Overall a nice stay. The room was quiet and clean. The technology is a little dated. There is a flat panel TV but no built in USB ports anywhere. Decor is also a bit dated. Staff was all friendly. The air conditioning worked Great!

Our room was small but efficient. There was nothing special about it though, and I've stayed in far cheaper but nicer hotels. Nothing stood out to give it a reason to be so expensive, other than its location.

The hotel is very nice, it even has historical significance, nice location, from one side you can overlook the Lake Michigan. For conference purposes it's not the best, the rooms are quite separated and difficult to find at first

Nice hotel but awul service. Asked for an extra toothbrush (lost luggage in in the airport) and an hour later my 2yr old daughter was felling cold so I asked for an extra blanket and the woman on the phone was really rude. Also the room had a nasty tobacco smoke oddor.

A very impressive hotel, I took a financial class here and the service they provided was most elegant and helpful. They had many carpeted floors and ornate artwork highly pleasing to the eye. There swimming pools were profoundly admirable!

This is a great old school hotel, I think built by Conrad Hilton himself. I found a great rate that included parking, which makes this place a great find right downtown. The room was a 1 king bed, which was a little smaller than new hotels, but perfectly good for 1-2 people. The only 2 minor issues I saw was having to be aware to keep window curtain closed or you ll become very familiar with the neighbors. The second being a common hotel issue that other guests can t seem to be quiet when in the Hallways. Seriously people, just don t talk for the 2 minutes it takes to walk from the elevator to the room.

We had our room upgraded to one that didn't have working A/C. Most uncomfortable stay in quite some time. Talking to other conference attendees, confirmed it's not an uncommon problem at this hotel. It's just very old and in desperate need of renovation.

DIgital key is the bomb - no stopping at the front desk, ever. I LOVE that I came in at 10pm and just went straight to my room. Reasons for 4 stars - parking fees are ridiculous - $71, and because the digital key does not work with the elevators.

Hotel was amazing, clean, gorgeous. Rooms were good size, only issue was the wind sneaking in the windows. Also tried turning up the heat a couple degrees during the night and it never went up. Stayed the same but kids were chilled.

This is the historic and lovely flagship of the Hilton family of hotels. Gorgeous and genteel, one is taken into a bygone era from the moment one steps into the lobby from Michigan Avenue. With views of the city, Lake Michigan, Grant Park, and the Museum District, there is much to see from the windows of the hotel as one plans where to go and explore one of America's great cities.

Tom at the front desk and Chuck in the restaurant were amazing. I booked into a junior suite that provided generous space to spread out and relax. The Gingerbread hotel and skyline in the lobby was stunning. The giant Christmas tree and garlands put one instantly into a cheerful holiday mood.

Thanks for a great stay.

Nice well appointed hotel. The room was comfortable although the heater was a bit slow to come on for some reason. We ate in every restaurant in the hotel during our stay and the food was fabulous in all of them.

I've stayed here two years in a row for a conference, I've stayed for other events, pleasure, etc. Long in the short is, this hotel leaves a lot to be desired. Slow check in (molasses could move faster in a Chicago winter), filthy guest rooms, no toilet paper (yup, you read that right), non existent Wi-Fi, climate control that couldn't figure out the difference between winter and summer, staff that just don't respond/care, B.S. excuses from staff about issues and inability to schedule for a large group. I've sent concerns through the channels that the hotel provides and have yet to get a response. Oh, good luck using their in house Wi-Fi to check email. Speedtest won't load on their network, neither will Office 365 mail. 2 yr old MacBook Pro which works perfectly elsewhere. Also, i couldn't access Google reviews for their hotel, so I'm writing this from my phone.

That would be a 3-star hotel in Europe. There is not even slippers or bathrobe in the rooms, not even a bottle of water in the fridge, not even a platter of fruits or a kettle to boil water and make some tea! And you should pay for Internet! No free Internet for guests! I am totally disappointed! I've been to other Hiltons in Europe and Middle East, I've never seen such a thing!

I was at an event for Catholic Charities and the service and food was great. Everything was set up well and the room looked gorgeous. The building is rich with history and you can definitely see it. The food was a little too posh for my taste, but still good.

A view from my room.... A History in place. Must see history memory lane . Beautiful lobby where the greats of politics and entertainment personalities rub shoulders. Book in advance to get good room rates.

The Hilton Chicago is a great place to stay in Chicago. The rooms are clean and large, and the staff is very helpful. In the rooms, the beds are a soft and the bathrooms very clean. The staff is friendly and will happily assist you with your problems. A few notes: the shower door was in an awkward position very close to the toilet and parking is very expensive, so be prepared for that.

Beautiful historic hotel that is well located in Chicago. Its directly across from Grant Park and the Lake. Staff is extremely pleasant and friendly. A treat to stay here and admire the architecture. Room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Great experience!!

I usually do not leave a bad review but the stay I had with Hilton Chicago on the Michigan Ave was way below my expectation. I had to say that the hotel itself is in good location and ok shape. However, the service was really terrible. People working in the front desk was slow for checkin/out and the request for stuffs such as tooth paste took Forever. I had to call them (never went through always busy, and the room service was not available) and ran downstairs to asked them for twice - it was not until two hours later that the requested items were delivered. The most disappointing part is the checkout process. I prepaid the stay through a 3rd party. When requested a folio, I was expected a formal copy with their logos and a clear checkin and checkout dates, as well as the source of payment that showed the vendor I paid for. I understand there will be no breakdown charges, etc. However, the copy that I got was some disorganized items on a piece of paper without the source of payment and it looked like a printout that came out of a 1980's printer - my doubletree stay paid through a 3rd vendor can do a better job that Hilton Chicago! When called in and asked to resend the receipt, they promised to send via email but after a 3rd try I had to give up as I never receive their emails. What a shame and I will never stay with this hotel again.

Beautiful building with old style charm. Staff very helpful and friendly. Loved the Bar in hotel with over 100 Irish whiskies. Great place to meet with spacious conference rooms or all sizes.

I used the Hilton's services for a conference and while in the hotel I had a great experience. The location is right on Michigan Ave. near the Chicago Art and Theatre districts and is near Grant Park. The service was excellent and the staff was very kind and prompt.

In the double rooms are two separate beds for two people, which is a pity when traveling with his partner. The first impression was otherwise okay, on closer look unfortunately not very clean ... Especially in the bathroom were hair on the floor and on the toilet seat, which does not speak for a good hygiene. The service at the front desk for very accommodating! We apologized for the inconvenience and were upgraded ... A slightly larger room overlooking the lake. But unfortunately also separate beds.

Such an amazing hotel. The room service was amazing. The view from our room was great. The only downside is a business convention was going on and lollapalooza so just don t come during the first week of August but otherwise this is the only hotel you should want to stay at. So worth the price! And there s a restaurant and stores on the inside of the place !

I stayed here this past week for a few days for business. Check-in was fast and easy. They had me down for 2 Queen beds, which was a mistake, though the check-in lady quickly fixed and was able to get a king size bed. Big thanks.

The room was clean and decent sized. Not much of a view, but I was here for work. I was on the 23rd floor which was very quiet, and away from the noise of the lower levels and the conference that was there.

There are a few nice restaurants in the Hotel. Definitely recommend Kitty OSheas.

Checkout was efficient. Even though the hotel is a bit older, and has its charm and is clean. Would definitely stay here again.

The location is the best, the rooms are big enough have two bathrooms, which is super cool and being such a big and famous hotel makes it the ideal place for hosting events and conferences. So it's always dinamic, but you feel comfortable. Just behind the hotel there's one famous blues club, which makes the experience even better

Got to hotel at 730 at night and still had to wait for rooms to be cleaned out. Hilton was kind enough to give us a voucher for up to $30 for any food vendor attached to the hotel. Even after dinner an hour later the room was still not ready. However Hilton was kind enough still to upgrade the room to one that was ready. So rocky start, but decent overall.

While going to our room the bellhop gave us a brief history lesson on the property which personally I enjoyed. The rooms are very spacious and kept clean. We ventured down to the restaurant later in the evening where the drinks and food did not disappoint!

As far as the hotel itself it was a beautiful structure inside and out. When we first got there the room seemed fine but that first night, the panel that covered the housing for the heater fell to the ground. I immediately called the front desk to see about getting maintenance there to get it fixed and the lady who answered the phone was very nice and said they would send someone right up. We waited all night and nobody showed up. the next day we went out to breakfast and came back and the chair was still propping the panel up. I called again and they said they would have someone come up, again, nobody showed up. we went out for the afternoon and to our show thinking that maybe someone would come while we were gone, but when we got back the panel was still being propped up. We were checking out on Sunday and so I called first thing in the morning and told them that I had called each day we were there and that we had to check out by 11 and didn't want them to think we did it and they said they would have someone come up. We finally had a guy come to the room at 10:30AM and all he did was tighten the bolts to secure to the wall. For the price that you pay for these hotels you expect that when something happens, it is taken care of right away. We also experienced quite a bit of hair in our bathrooms ( mostly tub ). We also ordered room service on Saturday night and no where on the menus or anywhere did it mention charges for delivery, gratuity and tax. There needs to be fine print that discloses that information. so a meal that should have only cost $28 came to be $51. I know the city is expensive but for these "upscale" hotels like the Hilton, I expected a better experience.

The location was great. The service could be improved. The people were not very personable and almost gave off the feeling of anger or annoyance. The valet people were downright rude if you were not leaving your car there and utilizing their services. The rooms were ok but nothing special.
