Hoffman Appraisal Company Review

I had the pleasure of speaking with Brian Hoffman today in reference to an appraisal value I didn't agree with when presented to me. In speaking with Brian and researching the discrepancy further, he not only uncovered an error with the entire condo association, he truly took it to another level by providing me clear documentation supporting the issue and took the time to discuss it with me in detail. In addition, he is personable and really cares about his business and doing the right thing. A very rare quality in our business circle. Thanks so much Brian!

Would not recommend this company to anyone. The bank we are financing through chose them to come out and do the appraisal. The appraisal came back $17,000 under what we were under contract for. We disputed the appraisal and they changed the information only slightly to reflect the upgraded bathrooms - by doing that, the amount didn t change at all somehow. They also didn t include the sellers concession. It came back with a ton of flags on it and I m not sure how it even got through our banks underwriters - still working on that part but wanted to be sure to warn others of their lazy work!

I have worked with Hoffman Appraisal Services for a few years now and have never been disappointed. They provide awesome communication, quicker than normal turntimes, and quality reports. I definitely recommend using them!

Terrible appraisal company set out to blow up fair market deals. This company chooses lowest priced homes in the area they can find and completely ignores several higher priced homes that match criteria within a half a mile of subject. Made no upward adjustments on several very apparent key items in home comparisons. Home owner had an appraisal done last year that came much higher then this companies and the market has gone up since. Zillow, CMA reports, and many other reputable companies also have home valued much higher. Home had several interested buyers, great reaction from public as it was #1 viewed listing on Zillow. Seller is now being forced to sell for way below fair market value on a home that is in excellent condition and that the seller put tens of thousands of dollars into upgrades.Terrible judgement used by this appraisal company hope no one else ever has to deal with them.

Most often you are not able to choose your appraiser. If you are able to choose for your own personal appraisal I would not recommend this company. If you get stuck with them, good luck! Appraisals are drastically low. I submitted additional comps for the appraiser to take into account which were relevant, including date of sales, sq footage, and upgrades. He brushed them off with the answer of they were not in the correct time frame, which they were. Thank God with a lot of extra work and negotiations on both ends we made the deal work. But very possibly could have gone the other way. Very unprofessional in the fact I was not able to reach the owners or appraisers. Left voicemails and sent emails and did not hear back from anyone at all. Avoid this company if at all possible!

From the initial contact with Jennifer to make an appointment, and throughout the appraisal process, I found Hoffman Appraisal Services to be professional. Chris, the appraiser, was on time for the inspection appointment, and was professional, experienced and thorough. The appraisal was completed in the promised time frame. I would use Hoffman Appraisal Services in the future.

Brian and Jennifer are amazing truly. From jen s call and her polite manners to Brian s funny personality, this is an amazing business! I definitely suggest this !

Hopefully you're not one that happens to win the unlucky lottery with Brian at Hoffman Appraisal Services. Unfortunately Wells Fargo sent this company out to do an appraisal on my home in Lake Nona with an agreed contract price of $440k. Hoffman Appraisal some how came up with an estimate of $390k!? This was already with a $20k reduction in the asking price in an area where values have consistently been strong with substantial appreciation. Zillow even showed an estimate of $444k on this property, which doesn't even include the $30k in upgrades performed in the past 2 years. We ended up accepting $425k , a significant reduction in the asking price, while the buyers had to come out of pocket and additional $35k just to make this deal go through, due to time constraints. I know this doesn't help much due to the new laws and lack of input you can provide these days, but it really feels like this appraiser was playing property value cop or something! Or maybe it was just pure incompetence? Don't hold your breath on the contract price if you see this company show up!

I had the pleasure of speaking to Brian Hoffman today regarding the results of an appraisal. I had some technical questions for him. I was so pleasantly surprised by his willingness to help me, and, my clients with our understanding of the process. I have been selling real estate for a long time, and, my experience with speaking to appraisers has not always been positive. Brian took a great deal of time to help with us. He offered practical solutions to address our problem. He was professional and knowledgeable and had a genuine interest in helping us. I cannot recommend him more highly.

Do not use this company the bank send for an appraisal for a condominium and by mistake they had put a unit number which my property dose not have a unit number, apparently they had sent the report to the bank and keep on sending the same report. i am so mad due to this i haven't been able to close on my loan

Brian Hoffman and his staff were completely professional, knowledgable and courteous. They made the effort to dig a little deeper into one item that surfaced and it proved to be beneficial for all parties. I would definitely recommend Hoffman Appraisal in the future.

i would give them negative review if i could. The guy came last Friday after 45 minutes of his scheduled time then just took few pictures and was not interested listening about the upgrades i had in the house. seems like he was rushing after being late for 45 minutes. however i bought the house for 356K in Feb . since then price was up as we had lot of developments. some of my neighbor sold their house for way over 400K recently. i had a cash offer of 380k plus. But i bought this brand new house to live so i decided to refinance (since my interest is high) but seems like this appraisal company is going to mess up the refinance process. they estimated my house for 345K which is really unrealistic. i spent hell lot of money on all energy efficient appliance and the appraisal guy put no there. lot of mistakes and at the end avoid them .

I received an appraisal report from an appraiser of this company. It was extremely thorough and even took into consideration the current COVD19 situation. I have been reviewing appraisal reports for my clients over the last 7 years and I considered that this report was extremely fair and clear on how exactly they came up with the home appraised value. I looked up the comps they used and all the home sales and I came up with the same value. I see a lot of negative reviews but keep in mind you can always send them any comps for review. There s many factors considered when they do the appraisal and they hold a larger responsibility of giving a fair value. Over all the appraisal report was clear and I would recommend this company to give your home a fair market value.
