We're here for the next while due to Covid 19, everyone is super friendly.
The en-suite sites are great, bathroom and site are spacious and clean.
The communal bathrooms could do with an update but are clean and all working.
There are two pools and a playground for kids, plenty of washing machines and space for hanging your laundry. A short walk to Stocklands mall, Aldi (doesn't have alcohol) Woolies, Coles, liquorland and BWS. Lots of little shops but most are closed at the moment due to Covid.
Really like the place and would come back with pleasure.

Travelling from Canberra, we stayed over the Easter break in 2019 at the unpowered sites right near the cafe and pool and enjoyed everything!

The lady operating the cafe was very lovey and generous and made sure we were all good each night before she would close up the shop.

It was great getting out of bed and grabbing a coffee first thing in the morning.

The energy and vibe of the resort was amazing, so much life!

Forgot to give a review last year but we re looking to book again soon!!

Cabins are in much need of a reno. The moment you open the cabin door u smell a stale smell . Peg stuffed in the vent leaver to hold it up. Stockings on the fan blades is never a good look. Bathroom has no locks on the doors and there were 2 doors leading into it. No towels provided Was told the queen bed had linen and only had to byo for the kids beds which they didnt. I had to pay $15 for a queen sheet and 2 towels.
Witnessed a domesic fight between the cleaning team in the next cabin telling each other to basically get 'f#&ked!!!! Lovely during school holidays
The 2 pools were nice thou .
Doubt i would return

Had a 1 night camping get away with the kids. Clean toilets mrs informed me ... not a long drop with water available and showers pool etc back in main park.. 3 klms from the island..campfires entertained the kids with marshmellows after dark. $40 for unpowered sites a bit high for 1 night tho. If it was cheaper we would do a longer stay another time.
2hr drive from maitland nsw.

Lovely, relaxing & clean park with friendly staff and good amenities. The pools are cleaned daily and are a delight to use. To be woken by the sounds of chirping birds who flock to the many grand trees towering throughout the park is a delight. The one and only drawback are the mosquitoes (depending on weather) as the nearer you get to the water the worse they are. However, even taking that into account, we would definitely choose to stay here above all the other parks in the Forster/Tuncurry area.

Dreadful attitude towards humanity. They would not let my 90 year old blind grandmother be driven to the BBQ area. They made her walk down along with my grandfather using his walking frame. Would have been so easy to let them through the gate but apparently too hard to give them a temp number to get through the gate. Will never go back.

My family and I have been coming here for years to camp on 'The Island'. I generally go during off-peak season and have on several occasions had the entire place (almost) to myself.

The location is amazing, with some of the best sunsets you will see. Also a great place to stargaze, as there is very little light pollution.

You can set up a fire and there is always a pile of wood for fuel.

The amenities, whilst not luxurious or modern, are adequate.

Plenty of shady camping areas available.

It can get a bit noisy during holidays, and that isn't policed well at all, but it is what it is.

Needs a complete makeover. Cabins are outdated, beds could feel the springs, lounges were well worn, grubby and no support. Ceiling fans had nylon stockings on the blades for dust purposes, they had perished. All areas in the cottage need a good dose of bleach. Was certainly not a Spa Retreat as advertised.
All internal roads are full of pot holes.

We stayed here for 4 nights. 2 problems

We stayed here for 4 nights. 2 problems

1) We couldn't have a fire where we were. I even called before we arrived and was told that we could. But when we arrived there was a sign saying no open fires in the park. I went and ask at the office and was told we were given the wrong information and fires are only allowed in bush camping area. The food we brought with us was to be cooked on the fire because that's part of camping. We had to go into town and buy cooking equipment and other food so we could still eat. I don't know why you have camp sites where you cannot have a fire

2) The first two nights were good but the third night people stay next to us. 2 mornings in a row they woke us up at 5am because they were yelling to each other in their tent with no consideration for anyone around them. It also sounded like there was a goat in their tent at times. They also had a puppy that they were dragging around against it's will. A lot of people do not know or don't care about camping etiquette and they spoil it for everyone around them.

Quite a scenic holiday place for families. You can book cabins or camping spots. We went for Tent Camping it's a delight waking up by the water in the morning, but watch out for the mozzies and flies at night. The soil is very soft and sandy, so peg your tents some extra on windy days. There is no water tap in the camping area, you have to go the common kitchen for water. The local woolies/shops are 2 minutes drive from this place, which is very convenient.

There are two pools for adults and kids, and a playground for kids.. do expect them to be very busy during weekends. We camped right next to Sarah and Gary's coffee truck and they are such lovely warm couple to meet each morning. Five stars for them both

The camp kitchen has a fridge, microwave and kettle, but your food may get stolen from the fridge. There are always some kids hanging out in that area and we heard they stole and ate the chocolates we kept in the fridge for my husband's birthday surprise we also met someone who lost their iPhone charger from the kitchen power outlet.

I wish the camping spots were a bit spacious and apart from each other, it felts very congested for THAT HIGH PRICE. And also if there were more toilet/shower cubes. There was only one toilet and one shower for the pool-goers and the campers, and most times we had to queue up to use each. And the codes to open the entry/exit gate Almost Never work

worst experience ever with management, he is a very selfish maintenance guy, hired a cabin, invited a visitor, gave him the gate code, wouldn't let me get in anymore, maintenance guy noticed my car was outside and just ignored me and made me leave my car outside the gate, had my spot lights stolen. Another incident with him on New Years Eve 12.30am i was had a very small blue tooth radio on low, told me not to turn it down but to turn it completely off even though there was other parties going on around the park, never ever will i go here again, and i suggest the same with you guys unless you want to be approached by very rude maintenance man, you can do better at other places in Forster NSW

I paid $164 for a cottage with no bathroom and I had to pay another $44 for a cabin with bathroom.so costed me $210 for 2 days. Well nothing more ..nothing less..dont expect anything..its just a cabin with basic facilities..we were quoted $15 for a pair of linen and when we came inside the cottage ..the kitchen jug was kept near to the toilet...to conclude..its a place to camp..less expensive but cabins are expensive with not much ..but places around are good to go arnd

Nice place, dog friendly and the bush camping on Tonys Point Island has got to be the cheapest option in Forster. Mosquitos were a pest but inevitable near the water with the weather they've been having. Mosquito nets, candles and repellant are a must. Cheerful clean bathrooms. And looks like there is some improvements going on about the place too.

We've been coming bush camping here for many years and love the position away from the rush of life. The owners are terrific and have everything you need. Only thing we are noticing more each visit is a growing trend with a certain culture that have made this spot their own now by blocking and closing the amenities toilet while their family members wash in the sink. They then leave it in a disgraceful mess throughout the amenities, meaning people have to then drive back to the park to use the toilets. This was a topic of discussion from many regular campers how it has changed and felt like you were pushed out. We know these amenities are cleaned daily, though cannot keep up the cleanliness with the amount of people using it this way.

We camped out in the bushland camping area. Pros: There s so much room, lots of space between you and other campers and a beautiful outlook. The bathrooms are clean and tidy. And the dogs had the BEST time. It s super chill you could be in the middle of the Bush, but it s own 5 mins drive to the supermarket or bottle-o! ;)
Cons: SO SO many mosquitos. Got eaten alive. Also you have to drive back into the campsite for showers. The water is NOT drinkable which we found out the hard way! It s a little pricey at $22 per person for unpowered and no nearby showers.

Dreadful place. Dirty neglected dated and unpleasant. Poor toilets and camp kitchen. Over priced for a very basic camp site. So called cafe was pathetic and amenties were inadequate. A very unpleasant time at this delapadated run down dirty place. Avoid.

Compared to other holiday parks in the area it never lived up to the hype. Powered site was dirt apart from the slab , both pools were closed , kids playground was ordinary and untidy, camp kitchen is ordinary and the bbq area near pool the light did not work .
Was told rubbish is collected daily and ours was not collected once.
Awsome location and very pet friendly but the park needs to be managed a little better

The main part of the camp ground is good and well ...

The main part of the camp ground is good and well laid out. There are lots of un-powered camping sites on the big island but the big let down is the lack of sufficient toilet and shower facilities at the bush island camping ground. For the bush camping fees charged better facilities are needed.

Provide at least two decent toilet and shower blocks on the island and it would be worth 4 stars.

We had a great experience at Lanis Caravan Park. We stayed at the Oleander lodge where dogs are allowed. It was rainy but the lodge was nice and warm, not luxurious but it was just perfect! The staff were so nice, we got there after hours they left everything organized, also is a really pretty location! I totally recommend.

Lovely hideaway caravan/camping ground slightly off the Princess Highway. Close to shopping center, well appointed clean cabin next to waters edge, good service and reasonably priced, would definitely go back. Oh and it's pet friendly, that's a plus
