We had such an amazing stay here but honestly. That was because Dorian from the front could not have been more helpful for my mother and I. I forgot a few items in our vehicle and he went and grabbed them from us. We will be coming back and staying there just because of how helpful and amazing he was.

Hotel was nice and clean, and front staff were very helpful. Room was very nicely laid out, and the bathroom had wonderful amenities and hand pumps for all of the body wash/shampoo which was great compared to the normal small bottles. Only complaint was the rather expensive parking which was not included in the room fee. I would probably stay somewhere cheaper next time that has free parking, as the surface parking onsite cost an additional $ 21.00

Gorgeous hotel, full stop. Beautiful decor, high tech and comfortable amenities, and restaurants right in the hotel to please even the foodie in a group. Well appointed rooms, and the hotel itself offers many of the 'little things' that make a hotel noteworthy.

A stylish boutique Hotel with excellent rooms. Our balcony overlook the pool which looks really nice. The breakfast was excellent and the location was within a 5 minute walk of the Calgary Tower and shopping district.

Stayed in a single king room. Very interesting decor in the rooms and throughout the hotel. There's also a TV in the bathroom mirror! As this used to be an apartment building the rooms are larger than average, and I believe they all have balconies which is great in the summer. There was one technical issue with low water pressure in the bar sink, but the bathroom one was fine. Soundproofing was surprisingly good as well, not sure if anyone was staying next door but I heard nothing through the night.

As far as the ambience of the place goes I would rate it 5/5. The art work in the lobby area and the decor of the rooms is great but I have deducted 2 because to me it felt the hotel was quite miserly. Triple occupancy when you charge 50% extra means you provide amenities for three people but sadly they were inadequate for even two. Only two bathrobes, two hand towels. But worst was only two paper cups, two glasses and only two sugars and two milk sachets. Do they lose a lot of money on sugar and milk. Is Calgary full of people who steal sugar sachets or is it state policy to dissuade people from consuming sugar. Only one packet of tea and two stirrers. And this was not the worst even in the smallest of hotels on my trip including Airbnb we could get WiFi on all three phones, an ipad and a Kindle but here in a luxury hotel only three devices could be connected. You needed to contact reception to get to connect your iPad too. Who wishes to waste time on such things when you are on a vacation and only in town for a single night. They may be saving a lot of money but I wouldn't really give them marks for hospitality.

Beautiful hotel with very nice rooms and so much to do within walking distance. They were also very accommodating for us to do some wedding pictures in their lobby which made it all the better to go back for a staycation anniversary.

We had a pretty disappointing stay at Hotel Arts - it was somewhere I'd wanted to stay in Calgary for a long time and so I thought we'd give it a go. First issue - if you book a standard room, you will be hauling your luggage down a set of stairs and along a long hallway. We were at the far end which made it particularly annoying. All they needed was another luggage cart or dolly on this level. When I mentioned this to the front desk, they said that I had only booked a standard room and not a luxury - pretty rude customer service in front of other guests!

Next, our A/C/heater did not work properly and was stuck on max all night. No sleep at all. It wasn't until 7am that I could find a maintenance guy that told me to pull the thermostat out of the wall to cut the power to the unit. Managed 3 hours of sleep after that, though sadly did not get to enjoy the pool as we had to leave after that. The duvet was not clean and looked like it either had makeup or blood stains on it. Really not up to par for this level of hotel.

So Hotel Arts, I'll be sticking with a hostel next time I want to drag all my luggage 100 meters by myself.

This is such a fascinating building. I've never stayed here, but I've visited friends. The rooms are groovy. I have no comparison to other hotels downtown. However, I've thoroughly enjoyed every experience here. The staff are courteous and friendly. Please check it out sometime...

Great for 20 somethings. Staff and front of the house were very helpful and professional.
The rooms were nice / just ok. There was nothing that really made me feel like I was somewhere special. No special touches.. The noise level at night was a bit much. We had a room change and upgraded two of the nights, and ended up regretting the choice. Enjoyed the elbow room that it provided us, especially when getting dressed for the wedding we were there for, but with no view, and no aesthetics change between the old standard room and the upgrade suite it was not worth it. While the room was kept and made up, It just seems to be in need of good once over and a fresh coat of paint. In my opinion, it was not worth the money.

I went to this hotel to attend an Ingress anomaly as this was the hotel Niantic used for check in. It had parking conveniently beside the hotel and seamed to be a clean friendly hotel for the short time I was there for the event check in.

We stayed on the second floor.. the walk from the elevator to the room is ridiculously long. The sink for the bathroom is inside the room so you have to leave the area you used the restroom to wash your hands. Our view from our room was the H Vac on the roof of the daycare next door, you have to request a mini fridge. Our keycards kept demagnetizing so we had to get our keys coded about 5 or 6 times throughout the weekend. Luckily we booked at a low rate cause this room isnt worth a penny over $100 a night. Be aware which floor your room is on!

It's clean and modern. Well situated... Just missing the mark by trying to be too hip. I expected to pay a premium for a room service sandwich, but I didn't anticipate that I'd get an Air-conditioned Canada left-over and a packet of what used to be mustard.

Very clean facility, but even though I informed in advance of my food allergies, I was unable to eat any of the food prepared as entrees. This is the second time this has happened, thus the low rating.

Great venue, had lunch at the Yellow Door Bistro, food was outstanding as well as the service. Street parking is hard to find so parked in the adjacent lot beside the hotel. Guests have a benne for parking however if you are just going for lunch or dinner, you have to pay and it is expensive. Wish the parking was more reasonable for short visits or free if going to the restaurant's.

Was only there briefly as I was registering for an event. Parking out front was simple, the lobby was very well laid out, and there appeared to be ample space to hold events. I'd have stayed there for the event but even with a group discount, it was over my budget.

My favorite place to stay in the heart of downtown Calgary. The most comfortable beds combined with trendy decor and great products to enjoy. Only a 5 minute walk to Stephen Ave and great eating and arts venues. There are also a few great breakfast/ brunch spots and a veterans memorial park in the other direction to enjoy in the morning if you want to be away from crowds and the hustle and bustle of the terminals and walking street.

Attended a conference at this hotel. The hotel is in a good location with many restaurants nearby. The conference room was spacious for 100 participants, the food during coffee breaks was adequate. The one major drawback is that the air conditioning system in the conference room was very loud and constantly makes rattling noises.

I've stayed here a few times and we just recently spent a day at the pool for a stagette. This is a lovely hotel and the rooms are beautiful. It's nice to stay so close to downtown. The outdoor pool is amazing. The day we were there they had a DJ playing. The servers were very attentive and took great care of us. We had some super delicious food as well.

Stayed here for a night on the town, and we enjoyed our stay overall. We did encounter an issue at check-in, as the hotel's computer systems were down for several hours. Thankfully, the helpful and friendly staff were able to get us checked in manually with only the slightest of delays. Our room was spacious, clean, and well appointed, and the pool view and small patio are certainly pluses when it's a bit warmer out. The bed was very soft and comfortable. The underground parking was a benefit, and at only ten bucks a night for hotel guests, a pretty good deal. The parkade entrance isn't obvious - it's around the back of the building, near the daycare. The only other issue we had with our room was the shower - you couldn't change the angle of the shower head, so most of the water sprayed onto the wall, so you could really only wash one shoulder at a time. A minor issue that we didn't bother to bring up with the already burdened staff, but one that might have to have been dealt with on a longer stay. Overall, a very positive stay, and we would not hesitate to book here again.

Liked the hotel but had some issues with transparency and staff. Felt there could have been better communication.
Shocked that they charged for WIFI!
Were not clear on the costs for parking. When we arrived on Friday, we were told that the valet parking was $20 and self-parking was $10... Didn't seem too bad, until we found out three days later that that cost was per day!! Which was especially frustrating because some days we didn't even move the cars.
Would have been nice to know that to use the pool, you needed to reserve a table. Thought we could just run down for a quick dip and were not overly pleased that we needed to make a reservation and wait. The problem was though that the staff were not great at communicating this need to make a reservation. The same issue occurred at The Yellow Door for a Sunday brunch.

All in all though, very clean and comfortable rooms and fantastic location. Just wish the hotel would be more upfront about charges and reservation policies.
