Had my parents come in from Beverly Hills. Saturday evening - while unloading them IN THE CITY OF CALGARY UNLOADING zone, in a ghost town, a RUDE "bellman" demanded i move my vehicle - excuse me i am guest i am unloading. Very Unprofessional. DIDNt offer to help.

They than try to up-sell everything to us - good grief their wifi was 15/day but we had a westnet city wifi account @ 9/month so they just used that and the funny thing is westnet had better wifi coverage in the hotel than their wifi.

This is an excellent pet friendly hotel. My wife and I stayed here at the end of February 2020. Very fun vibe, lots of cool decor throughout the room and building . They understand customer service. We had some concerns with how house keeping cleaned our room (they didn t throw out an empty pizza box, breakfast containers and didn t vacuum our room. We were travelling with three dogs and hair was starting to build up, a vacuum would ve been nice as we payed $30.00 extra per night). I talked to the front desk about this and they quickly reimbursed the extra $30.00 and the parking. Very happy! I have stayed here before and will continue to do so, next time. If they didn t accommodate me I would ve stayed somewhere else. So not only do they know how to create a cool hotel they know how to keep people coming back!

Restaurant / Poolside: Very unimpressed with my experience. I called ahead and was told there s a little bit of a wait but that I had to come in person to add my name to the waiting list. I drove half an hour to put my name on the list in person. Once I put my name on the list with the hostess (1pm), she told me a 3 hour wait and that they d call when my table is ready. As I was there, a group of people were wanting to hold a large group area and they d have visiting guests joining them throughout the day. (The website says the pool times are scheduled in two hour time blocks.) I went home. 3 hours went by. 6 hours went by. No one called me. It s completely unfair and absolutely rude!

We were in town for a concert at the Saddledome. We were given a free upgrade at check in. A very nice suite room over looking the pool. The hotel is a nice short walk to the stampede grounds. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. Our room was hot when we got back but the AC cooled it down surprisingly fast. We treated ourselves to breakfast in bed and the room service arrived nice and warm.

Great stay

My experience with Hotel Arts was extremely disapp...

My experience with Hotel Arts was extremely disappointing to say the least. My girlfriends booked me a surprise staycation here to celebrate graduating university and my birthday. They booked the most luxurious suite that the hotel offers and despite spending good money on this local business, were met with nothing but absolute disrespect from the front desk and management team.

There were several (3) interactions with the staff that were extremely rude and uncalled for.

The 1st one took place with the front desk rep on the first night that we were there. My friend that had booked the room went down to talk to the front desk just after 12am in hopes of potentially booking another night and extending our stay. She also wanted to book a time slot for the pool the next day. She was told that the pool was completely booked from 11-7pm, had been booked up a week in advance and that there was nothing she could do about it.

My friend was obviously confused and upset as no one had mentioned anything about booking a time slot for the pool a week in advance, especially because having booked a VIP suite she was expecting to have been told upon booking and/or when checking in about the pool situation. The front desk rep responded by saying, "if you are unhappy you can pack your bags and I'll check you out right now,".
Again this was shortly after 12am.... Instead of arguing further, she decided she was going to call the manager in the morning.

The next morning at 8 am she calls the manager, Dana, I believe is his name. My friend explains her experience with the front desk rep from the night before to which he responded "She's english second language, from eastern Europe. she's cold and a bit slower. That's just her".

That was this managers explanation for his employees rude behaviour. He proceeded to offer us vouchers for breakfast.

We head down to the pool rather early, we wanted to get a bit of a poolside workout in as the fitness centre was closed. A server that was setting up at the time told us that we were free to stay till 11 but that she was all booked up and where we were, people were coming for 11 + the bookings last 3 hours. We asked if they no-show, are we good to stay and she said yes. 10:45 comes around and we're told, "you might want to start packing up your things" to which we responded "yeah we will, we're just going to wait a bit". 11:00 comes and no one shows up. 11:15 comes still no one. 11:30 still no one. We're in the clear. Or so we think. We get into the pool to enjoy the water, and aren't in there for 10 minutes before a manger comes over to us, points at the friend that booked the room and motions for her to come over.

2nd interaction:
He (Dana according to name tag) asks her if it's possible for us to check out early. That the guests staying in the suite after us, want to check in early and that they were celebrating an anniversary.
We had paid for a late check out AND the day before my friends had also tried to check in early to get the suite 'surprise ready' and were told "we don't do early check-ins. It's against company policy"...
My friend responds by saying that we didn't feel comfortable leaving early because we too were celebrating something this weekend, my graduation and birthday. We leave the pool after this interaction and head back to the spot where we were at.

3rd interaction:
Around 11:45 another manager (not wearing a visible tag) comes over and state there is a group booked and arriving for 12pm. Which didn't make sense as bookings are 3 hours long. We questioned him
he couldn't give us a direct answer but said we were more than welcome to sit at an adjacent table in the corner when they did show up. Worth mentioning the pool was very dead at this point. Maybe 5/25 tables were filled. And they were supposedly "booked 11-7".

Management is subpar and evidently lack the understanding of good hospitality. Go spend your money at the Fairmont Palliser or Nordic Spa if you're ISO a luxury staycation.

Went here for a large group event. The venue worked great for approximately 200 people. The highlight was the tapas servered before dinner. The whole event ran very smooth both in terms of service and organization.

Attended an after work, lifelong learning session in one of the meeting rooms. Excellent service and a well-presented, intestinal, and well-executed 4-course meal, including salad, soup, beef tenderloin steaks and cheescake for dessert. Attentive service at the table and the bar. It was a good set up for about 60 attendees.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Arts. The location is wonderful and the lobby is gorgeous. The room (which they told us was an upgrade) was basic. The shower was tiny and shampoo/soap/conditioner supplies were all low or empty. We would stay there again on a bargain.

Terrible hotel. Service was all right, though the hotel charged me and my husband almost $50 for just three bottles of water, popcorn and chips. On the menu, it said the popcorn was $3.00, but when we bought it, the waiter charged us $6!
But that's not the worst of it.
We left the hotel at 2 o'clock, and at 7:00 my husband realized that he forgot his wallet in the safe. We called the hotel and the manager said that he couldn't go into the room, because it was occupied. This drove me mad. A housekeeper is allowed into the room, but the manager isn't? What a lie. He also said that it is "against the rules" to go into a room while it is occupied. It is also "against the rules" not to check the room for anything before letting someone else occupy it!
When I told him this, he said that the housekeeper was supposed to check everything. I told him that if that was true, they would have found the wallet. He then said that the housekeeper might have "overlooked" this. I argued some more, and finally, he lied to my face and said that the person who occupied the room me, my husband and two daughters were in was "right there." Suspicious. He can remember everyone in the hotel and what room they're in, but can't ask who has room 904. After what seemed like an hour, he said that he'd found the wallet. We drove to the hotel and thankfully he was right.
Though we found the wallet, we were never going to go to that hotel EVER AGAIN, and I advise you to do the same.

Everything had a white dust. Which I thought was odd and it stuck to all our clothes. The soap wasn't full so we ran out first day of our stay.
You have to pay for your own parking in THEIR lot even when you are a guest.
