Wow, beautiful facility, Paradise. From the beach view is just amazing. The restaurants are top notch. The architecture, the history, truly magnificent. Worth the insane parking costs.
Just sat on this beautiful beach. Walked around the Dell and bought $7 water. Crazy but beautiful day.
Historic and quaint with good (but expensive) food. Beach is great! Best in the area!
nice little shops for knick knack. Reminds me of Diagon Alley.
Ate dinner at Sheerwater Restaurant. The swordfish was excellent and service top notch. It was very pricey, but the ambiance almost made it worth it.
Fascinating historical building in Southern California. Worth the walk around to imagine what it must have been like back in its heyday at the turn if the century (the 20th that is...) It opened in 1888 as the largest resort hotel in the world and has been featured in a number of movies and hosted VIPs over the years.
My dream came true to come here since I was ten I'm 49 now ...and it was AMAZING ...A check off my bucket list thank you
Loved this hotel in San Diego! Whenever I come back, I plan on renting a room again. You treated me like a KING! Thanks again!
Meh. This place was fine. The service was TERRIBLE! It took 2 hours just to find a room for our family. I really liked how close it was to the beach and there were no stairs. The beach was beautiful and we had a fun time. Our room is tiny. I was expecting something better. No balcony. Barely any air. Closet was small. No beach view. Creaky floors. I guess it was okay, it wasn t awful, but I need something more than this. I recommend this to ghost hunters you are pretty rich and want to find Kate (a woman who s soul haunts the del after she committed suicide.) But any family that wants something REALLY NICE probably shouldn t come here.
Beautiful on the outside, disappointing on the inside. We stayed in the Victorian section and while I understand that the hotel is very old, the overall cleanliness of the hotel is very disappointing. We stayed for 4 days and empty cans and trash that was left by patrons on the community balcony on day 2 was still there on day 4 when we left. The cushions on the chairs were floppy and worthless and when I picked one up to fluff it up a bit there were tons of food crumbs and stains all over. The carpet in the main walkway, elevator and room has more stains than I could count. Our hotel bathroom had mold all over the grout, probably because there isn't a bathroom fan to get rid of moisture. These things might seem minor but when you start to pay attention, you really notice the neglect. Like peeling paint chunking off on the inside of our window sill when I opened the shutters and wall paper sliding off the wall in the bathroom. I did appreciate that whenever I called down to ask for new towels or more coffee they brought it up within 20 minutes or so. Because of Corona, they aren't cleaning the rooms daily so I'm glad I was able to request things as we needed them. I didn't book there thinking it was going to be pristine but seriously, what would it take to replace ancient carpet and buy new outdoor cushions? The view and beach on the other hand were spectacular! Absolutely gorgeous. We will definitely be going back to Coronado Beach, just not the hotel.
The hotel building in white and red is just amazing and the Coronado beach near it,is just breathtaking. The ambience around the place is so relaxed and with the music concert going on on the beach,it was an unforgettable experience.Being so old (established in 1888),there is an historical aura around it.I found the place very intriguing.
Beautiful setting, interesting history. Ocean, palm trees, great food...
really great place to visit!!
We went to check out this landmark but I don't have to go back. The venue is beautiful but even just the bar/snack menu prices were out of control. Not a place you can stay for too long to hang out because it's just too expensive.
Very nice, good food, historic feel and a nice view.
Didn't like the plastic cutlery and cups
Wow tasty and also really great service. 13/10 would recommend
Beautiful location and a great place to just walk around and enjoy the views. Hotel has that great historic feel and being steps away from the beach is always a plus!
Had so much fun! Had lunch overlooking the beach. It was beautiful.
Although I cannot say that I actually stayed at the Coronado Hotel, I visited it again just recently to stroll through the hotel and immaculate grounds. An amazing classic iconic hotel if there ever was one. The staff is kind, professional yet gracious to even those who are just enjoying the ambiance of this magnificent hotel. Maybe someday I might stay just a night or two before my time is done here... Magnificent.
Legacy hotel on the beach. Lots of happy people. Fun place to go to experience some tide pools and shells on the beach
You got to go yourself I can't describe it Mighty Fine Place with such Rich history and beautiful view
Did not stay at the hotel but was able to walk around the property and went inside. You can go on a tour of the hotel but it's fairly expensive per person and it is only in the morning. In one of the shops it has a history of the hotel for free and some photos from when Marilyn Monroe filmed there. Definitely worth the visit. Also, there is a room that is supposed to be extremely haunted.
We visited Coronado for the day including the Hotel del Coronado. What a beautiful older hotel! The exterior takes one back to the days of old with the architecture and the beach location just adds to it. The interior is quite beautiful and has an old world feel to it. There are several historical photos about the hotel and celebrities that have visited it throughout the years. We visited the stores and especially liked the Est. 1888 store with all of the attractive and unique gifts and historical items and the candy store has a good variety of treats. A great place to check out when in Coronado.
Jimena at the beach was so nice and helpful! Great service and amazing experience! Beautiful beach!
Beautiful at night, great holiday time aesthetic. Easy access to beach and nearby establishments.
Hotel with lots of history and wood...my kind of place! It's a great place to get away during the holidays, staff is great and so are the accommodations. Plus you can't beat the lobby with its 120+ year-old elevator!
We sat in the bar for a couple Margaritas and tacos.
The Cadillac Margaritas were excellent, we also had the Mahi Mahi tacos, they are fantastic, great piece of fish grilled perfectly, excellent avocado mix with fresh cilantro
I love the beach, the location for conferences and the atmosphere.
We visited for the history of the hotel. The holiday decorations were magnificent. The staff were friendly and very well dressed. The hotel was in impeccable shape and there was no litter or dirtiness going. The historic elevators are a marvel I could watch for hours. This place is an architect's weakness.
Had a marvelous time walking through the hotel and the sand on the beach. Topped off the evening outdoors, celebrating friendships and the sunset with a dirty martini w/blue cheese stuffed olives. Yum!
We shall see. It was a tough start dealing with front desk. They tried charging a cancellation fee for a slight change in reservation. Its corrected, but it took going to top to get results.
Amazin place, great service, beautiful surroundings, Sunday buffet is the best in All San Diego.
Beautiful historic location, with great access to the beach and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Also plenty of shops and restaurants and smacks. Basically you won't have to leave the hotel unless you want to. Definitely check out the antique elevator, classic! It's a bit pricey but worth the expense for the experience.
Historic and beautiful. Kind of expensive and dark inside. LOTS of construction going on right now(spring, 2019) so be prepared for traffic and noise.
This property is beautiful and well maintained! The views are outstanding!
Beautiful hotel. Rich with history. Gorgeous Crown Room and Ball Room. Everyone on staff is very friendly, curious and, of course, helpful. Large heated pool.
We didn t stay here but we walked around and it is just such a beautiful hotel! Very open to the public to come check out and enjoy. Beautiful beach! Looks like a great place to have a wedding too.
Just came here for a truly delicious Thanksgiving meal. Wow!
Food was varied and super tasty even for the pickiest of eaters in our family. My husband and I enjoyed staring with an array of seafood. Sushi to fresh crab. So yummy and sauces were perfect.
The carving station was busy but plentiful. Lamb. Turkey and all the fixings. But the crem de la crem was the Prime rib. Absolutely THE BEST! ANd the sour cream horseradish sauce was a delicious accompaniment.
Dessert was good. Not super amazing.
Service was ok but friendly. I think that had to do with the massive crowd.
Nonetheless we had a delicious meal in a beautiful and historic setting. Wondering what Marilyn and Bing thought of this gem.
Absolutely love the atmosphere and decor at this hotel. Staff is very friendly and will have no problem accommodating your needs.
Went for breakfast buffet. Food is okay. Service great, view is nice. Super expensive, though.
The ice rink at the Hotel Del is a great way to spend a winter afternoon in San Diego. You get great views of the ocean as well as the historic Hotel Del.
This is the best hotel in San Diego. My family and I come back every year, because the amenities and the views can't be beat.
Memories, classic place which I have stayed at many times. Excellent service, food, great room, love all the amenities. Nephew proposed to his future wife here
I love wandering around the beach and Hotel del Coronado! It's just a 20 min drive from my house, but it feels like a luxurious vacation far away! So relaxing--a beautiful place to relax and clear my head. I love that the hotel is open to us non-guests . I hope it always stays that way!
I was given a fully paid gift card for a 3 day, 2-night stay in an ocean view room and when I tried to make the reservation I was told the card expired. CA law is very clear that pre-paid cards have no expiration. For a hotel that prides itself on customer service, they just showed they have no customer service. Travelers better beware if you plan to give a gift like this.
I had some very good experiences at the hotel, and pretty stressful experience with the room.
If you have allergies, I would NOT recommend staying in the original historic building. I was super allergic and I don't even have allergies exactly. The room was tiny and not very clean and just kind of depressingly dark too. They moved us into the Towers, which were amazing, but just something to think about. If they hadn't had occupancy, I would have had to leave.
I love the grounds, the restaurants and the beach! It is gorgeous and relaxing. The food at the Sheerwater Restaurant was wonderful. So was the Taco Shack.
I would definitely return to this beautiful place.
It's always a great view of the shore from the courtyard
Excellent Happy Hour and the craft drinks are bomb.
Amazing place, has great workers and has a very nice ocean view, it is a very huge hotel. I definitely recommend this place for tourists and visitors. It has a salt water pool and hot tub, there are 3 pools. I definitely like it .
We toured the hotel on a guided tour. The tour was great history tour of the hotel from a dream to reality and its evolution over time.
It was a nice vacation area with a great atmosphere
An absolutely beautiful place but very over-priced. Bars and restaurants had good food and drink and great service, but prices were outrageous. Beautiful beach and terrific location. If you want to indulge a bit at a gorgeous place, this is it.
Whats left to be said of this classic place! Went and stayed for the thanxgiving weekend and didnt disappoint. We brought our dog and it was an awesome experience as all the surrounding places were accommodating. Cant wait to go again!
This hotel was a mess. First of all we had reservation for 5 rooms on the patio that also 5 people, we ended up having 4 rooms scattered around the hotel, that only slept 3. Second is the food. It's terrible! We ordered a burger and it took 1 hour to bring us a burger with nothing on it. Also I bought a muffin at the B&S bakery, and was told it had no nuts, since I have allergies. It ended having a while layer of nuts at the bottom. Also everything is over priced. A 3 oz salmon was $34! The final thing is its only one mile from an active naval base, which had aircraft and helicopters flying over head from 9 am- 10 pm. On the other hand the only reason I have it one star because of the friendly staff. I recommend staying at the Hilton or Marriott in San Diego, and just visit this hotel, or eat dinner there
I rented an umbrella from the beach shop. Prices were pretty high, but it is a nice beach and we had the umbrella for the whole day. Decided not to go to the beach bar because $20 for a drink is way to high.
I love this place! Has mystery where ever you go in the hotel.l try to come at least once a year. Staff are friendly and attentive! Very clean, but needs more restroom stalls on main floor. Very romantic and inviting!
I've been lucky enough to stay at some fine hotels. Was very excited to spend 2 days at the del Coronado with it's great history and amenities.
That bei g said when paying 1200 dollars for those two nights you expect your room cleaned before 3 and 4 PM and not to fi d the hall lined with fruit trays on the floor and towels thrown in the corner's the only polite staff were the valets breakfasts room service took well over an hour. Otherwise a great ocean view
Everyone knows 'Some like it hot' :) Love this movie, love this place.
Curious fact, from English to Russian 'Some like it hot' was translated like 'in jazz just girls' ( )
Nice beach access. Terrible service. A "coastal view" is 95% parking lot and 5% coast. Very dirty lobby and rooms are not clean. Pool is akin to a motel. Way too overpriced for what you get.
Such a disappointment. The hotel and the grounds are beautiful, as is the beach. The hotel has a huge construction project going on, so one entire side of the property is cordoned off. Lots of workers and noise from 6 a.m. on. The elevator in the lobby is broken, so the bellman took us outside and across, the property to a second service elevator to reach our 5th floor room. It was so hard to get to the elevator from our room that we ended up walking up and down 5 flights of stairs while we were there.
There was a large conference going on while we were there, so the beautiful courtyard outside the entrance was closed to the public. You had to walk around the edge to get to the front door. The dining room inside was also closed for a private function. We tried to go in to eat breakfast but were told we could not. We were told there was another restaurant in the basement area After walking around downstairs and being unable to find it, we asked someone attending the conference, who told us it was outside on the first floor by the beach. Bingo!
The last night that were were there there was a huge party (private, of course) downstairs. The music was very loud, as were the party goers. The party went on until after midnight. The noise carried throughout the building. We couldn t sleep and I doubt that anyone else could either.
This was supposed to be a special trip to celebrate our anniversary. We splurged on our stay and regret that we chose to stay at the Del.
Wonderfull and Amaizing Rull Experience and beutyfull place in Coast & Harbour. Other World. Congratulations all propertys abr goverment ir San Diego abe Coronado people. THANCK YOU Berry much. DANKE volks une Platz
Beautiful historic place. We really appreciated seeing this place in person.
Only went for a conference but it's a beautiful old hotel
In the best way, visiting "The Del" is like stepping back in time to the Victorian era of the late 1800s. The hotel's owners have done a commendable job modernizing certain elements while retaining the antique charm of the property. You can certainly find wifi in the hotel, but the elevator is still original and, as I was told by a server, the 3rd one ever made by that company. It still needs an elevator operator! The food and drinks were fantastic, if a bit overpriced (it's a hotel, after all). I've heard they're revamping the outdoor bar area...hopefully with more and better heaters. The only negative to our visit was, due to the colder winter weather, we couldn't really sit outside for long. Patio heaters outside the main bar and beachfront bar would have helped tremendously. Do yourself a favor and visit this hotel! It's the absolute picture of the saying, "They just don't make 'em like this anymore!"
We went just to check it out because it is a must see in San Diego. It was beautiful!
Just went to walk the beach. And see the iconic hotel which was very nice lots of people and lots of activities going on. Definitely a very very nice place to visit
This place is among my top five favorite resorts in the world. The cottages and villas are adjacent to the historic Hotel Del Coronado, , which dates back to 1885. Beach Village rooms have a casual, yet luxurious beach-side vibe. Our family has stayed in the same corner room during our annual summer weekly visits. We chose a two bedroom suite, which had one large bedroom with a king bed, and the other with two queens, each room with its own fireplace and large bathroom. There is also one large living area with terrific gourmet kitchen, fireplace, dining room and living room area and love the pool areas.
This was be one of your most memorable, fun vacations ever. It is expensive, but they offer packages and deals for off-season travel.
Got a male pedicure, served with a double shot of bourbon at their spa. It was a gift for my 54th b-day from my daughter. It was strangely unique, yet very relaxing...
Stay was amazing, comparable to my stay in san diego
I didn't stay at the hotel so I can only speak to what the grounds and public spaces were and they were beautiful and on a beautiful beach.
Gorgeous architecture. Local guide told us that the owners weren't too sure of the skill of the workers and so they had them build a "baby" del first (you can see this baby del from hotel) to work out any kinks.
Gorgeous older style luxury. Many shops, and a beautiful beach to enjoy and watch a sunset. Very romantic.
Old dates rooms. Horrible check in with huge lines. Room was not serviced even when asking to make sure. As expensive as this place is it sure wasn't at all what I expected. If I'm ever in the area i will not come back.
The brunch was spectacular! Wagu brisket phenomenal
Beautiful hotel! Great service too. We didn't even stay here but the people we talked to were very friendly. Will definitely be coming back here!
Beautiful place to visit, whether you stay for just one day or an entire week.
The beach, sun, sand and margaritas what more can you ask for
What a nice hotel. Pricey but I have no complaints. Thank you for electric car charging.
I love the service here! Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. Great amenities
Never even knew of the place. Spent a week and had a blast. Place is awesome
I was surprised we were charged a tax on the air we breathed. $165 for a s mores fireplace is a perfect example of how they rinse as much cash out of the patron as possible.
Also, Maybe just the weekend we were there but it was sooooo busy.
Just used the pool because our hotel down the street was doing work on theirs. It was very nice. Pretty cool to see it.
One of the best hotels in the world. If you understand what it means to stay in a seaside Victorian hotel from the late 1800's, you'll truly appreciate this location. Tacos and beer on the beach helps too.
Great location and service. Rooms are spacious and clean. The only downside is the construction in parking lot.
The staff is rude and unprofessional. They will cancel your reservation without calling or emailing you about it. It is like pulling teeth trying to get ahold of anyone at the front desk. When they finally get back to you they make it out to be your fault, when they are the ones who are at fault.
Wonderful establishment all year round but especially now
This years Xmas ornament was not that impressive, hope next year is better, I collect them
The view of the beach was beautiful, the drinks were refreshing, and the food was filling. Definatly enjoyed the environment.
