Hotel Arts Review

This is by far my favorite hotel! We normally go here for valentines day and our anniversary. Granted I have never been to the hotel when the pool is open, it still looks like a good time. If you do stay at Hotel Arts you absolutely have to go have a drink or dinner at the yellow door!

We had an amazing stay in this hotel. Food was good, room was clean everything was perfect.However the staff(a black guy) was not professional and friendly enough, made me feel like I was unwelcome. I didn't know why he was being a bit offensive

The team at Hotel Arts are awesome . We deal with Werna and she is has been amazing and leads her team very well

Room and beautiful and clean, staff were friendly, and pool is very nice!

Clean. New. Was at a wedding and food had mixed reviews. Our table had 6 complaints concerning food and coffee temperatures. Service was good.

Rooms are nice, bed super comfy, shower 9/10 and front desk service 10!!

Great place to stay downtown. 3 blocks from BMO centre. Staff is great and rooms are awesome.

Worked a Halloween function here a few years back. Was a great ambiance and friendly people. The brunch here is also quite nice.

This was our first time staying at Hotel Arts and all I can say is WOW. The outdoor pool was stunning and kept at a warm temperature so we were able to use it in the morning and evening. The fireplaces and couches were also the perfect spot for a morning coffee or evening cocktail.
The Yellow Door restaurant was so good! I had lamb and my husband had chicken and both were exceptional. We also ordered a pizza via room service for the kids and it was delicious. We had nachos poolside one evening and they to were phenomenal (as you can tell we loved the food)
The staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel was very clean. We had no concerns travelling during COVID as the hotel met and exceeded all of our expectations around social distancing and safety during Covid.
Amazing restaurants and pubs were steps from the hotel making it the perfect location. Almost every local restaurant that was recommended to us was within walking distance of our hotel.

We had brought our kids on the trip and were able to walk to many parks, the library, village ice cream (yum!) We were also only a ten minute drive from the zoo. We will most definitely be staying here again!

We were given a complimentary upgrade, room was lovely, bedding was superb, and was impressed how much noise the balcony windows blocked out from the street level construction. We'll be a guests again in the future.

Main lobby area was nicer than the rooms. Pool area is in the middle of the ground floor and filled with young party people.

Try not to get a room on the second floor- it is very close to the sidewalks in some section of the hotel so you get a lot of road noise. The gym is also open til late and not much soundproofing means you get noise til late at night.

Room was dusty and very humid - there were dust on the mirror, on the electric cords, on the lamp shades etc. There were also general stuff on the floor that made it seem like they don't vacuum every day. Temperature wise, it was actually cooler outside (either in the hallways or outside of the hotel) than in the room. Maintenance came by but said since the AC was blowing air, there was not much he can do. He couldn't explain why the AC was not removing the humidity. The humidity in the room reached 50% in the early evening - very uncomfortable, and then mostly hovered around 42%. Bathroom wasn't the cleanest - mildew everywhere in the shower area. Towels and bedspread looks like there were some yellow stains in the corners, and the towels smelled musty.

Some bellhops and valets were complaining in the front of the lobby about their jobs and other guests and they hate the general public. Not the nicest image when walking into a hotel.

Would rather stay at the Marriott Fairfield that it around the block - cheaper and nicer.

Went here for a wedding. Great venue, marvelous good, attentive but unobtrusive staff. Good layout for the meal and dance floor. The wedding party stayed overnight which is another nice feature.

One of my favourite hotels. Great rooms and great staff.

Nice hotel! Only downside is that I can smell people smoking in other rooms through the vent in my bathroom. Nice location easy to get around with Uber.

Had lunch poolside, wasn t a guest of the hotel but the experience was so positive would consider staying here next time I return to Calgary. The staff, in particular Michael, were extremely friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, serving a reinvented dish under a seemingly familiar heading.

Terrible service. Staff are rude, unhelpful. Refused to give me a replacement key to my room when I lost my key. Dinner in "RAW" service was worse!!!! Server forgot to put our main course order in, we waited TWO HOURS!!! for our main course. Manager came over Comp'd our meal but was quite rude and unapologetic. We had to cancel our plans that night, manager said "We Comp'd your meal not sure what else you want me to do", he refused to apologize! I didn't care about the free meal I just would have been happy with a "we are very sorry about this". But no! When we went to our room after checking in someone had "used" the toilet and didn't flush it...disgusting!! We didn't even bother to tell the staff about that because they just argued everything and we wanted to avoid the stress.

I've attended several events here (Halloween parties, business receptions, parties) and it's always been an excellent venue. The food is outstanding and the service is great. It is located outside of the downtown area, but the advantage of this is that parking is much easier and cheaper.

Neat atmosphere. Was there for a event. Food was great. Lounge had great service. Bartender noticed 2 of my beers were "skunk" and replaced them without handing them over.

Great location and staff. Clean standard rooms. Highly recommended.

I don't know how Hotel Arts didn't get a 5 star all around. GORGEOUS PLACE. The staff were all extremely friendly and genuine. The room we wanted was unavailable (I think there was a mix up when we booked online) and when we got there we had been upgraded for free to a luxury suite! Couldn't have been happier. The beds were so amazingly comfortable we did not want to leave. Just absolutely the best stay I've ever had.

Location is with a few minutes walk from Calgary Tower and the lively 8 Ave. Rooms are clean, modern and very quiet. Great for light sleepers such as myself. Good view of the city and Calgary Tower from my 9th floor room.

Attended for an event, was a beautiful hotel, the staff was very attentive, the food was delicious.

I will no longer be supporting this business that allows their staff to racially discriminate against their paying guests. Your company non-apology was laughable, take accountability for the actions of your team!

Rooms are nice and clean, great staff with great service. Prices were ok for downtown. Just avoid the delivered breakfast in the morning... Definitely not worth it.

Beautiful property and great location. Everyone was super friendly. They gave me a surprise upgrade to my room. Extremely quiet, heated underground parking, great restaurants. Outdoor pool is closed I the winter. Sad I was only there one night.

Drinks at the pool was so much fun! I can't believe I have not done this before. Plus the food in the service were great. I'm definitely going to be spending more summer days here. Thanks Hotel Arts will be back soon!

Excellent seminar or large group venue. Great catering for large groups with vegetarian options. Clean, quiet and professional.

Excellent hotel - very clean, beautiful appearance and great rooms. Love the finishes. Also a great location downtown, walking distance to the Saddledome. Have always had great experiences staying here.

Went to Hotel Arts for a wedding and stayed the night. Beautiful venue for a wedding. The room was nice. Only complaint is that the water temperature and pressure were inconsistent making showering a bit difficult. Scalding hot or freezing cold water at times. Rooms were clean and beds comfy.

Hotel Arts provided a great experience for us in Calgary. They accomodated for our late arrival (due to our delayed flight), greeted us kindly and were beyond helpful finding us the right room. Amazing location with great food not more than a few steps away; the restaurant here is as good as it gets! Rooms were nice but nothing spectacular. Clean and comfy so that s what matters. Pool is well designed and the hotel as a whole has a unique feel to it. Would return in a heartbeat both to Calgary and this hotel.
