Had amazing friends of ours book a room for us for our honeymoon when we arrived they wanted us to pay! claimed that the proper forms where not filled out so we called our friends and they had called 3 separate times to make sure everything was going to go smooth and was told each time all the right stuff has been filled out and they will charge them. nope after wait over half an hour to get things resolved i get a phone call saying that my friends have been calling the phone and no one is answering at the front desk so we finally got someone to answer and got the room situation fixed. the next issue we had was no one told us the checkout time so we where very lucky to have it extended to 12. Absolute Terrible experience especially to end such an amazing day( our wedding)! would never recommend this place you'd get better customer service at a Holiday Inn!
The Yellow Door Bistro was OUTSTANDING! The food presentation was amazing, service exceptional, and prices affortable. We had the BEST meal, leisurely and not rushed. A true culinary delight!
The hotel itself was nice. We were disappointed there was no business center, but the front desk staff happily printed our boarding passes for us!
A++ guys!!(and gals!)
Service was great! The room was excellent. No complaints.
Very clean rooms and excellent staff. Checkin was a breeze and lots of parking options.
Great boutique hotel just outside downtown. Modern rooms and friendly service.
Rawbar for a few cocktails. Great drinks and timely service
Room was a little small and although we requested a fridge well in advance it was not provided in the room. Nice liking, service was good.
Went for dinner at Raw Bar with my husband, his brother and sister and our children. Outstanding food and service.
The entire experience blew us away. Started in their Yellow Door restaurant for a dinner after driving back from Lake Louise.
My wife walked in and the Maitre DE who looked like a character in a local play could not have been more gracious & accommodating.
Our server Adrian guided us through outstanding menu selections.
Service was over the top incredible.
Has to be in the top 1% of any restaurant in this Province.
And for all the uppity snobishness around Vancouver dining establishments, eat your heart out over Calgary's Yellow Door.
Our son JR Hogan gave us a complementary evening at your hotel last week. The staff are so friendly and very professional. The room was absolutely wonderful and will highly recommend the location to our friends travelling to Calgary. The Raw Bar has a great menu. Many thanks for a lovely stay.
What a horrible experience I ve never been treated so rudely in my entire life especially by people in hospitality. The way the hotel staff talked to me with such attitude and disrespect was uncalled for. I felt racially profiled and wasn t treated fairly. The way they talked down to me was unbelievable. The people at the hotel would lie to me about the pool, first they said just come down then was told to go find something else to do and that I had to book a room in order to even get at the pool just so the hotel can get money from me and then charge me for two rooms. I ve sent two emails regarding my stay and no one has replied to make amends or even apologize. Would definitely not recommend this place. The rooms are very small for the price.
Food at our corporate event was good. Better than I expected.
Hotel Arts is well priced for it's convenient downtown location. The rooms are a fair size and are clean and in good upkeep.
The bed was a good size (king) but was a bit too soft in the "this mattress is old" way rather than it just being a soft mattress.
My one complaint is that there is no fridge in the room. I like to bring my own food when I travel and it's very inconvenient not to have a mini fridge. There's more than enough space to put one in the room so it's confusing to me that there isn't.
The staff were very friendly and efficient and the gym is well equipped (I'd like it if the dumbbells went to higher weights but for a hotel they're pretty.
Used their conference room for a work meetup. Decent spread and delicious lunch options all around.
We recently held our wedding at Hotel Arts in the summer and were so happy with everything. Brian was an absolute gem to work with from beginning to end. He was super knowledgeable and helpful during the entire process and nothing was impossible. The staff at Hotel Arts was absolutely great and professional. The service leading up to the wedding to the day of was wonderful. From the valet staff, to front desk, catering, to housekeeping, they were so quick to respond to any of our requests. I would highly recommend Hotel Arts for anyone who is planning to host their wedding locally in Calgary. The food was also wonderful from cocktails, to entree, dessert, and midnight snack. The service during our wedding reception was also wonderful as guests felt like they were dining in a restaurant. Thank you Hotel Arts for all your help in making our Wedding Day so memorable.
High quality hotel with nice style and finishes. Good bathroom and excellent services. Balcony with nice view plus no smoking on balconies! Good room service for breakfast. On time and hot.
Very nice hotel. Facility looks new and style is good.
Excellent hotel! Very nice comfortable rooms with balcony. Friendly staff. Convenient location.
Such a great vibe... Had a great time. Valet is a must!
Really nice hotel. Rooms have little to no street noise. Super friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are more 'inspired' than your traditional Hotel room
The pool is awesome, you can get served from "RawBar" restaurant!
I love hotel arts. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfy and the showers are warm and high pressure. The staff are friendly. Great experience. One of my most favourite hotels.
I didn't spend much time at the hotel, really only saw the lobby and one of the conference rooms that our event was held in. Staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was clean, and new looking. Felt like a comfortable and welcoming place.
Don't stay here! Save your money and hit a Holiday Inn instead.
Guests are charged for underground parking, something I've never had happen at any other hotel.
Want wireless internet in your room? $10.45 PER DAY.
Breakfast was $50 for two meals and some coffee, it was cold, they cooked our eggs wrong and brought ham instead of bacon. This from the apparently respectable Yellow Door restaurant.
Want to sleep before 3:00AM? Too bad, unless you like the sound of doors slamming all night from people returning from the bar. This place isn't quiet at all.
No fridge, no microwave, no fan in the bathroom...I've stayed in work camps up north with more amenities than this hotel.
Absolute joke. Avoid this place at all costs.
Very disappointed lately. This hotel used to be so much better
Night staff were a bit ditsy and didn't know anything when asked. Beds were ok comfy. The hotel rooms felt a little creepy and had a dark atmosphere. The hotel had many corporate events, but it would not be a place I would stay at again.
Delicious food at the yellow door for brunch! Excellent service and good variety
Good location, and signage was plenty so that I was able to find where the social event was located.
The water takes forever to turn hot. The tv has a slow reaction time and takes a while to change to the next channel. No mini fridge included in a luxury room but you could ask for one free of charge. There a a loud ongoing mechanical room kinda sound. Carpets don't look clean.
Pros: bathrooms look modern and clean. Service is friendly and helpful, they provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion from skoah, which is better than the average complimentary toiletries. Outdoor swimming pool is pretty.
The first place I stayed upon my arrival in Calgary! Wonderful hotel that really lets you feel the vibrance of the city. Parking is available at a cost.
Avenue Magazines delivered to the hotel for October edition.
If I could give a 0 star rating I would, Terrible experience! I was visiting Calgary on business and my partner booked me a room at Hotel Arts. After a long day I went to check into my room that was already booked online with my partners credit card. Upon arriving I proceeded to park my vehicle in the hotels parkade when the parkade door closed on my vehicle bumper, last I checked these doors should have functioning sensors to indicate if there is an obstruction in the way like a vehicle or even a child for that matter which obviously that was not the case. After informing the hotel staff of this incident not only were they incompetant in dealing with the situation, but they also would not let me stay in the hotel being that I didn't have my partners credit card on my person.. as a result I had to drive home to Edmonton in the middle of the night arriving at 3am with a damaged vehicle. After a month of trying to work with the hotel managers on repairing my vehicle, in which time they tried to bully me into signing a release form in order to get a cheque for a basic estimate on fixing my vehicle and having to chase them and leave numerous voicemails and emails I am now forced to open a claim and have my insurance pursue the matter. Disgraceful integrity from these people to say the least!
Decent price, perfect location. Balcony was great and the frond desk staff were super helpful. Perfect place to stay in Calgary... Will definitely be staying again.
Excellent facility and staff for business functions and small conferences.
Always amazing. I visit every year and everyone always better than expectations
A beautiful hotel with wonderful staff! Gorgeous and interesting art all around the reception rooms and the front entry. Huge rooms with gigantic modern bathrooms!
Great option for a staycation in the city! Clean room, excellent amenities, and accommodating staff.
Excellent service. Very nice venue with a refreshing styling and excellent food. Fireplace in the lobby is very neat. Theres always something neat hidden around the hotel.
We stayed at Hotel Arts for two days and were fairly disappointed with the whole experience.
We had a very basic room on the second floor which had many dings and defects in the decor. Our shower ran incredibly hot and no amount of fiddling with with temperature would adjust the water. The air conditioning in our room was incredibly loud and incredibly ineffective. The thermostat was set to 19, yet the room wouldn't drop below 27. It was 32 outside both days we were there so it felt way too warm in the room. We also had a very rowdy room next to us that had their music turned up for most of the night and were often heard coming in and out of the hallway yelling and screaming. We made a noise complaint and the front desk staff were quick to quiet that room down. The second night we were there they were also loud, but no loud music playing or yelling in the hallways.
Aside from those downsides, the staff were all very nice and we enjoyed the location of this hotel. I don't think we will be back though.
Great location, very clean, good restaurants and pubs in area
Beautiful Hotel! Would stay again next time we visit Calgary!
Very nice hotel, located near shos and restaurants.
We had a convention in this hotel. Love the small fire place near the pool and the bar.
Incredible location we based out Ingress Trip out of. Staff were extremely professional and accommodating.
It is a nice hotel with very friendly staff. The room was well kept and nicely designed. It offered some great dining and drinking options that were either attached to the hotel or in very close proximity.
The vendor fair was insanely cold. Let's turn on the heat next time.
Nice place for professional seminars. Location is perfect. 10 min walk from CTrain. Meal is also good here.
Amazing food great setting. Held events here and was very classy and presented very well
Great hotel with a boutique feel. Would stay here again
Pool is the place to be, I'm pretty sure the sun is hotter in the pool area. But drinks out there are outrageously priced. Lose yourself in the rays, not the overpriced liquor.
one of the best hotels in Calagary felt really comfortable...the bed was soft..the bathroom was clean and elegant..the staff were friendly ...the location was great near the city center
Unimpressed with the 1Mb free internet for paying customers. They want $10 a day for faster speeds. The elevator makes you use your card to work, but never works on 1st or 2nd attempt.
Over $20 for parking per day. Only in Calgary is this acceptable.
I can't recommend this hotel. Its nice to look at though.
Great place for events. Excellent catering. Professional and friendly staff. Easy to access, lots of parking.
Easy to get to, affordable rates but the walls are paper thin. Don't come here if you expect to sleep!
The hotel is clean, fairly modern with friendly and helpful staff.
Decent place to stay besides the fact that they werent ready to accept my forex card that is accepted all round the globe for deposit. As long as you have a credit card with your name on it, you are good to go.
Fun place. Should be allowed to stay more than two hours if your spending money. Sigh
Beauty of a hotel!!! The great service started right from the door man all the way to the room. Fantastic place!!!
Nice atmosphere and staff but the food was a little bland.
Enjoyed oysters and wine in the lounge. Service was good and quick. Plan to return and try out the pool another day.
