The rooms are kind of pricey, but they are nice. The hotel if historic and right on the beach. There's a few restaurants around the property but the magic is really on the beach. It's just so pretty and you can watch the Navy seal practice occasionally. I'll be back with my family as this was a professional visit.

Hotel del Coronado is a mainstay of the San Diego area. Beautiful grounds in a beautiful place. Prices are exorbitant, but I suppose that is to be expected.
Location is the best but the hotel is outdated and the rooms have a bad smell. We had to buy several candles to keep the smell down to a tolerable level. Rooms are outdated. I would recommend staying downtown at a less expensive Marriott and driving to Coronado.
Staff is great and very friendly. The property is in disrepair and dirty. There are a lot of things that could easily be done to clean up . Restaurants and breakfast are .
Loved the historic pictures throughout the hotel, love the atmosphere, love the structure of this grand hotel... parking is kind of ridiculous but overall a lovely place.
Many areas of the Hotel is under construction. When the room was booked no notification there was major construction in progress!!. Long walk with luggage from underground parking to temporary entrance. The courtyard had artificial grass, not very attractive. The beautiful pool area is gone surrounded by a fence with a pit behind it. Temporary entrance was confusing. The restaurant is a food truck with a long line. I felt it was definitely overpriced for the state of the hotel. I might reconsider when the construction is completed. Very disappointed.
It was A fine hotel and The room I stayed in was so pretty. and It is the best! The people were nice, and the food was excellent and you are so close to San Diego.
I was visiting for a corporate event. The hotel is really nice, had that old school hotel feeling and was really welcoming. Parking is staggeringly expensive so I found free parking about half a mile a away. It's a really pretty area so the walk to hotel was enjoyable.
Beautiful hotel! Staff was not very accomadating though. Never have I been to a hotel where they charge you $600 up front and then refund you when you leave. The beach was gorgeous. A lot of wonderful history as well.
Despite not actually staying, it was a beautiful visit. Very beautiful seating area outside, gorgeous beach, and nice bars (plus a tasty ice cream spot).
Hotel del Coronado is a great place to visit for San Diego natives and tourists. It's a great spectacle to see while walking along the beach or if you're staying the night there.
The hotel Del is really spectacular and I especially like the old wood look they have throughout the entire facility. The view from most of the shops out to the beach and pool are magnificent
Asking how was your stay? depends on what part of my stay is being asked about. If it s about the beach, the pool, the shops, the restaurants and much more being right outside my door then it s five stars. If it s about the construction workers waking me up at 7:00 in the morning every single morning with loud machinery that makes it impossible to fall back asleep I d give it one star. DO NOT COME TO THIS HOTEL UNTIL 2022. Construction is supposed to be done by then, and after that the stay might be enjoyable, but until then it s a huge, loud mistake.
This hotel has the potential to be really nice. Unfortunately, it needs a lot of work in multiple departments. First was our room- we had an ocean view room in the other tower. The tower needs a serious overhaul. It s very dated. I would attribute the furnishings to a lower end hotel. The rooms are very noisy. We could hear everything next door. The carpet had several large stains on it. The walls, frames, and furniture all had little bumps and nicks to give an overall impression of not really being taken care of. Our friends room had to be moved because they were under the restaurant and it was noisy all night. They also had mold in the bathroom. The view from the room was very nice but it s a busy area so people can look right in to your room. The grounds were very pretty but structures showed a lot of wear and tear. There just didn t seem to be a crew who are actually taking care of the buildings very well. Looking around the pool area- the cabanas all had paint peeling off, and everything was just kind of beat up. It s a shame because they have such a fabulous piece of land- that if someone took better care of it- it could be great.
They had some cute restaurants which we were unable to try during our time. We did try food at the pool and it was subpar. There were barely any people coming by to take an order. The food was very expensive for nothing. $11 for a hotdog with nothing else?
Another issue was there is spotty cell service and the internet is spotty and not great. My friend had to make a business call to Los Angeles because no cell service. He was charged $108 dollars for a 30 min call. In today s day and age its ridiculous that they would charge telephone rates like that.
Overall the price you pay for the rooms is too much for the quality. It s a great location but they can t just bank on having a historic hotel with a nice location. It s disgraceful to have rooms that are dirty and stained and moldy. They are in the middle of a big renovation and adding new rooms- the article I read did not mention any of the old rooms being refurbished unfortunately.
This place is beyond beautiful. We stopped here for breakfast and shopping early on the morning. The brunch buffet was amazing and the view cannot be beat. Great service and variety.
Too costly for the value of the food. Tables were to close, and the servers were average. Valet parking was a nightmare. No direct access to the crown room. Slippery and cold and wet. Will not do it again for Thanksgiving.
Historic hotel right on the beach. The service was really good. Staff were very inviting and made sure that we are well taken care of. The room was bright and roomy - updated and clean.
Brunch was amazing, great variety of food ,drinks deserts .waiters were very curious,an right there to wait on us.crown room is magnificent,an majestic....
Rooms can be small. Food and service is great. Beach and pool areas are clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. Great location to shopping and restaurants.
The rooms are really run down I know it s supposed to be a historic building but it s also a 4 star hotel the rooms need to be up kept which they are not.. the pools were closed for the weekend which I was not made aware when I called a few days before my arrival.
I just went to walk around and be a tourist. There was so much going on, between the many other tourists, hotel guests, the men building an ice skating rink, and the conference being hosted there. The beach is nice and not toi crowded. Most of the restaurants and eateries are closed and not many people were at the bar. It was about noon when I arrived.
Perfect in every sense of the word! Ok, think of your ideal vacation experience... THIS (the Hotel del Coronado) is just that! Anyone who says differently is a liar.
I mesn, this place is a landmark. You can't go wrong if you are looking for classic California. It is VERY pricey, even for a coffee, but the charm and views can't be beat. Bring your credit card!!!
Wonderful service. Beautiful antique hotel with an old elevator that has an attendant to take you up and down . Atmosphere is relaxing with beautiful view.
Beautiful hotel! All herbs used for cooking are all grown on property. The hotel as whole is beautiful! A man does sand sculptures on the beach. It is on my bucket list to stay there as a guest.
As a resort, the hotel is amazing, with several amenities, shops, awesome access to the beach and a lot of historical charm. It did take quite some time to check in. The Hilton mobile app did not work to check out. Valet service can be slow, so factor that in when going out.
Our room was in one of the cabanas surrounding the main pool. This puts you virtually on the beach and a few steps away from all of the shops. That's the best part about the room.
Unfortunately, the room was very near the sound system for the pool. It was playing music until about 9:15 pm. Moreover, the room was right under a public area with tables and chairs. The sound of people walking and shuffling chairs is very noticeable.
There was a power failure the morning of our departure. Someone was taking a shower and was suddenly plunged into pitch black darkness. Very untimely and inconvenient. The staff was very apologetic but could not really help.
All in all, the stay could have been better. I don't think it will dissuade us from coming back, but we probably won't stay in the cabanas if it can be helped!
Wow. What a beautiful place this is. From the beach to the amazing food and craft beers. The wine was very good as well. Such a romantic place to go while in San Diego.
I was so excited to stay at this beautiful, historic hotel right by the beach and enjoy our honeymoon. We stayed in the ocean side towers at the hotel and wow were we disappointed. The room was not very nice at all and on top of that it was filthy. The door to the bathroom had some type of dried brown liquid dripping down the length of the door. We felt disgusting even stepping barefoot on the tile in the bathroom and the carpets. The sheets had black stains on them. You should not have to feel gross when you are paying hundreds of dollars for one night. This place has really gone down the tubes since being taken over by Hilton. What a huge disappointment. I would not recommend staying here. If you want to see the place, just walk through but do not waste your money here.
Value is not worth the price. Two glasses of the cheapest wine and an appitizer cost me nearly $120. Crowded with a conference so the service was slow. However the app was ok and wine fine as well.
Speaking only of going to the bar and walking the grounds. The place is beautiful and historic. They have an arcade of shops and restaurants and it is right on the beach. Definitely worth the trip.
I now see why this is the top spot to stay in San Diego. The rooms are very nice and the grounds are spectacular, especially the beach. I was here for a conference and the meeting rooms are pretty good too but is is the outdoor experience that will keep you coming back.
The hotel is simply beautiful.... classic meets luxury. And the location is wonderful. The grounds are extensive so its easy to get lost. But it is a wonderful place to visit.
We had an excellent time at this historic hotel. It was easy to imagine old fashioned balls in the ball room, and horse drawn carriages at the front steps. All the food we had was delectable and it was fun to ride in the more than 100 years old elevator. Highly recommending this hotel to anyone.
An American classic. Beautiful grounds, great food. Excellent service. One star removed for parking expense. Even with validated parking, still had to pay 25 bucks+ tip for parking. Had a great time. Most excellent sunset.
What more could you want from a historic hotel in a beautiful place like that? that's what they offer you .. a beautiful place, pool area to relax ... a dream place !!!
Great place to visit because of the Some Like it Hot connection but not sure I'd want to stay there. It's absolutely enormous, like a small town with a big shopping centre. Great beach with memories of Tony Curtis and Marilyn
Such a beautiful piece of architecture. Amazing atmosphere, great place to eat and drink. Coming from the Northeast it is normal to be skating around Christmas but was still very strange to be doing it in California.
Had a relaxing, lovely Christmas at the Hotel Del! Love the history of the Victorian hotel. Staff was helpful and kind. Beautiful balcony view. Loved every minute of our stay!
