time they have caroling, beautiful decorations, and ice skating. Walk the halls that some say are haunted to this day by the ghost of a young woman who died there.

We were truly disappointed. The historic building and lobby is still beautiful but the food and service is mediocre at best and the room in the tower was old and dingy. There was also mildewy smell in the room. We won t come back.
