The Birthing suite is a great place to delivery a child. As a physician, I've worked in a plethora of hospitals and this one showed a higher level of compassion, patience and understanding. Pain was well managed and alternative options were available. Educated nurses with a bag full of tricks to get mama and baby progressing. I wont hesitate to have my next child here!

Thank you for your kindness, care and compassion. My father was admitted through the ER, to the SICU for a devastating stroke. The staff-from neurosurgeon to respiratory therapist to SICU nurse-were all great and sensitive to my Dad and our family's needs.

The staff was nice and the nurses responded to a "nurse call button" within about 15 minutes, at the latest. (I had to ring the call button 15 minutes prior to my pain med time, in order to get my pain meds on time), which is sad. I was in the C Building, Women's Center, and the rooms were for 2 people, and they were extremely small and difficult for nurses to get past the first bed, to treat the second bed patient. I'm rating it low because the trash cans were OVERFLOWING with trash, and when I alerted a nurse regarding this, she placed her foot into the trash bin, and squished the trash down and said "It's not full". The hospital was not very clean. I shared a bathroom with a roommate, and I had a staph infection on my bottom, and the staff didn't care about that. I asked the nurse if I should inform my roommate of my staph infection, and she said "no, do not tell...." I should have been in my own room, considering the staph infection factors. I was looked down upon, and judged, and was told by 2 pain management staff, who treated me like a "drug seeker" (and that me asking for as much pain meds as possible), caused "red flags" to them, in spite of the fact that I have Stage 3 Cervical Cancer and was Post Surgery the day before. It's sad that the 3rd leading cause of death in the US now, is medical mistakes and infections obtained while in the hospital. Considering both Palm Bay and Holmes are both Health First facilities, I wish the food selection and options were equal, to my stay at Palm Bay Hospital, prior to being transferred to Holmes for surgery. I will say that the staff (all around) were exceptionally nice, helpful and empathetic, which is why I scored it a 2 Star. Our healthcare system in America is broken, and it's sad. The nurses are assigned too many patients, which makes every patient suffer, more than is necessary.

I gave birth to my second child here and it was an amazing facility. The L&D nurses and mother baby nurses were some of the best ive ever met and made my experience just perfect! As a VBAC paitient i could not have imagined a better team to deliver with since they were supportive and helped me feel safe and cared for throughout my time there. The other staff members including the food server, lactation consultants, and everyone else was friendly and professional as well, and all made a point to ensure my comfort at all times. I would highly recommend this hospital, and can only hope that if i conceive again in the future that i would be able to have my baby with them again!

I was in the ER for two days this past week. Aside from their general friendliness and kindness they were incredibly respectful. I am a transgender man who goes by a name that is not my legal name as well as pronouns that are different from my biological sex, the nurses and doctors immediately used my preferred name and pronouns, without slipping up, even going so far as using the correct name and pronouns when they didn't think I could hear them. I have never felt so respected in a hospital setting and it made my painful trip 100x better! During my stay the nurses were kind and polite to me, they made me laugh when I had spend my day in pain. A huge thanks to the staff!

Doctor Dudley was really very professional, attentive and caring when put stitches on my son s leg. Nurse Jeanne was very good too. She gave a shot that my son didn t even feel a poke. Also very nice and caring. Room was clean. I didn t like people at register at all. A woman didn t pay attention and even didn t want to talk unless I started asking her questions. People at register first meet the patients and their relatives who can be annoyed or scared. That is why they should have been professional and attentive. Overall my experience is positive.

I had to post this review because Mike in the radiology department was awesome!! I would have given the 5 stars just for him and the guy who did my iv in the radiology department (sorry i cant remember your name. he was so kind as i was so scared of the iv). Mike you are a really awesome person thank you so much for being so kind and caring. I wish there were more people like you and your coworker in all hospitals. The only reason for the 4 stars is trying to find parking was terrible. I was late because i wasnt even on the right side of hospital and the construction didnt help either. All in all i had a really good experience here. Thank you!

I came in late Sunday for a laceration after an eventful day in the woods mudding. I was covered head to toe and they moved someone to another room so that I could have access to a shower. I was treated quickly and in and out in no time. Great experience considering the circumstances.

My mother was a patient on 6th floor east for about a week. She had a fractured hip and was in terrible pain. We were blessed by a compassionate team of nurses, CNAs and doctors. The different specialties worked as a team in trying to find the best treatments for her pain. I cannot say enough about how wonderful everyone was. Our hospitalist, Dr. Veizaj, was amazing. Dr. Shah from Compassionate Care and Lisa with the pain management team were terrific. The nurses were top notch. So kind, caring and patient. So thankful that they were there for my mother at this time of need.

Wish you could just rate on certain staff members. Not all deserve one star. Hospital really need to weed out the staff that does not need to work in the health care field.

After weeks of just not feeling well I finally dragged myself here. After checking in I was placed in an ER room. I had a great nurse that he also worked as a firefighter do my bloodwork. He took the time and you could see he is a people person. That job was made for individuals like him. Time goes on however and my 13 year old son needed something to eat. I got up and had my son tie up the back of my hospital gown. We made our way to the nurse station and asked if I could go with him to get him something to eat. The nurse said sure. I tried asking for directions but she said she couldn't go into details cause an emergency from an ambulance had just came in and she was trying to get in that room. No issue with me. So I made my way and ran into 2 more staff members. Asked them for the directions and they gave it to me. The entire time I am in a hospital gown with IV and the cables for my machine wrapped up in my hands since they were still connected. Passed another 2 nurse one of which was a tall guy wondering where I was going alone with my son. Explained to him that I asked the nurse at the front station in front of my room and she said yes. He said ok and I made my way on. Got my son something to eat and made our way back to the room. About 15 minutes pass and a extremely rude nurse name Marge burst in. She burst out "None of us told you that you could go". Still keeping my cool cause I don't let people of lower standards which she apparently had work me up. I informed her " Yes I asked the nurse sitting there if I could go and was inform I could". She replied again in a rude tone "Well she must of mistaken you for a visitor. We don't let patients walk around with IV and the cables for the machine dragging on the ground". This time I'm just laughing in my head. Cause how a person with a hospital badge, hospital gown, IV and cables which I had wrapped up holding in my hand so they wouldn't touch the ground.. Was mistaken for a visitor. This nurse Marge continued to go on and on till she finally stormed out the room and slam the door. My 13 year old son was highly upset in the manner she was acting towards his mom. I told him just ignore her. She is of little value to us and her attitude does not concern us. Clearly they messed up and was trying to take it out on me.

The one star rating I am giving is for the nurse Marge. Who needs to look a new job. She doesn't need to be around people. Or in that case anything living.

For the staff like the fire fighter that works there part time. Thank you for what you do.

Thankful I didn't have to see MARGE again for the rest of my visit. Maybe next time you can play the security footage back to see or step up and be an individual who takes blame when they clearly messed up.

If elderly stay away from this hospital. Mom came in with head injury. i explained that she can not have antibiotic because she will get C-diff. Was told by Michelle, PA ER, i had two options- 1- give her Rocephine or mom will die. The ER nurse said she would become septic if no antibiotic. All this without the UA culture result and the preliminary blood work for to determine if Mom was septic came back normal. Talked with two Hospitalist and we all agreed no antibiotic. One Hospitalist talked a lot about skydiving but did not remove the antibiotic from the charts. The night nurse Jennifer in A6 did not take very good notes from the day nurse because she was told NO antibiotic, Mom even has a reg tag stating she has allergies to antibiotic. Sure enough after 4 days Mom has C-diff. I tried to warn the hospital because she was in a room with a post-operative patient. C-Diff is very contagious. Again if you love your elderly family DO NOT TAKE THEM TO THIS HOSPITAL!!! YOU've been warned! Also if there is a Malpractice attorney i would be very interested in talking with you.

Horrible Mom Held Hostage by Doctor! Took mom to ...

Horrible Mom Held Hostage by Doctor! Took mom to the ER this past week because she had flu like symptoms without fever. Mom is almost 80 and has Alzheimer but lives at home with family and still does most of her personal care. Mom was not eating this had been going on for a while and now she was vomiting and had diarrhea. We mostly took her in because we needed her re-hydrated and nourished. The staff in the ER were great other then the long wait in the waiting area. Once we got to the back they were great. All test's came back negative but the decision was made to admit mom for further evaluation and get her eating again.

My sister and I went home only after they got a room for mom and she was safely in her room. Being at the hospital all night we did not go back up until that evening. Mom was on 4C when my sister arrived she asked for a nurse to find out what was going on. After waiting 2 hrs a nurse showed up and said oh ya she's eating great no problems. Did not really tell her anything. The next day was my turn after getting off work at 4:30 I went straight to the hospital right down the street. Arrived about 4:45 and stopped at the nurses station to ask what was going on. They said they would send the nurse in to talk to me and I did hear the clerk at the desk talk to the nurse so I headed into the room to wait. And that's exactly what I did I waited. 3 hours later the nurse finally showed up but it was the night nurse who knew only what she was told about mom at report.

Next day we think mom is coming home they were only waiting on PT eval which had happened. Pt eval said mom MIGHT benefit from rehab however if the family felt they could care for her at home she could be discharged to family. So the nurse called the doctor to discharge. And after that everything completely spiraled down hill. The doctor Dr Premdass was asked to come up and speak with the family and explain why she would not discharge. According to the nursing staff she said she would come up before she left the hospital but she had a lot of other patients and did not know when that would be. We started this process about 4:30 and at about 8:15 the nursing supervisor Stacey shows up and explains that Dr Premdass had left the hospital at 7pm when her shift ended and was not going to return to talk to the family. We were told he could check mom out AMA which we were going to do until the paperwork said specifically Death could occur if we checked her out. That combined with the fact that it was now 8:30pm and mom was sleeping we decided to wait until morning. which meant one of us was going to have to take the day off of work to come and deal with the issue.

I arrived at the hospital about 8am and waiting for Dr Premdass to arrive and the administration. Once the Dr arrived she out and out lied straight to my face. But the biggest thing she said to irritate me was that the family was not present so she had to go to rehab. We were there every day, but somehow this doctor had decided we were not present. She never called us both myself and my sister have out of state numbers but we life in Florida. Dr Premdass said I called the numbers in the chart and the voice mail was full. My voicemail is never full people leave me messages all the time. This doctor never made one attempt to contact me.

I did get mom discharged finally and once home she was up walking around like noting ever happened. She was attempting to wash the dishes that same night she came home. So why would they have sent her to rehab.

Do not take your elderly there. They will leave them sit in a room ignored. They will attempt to keep them from their family member's and place them into a home. If you want them in a home and can't get them there then this is the place to take them. But if your trying to do the right thing don't take them there unless your willing and able to sit at the hospital all day long with them.

Good luck we will never go back there I would die before I went there again.

My grandmother had a medical emergency and was transported to Melbourne's hospital from Cape Canaveral because the doctors Holmes specialized in what was going on with her. One of the nurses actually came to take care of my grandmother when it was her day off! The staff there is friendly and my family is thankful that she is receiving care their.

March 1st 2015 I suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. I was air lifted there. I have no memory of that day or the first couple of weeks. When I regained consciousness I noticed the excellent care I received. I have scarce memories of the early days. I remember the feeding tube being reinserted , i used to be an xray tech and im familiar with the nurses commands. I remember the oral.care. the nurse explained every step. In my state I knew what she was doing, just not why. I was not an easy patient. But the staff was kind and gentle with me. I spent most of the month on the 7th floor once I was out of icu. I am blessed beyond measure to have been there under their care.

my father is in there right now. they moved my father to the 7th floor. the staff on the 7th floor is rude and have no compassion for their patients I'm looking for console for a lawyer right now. im sorry if one of your families members get put on that floor you just basically sign their deathbed.

Extremely unprofessional individuals starting from human resources down to nurse managers in the OR. I had to drive for several hours to my interview and they didn't give me the time of day. Playing on their phones and walking in and out as if it was a carnival. I didn't get up and walk out because I actually have integrity. They are also extremely unreliable. I applied in early December for an opportunity that starts February 1st and they scheduled the interviews for late January. Additionally, by Feb 3rd I still had no answer from them. Despite the fact that I kept calling and leaving voicemail nobody returned my call. Needless to say, I got a position at another facility. If this is how they treat their future employees and current ones. I'm horrified to think how they treat their patients. Good riddance.

Allow me to start off by saying I ve gone to several health first facilities and I typically go to either Viera or cape ER when I m having major issues. I m always in and out lickity split and am typically blown away. But Holmes.. I have never seen such severe disrespect or lack of professionalism at a health first facility as I did at Holmes ER. Not towards myself but towards another patient. The front desk staff was not only rude but continued to talk badly about the patient after they took the young woman to the back. Everyone has bad days, and everyone gets worn out when working 10-12 days on before having 4 days off..that does not excuse disrespect nor does it excuse talking badly about the patients. If they ve done it once, they ve done it a dozen times. I ll never in the rest of my days return to Holmes Regional and I will be recommending others take the extra time to drive to one of the neighboring hospitals to avoid the ugliness I witnessed tonight. I m so glad I took the time to record the incident. I refused to be seen by the staff after witnessing the incident and drove to Viera. I ll be contacting HR and reporting this further. I truly urge the woman to do so as well...this can not be tolerated at a hospital...you re there to help people not belittle them or treat them like trash because you re having a bad day

The hospital was great. My husband was in a terrible auto accident the hospital had to amputate his left hand and part of his arm. The ICU and 6th floor were great with him. The ER department was ok. The Security department was not so great! They were actually rude to me.

My mother was admitted when she fell ill and was unable to walk. She was in the ICU for four days and was treated exceptionally. Once she left the ICU, everything changed. The staff treated her terribly, especially when they thought that no one else was there. They literally placed discharge papers under her nose while she was high on meds and attempted to have her sign them- she was unable to sit up on her own! (Keep in mind, she can normally function when not ill.) They botched her spinal tap and it took two days for them to realize that she was leaking spinal fluid, then they botched the patch! They threw out my disabled sister after she tried to voice her concerns to the staff. It got to the point where she begged us not to leave her alone in the hospital because of how cruel the staff was- how would you feel if your mother did that? I will NEVER take her back here should she become ill in the future. Disgraceful.

I supplied my florida blue PPO insurance card prior to treatment. I was not informed that they were not a provider under my plan. Two weeks later I recieved a bill , which is how I became aware that they were out of network. I feel I was decieved by the staff for not telling me when I presented my card that they did not take my insurance . If I had known I would have gone elsewhere.

Unfortunately my father who is90 yrs old has been to your hospital many many times. He was an inpatient last year and wentto a rehabilitation hospital after that..
The bills were huge and medicare paid most of it however there was a portion left over so his Medicaid didn't payit because of a time thing. So after i applied for a charitable assistance my father was denied and now were are being harrassed by hrmc bill collection agency. They call non stop day and night sometimes3 times a day. They must know it's not legal to harrass a person of this age. They would not work with payment plan because of the amount they wanted. So now i guess. We just file some sort of complaint..
I am my fathers care giver and have been for the last13 yrs so i get to deal with this mess. My father lives on ss and he doesn't even receive the amount that hrmc is demanding... Also i had to take myfather to your hospital for cardiac issues and he was preadmitted by his Dr and we waited for almost 7 hours for a room in cardiac floor. It was a horrible experience and im thinking of changing my father insurance to something other than health first medicare. So that's just a very small issues we have to deal with. Thanks for taking care of my poor father

Went to e.r for back pain that was radiating from my lower abdomen and was treated like I was shopping for pain meds or something. Told them it wasn't getting better and was told "oh well if it's coming from your abdomen we would have to do pelvic exams and tests and take u upstairs. Just give the meds 2 more minutes."then instead I'm handed discharge papers. I'm sorry doing your jobs and actually finding what is causing the pain I came in for is such a problem for you guys. I came to the e.r. because I was in extreme pain and instead you had me sit on a chair for 3 hours waiting for pain meds to work instead of doing any tests which is why I went there obviously. Rudest staff I have ever dealt with in my life. Holmes really needs to hire people who don't act like their patients are all scumbags. I will tell anyone I know never to go here. Viera is 100 times better.

My father was admitted to the CICU (Cardicac Intensive Care Unit) a few months after my 18th birthday. He received emergency surgery from the Holme's cardiac unit that saved his life. He was unconscious for a few weeks and I was designated as his medical surrogate since I was next of kin. The staff was so kind to me and helped me with the necessary paperwork and decisions for his care. They helped me when I needed it, but didn't treat me like a child. My dad received amazing care in the CICU and I'm so glad that this was the hospital he was admitted to. He probably would not be here today if it had been our local hospital...

I hope the experience there is better then what you get on the phone. What a
complete piece of #$%^! How do you lose a patient in five minutes? I would have to say someone needs to go back to high school. Hope I never have to get lost there.

I brought my son there tonight to get answers. We went to palm bay hospital on friday and our experience was just as awful. He has been on antibiotics for 3 days now and still has a fever. It was 103.8 when we got there. He has been throwing up profusely and screaming that his head hurts. He is extremely ill and they did not run one test to see what was causing it. They gave him tylenol ans zofran for his fever and vomiting and as soon as his fever broke we were discharged. I can bring his temperature down on my own so that wasnt why i took him to the hospital. Needless to say 1 star is too high of a rating for this disgrace of an establishment.

Life-threatening and uncaring emergency room. I was refused treatment (fully insured) while BLEEDING FROM MY KIDNEY! They refused to examine me to find the source of the bleeding and refused to admit me. I have the paperwork to prove it. Unlawful, but not a "good" malpractice case. If you get sick in Melbourne, go to the airport!

I went in for chest and LEFT arm and neck pain also have a tingling feeling in left arem n left side of face.. they did a few test that took 6 hrs and then discharged me and changed ny complaints to back and neck problems THAT IS NOT WHAT I WENT IN THE ER FOR!!!

Very poor regard for patient and family. Dealing with rude hospital staff over the phone while trying to check on status of elderly parent was not appreciated. Took five phone call attempts reach my father only to hear in the end that the phone is not working in his room and a rude click hang up by the hospital ER Staff. Health South sucks, I hope I never end up on Medicare.

I very reluctantly went to this ER as many reviews were very negative. Let me tell you it was one of the best ER experiences I ve ever had. We were in and out including exam, X-rays and ortho boot placement in less than 90 minutes and they appeared to be fairly busy. EVERY staff member was friendly, caring and extremely professional. I am sorry for those who may not have had a good experience but I rate this ER a 5 Star.

In December my, awesomely thorough, primary care physician, Dr. Fadigan order a CT for me. Due to my family history and the change in my cholesterol. Surprise, there was a mass in the upper right lobe of my lung. After seeing an in oncologist and having some other tests I then had a PET scan. 2.5mm mass that was metabolically active.
Subsequently, I was referred to Dr. James Thornton who sent me for a CT guided biopsy. It was determined I had a carcinoidal tumor of the lung. We set a date for an open thoracotomy for Feb 21st. I was in the hospital for six days with two chest tubes and in a lot of discomfort. I always felt that Dr Thornton and his wonderful team had my best interests at heart.
Throughout all the tests I had, X-ray s , CT s and respiratory treatments I was treated with nothing but kindness from the fabulous staff. Everyone from the lady who cleaned my room,
the sweet young man from dietary and the CNA s were so pleasant and caring. The nurses were exceptional! There was not a person who entered my room who did not make the hospital look exemplary.
I wish you could look back at my chart and let all these people know just how much I appreciated them!! Sorry I can t remember names - I may have been taking a few happy pills to take the edge off the pain!
Sincerely,
Cathleen Quinn

I went in for a simple cystoscopy and ended up getting six pints of blood, kidney failure, and had to be emergency transported to another hospital to save my life. The urologist did the procedure, went on vacation and the covering doctor never showed up. I ended up getting dialysis twice and nearly died.....and I have insurance.

I can't speak for the emergency room, or other parts of the hospital but I had my daughter here and my experience was incredible. The nurses were great, and everyone was very attentive and helpful! The food was really good too! (Especially for hospital food.) My daughter never left my sight, when I refused any vaccinations for her and only allowed the eye cream, I wasn't chastised, but they respected my decision. If I had a complaint it would be that they were too attentive! But seriously I would have my next child there in a heartbeat!

My daughter was recently hospitalized in D Building 4th Floor MICU with severe blood clots in her lungs and leg. It was a very scary, painful experience for her and very scary and emotional for her family. However, I want to say that the nursing care she received on this floor was outstanding. Stephanie, Sarah, Ciarra, Rose and especially Deb (her night nurse) were beyond words. I cannot tell you how much these women advocated for my daughter and cared for her with skill and compassion. Even the CNA, Megan, who came in to bathe her and wash her hair treated my daughter with such gentleness, it almost made me cry. I cannot begin to thank these women enough for not only caring for my precious daughter, but also for the way they cared for her husband and father and me when we were with her. They went way beyond the call of duty. I know it was the very competent doctors making healing decisions for her, but if it were not for this nursing staff, I fell like her recovery would have been slower. I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the way you cared for my daughter.

We went to HRMC for a simple lab test. We were given vague directions to locate the lab by the security officer when we walked in, and we traveled the length of the hospital searching for signage of ANY kind that would direct us to the lab, but ended up in the ER. A nurse there redirected us and we found the lab check in desk, were checked in and asked to wait. 20 minutes later, I poked my head over the empty registration desk to see if anyone actually inhabited the area. A passing employee said someone would be "right with you" - then we stood there another 10 minutes before the registration desk employee returned from wherever she had been. She checked us in icily, and directed us to a second waiting area, where another 20 minutes of our lives were lost. HRMC could use two things (at least) to improve their outpatient lab sevices: signage or floor diagrams throughout and customer service training for ALL patient-facing positions.

I was schedueled for a c-section. I was to be ther...

I was schedueled for a c-section. I was to be there specifically on November 12th 2018 at 10 am to welcome my son into the world. There the doctor (who shall remain nameless until further notice) came in as they were "prepping" me and felt my stomach. Probably measuring the baby which might I add is highly inaccurate. She then looked at my paper which I never got back and said "i really dont know why you're having a c section hes not even 7 pounds." Which after 5 measuring ultrasounds in a month getting over 8 pounds what am i to believe. She then started pushing me for an induction which i was trying to deny. Sent me into a panic attack with my fiance (who is also my sons father) right there freaking out as well. I told her I wanted the c section reguardless of what she said. She and the 2 nurses who were with her kept DENYING ME WHAT WAS ALREADY APPROVED all because they though they knew better then the woman who monitored my ENTIRE pregnancy and a high risk specialist obgyn! I told thethem i would leave if they werent going to listen and they said I wasnt allowed to leave, I WAS 22 YEARS OLD (i am now 23). They also talked badly about my OB Dr. Kelly saying she did me a "disservice". After an hour of them literally hounding me I went into labor and delivery for an induction against my wishes! The next morning an amazing doctor, dr.tobia came and was suprized I agreed to the induction. When i explained briefly the situation he said "look anytime you want even if you do get the pitocin give me the word and I'll take you for a c section" he was so calm and nice i was able to FINALLY calm down and decided to give the induction a full try knowing it wouldnt work lmao. I was in full labor for a while and pushing for a few hours. My son got stuck so it ended up being a c section anyways. Here's where it get complicated. My epidural wouldnt work at that point and neither would the spinal block. So I had to be put to sleep. Dr. Jackson did my c section and my son was born at 8:14 a.m. November 14th 2018. But I guess I had never mentioned I'm allergic to most adhesives and they put skin glue on it with stitches. Not their fault on that one and I dont know if that one counts but man did my incision feel better when it came off! If the first doctor had or has done this to anyone else I encourage you to speak out. Me and my son might be ok but stress is never good for baby or mom! I didnt remember you could post reviews so sorry about this. Other then the first doctor and her two minions everyone was great. Brownies were my favorite. Also I think they need a better communacation system between doctors and nurses because I didnt know what an abdominal binder was and jesus I needed one! And even though i wanted to talk with a lactation consultant i never even saw one come in my room and i never did skin to skin because i didnt know the benefits (first time mom) so yeah if you go there at all always remember if you arent clear on something demand answers! And if you are uncomfortable with the doctor you can request to see someone else whenever you please! Their paycheck is not important to me what is important to me is the life of those i care about. And I pray to God someone from the hospital staff sees this and makes sure to help not just the women in maturnity but all the people in the hospital!

Unbelievably bad. My husband and infant daughter were both seen due to stomach viruses that caused severe dehydration a huge call for concern in an infant especially. We had the most inexperienced nursing staff I ve ever experienced. As if this experience wasn t traumatic enough for my baby daughter, they had to take her blood THREE times because it congealed from sitting on a cart too long rather than being taken to the lab in a timely fashion. The IV bag on both my husband and daughters drip finished, and the machine LOUDLY beeped for over 25 minutes with no one coming to aid. I pushed the nurse call button over 20 times, thank God there was no real emergency and no one was dying in this room! I was bothered three different times by three different people about my billing options and had to explain to all three of them, that I have insurance for my family and damn good insurance at that. Next time I ll choose the hospital closer to home. I d give zero stars if I could. This place is a joke

My husband has been sitting in the waiting room going on almost 3 hrs now just to be seen.. Not only that but the nurse's are so rude no bedside manners snooty and self absorbed..My husband is sitting next to A lady in the waiting room throwing up in tears and in pain and the nurse has the nerve's to be rude and talk to the lady with an attitude.. Holmes regional was never like this.. This is sad when only the candy strippers are nice.. What a disgraceful place you nurse's and drs have made this place..

I recently had surgery at this hospital, as my first surgery ever they did an amazing jobs.I don't remember the names of the nurses that took care of me while i was in pre-op but they did a great job. The OR nurses were amazing as well, they lessen my anxiety before i went under anesthesia. After my procedure the nurse assistant helped me to the bathroom and she also took me to our car when it was time to go home. I feel like i received first class care for my surgical experience.

Don't understand the bad reviews for this hospital. This is the only hospital I will take myself my wife or my children for they have the best physicians . Never had any issues here great people.

I can't give an entirely negative review. But these last few visits over the last few years have definitely been negative. I've emailed their info@hf.org a few times without answer or response. The emergency department literally drug me out last night in a wheelchair because I can't eat or drink because I can't swallow. I'm 5'10" and down to 128lbs. That should be the proof I need being their last review on me shows noticeably heavier. Fortunately, I had a video call the entire time I was there, about 6hrs, and she heard it all. Hospital wouldn't offer any resolution because I don't have insurance. Doesn't matter I'd gladly pay with cash if anything were resolved. Drug me outside in a wheelchair and just left. As a 40yr old, disabled epileptic they know I can't just get in my car and leave, but was any resolution offered? Nope. My pastor came and picked me up at 22:30.
If you have good insurance, it's a great hospital. If not, it's a waste. Rude, disrespectful, better than you. That's the approach.

If you do not have insurance DON'T GO TO THE ER. On 2 separate occasions had bad experiences. First time my girlfriend was I extreame pain she had sever endometriosis with brain cysts. We were accused of doctor shopping for pain meds and were ignored. Turns out she was miscarrying and the desk girl called her ex boyfriend and told him she was in the er with a miss carriage.
The second time I kept having chest pains and passing out after 2 weeks of this my mental faculties were compromised. I went to the er and was told after an enzyme test that some of my numbers were really high and some weren't. I told them I was on tramadol and just had cortisone injections and also that I had Bescheyts syndrome and that it is an autoinflamatory disease. About 20 min later I was told that I was being discharged because they didn't know what was wrong with me and I seemed fine. Turn out I waa haveing multiple TIA attacks a day some where between 20-30 in a 2 week span. When leaving I had another mini stroke in the parking lot and crashed my car into some bushes.

Since I moved to Palm Bay 7 months ago I came to Holmes for my daughter and myself approx 3 times combined and this Hospital is great! I love the security they have at the doors and throughout the facility! Very clean and sterile with fast and friendly check in to Triage! The nurses at nursing station in ER can be a little more friendly we get it long days/nights but it s a job they chose to go to school for and yes indeed dealing with a sick patient is not always easy but being polite should always be priority. I would definitely recommend Holmes to anyone and everyone

Excellent care for my daughter who was transported there for heart issues. Professional care from the day she entered the hospital till the day she was discharged. Can't say enough about this facility. From the security to the staff and doctors, they all where on point. We are very appreciative for compassion and care. Thank You!

My experience at the Holmes regional Hospital Melb...

My experience at the Holmes regional Hospital Melbourne began when I was delivered by helicopter from my car accident scene on for the turnpike, Immediately upon arrival I was taken care of by the trauma team and put into surgery the orthopedics and the trauma team department literally saved my life they took all my fractured arms and legs and put it all together, Especially my right arm that was chopped off that I thought it was forever gone. Waking up after surgery seeing that you can move the fingers of all your hands and fingers off your feet is such a miracle. Therefore, there s no Amount of stars on a review to describe My gratitude on saving my life. Now furthermore the rest of the staff was amazing taking care of me throughout my stay specially or exceptionally The CNA Eva on the trauma department on the fourth floor she was not only professional but genuine she was giving care of a mother to a son something that was lacking due to COVID-19 of no visits at the time, from anticipating my needs and realizing things that I need before I even ask for them, Like providing a hot warm shower on the bed while I was helpless I can t move your arms no legs and change my bed sheets bringing things are closer to me or to my reach, shortly after I got moved to the sixth floor where a gentleman named Paul provided such as amazing care and out of his job descriptions as a registered nurse but he was really caring and genuine I m very very very appreciative Going above and beyond and helping me with the few things that my visitors have brought and taking shower, I would not wish on anyone to stay at the hospital but if you have to do so.the Holmes regional Hospital in Melbourne is a miracle place

If I could give it zero stars, I would. My husband (21y/o) came in for back pain in the ER, and with poorly taken x-rays from Health First urgent care, a discharge nurse immediately said it was cancer with no other evidence, an hour into his visit, very harsh and blunt, with no sense of empathy OR professionalism. During his two day stay, every doctor we saw had no previous knowledge of his history and relied on us to fill them in; they were all young, only one of them was an actual MD, and they all seemed like they were too good to be there. He has high blood pressure which was new but even at 158/108, the nurses/CNA s absolutely ignored it like it was a regular thing. Also not to mention the accidental amputation of the WRONG LEG a few years back. I will never recommend Health First to anyone, critical condition or not.

Do not take your kids here! Physicians have no clue what their doing. Nurses were very sweet. Daughter went in and the doctor did not even evaluate her at all just ordered test. Parents save your time and protect your kids take them to Orlando where they will be well taken care of. The one star would be for the nurses.

Place is a joke...yes they made my girlfriend feel a tad better...brought her at 1230 am...at 3 am they said they would have her MRI by 7am...she did not go for it until 1:45 pm and yes i clocked it...they starved her and her baby...she is 18 weeks pregnant and at the time malnutritioned but finally ate at 7pm the next day!!!...gave her soda thats shes medically not allowed to drink..then they were supposed to have her discharged around 3-4pm...took her iv's out...told her to get dressed... it's going on midnight to the next day and we are still waiting for her to be discharged...pffftt...ripping off insurance companies by having her sit in the room doing absolutely nothing...not monitoring her...seriously....GTFO!!! SOME MEDICAL SCHOOLS...

They get one star because I cannot put zero stars. They apparently cannot use the complicated phone system to return calls. I am so glad I do not need to rely on this hospital for my health. My advice...go anywhere else to include Mexico for better healthcare.

Primary Care physician ordered my companion to HRMC over Cape Canaveral immediately for treatment. He was admitted to Sixth floor A and I was allowed to stay in his private room. The staff was amazing and I mean everyone. From the guy driving the courtesy cart to the security, the transporters and housekeeping. Our nurses were attentive and caring. The food was good! We were there for three days and I ate there, the cafeteria food was reasonably priced. The nutritionists we're caring ladies. We had a few accidents in our room and the nurses and CNAs were calm throughout, allowing my Tom to retain his dignity. I hope I never go back, just glad we got to meet the crew we had. Too many to name, but shout out to Yvette!

I was diagnosed with Covid-19 last Monday and was told to go to the ER if I developed shortness of breath. By Sunday, I still wasn t any better so I went to Holmes. In the 6 hours there, I was given the run around, and despite being Covid positive, asthmatic, and diagnosed with pneumonia, I was refused any breathing treatments. The only help I received was a visit from the pulmonary department with a puff of an inhaler. My oxygen bounced between 89 and 94 the entire time and was still not given oxygen despite my request. I was discharged with a script for only Zpak. Not only that, but there was blood (NOT MINE) all over my finger monitor and bed rail..... and when I was discharged, I had to wait for a ride but wasn t allowed to wait inside, instead I was escorted outside in the 97 degree heat, struggling for breath. I ended up having to see a different doctor the next day because I still couldn t breathe (obviously, as nothing was done for me in the er) I will never go back to this hospital again.

Everyone is extremely cold and have no compassion for their jobs or the people in pain. Stayed here for. A week for blood transfusion and the doctors and nurses were unforgiving. Hate this place. Even the doorman gave my sickly old nana a hard time. HATE THIS PLACE.

Excellent service and very friendly emergency arrival staff members including the nurses inside are awesome.
Nurse Miss Stephanie and Miss Julie went above and beyond to help my father for his ear pain.
They didn t give up till they got that big chunk of wax out of my father s year and that night he felt better after 3 months. We have change 3 doctors for his ear pain and at the end we use Holmes emergency cause of the extremely heavy pain.
Thanks Miss Stephanie and Miss Julie.
Stay safe guys.

The worst hospital in the entire planet! I was the...

The worst hospital in the entire planet! I was there originally in January of 2019 and they committed a big Hippa violation by giving all my information to another patient that was getting discharged a couple of hours before me. So a stranger was out walking with all prescriptions and all my personal information.
Just had a small surgical procedure yesterday Monday July 22, 2019 I had a needle removed from my heel by a great doctor not here at Holmes but in his own facility. Unfortunately the very next morning while being on crutches I was going to the restroom and one of the crutches slipped so to break the fall I had to land my bad heel on the floor and it ignited one of the worst pains in my life. I took my pain medicine all day long but when I noticed that it was almost 7:00 pm it just worsened so my wife talked me into going to the ER and called the paramedics. They came and rushed me to Holmes when I got there I was quickly seen By a PA not even a real doctor (Vega PA) all he said was that the stitches looked good and to continue taking the meds I was prescribed, again this is not even a real doctor but an assistant. I was quickly discharged after giving me a shot of ibuprofen.
I went to another hospital because something didn t seem right, and just as I knew I was seen by a real certified doctor at this different hospital and they did MRIS and X-rays to really make sure nothing threatening happened during my fall. Thank God I went they diagnosed that my plantar fascia had some minor tares and needed more than just ibuprofen. Anyways Holmes Regional Hospital has become worse and worse every time. I have been there like 5 times in the past year and they don t have certified Doctors to diagnose their patients but only assistants that have no freakin ideas in the world what they are doing!

I give Holmes 5 starts for ONE reason and ONE reason only. Anesthesia dept CRNA Eric Cutberth. He kept me calm and was the 1st person to get an IV in me without IV team in over 10 yrs. If your going under...hes your Anesthesiologist especially if you fear it.
My previous experiences when undergoing anesthesia at Holmes were horrific. Im already deathly afraid of going under and last time I woke up with burns on my neck and evidence they dropped me. Investigation hidden and dropped. This go around? I didnt even have a panic attack thanks to CRNA Cutberth so if these are the types of specialists they are now bringing on? Maybe Holmes wil get a get a few more stars. His RN Frank I think? was amazing too.

We have not had a positive experience there yet. My daughter had pneumonia and ( could have gone home after four days) but was kept/charged to be in the hospital for seven days just because they did not have a pulmonary cardiologist who could come check the pain in her chest. My father was admitted bleeding profusely and they sent him home without finding the bleed, even after several transfusions. He then had a heart attack because they took him off the Plavix for three weeks. I went in with severe abdomenal pain and could not they could not figure out what was wrong and sent me home with antibiotics, without doing the proper testing.

They treat people like trash. My husband had serveral seizures and the fire department came to my house and gave him a total of 5 different medications in an attempt to stop him from seizing. Those included benzodiazepines and narcan when I told them he didn't do drugs. I was already upset with the fire department for their judgmental assumptions. He gets to the hospital and it was even worse! They put him into a medically enduced coma because he was confused, and had been pumped full of meds he has never had. They kept him that way for 4 days and kept saying " if he behaves and doesn't fight we will wake him" well their idea if "fighting" was moving and trying to get the intubation tube out. They finally woke him up and assumed he had a drug overdose even thought there were no drugs or alcohol in his system except "benzos" (that the fire department administered to him) which was confirmed by urinalysis and blood tests. But oh no, they ignored what the fire department wrote in their report. I turned out he had the seizures because of drinking too much water which effected his nephrotic syndrome. To make matters worse they found all sorts of things wrong with his heart including a congenital valve defect, an aneurysm, atrial fibrillation, and a problem with his aortic root all of which is hereditary. They doctor came in and actually asked him "do you smoked crack cocaine" and when he replied " no" the doctor then said " well do you smoke meth then?" To which he gave the same answer. I cannot believe that they treat people like this. Maybe if they spent more time treating patients and actually finding out what is wrong instead of throwing around wild accusations and behaving as though everyone is some drug riddled scumbag then they would have better reviews.

As I ve been in several hospital over the past six...

As I ve been in several hospital over the past six years I can honestly say this was the worst experience in a hospital I ve ever had and hope to never experience again.

I was admitted for 8 days. In that time I experienced pretty much any horror story you ve heard of, waking up in my own waste, no one responding to calling via the nurse button, being expected to use a shared bathroom with feces on the toilet seat.

No one offered me any personal hygiene in 8 days. Thank God my husband helped with sponge baths and brushing my teeth when he realized on day three that nothing had been done.

The dietary team is not equipped to handle food allergies. Their answer was to feed me the same meals four days in a row. By day four I was gagging so my husband brought food from the cafe and home.

As a patient you re subjected to hospitalists that don t agree on your treatment plan. They change your treatment plan without discussion or continuity.

I could go on, but this gives you an idea of what i experienced. Hoping to never go back.
