Staying in their "luxury suite", made a pool reservation one week in advance to celebrate a special occasion. Upon arrival for our reservation we were told we would need to wait 1.5 hours for our spot. No apology or attempt to accommodate from the staff. Very clear why this is a 3-star property, could possibly be a 2-star.

Very nice accommodations, no-nonsense check-in, pleasant, smallish, cozy lobby with view to the pool that plenty of people seemed to be enjoying, drinks in hand, the evening of our stay. I'd be happy to stay here again.

I haven t stayed at the hotel, but spent the afternoon at the pool, and cannot say enough good things about my experience. Ordered one of the flatbreads, recommended by our server, and it was excellent. Very tasty! They have a great cocktail list and we enjoyed all of the drinks we ordered. As a non hotel guest, you pay a $20/person charge to use the pool, which is limited to 2.5 hours, but it s worth it. If you re looking for a fun way to spend a sunny afternoon in Calgary, definitely visit here!

Really great stay! Bed was super comfortable. The room was clean and modern! Very trendy hotel.
We had a beautiful view of downtown with a balcony which is an added bonus.
The front desk staff were accommodating and friendly. Even had a little mishap in the parking lot and they solved the issue right away :) overall amazing choice in hotel and will definitely stay again!

Bed is comfortable. No washcloth in the room. Bottle caps and garbage on the floor between bed and nightstand. Barn door on bathroom is frosted glass and doesn't stay closed, so good if no one else in the room with you. Quiet.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Hotel Arts in January. The staff were very friendly, the pool area was quite nice, and the restaurant and room service were excellent. We did however feel that the rooms were very small and the pillows were terribly uncomfortable (one tip we would highly suggest is bringing your own pillow if possible).

Had a luxury king room. It was a nice, clean room. Room was a bit smaller than I was expecting. Only issue was the heater was really loud and needed to stay on to avoid freezing due to it being really cold out. Would probably stay again.

Poor front desk service. Ironically the 'guest service manager' was particularly impolite and condesending. The bar and pool are open to non-guests, who, in our experience, were intoxicated, distruptive young people. The crowd of party goers seem to be a fixture in the hotel. Management seems to value the patronage of the bar crowd frequenting the hotel facilities above the guests. Management is young, inexperienced, condescending and indifferent to complaints about the noise and disruptions.
All in all not a place suited to take family.

The good: The staff were helpful at check in and with dinner recommendations. The room was clean and quiet.
The bad: The washroom. The entire thing is glass and while you can't see through it, the outline of the person in the washroom is visible. No privacy whatsoever. Also the sink is in the bedroom, so you are brushing your teeth etc in front of whoever else is with you. I would stay here as a solo traveler but not with my partner.
The area seemed to be completely shut down, on a holiday Monday in a major city, we expected something to be open to see or do, but it was a ghost town. The pool area was packed with what appeared to be mostly locals so we weren't able to use the pool. We won't stay again.

Recentlt attended a company Christmas function at this hotel. Did not experience the accommodation services offered but did experience the banquet provided to the large group of guests. The banquet room was very good but the food was something else. By the time our table of 8 got to the buffet the remaining food was cold and there was empty serving pans. There was no turkey or beef. Many people had to wait up to 15 minutes to receive the food items. The wine provided at each table was good. In closing, not a good choice for a company function.

My husband and I stayed in Hotel Arts during the weekend of June 17th and 18th and it was wonderful! The hotel is clean and beautiful; the staff are friendly and helpful; the beds are oh so comfortable and the shower was divine! We would like this opportunity to thank the front desk staff and the housekeeping staff for making this one of the best weekends in Canada. We will recommend this to all our friends and you will definitely see us again. Thank you! The Bosman s

The staff were super full helpful and welcoming. The room was simple but nice.

Cons - there was food crumbs left on the floor by the previous guest. We could also hear the people next us, at some points it felt like they were in the room with us.

The food is great and the atmosphere is excellent for a modern conference. It is a bit out of the way from transit but not enough to make it unaccessible. 1st and 13th Ave makes for a nice walk to the C-Train.

Overpriced! The walls are paper thin, you can hear people sneezing 3 rooms over. The outdoor pool is not heated. What use is an unheated pool in Alberta?! They don't even provide you with proper mugs.

The hotel tries to be upscale and nice but misses the mark on the fine details. Our bathroom had caked on grime on the door handle, light switch and the door itself was sticky. The staff person who checked us in was really rude but the staff outside of her were really great. The pool is nice but no one knows the rules for it, we heard 2 different rules from 4 different people which left us confused and disappointed. We made a reso for the pool and asked if we could eat and drink, they said yes but turns out the time we booked was closing time yet no one told us. So no clear communication. If the rooms are on sale I'd stay again but not full price. Have a meal at yellow door you won't regret it!

The room we were in had a heater that was so loud ...

The room we were in had a heater that was so loud when ever it kicked in every hour waking me. I barely slept all night.
The food was disappointing.. we got the five course meal with "premium" wine pairings. Three courses were fish (so all white wine) the first course was so salty it was almost painful, and it was fish in a gelatin. They had a warm carrot salad that barely had carrots and looked like slaw with bubbles on it.
On the plus side the desert was delicious.
Two of the wines were so terrible we could not bring ourselves to drink them, one actually tasted like it was soaked in dirty socks.
The waiter was actually awesome though, kept us laughing, apologized and after taking away two of the wines came back with a full portion of a really good glass of wine.
I suppose if I had not spent $300 on dinner for two, and $100 on parking (that I figured would be covered given staying at the hotel) and then cost of the hotel room where I wasn't even able to sleep it would have been okay of an experience. I would have had a cheaper and similar experience going to a cheap hotel with an awesome swimming pool and driving to a nice restaurant. I was trying my best to be positive but I don't think I will be returning unfortunately because I was so excited.

Rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Location and service are excellent. The noise from the hallways and neighbouring rooms is distracting and woke us several times during the night. Overall we still enjoyed the hotel a d will return.

Really terrible place to stay. I don t really understand the other reviews. I arrive and can t get checked in because their system hasn t updated my reservation purchase yet. Then my room has pubic hair in the tub needing to be cleaned. I switch rooms. I request for a toothbrush- because the rooms don t have these stocked - it never gets sent to me. I asked for a room clean, it never gets done in the time I requested or was told it would be. The initial check in with the male felt like I was just annoying to have to check in. The whole experience was just awful honestly. And I don t leave reviews often.

What a great place! The hotel couldn't be more accommodating. I've stayed twice, both times as a guest of DIRTT, and both times I've been blown away by the service and hospitality. The rooms are comfortable and the wifi is reliable. I would recommend the Hotel Arts to anyone.

Funky hotel within walking distance of all that you need to explore downtown. The pool area is wonderful, room service and staff great. My only small complaint this time around was the shower in our room, water pressure was a little slow but other than that, love this place!
