Great place to walk around! Go enjoy the daily sandcastle and relax in your rented cabana on the softest sand this side of the Pacific.

Stayed here for meetings and really enjoyed the property. The staff did a great job and the food was excellent. Another bonus was you are walking distance from other bars and restaurants as well and it was overall a great trip.
CAme over for a dinner at your hotel. Dinner was good but the quality of your sanitary care in your public washrooms was poor. If a serious resort like yours hopes to attract more than just your room clients to augment your profits, you had better make sure you 'take care' of them as well - by keeping clean bathrooms.
This place is beautiful, and fun to visit even if your not actually staying there. Also, they're section of the beach has sand dollar's.
This hotel was a great place to stay with family for a weekend in San Diego. It is a beautiful location, with an excellent view of the ocean and direct access to the beach. The rooms were nice with (if you book early) some having a huge balcony overlooking the ocean.
Walked around here...Classic wooden architecture beauty in the past... Memories of one of my favorite star Marilyn Monroe.....1958
Only walked around the grounds to check it out. It has some convenient shops and food on the property or across the street. It has that old plantation feel from the exterior and lobby.
Super nice hotel and super expensive too! But overall a great experience. If you want to visit a famous place this is the place to go
Separate building convenient to beach and pool. Hallway could use a coat of paint, but the room was comfortable and clean.
Terrific bar. No egg white cocktails but otherwise super bartenders and a solid great cocktail menu. Mezcal punch pictured.
Neat history and great beach. Cafes and restaurants are very posh and ritzy. Incredibly high prices for pretty normal fare. $6+ coffee $12 oatmeal, ... Can easily walk down the street for more average priced meals though.
Drinks and food was very pricey $28 for a beer and a glass of wine. Really?
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Del. The beachfront rooms are very convenient and offer great views. Great food, great hospitality, and overall a great experience. Highly recommend.
I visited the hotel for a few hours to walk around and see thr beach. Thr hotel its3lf is quite beautiful and has plenty of shops and restaurants. The hotel has a constant flow of tourists and is a little busy. Thr parking is pricey at $30 for the first 2 hours and $70 overnight. Parking can be reduced to $5 with validation. Validation is offered after you spend $50+ at any shop or restaurant. The beach is beautiful but always full with people. I definitely recommend visiting at least once.
Meh...definitely in need of renovation.
Room bookings are misleading. "Tower" was a first floor room over looking the dirty laundry bins.
Great location but there are better choices for the money.
Nice historic hotel. Attended a birthday party. Has a upper class feel, and nice courtyard at night when we were there to relax.
Beautiful historical hotel walk out to beach great servce
Question: When is a reservation not a reservation? Answer: When it is a $1300 dinner reservation for 7 for Christmas day made over a month before the holiday. Today 12/20 I was notified that the Ballroom was "not Available" despite the fact that I HAVE A RESERVATION for the ballroom. My only choice take the Crown room or nothing. I specifically chose the Ballroom because of the view of the sunset we would have. That is why I asked for and received a reservation for the ballroom not the Crown Room, but I guess that means nothing. How can the ballroom not be available if I ALREADY HAVE A RESERVATION? On top of that the hotel had already made me pay for the dinner in full, including tip, in order to make the reservation 1 month ago.
Quaint inviting great food and shopping amazing views
We love this Old Vintage Hotel. We love to come here for the beach and the ice cream. We even rode the old-time elevator this year.
One of the best days spent in San Diego was hanging out at Hotel Del Coronado. Iconic, historic and stunning architecture.lots to see and do, good restaurants and great beach with best views of sunset.
Was very nice place to visit and walk was very enjoyable time for me
Visited briefly while vacationing in the area. Beautiful structure and lobby, bar and dining areas are magnificent.
If one has a room in the main building, recognize that you are in a very, very old wooden hotel so keep your expectations low. I first stayed there for Superbowl XXll and it isn't any better. On the other end of the spectrum, expect to pay outrageously high prices for food and beverages.
Really nice location and amenities. Super friendly staff and the pool is nice.
Food stops being served at the food trucks at 4pm.
Too many people so cellular data is zero, no wifi
Technically can't bring your own alcohol.
Protip, sit at the tables near the sand, not the ice rink, and bring your own beer.
I would have given it 1 star but the view was beautiful. The rooms were beat down, so if you can tolerate stained and worn out expensive rooms for a great view, this is your place!
This is my favorite historic hotel in the United States!! It overlooks the beach, has so much history, is beautiful and the accommodations from restaurants to shops to ice cream parlors to ice skating on the property at Christmas time can t be beat. This is a must see hotel if even to visit for a few hours and grab a drink at the outdoor patio bar overlooking the beach! They have the best sangria on the island and fire pits year round that adds to ambiance. Amazing amazing amazing!
I am very impressed by the public amenities in and around the hotel. The beach is open to the public as well as much of the hotel grounds. There were food trucks and taco shacks and pristine gold flecked beaches.
If I had one complaint, the construction going on in the area is quite loud and intrusive. Hopefully it wraps up soon!
We were really disappointed in this hotel. Traveled there with family for a work event. I will exclude the obvious annoyance of having a construction site outside our window that we weren t told about. The air conditioner didn t work, there was one pool for 700 some odd rooms (which was thoroughly over crowded), the charges were offensive if it were a four seasons - $28 hamburger, wines marked up 5x, charges for umbrellas on beach, etc. The rooms are really horrible - A/C didn t work, carpet was disgusting, room smelled, etc. To make matters worse, the staff seemed overwhelmed. The only saving grace was I didn t have to pay for this given it was a work event.
If your on Coronado Island, a visit to Hotel del Coronado is a must. A stroll through the shops or sitting on the pier while grabbing lunch, this is a must see. Paradise!!
It has amazing history, views are amazing. There are a lot of people coming to this place so be aware of the tourist environment around this hotel. It's a beautiful building and is one of the oldest wooden buildings in the USA
Wonderful service and a million dollar view. Drinks were well apportioned and used high quality, fresh ingredients.
Hotel Del has become a staple of my family's Christmas experience in San Diego. Between the awesome tree in the lobby, the elevator operator who reportedly has been there for 57 years, and watching the people who pay out the nose to ice skate, it is a wonderful experience. :)
Went for a walk on the beach and stopped to grab some Ice cream at the Hotel Del Coronado. This ice cream is delicious. I would recommend getting a smaller size because these treats are so rich and filing.
The ice arena is amazing right by the ocean. Food is OK prices are very high.
Great experience. Awesome service and everything was always clean.
Didn't stay at the hotel, but stopped by to check it out while in Coronado. Being a lover of Marilyn Monroe movies, it was fantastic to see the hotel in person. Decor is lovely and the beach is super nice.
Room 3502 supposed to be haunted anyone been in there ?
Utterly disappointing. The Hotel del Coronado was overpriced, overrated, overcrowded and underwhelming. We were so looking forward to staying at this iconic hotel. It turned out to be an incredible let down. The entire hotel was overrun with day trippers which made our stay chaotic and stressful. The lobby, restaurants and outdoor areas were crammed. No where to sit or relax, other than your own room. The room was shabby and outdated. We are more than willing to pay for a highly priced room but expect it to as least meet if not exceed expectations. The rooms at the Del are in dire need of an overhaul. Prices for food and drink were exhorbitant. $22 for a martini and $6.50 for a Latte. Last but not least, valet parking only. But since you are parking with hundreds of day trippers it takes forever to get your car.
Unfortunately, this hotel doesn't make their paying guests a priority and it shows. This stay was a costly mistake. One we won't be making again.
Management needs to be replaced.
Great place with a good amount of history to it but be ready to break the bank.
Beautiful, historic, best beach ever. Boogey boarded for first time. Water was warm, beach and bathrooms clean. Shopping and dining excellent.
Tired, run down and worn out. Not up to par with their reputation and marketing photos, and anyone posting 5 stars must have stayed in a different hotel than I just did over fathers day. Pool deck is crumbling and broken, so wear shoes or you will step on small pieces of broken concrete. Valet service was thoroughly unimpressive for $50/night. For the amount of points I used to stay here it should be 5 star. Hilton corporate did refund me half my honors points, which was a nice gesture, but travelers beware, Prepare to be disappointed.
Outrageous parking fees, once you are in the entrance don't have much other options than to park, I thought it is $5 for one hour (the info on the parking entrance was unclear), but found about the minimum purchase of $50 is needed to get the parking $5 at the time of payment. At the end paid $30 for parking for 35 minutes of stay in the premises. Horrible, this is the maximum I paid for parking till now, for 35 minutes.
This hotel is rich in history and beauty. It is definitely worth a visit.
Wow!!! Lots of history, very unique and different. If you can get the turret room is worth the extra money. Staff does not live up to the hotel. Not engaged and not alot of info, especially when going thru renovations. As you could imagine expensive, food was off the charts expensive. Food trucks on stay open till 4pm for food, but everyone watches the sunset on the beach. Inconvenient but is a loss of revenue. We would come back. The hotel is unbelievable and so are the beaches there.
Fantastic Place full service large rooms a little bit age but very nice large always great facilities lots of fun people-watching beautiful beaches I would definitely go back again
Such a gorgeous place! So beautiful! Ive never been to the Del but ive heard many stories. I love the history and the richness of all the decorations and structures. So much thought was put into this building back in the 1800s. So much history has happened here and I feel like I've stepped into a time machine.
worth visiting! The beach, sunset views and the hotel bar are perfectly placed.
Great view, wonderful ambiance, perfect place to go.
The preservation of a bygone era. Beautiful buildings inside and out. The chandelier with the mass of white tulips is stunning. The elevator with the brass fittings and live attendant was quite a pleasant surprise
55+ minute wait vor valet. What a great send off... nobody here seems to care...
If you're looking for architecture it is a beauty inside. Naked use a little more Lighting in the lobby. But the staff are warm and friendly and extremely helpful.
We had a wonderful stay! Staff was amazing. We loved the restaurants, the breakfast buffet was great! Room was clean and spacious. We definitely will be back.
Giving the current environment, they did a great job. There was no room service because of the pandemic. The main building was closed for renovations which was a little disappointing. Limited menu at the restaurant and not sure if that was because of the limited staffing or it was typical. What they had was great. Looking forward to the renovations being completed in 2022 and returning.
Took the mermaid fitness class and it was FABULOUS. I highly recommend it! So fun. It is a bargain, too, if you're a local ($15). However, a huge negative is that there is not a place for people to shower or even change after class. We tried to go to the spa showers/locker room to rinse off and change (wanted to get the pool water and chemicals off) and the attendant rudely stopped us and said unless we were there for a spa treatment, we had to leave. If you're going to offer aquatic fitness classes, you need to provide facilities for your paying customers to change, at the very least.
It was a beautiful place to walk through with all the great architecture. Furthermore, the various shops were quite fun as well.
It's like going back in time!! So magical. The pace is calm and everyone is so sweet.
Dont come here the ghost of kate morgan haunted my room and they wouldnt give me a refund after i tried too leave in the middle of the night!!!! The ghost stories are true i promise to god
Great hotel that's been here for 129 years, and will probably be here 129 years from now. Top-notch service, facilities, and location. The only downside is the one you would expect: Be prepared to spend a lot of money to pay for the experience.
So overrated. The hotel is absolutely not worth the price. When I was there the property was in desperate need of a renovation. Too often old grand hotels rely on past reputations and don't keep up with quality. The food is absolutely overpriced. The only thing worth it was the ice cream store.
Nice hotel but it feels like they are living off of their reputation from a bygone era.
It is also extremely crowded at times which takes away from having a relaxing experience.
Great location. But getting too expensive. A Tito's Bloody Mary in a plastic cup was $18. Hilton bought the place recently. And the prices have gone through the roof.
The rooms and the property are very tired. The property is messy and the service is very poor for the crazy amount they charge. There is only so much the history of a property can attract customers. I would look elsewhere before I considered staying here again.
Classic hotel that is a must visit if in the area. But not as glamourous or elegant/quiet as expected. Lots of tourists!
Great place! Outstanding service. Wonderful accommodations! Thank you to Kelly, Don, Gary!!!
Kraig and Ruben amazing service!! The food the environment...the FOOD...worth every dollar. Thank you for making our visit special. Unforgettable even. Just Brilliant.
This famous landmark hotel is just steps away from the beach, and it's only a few more minutes away from the little shops and store from the town center of Coronado. One of our favorite places to visit in San Diego. A very nice place to stay a night or two, and the architecture is fun to see as well. A lunch or dinner can be a nice, albeit a bit pricey, treat for the family.
This hotel is really beautiful and what a sunset view!
Iconic San Diego location for enjoying the sunshine and white sand beaches. The sun deck is where it s at but don t be surprised by the sticker shock. You can bring your own food and drink for the area that is not served by the bar and grill.
Never book this room with a deal. If you pay less than $300 a night you might as well stay in an inexpensive motel because they'll put you off the parking lot in a old room.
Such a beautiful place. This big icon for San Diego County is just beautiful, right next to the beach which is great. The staff is wonderful, the place is super clean, will definitely come back and enjoy this place in the near future
A bit run down and overpriced. Like big time overpriced...especially for parking and the restaurants. But the location and history. So cool!
Being there years ago and at an off time (Feb), I felt it did not have the class it use to. It is geared toward the tourist and over priced gift shops. Very disappointing.
Beautiful place to visit and remanece about a long time ago. Very famous place for well to do people. Beach front and they have a food hut facing the beach.
The area is really beautiful and it is amazing for all ages
Parking garage charged me $70 to get my car out after one night because my room key wasn t linked. Didn t clean my room. Didn t bring me new towels. Room phone didn t work. Called for maintenance to come to the room they didn t show up. Called for towels, didn t get them. Called front desk, got sent to voicemail. Called for towels again, finally got someone and said they would send them. They never came. Horrible.
San Diego native who loves visiting the beach in which this hotel is located. Great atmosphere and always something to see or do.
Amazing. Really gorgeous place. Sunday brunch is really worth the price.
Beautiful step back into history while providing plush accommodation.
It's a beautiful place, if you can find parking during the day, otherwise evenings are great for walks.
This place is incredible. I took my wife here on our honeymoon and before that I proposed to her on the shores here. Absolutely stunning hotel.
