What an absolute joke of an emergency room. Unfortunately I was referred to this ER after going to the urgent care and due to being pregnant they needed to send me here. They basically leave you abandoned in the room and can t even do their jobs right and make you wait longer. The ONLY people who were awesome was the X-ray tech gal, the gal who put me on the nebulizer, and the ultrasound guy. The PA? Joke. Maybe she and the rest of the nurses could learn to communicate about getting tests done when they should be done (seriously my urine sample sat on the On top of that I am now bordering dehydration because of them. This ER seriously needs not only more people but an organized method to their chaos. I ve had ER visits before at other hospitals and they ve been WAY more efficient, friendlier and positive. Been here now almost 6 hours and I m glad I have an appointment at my Ob tomorrow anyways to get a second opinion. Should have gone with my gut and gone home after checking in. Highly looking at other places to give birth because if this is how they treat their ER I fear how they treat parents giving birth.

Our son was born September 17th 2020 at 1148 pm. the delivery was great ... after that is when the peace of mind and utter trauma begins. the staff treats you like a dictatorship.. the charge nurse was simply the worst. I really dont understand how this staff is licensed. this is just not the environment to birth a child. end of story!

It isn't rocket science to know that if you have so many patients scheduled for surgery that will result in a stay at the hospital. That you should have that many beds/rooms available for those patients. Rather than having the patient and the family wait in surgery waiting for over 4 hours to find a room. Just a thought.

Worst experience of my life. They basically kicked me out and said to deal with it myself. C unit is uncompassionate and cold. GI & PCP didn't have the balls to talk to me.
This does not qualify as health care!

A friend and family member was admitted and was told they could not do a rapid test for Covid19 because they were out of them. So..whoever's job this is to order vital supplies should answer for this. How many people continue to be exposed because without a positive test..no precautionary measures are taken? Family members proceed with their lives as if the patient doesn't have the virus...when really, no test was available. I find this unacceptable...and yet...there is nothing that can be done.

This place has been a total nightmare. Not sure what's going on her but I have been here for 9 days. Not sure where to turn. My body is hurting so badly but it seems to fall on dealth ears. I come here from Virginia and it seems they must havw different regulations here. It I am sure it's a tough spot for them but it does not help my immediate problem.I suffer everyday with not much help. I am still in the hospital

Outpatient surgery waiting room. They provide up to the date information on surgery status and they have a screen that helps you track what stage the patient is in where pre-op, recovery, etc. Waiting room has a vending area for snacks and offers free coffee and water.

My mother has several syncope episodes in a row ...

My mother has several syncope episodes in a row at the Alf she is living in. An ambulance was called and she was taken to Holmes regional. This was approx. 10:00 an 4/22/16. my sister in law ( her daughter ) was told she would have to be admitted. No diagnosis given , however the standard tests were taken, chest x ray lab work, ekg monitoring urin . My sister in law noticed her blood pressure was " low "and was told she had a " low grade fever . When my husband brother in law and I got there at approx. 8 pm Friday. ( coming from Delray Beach fl ) No clear diagnosis and No physician had shown up yet. An iv was just being administerd for dehydration at that time , this was assumed . Because of my mother in law's memory issue my brother in law spent the night with her. at 2am, 4 am and 6 am they came in and drew labs. at 7 am they came in and did anther chest x ray ? why when this was done in the er, no one had a clear answer. Its in the orders ? who gave the orders ? Still no physician. by 11 am Saturday 4/23 . to make a very long and grueling story shorter, we complained as gently as we could to the on floor nurse ( who's fault this was Not ) about No doctor , and no clear diagnosis and Gee if the Dr written on the room board was unable to dhow up then we want another Dr. well the physician who was reported to be at the other end of the hospital all day showed up at about 10 min to 3:00pm . said he needed to review her case?? and would be back to tell us what needed to be done. the bottom line at 330 we found out she has a very mild case of pneumonia, some water in her lungs as well . they would put her on medication and she would be ok to return to the ALF memory unit . We got her home by 830 that night, medication in hand. We provided transportation. otherwise she would probably have has to wait a few or hours more before being taken home
1. why did er not coordinate with 6th floor or on call physician.
2. why were we told Dr is coming "he is at the other end of of the hospital " Multiple times, and we did not get any action until we really started complaining, and then finally asked for another Dr.
3. My Mother in law did not even get a Tylenol for her fever.
4. Lack of communication with a sick persons family is critical in caring for them.
What would have happened if she did not have any family to sit with her and complain for her?
I am disgusted at the treatment ( or better lack of ) she received by the Dr. on call for that floor
This hospitals communication skills Must be improved in order for patients and families to understand what is happening and coordinate care for their loved ones.
as a end note.
the on floor nurses and cna's were kind, attentive, did understand, did try to help. somehow I feel they were snubbed as well
Yours truly

I was admitted for a total knee replacement. All of the nursing staff and aids were all s attentive and pleasant to be around. Knowing the patient is not allowed personal contact with friends and family they assure you are as comfortable as possible, always asking if there is anything they can get me. Although I wanting to eat much, what I did eat tasted amazing. Their mashed potatoes and fish tastes like it came from an A1 restaurant. Good Job Everyone!!!!

My daughter was admitted to the emergency department early Saturday morning for severe left-sided abdominal pain. Of course when we walked in her pain had subsided, but we re still treated very well by the PA and the RN that took good care of her. We were just about to be discharged after some lab work when my daughters pain went from a 4 to a 10 out of 10. There was a specific RN named Jamie who is so amazing, I can t thank her enough for all the help she gave my daughter. Jamie was patient, kind, funny,And an amazing nurse! Even with my daughters pain was a 10 out of 10 Jamie managed to make her laugh and smile which was an incredible feat to do to say the least.

Although everyone at this hospital was wonderful we just want to thank Jamie for all her care and to also thank the entire emergency department, I would recommend this hospital to anyone who needed to go there

Recently visited a family member for 3 days. During that time the floor in her room was never mopped. It was sticky when you walked on it. Also the restroom in the waiting room on the 4th floor had feces on the underside of the seat 2 days in a row. As for clearness this hospital fails!

To whom it may concern.

To whom it may concern.
I had one of the craziest experience of my life time. I had a surgery in an outpatient surgery center for my knee I woke up from my anesthesia and felt paralyzed from my lower extremities. I was then rushed to Health First's Holmes Regional Medical hospital where I did not
know my own faith due to the fact that everybody around me was very nervous. I get to the hospital there's paperwork on the. procedure on my knee and just came out of the operating room.. one hour past and hospital was under the impression they did surgery on my back . So they decide to send me for X-rays of my face( y I don't know) leave me in the dirty bloody hospital room for 4 hours. I then complain to Nick my nurse with an attitude tells us! it's going to be about 6 hours. so then I ask nick for pain medicine because they had given me Tylenol when I first got to the hospital. So he smiles and tells me I got the good stuff you're going to like this I like it and gives me (Fentanyl) . I then I then asked why he gave me (heroine fentanyl) tells me that's the only thing they can give you. As I see him put two needles in the needle box and one in the side pocket. I then tell Nick that I would like to speak to the director or manager because I want to sign myself out and or get transferred to another hospital. He then brings in #Julienewhouse which if that hospital had more Staffing of her caliber. your ratings will be 5.0. She herself within 5 minutes got me in the MRI room. she had my room that was Bloody cleaned up while I was
In the MRI. With erin o'Brien MRI Rn.. if you guys had Staffing that was older more mature and worried about their patients future. instead of just having a job for a title you guys will be okay. As I went to go smoke a cigarette because I have not had a cigarette or food since 7 PM and 9am the day before I was stopped by a nurse and ask if would like wheelchair ride to go outside. one of Nick's nurse friend stops me and says where you think you're going I say I'm going to have a cigarette! she told me I cannot!!!! now at this point I feel like I'm being kidnapped... I can't sign myself out. I cannot leave, I can't transfer myself out the hospital from hell. I was at the hospital 81/2 hours.. and got no results not even the paperwork or the video. I had a specialist in Viera that was willing to see the results and they told me it was going to take 4 hours an hour after the MRI.smh. I still had a 2-hour ride home.. the shuttle driver that wanted to leave me in the hospital.... I had no other choice but to leave. I am very appalled at the hospital's condition. You get better service at a walk-in clinic. pictures and videos coming up on Facebook and all social media.

Well I'm a health care professional of 20 years as well as a staff educator in the operating room. I was suffering from a spinal head ache after a milogram. After 3 days I went to the emergency room. I was on iv fluids and kept comfortable. at 3:45 am I was told anesthesia could not do the needed blood patch. Just for the heck of it I called anesthesia. I was told they were not busy, but didn't want to do the blood patch just in case something big came in. A blood patch takes all of 2 minutes. 1 star would be to high of a rating for DR Sandra Stevens of anesthesia. I would rather pass 5 kidney stones, than have a spinal head ache. A 2 minute procedure could have provided my instant relief.

Had to go for routine urine testing due to a workers comp claim and the nurse treated me like a criminal! She was curt, rude and had such a bad attitude toward me I was extremely upset. I am the one who got injured, and these people must think that all comp claims are fake. Why would the hospital tolerate their employees treating patients and clients this way?

EVERYONE in the radiology area was fantastic. The anesthesia guys went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable before they took my toddler back for his mri and all of the nurses and techs treated us extremely well. Never had such great care before in a hospital.

My mother had surgery on her hip after she fell and broke it. Her prosthetic is metal. The doctor took her in earlier than the time that was scheduled. We did not get to see her before she went in. She is 93 now this was 4 and a half years ago. We were all worried she might not survive. The Dr. came to speak with my brother and I he started ranting at my brother who lived with her that she was morbidly obese. She weighs 200 pounds and is 5'6" that is heavy but not terribly so. He did a crappy repair and she hasn't walked since. The prosthetic and the hip are not even connected. No wonder he carried on like he did he was not qualified to get the job done. She is now in Tennessee where she doesn't have to deal with a Doctor with no bedside manner who could be so inconsiderate at such a stressful time. Doing an inadequate repair and being pathetic jerk. He bicycles and has a lot of pride on himself, attractive on the outside does not equal attractive inside.

I work at a medical equipment store. Frequently we see people come in that have recently had colostomies, illiostomies, and urostomies. These
people had not been told what size, brand, and
reference number to ask for. They are clueless.
Their doctor or nurse have let them down! Mostly
It is their first time buying a pouch or waffer and they have nothing else and are desperate. Unfortunately we have to turn them away.

Missed my daughter's patella sleeve fracture that she just got a long legged cast for.

Also took several visits for both my daughters to get proper diagnoses and one has her correct diagnosis given thru a different facility.

I was taken to HRMC for respiratory problems. The staff was excellent. The nurses were very caring and so was the ER doctor. I felt very comfortable and cared for. The hospital is also very clean and beautiful on the inside. When my roommate came to visit who is frightened of hospitals the staff made him feel very comfortable and at ease. I highly recommend HRMC as the hospital of choice for Melbourne residents.

L&D is absolutely horrible! Went in three times conplaingin about the same symptoms. Dr was like oh it s ligament pain when I knew it wasn t. He wouldn t do a pelvic exam cause he felt it wasn t necessary. I FINALLY get in to my OBGYN and I did have an infection. Now not only did he put my health at risk but also my unborn baby at risk! How hard is it for them to do their job correctly!? I ve been dealing with the pain for three weeks! Now I finally have the results I knew should have been addressed the first two times! If you can t do your job correctly then RETIRE! Now I m suppose to have my baby in a hospital that couldn t even do one simple test to make sure my baby is ok!?

I am beyond thankful for the care, treatment, and time presented to my mother. They reassured us, had patience, and were very knowledgeable about every step of the operation. They not only did their jobs extremely well, but also added another aspect that went above and beyond.

Dr. Andrew stclair is a nasty nasty doctor and need his license taken. He sent my son home and told me not to come to the e.r. for a fever. My 8 month old had a fever of 104 n all test came back negative for flu and pneumonia. So he just wrote it off as "infection" without further testing and my son went home still having a fever. Each time I break it. It comes back

I had back surgery on July 13th 2018 with the back center in Melbourne Florida and was hospitalized with complications from post up

I've always had great experience at this hospital in the past but today the floor nurses is very unconcerned with anything anybody that knows me know I don't like needles they put an IV in for routine blood work or if I need fluids I don't want anything but to be comfortable the IV hurts bad and if I'm willing to be suck all over again it has to be bad been dealing with health issues for a long time I don't care for pain meds at all I'm not asking for any I asked if it could be removed and try again thats hard for me cause like I said I DON'T LIKE NEEDLES finally after 35min The nurse Chris which is a male I don't mind I want to get well but He was very rude I caught him rolling his eyes at me like I'm aggravating him when he came in to remove the IV I said I was sorry for aggravating him when I wasn't in order to get good service you have to be a good patient so i thought maybe if i flatter him it would be better but snatched out the IV didn't say a thing and walked out the room. Chis didn't tell me no problem or anything so felt he was disgusted and that makes me feel some type of way signed by me TREVA S BROWN. February 19,2019. 3:12 pm still haven't seen the nurse I started out wit if they plan to pass you on to someone else they should let people kno

The ER was wonderful. The nurses in the floor have been terrific! The Doctors on the other hand. They NEVER show up in a timely fashion. Causing extended hospital stays which are medically unnecessary. The Drs forget that the patients are clients as well and should be treated with better customer service. And the poor nurses can't do their jobs if the Drs don't show up and give better direction.

The best staff in the country, my wife has been in and out of hospitals for the last 20 years. Never came across a more dedicated staff anywhere. Thank you for all you have done. My wife spent a month here and will not miss being in the hospital but will miss the best staff ever anywhere. And a very special thank you to Carrie on A 5th floor.....you should be proud to have a person like her working for you, she makes your hospital shine. What a joy. Thank you

I am totally dissatisfied with the services. I was transported here Tuesday, June 30 to the COVID 19 holding pen. It is what I call it because you are held in the area until COVID-19 test results are received. Both of my test were negative and I was transferred to the 5th floor.
I have pneumonia in both lungs. I get winded and have difficulty breathing. I can t do much for myself. I have been laying in a bed for 3 days and no one has made any attempt to clean me up. My husband and daughter have made calls to the hospital and promises are made. Wednesday at 6:15 pm I was told to eat my dinner that had beed delivered and the nurse coming on shift would be in shortly the help me get cleaned up.. It was 12:15 am when I saw my nurse for the first time. And only after I called for help.
I really feel an investigation needs to be done to see how other patients are treated.

Thank you so much for taking care of me. From the Er to the 6th floor, everyone was over the top in my care. The nurses on the 6th floor were so amazing. The communication during shift change was on point. Can't say enough about the great care I received. Dr Hickerson and staff thank you. Annemarie, Jodi and Dionne, you treated me like I was your family member. Everyone was awesome!

I just received my medical records from an ED visit and they are so inaccurate! And they are for a liability claim. The funny thing is that the first incident I went to Palm Bay Community Hospital ED and they share the same EMR systems and both medical records had information contradicting the other, like address, phone numbers, whether I smoke or not and more. Very sloppy data entry of the facts and on the H&P the information is either inaccurate or they just answered the questions for me. I have reported it to CMS.

Worst hospital I've ever been too!!! If your in pain don't go to this hospital!!! They treat you so horribly and make you feel bad about wasting their time! I thought a hospital is supposed to be there to help??? one of the pa's in fast track is one of the rudest, sorriest, and uncaring person I have ever met!!! If you get her she has long brown hair, skinny, tall, run away or ask to speak with an actual doctor! If she doesn't like what she does then why does she do it? It's not right to be so bad to people who have an honest issue! It's all about money at this place and if you can't afford treatment then they afford to take care of you! How sorry can a place be?!?!

I read the reviews before and did not believe them until now!!! Don't let her treat you the way she treated me!!!

Go to Palm Bay hospital they are so much better! They actually care about you and listen to what is wrong with You! This is the hospital if you want good care to go to!

I want to thank the staff that took care of my mom during a very difficult time Kyle the PA and the rest of the staff gave excellent care and took time to call me and discuss the treatment plan. As a Medical professional when I say I would send my own family to HRMC I mean it ! I can rest knowing they are in good hands.

In the past I would have said this was my hospital...

In the past I would have said this was my hospital of choice as a Registered Nurse. In recent months we have had HORRIBLE CARE for my father with a history of colon cancer. We brought him in per his doctor a month ago for a low HGB. They admitted him and explained they would not transfuse till under 7. He dropped overnight from 8.3 to 7.4 but hospitalist stated he needed a GI consult. Unfortunately this was not possible before Monday and this was Thursday, so after a pint of blood he was sent home to follow up as outpatient. By Sunday he was extremely ill again so we took him to Wuestoff. They found his electrolyte imbalance and the stage 4 cancer that had metatisized to the liver. They connected us with the best Oncologist and he was on his way to treatment to shrink the tumor. Now please know I am not in denial, I know his cancer is not survivable. So three days ago he had been vomiting dark green bile for two days. Knowing he needed rehydration by IV. We took him back to Holmes per his oncologist. The PA was very nice but i am sorry to say the Nurse we had was horrible. She told us that pain and vomiting is normal for his cancer and he looked close to death so take him home so he can die in peace. SO NOW it is a day latet and he is still vomiting. We are again at Wuestoff and he has a complete bowel obstruction. They have treated him amazing and he is feeling better with in two hours of being here. Thank you Wuestoff for actually checking and treating what was really wrong with him, and further for not treating him bad for choosing to treat his cancer with chemo.

I was admitted on 3/13/17 and I ended up spending 13 days in the hospital. All the staff (nurses, doctors, CNA's) everyone that I had contact with treated me like I was family. Holmes Regional has the best nursing staff around. Staying in a hospital for 13 days was the absolute last thing I wanted to do but they saved my life and I can't thank them enough.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thank you to the Nurses in the Trauma center that helped my Mother after a fall last week. Thank you to the ICU nurses that kindly and promptly make sure she was taken care off.
Thank you to the Nurses in Section D 8th Floor for their kindness and care. Thank you Health First!

I was transferred from Palm Bay hospital to consult with a surgeon who didn't have privileges at Palm Bay. I was basically ignored for eleven days. Physical therapy came once, said he'd be back tomorrow. Never saw him again. I'm a big guy and they were having trouble getting me an MRI the surgeon I'd be transferred to see wouldn't talk to me without one. We had four scheduled all fell through. Finally I was goin to be transferred to Orlando. That fell through. Never saw the surgeon. Was shipped off to physical rehabilitation facility. Horrible hospital, rude staff, total incompetence, water and other stains all over, dirty, smelled. Just disgusting. Will never return to Holmes. Ever.

My mother just had a stoke,(last night), and someone from the accounting department just called and asked for payment of her portion of the bill. My goodness, can you even believe it? She hasn t even checked out. Can not even believe this. Quality of care just went out the window because of the dollar. Is Holmes not a Not for profit hospital?

Sad.

To start parking was a nightmare with construction. Their signs were off directing vehicles to areas blocked by cones, pointing to the valet but has a do not enter signs. The guard wasn't at his post when I walked in, he saw me in the lobby and yelled at me for not going through security, it was empty and off to the side. When I made a comment he was nothing but rude. I had to park at the A section for the D section. The had signs that an area was reserved for mobile test equipment where it was clearly parking. I hope they run the hospital better than parking, signs and security. Joe at security, was even sarcastic when I left, even though I didn't even say a word to him. A truck driver couldn't figure out where to go either when I left.

Went in for chest pain since they couldn't find a reason they diagnosed me with sirocic of the liver I've never drank and never used any type of drugs in my life all because of a mussel spasm that affected a CT scan absolutely ridiculous they should have just admitted they couldn't find anything and discarded me

My wife had very mixed experiences during her two weeks at Holmes Regional. On the minus side:
Her death certificate lists the primary cause of death as 'health care associated pneumonia', with three different resistant, hospital acquired, infections: staying there killed her.
Care on the fourth floor was very spotty. For three whole days the hospital failed to give her the thyroid hormone and diabetes medications she depended on. Nurses and their aides ranged from very good to very rough and insensitive. She would often have to wait, and wait, and wait, for pain medication.
On the plus side: care in the ICU and sixth floor was very good. And her surgeon is outstanding.
My overall view: what good is outstanding surgery if you can't survive the d----d hospital.

I would give them more stars if they didnt have the few issues I've been having. I was admitted thursday for weakness and numbness on the left side with severe pain in my stomach. I fell earlier today and am being punished for falling. No more anything for the pain. So now I still have the same problems I came in with as well as pain in my hip from falling and I'm being punished by being forced to suffer in pain all because I fell.

Just returned (25th May) from picking my friend up from the Holmes Medical Hospital in Melbourne, Fla. She had been in hospital for 6 days. A nurse by the name of RENEE BELIGHT assisted us with her discharge as we were getting a little agitated that it was taking so long. RENEE BELIGHT went out of her way to obtaining a wheelchair for us, helping us finding our way out of the Hospital and just a genuine good person. You should be proud of this Employee and hope that she gets recognised in some way. There should be more people like RENEE in this world. She was a blessing! Thank you RENEE BELIGHT for all your help.

Arrived 6:47 Sat 10/17. Left arm very swollen and painful. Almost 20 min before ARNP came....verified serious infection. Ordered blood work, ultra sound ( to rule out blood clot). Blood wprk completed 7:30 isj. Ultra sound almost 9p
Sat feeling increasing swelling amd pain. Again sat until 10:30 when nurse said blood work showed high white cell count
ARNP back few min before 11p. Gonna admit me to run IV antibiotics...really. should have started that at 7 when infection acknoledged....after blood work results...Have beem lying feeling arm continuing to swell and become more painful. As very imp commitmemt Sun and feeling scared as NO trust that she knew what she was doing I refused. So received bolus of antibiotics and left w writtem prescription.
Room also not very clean. When overhead light on dust everywhere. Floor sticky. Stale smell...not usual hosp smell.
What made me most amgry was after lying there between 7p and 11p I recieved no care. Antibiotics should have been running througj IV during that time. IV port put in but used only to draw blood. Fact that I wanted OUT due to issues described was put back on to me. Really their lack of any action increased my issues. NEVER gonna go that ER agaim !

When you have lost all care and comfort for your patients and their families perhaps you should not be nurses anymore.

I'm sorry that my Sister died and I had to come into your facility and bother you with my stupid questions.

Thanks for making an absolutely horrible situation that much worse.

This review is specific to Labor & Delivery as well as Mother Baby:

We had an incredible experience at HRMC for the birth of our first child. Everybody was kind, caring, and respectful of my wishes. For example, I am not a fan of needles or seeing an IV. The nurse (Linda) who started my IV was gentle and even made something to go over my wrist so that I didn't have to see the IV. While the nurses reminded me I could get an epidural, they never pushed it. Rather, one of the nurses (Shannon) helped guide me through a few breaths once my contractions were pretty strong and helped me to relax. When it came time to push, my main attending nurse (Stephanie - who was awesome overall) encouraged me and helped me with each push. We had a beautiful delivery experience.

Once in the Mother Baby suites, the attending nurses (Denise, Jamie, and Jenifer) were wonderful as well. They answered all of our questions and really helped us feel more comfortable in our new roll as parents. They checked on our baby and myself regularly and always made sure that I was feeling OK. They were very friendly with my husband as well and (of course) didn't mind when he tagged along with our baby for any out-of-suite checkups. Both of the rooms that we were in were clean and comfortable. We felt safe and secure, and really liked that there was a private entrance to Labor and Delivery so that we (and our visitors) didn't have to go through the rest of the hospital. We are grateful to the HRMC nurses and staff who helped make the arrival of our first child so wonderful!

Went to ER with extreme back pain. The PA would not do any tests on me claiming that the hospital has stopped doing this type of diagnostics because some insurance companies won t pay. Refused to do any thing for me and sent me home while I was drugged up on morphine. Shame on them! They told me to go follow up with a back surgeon!
They sent me home while I was on morphine! Then they overbilled me from my emergency room visit above the $80 co-pay I was supposed to pay. Yes, I was driving myself.
The next day I couldn t walk. I had to crawl to and from my car. So I drove to Melbourne regional medical Center. I pulled up to the emergency room and waved for a guard to come out, and when he did, I asked him if he would bring a wheelchair out to me while I parked my car, which he graciously did. They did a CAT scan on me and found out I had a serious injury to my spine.

Two months before this episode, I went to Holmes regional for a sprained ankle. My medical insurance was with Health First at this time. My emergency room visits are to be $80. If they did $100,000 worth of tests and diagnostics on me, I would only pay $80.
They have been billing me for an ankle boot and crutches above the $80 which they would not remit. What a bunch of scum dogs. After my second episode with my back, I immediately dropped my health first insurance and went to Careplus Insurance and have not looked back yet. It s so nice to be onto a five star insurance plan instead of a one store plan!

I know many nurses that work for Health First and they hate them with a passion. They know there s not much else around here in competition for them to go to so they treat them really bad. You nurses are coming down from up north now all about unions. There s a reason that healthcare professionals, the police, and firemen and postal workers are on union! You guys need to organize these hospitals down here so that staff and patients get better care, quality care that is!

Hey Health First, don t bother reaching out to me - just fix your broken system. You would just be keeping up appearances only way and not really giving a damn about my experiences.

My father has been taken to the er twice in the last 2 months. First time he was admitted for 2 days given a blood transfusion to be discharged without knowing why he needed blood, all because they couldn't get a consult for a couple of days. 3 days later he was taken to another hospital and admitted for a week. Monday we took him back to holmes for vomiting. He has stage 4 cancer they did blood work and said that his symptoms were just the final stages of cancer and gave him morphine to the point he couldn't even talk and sent him home. The nurse told us to take him home to die, there was nothing they could do for him. We are now on Wednesday at wuesthoff he has a complete bowel blockage and the staff here has been wonderful. I wouldn't trust holmes to treat anyone anymore after this.

Just had to take my wife here; it was our first visit after moving to the area. We've lived all over the country. It's a fact that there are bad hospitals and good hospitals. This is a good one, among the several best ones I've experienced. Intelligent, super friendly staff, from the entrance guard to the head physician. Clean and modern facilities. Efficient process. Was in the waiting room for around 3 minutes. We lucked out in happening to live near this one.

WORSE experience of my life! Came here with my contractions every 3 minutes apart and dilated to almost 4, sent me home because they didn t have the sensors on right to read the contractions. The nurse said I walked around being dilated to a 3 for 3 weeks yeah but we re you having bad contractions every 3 minutes?! I came straight to Cape Canaveral hospital and what do you know, I was in labor. I will never return to this hospital again I can promise you that!

My experience in L&D was not a pleasant one. I was directly admitted from my OB because I was in active labor. Went to HRMC and waited AT LEAST an hour in the waiting room before they took me back, because they were "waiting for a bed to be cleaned." I get that they are very busy on their L&D ward, however don't take back a pregnant woman getting induced who's not in labor, before ME who was almost 7 centimeters and clearly in excruciating pain. Once they finally took me back no one could get an IV in me (never had this happen). I am a nurse and IVS are a basic skill okay. I requested someone else to try and they finally got it in an hour later. I was begging for an epidural but it was too late to get it because of all the waiting I had to do. One of the nurses wore a bandana and damn was she just a snotty thing the whole time! Very rude and condescending. Linda and the pregnant nurse were the only caring ones I encountered who actually had some empathy for me and did all they could to make me comfortable..
Mother baby unit was a totally different experience. Just simply amazing from when I got there until I left. Every single nurse, CNA, Dr, housekeeping, just amazing! They made me feel so comfortable and that family snack area was just awesome!!

I have been here since last wed with a broken neck and infection. I had my 1st surgery Friday and my 2nd Thursday June 1st. The Back Injury team Dr DATTA and Pa Casay have been wonderful as ALL THE TEAM OPERATING associated with the Back Injury Group.!

It is the post operative care that is lacking. In care of the patient. Mistakes have been made and I assure vital.. My pain is a 10 as I now wrote this on the thirst. It was brought to my attention by an undisclosed source that the resident MD's are afraid to medicat due to a young girl who was given meds for post surgery.. Now this hearsay but I beieve from a good source it is a fact., she is either dead or almost died from not being watch carefully.
So now myself a 52 woman is being left in pain. I have excellent vitals and was assured by the Back team I d be comfortable.I AM NOT.
IM ON LESS MEDs THAN THE DAY I ARRIVED.IM TRYING TO FIND HELP. THE CHARGE NURSE On AVOIDING Me AFTER SHE TOLD THE BACK TEAM SHE WOULD TALK TO ME.. I SPOKE TO THE PHARMACY DIRECTOR..GREAT GUY THUS FAR. I ALMOST WANTED TO BE TRANAFERRED NOW.

I've been hospitalized here a few times and the nursing staff are superior! Their knowledge and sympathy, along with their support is above reproach. They make your recovery less stressful. And one of the best things is their hourly check on your well being.

Wife had extremely painful abdominal pain. They let her sit in the er waiting room for 4 hours before telling us they couldnt help because they had no rooms. My wife was in tears, asked the nurse how much longer and the women acted like she didn't care. They only way you will be seen at this hospital is if you come by ambulance. We have counted at least 40 people who have walked out because they have been waiting way to long. A man came in with a spider bite 2 hours after us. Was clearly intoxicated and raised his voice and claimed because he was a "black man" the white folk wouldn't see him. Was taken back ten min later. But my wife who is clearly in excruciating pain has to wait going on 4 hours. Unacceptable. Worst establishment ever.

The whole ER staff was kind, caring & genuine in their concern for my health. No one ever wants to go to the ER but they put me so at ease that I was able to exhale & smile & laugh something I'dnever expect. Wish I could make my ER

My father had to go to Holmes on Saturday October 24, 2020 due to broken ribs and a difficulty of breathing. Due to his difficulty of breathing they determined that he had to be isolated until he was tested for covid-19, it was 4 1/2 hours after being placed in isolation before getting swabbed for covid-19. After being placed in isolation the care and lack of empathy shown by the nursing staff was terrible. My father is 90 years old and a prostate cancer survivor, when he has the urge to urinate he doesn't have 30 - 45 minutes to wait, according to the nurse "he didn't push the button hard enough." The nurse when asked to talk to family member about what was going on with him angrily advised him that she did not have time to talk to anyone because she was getting off shift. I personally went to the triage nurses station and requested to speak to a supervisor and after one and one half hour of waiting left without speaking to anyone.

Outstanding care once again. My husband suffered a heart attack 4 weeks ago to which he needed a procedure done to place a stent. Ashley, in the Cath Lab was outstanding with us, talk about the most positive pep talk before the procedure to calm my husband (and my) nerves. We so appreciated her efforts to make our visit less scary. My husband is back today with another heart issue, we are so thankful to Dr. Mendola and Dr. Karas for giving us the outstanding quality care. Again, Ashley was there to ease our minds. This hospital is amazing in it's patient's care. I know we are always in good hands when we need emergency/quality care. Thank you to all who took great care of my husband. I am forever grateful.

Its 1 am. I've been sitting here over an hour waiting to be seen.
Also was the only one in the er for an hour
Also the parking lot for the er was empty
Hmm no wonder HC is so high they waste hours doing nothing and charge you for it

I can't in good conscience give them 5 stars. However the medical staff deserve more than 5 stars.
My mother was transferred there from Cape Canaveral Hospital for an Open Heart surgery. The nurses, doctors, anesthesiologist, and CNAs were all fantastic. I spent every day there with her. Only saw house keeping the first day none after that.
The kitchen never got her meal orders correct.
The very worst department was case managment. Mom told them from day one she would need a Walker and shower chair at home. We were told the day before discharge it would be taken care of. 10 days after discharge neither had been delivered and noone could tell us if or when they would ever be delivered. Since mom got tired just walking to the bathroom and she had no Walker she developed fluid on her lung and needed to be put on medication at her post OP follow up appointment. Finally I had enough and called the equipment company myself and was told the Walker would be delivered the next day. Now 11 days post discharge. I told them i was driving the hour distance to pick it up because i was not willing to wait any longer. She still has not been able to shower because no shower chair. Her discharge orders from the surgeon say she is supposed to shower twice a day. That is not possible without the chair since she is too weak to stand long enough. If she developed an infection in her incision that will be too much. We wash it twice daily but it is not the same as a shower. This is so unacceptable.

We had to take my wife to the ER. Most of the staff ranged between friendly and generally benign. The wait was long, but not terrible for an ER.. That said, the man who gave my wife her IV was so rude and patronizing it was astonishing to us that he was allowed within 100 feet of a hospital.

Was admitted in the hospital and had the worse care ever... in for 3 days and still don't know my diagnosis.... MRI, Cat Scan, Ulster sound... $$$$$$$... Only 1 Nurse that really cared... NO HOUSE KEEPING in my room for 3 days... Didn't get towels wash clothes soap nothing until I asked. My husband had to ask to change my bed after 2 days... I could go on and on.... WORST HOSPITAL I EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH.... NO MORE!!!!

Worst medical experience ever, avoid!

Worst medical experience ever, avoid!
I had the worst healthcare experience of my life in this hospital: I went to the ER with an ear infection 3 times, asking to be seen by an ENT. They never called the ENT "on call", and I later discovered that she was actually vacationing in the Bahamas... they gave me instead an increasingly strong painkiller to cover the pain and sent me home every time. I suffered a permanent hearing loss as a result of their malpractice.
To add insult to injury, they are charging me for three separate ER visit. Horrible people! Unprofessional and unethical.

Came in for uncontrollably pain.. Had surgery and is pretty obvious the pain im in.. Was discharged with instructions to take over the counter even tho i have lupus nephritis and was unable to control the pain with the medication prescribed by my surgeon.. So i was instructed to come to the e.r. by my surgeon, got sent back to my surgeon to then have the surgeon send me back asking why the er did not contact the on call surgeon or provide anything to help with the fact that I CAME BECAUSE I CANNOT CONTROL THE PAIN. i have lupus.. During a pandemic last thing i need is to be in a hospital unnecessary. But to get discriminated and then discharged while unstable is beyond unbelievable.. I have gone through so much and i don't want to be here. This is not fun for me. I don't want to feel pain. I came as instructed by my surgeon and then to come back within the same hour should really put a prospective here that how severe i am.. As soon as they asked why wasn't the on call surgeon called.. I felt like throwing up.. Im agonizing..

I was truly abused in the recovery room after mastectomy. My nurse went home at 6PM was left alone until almost 9PM when finally transported to my room. Horrible, will not return. I go to Palm Bay Hospital Was not given 1 drop of water from early morning surgery until 9Pm, NOT A DROP
