Really nice rooms and view of the city. The architecture is quite something as well! Would definitely recommend. Parking is a bit expensive though.
It was a fairly nice hotel though the bathroom had a slight urine smell.
is this place the same as in the movie "the fugitive"?
Food is expensive. Slightly warmer than preferred. Elevator takes a ridiculous amount of time.
This hotel is very nice and in a good location. I got a room upgrade when I checked in and got complimentary full gym access and high speed internet.
Very nice. Typical of what you'd expect of a Hilton. WiFi was slow though
I rather enjoy the Hilton Chicago. The location next to Grant Park, south of the Loop is fantastic. I appreciate how close the hotel is to the Field Museum, the Magnificent Mile, and the Red Line. The hotel rooms were recently renovated and are comfortable. I do however wish there was an option for non-down (foam) bedding).
Rooms were clean and spacious, staff was friendly, great experience.
Location is very convenient and the Irish Pub is its saving grace. When you enter main rooms you can smell the cigarettes from years past. Bathrooms are very small while there are walk-in closets. The elevators run very ruggedly.
Great location, great staff. Two bathrooms in my room! Whaaaaaaat
Beautiful hotel, lots of rooms and fast wifi. Clean and would absolutely return.
I was upgraded for my status and the room was perfect and clean. Recommended
Absolutely beautiful facility and views, staff are polite and impeccably professional.
Clean, good security and near public transportation and restaurants.
It's a cool historic hotel in a nice location, across from the park and the lake. Room was dusty, but large. Small bathroom. AC could have gotten colder. Wish they didn't get rid of the executive lounge.
This place has nice lackview rooms. Cleanliness is awesome , also it has couple of inhouse pubs along with opera house. However, i didn't like the service and the overall mindset to charge amount to customer on everything. For example ...they charge 15 doller for a universal adapter to connect ur charger. I hv seen many places which gives it for free...n thy hardly cares for it. Also, the breakfast charges are too inflated as per the variety of breakfast dishes served. Overall it was not the best place i hv stayed.
The hotel was hours late with assigning me a clean room. Also, food trays were left out in the hall 24hrs-48hrs after I had called and complained about pickup 2-3 times. Nasty! I won t stay here again.
Rooms were a bit dated but the lobby, location and staff were all nice.
Room was huge and had two bathrooms. Looks like it was fairly modern inside for an older hotel. Building itself is huge and is a city within the city.
Car broke down in the parking garage, the staff could not of been more helpful
I love this hotel! Breakfast restaurant downstairs is great.
They ruined my husband and my anniversary. You expect the best with the Hilton name, but they are equivalent to a motel 6 if not less. We paid for an early (noon) check in, but our room wasn't ready even though we planned more than 2 weeks ahead. We decided to give them time thinking that our room would be amazing for the $300+ we are spending. We were told we would get a call when the room was ready and our bags would be brought to our room, but never got that call even 4 hours later. Once we got a room that was to be a lake view we first had to call and have them find our bags. Then we noticed the room was so dingy it should not be available to anyone. The view was a single hung window and it was so dirty you could barely see through it. The bathroom had rusted soap shelves and Kleenex holder that used to be brass. The tub had a very bad bondo job at the bottom of the valve. The bed felt so tough and the frame rocked like it was on its last leg. The pillows were 4 tiny throw pillows that should have been on a couch, but put in a king size bed. I could not believe how filthy this room is. We decided you leave because no-one deserves this and they wouldn't refundrour money and let us leave. The lady at the front desk was so cold and unfriendly that I would have paid to leave this place. She, in the end, gave us a "junior suite" to try out after hearing the complaints that she had only excuses for. The new or "remodeled" room as the front desk person called it was better and cleaner. The room still had minor mistakes when it came to completion, but still not worth the $300+ that my husband and I were spending. Our do not disturb card was on the door, but we still got bothered by the maid well before checkout time. These people do not care about cleanliness, being courteous, or their presentation at all. We will never go anywhere near this place out an affiliate again. We wait to get away from this filth an engineer in it. Hilton thank you for ruining my anniversary! I hope you go down in flames!
Historic hotel, awesome amenities, nice updates, a great hotel overall :)
Beautiful hotel they have updated this Hotel it looks modern now
historic hotel . great rooms and service. only problem is air conditioning in winter if somehow the weather gets warm
Lacking the amenities of some other hilton hotels but great location and building. Breakfast is limited for hhonours gold members, offered only in the executive lounge
Went for an expo in the lower level. Hotel was clean and nice
Great hotel with excellent views of the park and the lake. Room sizes are fine. Bed is very comfortable. The Irish pub on the ground floor is excellent especially the live music. Parking can he done close by with ample selections on offer. Couple of improvement point:
- house keeping didn't make up my room on 2 days of my 5 night stay
- TV reception was patchy
We bought food at Herb N Kitchen inside the hotel and charged it to the room. They gave us a piece of paper to write the room and name on it (it did not have itemized receipt). Upon checkout, I noticed the amount for the food was higher than it should have been. Turned out that the Herb N Kitchen charged additional items on our room which we did not buy. The hotel staff would not refund us the amount because they said we signed the receipt. Ok, this staff will obviously not go out of their way to rectify the situation. I am spending my future stays in hotels where the staff will go out of their way to make you feel welcome. This hotel is not one of them.
Not really like it. The rooms are small and the cleansing had so many areas for improvement. There are better options for the same price.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE
The first floor and common areas were nice. In a good location but still pretty south of all the shopping and restaurants.
However in our room (room 561) the wall paper was peeling off the walls, the bathroom fan didnt vent air out, and the drain was clogged so water would be halfway up your calf by the time you were done showering. Next time i will be staying at the westin.
Great rooms, friendly staff. Was situated at the back of the hotel where you could hear the train go by - not terribly loud but just enough to wake you from time to time. Next time I'd spend the extra and get a park view room.
Nearly 300 per night and no free wifi or a frig? 2 water glasses. Nice but you get more at an Americinn.
Payed extra for an execute level room and found they removed exec lounge. At check-in they claimed I would get $20/night food credit, but after checkout claimed I wasn't eligible. Argued my case and they credited me, but headache. Otherwise nice hotel. I'll go back just no reason for "executive" floors.
All was pretty good except for the abnormal amount of spiders outside the windows. The windows even have signs warning you about it. This is not just a Hilton thing we noticed it on the observatory deck on the Willis Tower too! That's 100+ stories in the air!? Why such pesky spiders?
I was here for new year! let me start by saying your money can be better in another hotel and nicer, seriously don t waisted here is not worth it. The stuff and I mean the security was very poorly treated me bad. The hotel room can definitely use a remodeling my room was dirty so we have to switch to another and had to pay 50 on top of that. Like seriously NOt worth it I will definitely never coming back
A beautiful place to stay. Everything was perfect. The view, the room and the staff. Lovely. B
Comfortable large rooms. Very reasonable prices for the location. Pretty quiet for how large it is. Close walk to the L but not so close that the train will keep you up at night. Big downside was we paid for a king bed but they ran out of them and only had two doubles available. But that same setup was nice for my cousin, his wife and two kids to make for an economical stay.
Without the name it could be an old Motel 6 or hourly motel. I will never stay here again. No shuttle to or from the airport. No hot breakfast / Continental is even offered... Customer service leaves MUCH to be desired for the prices the hilton charges (notice it is in lowercase..lol) I've traveled all over these lower 48 and never have I been so disappointed.
Nice hotel and close to various attractions. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Rooms were clean and housekeeping did good job restocking towels and such and cleaning the room daily.
Food related ... Pub style restaurant was ok although service was a little slow. Bar area with various food was a little quieter than the pub but would have to say both seemed a little expensive for service provided.
There are several places near the hotel to eat but would have preferred the food and service to be more inline with hotel service.
Good location, the bar is very good, but the rooms are very old or maybe a more conservative style although I think it smells a little dusty.
Been staying at Hilton properties since 1999 because their personnel are ALWAYS guest friendly. Hilton Chicago is close to most of the venues my family and I attend/visit!!
It's OK if you don't have hilton status. If you do try to find somewhere else to stay
Clearly a world class place. My wife and I just visited and we loved the ambiance and location. But we were REALLY put-off by the MASSIVE events they had every night, and the major congestion of bodies in the lobby. And for whatever reason, it felt like people had absolutely ZERO spatial awareness, and we were constantly getting bumped into, or needing to say "excuse me" as people stop to chat while blocking the elevators.
Last, I used the HILTON app to pre-order wine and apps to be in our room upon arrival, plus order extra pillows, robes, etc. None of it was there, no manager seemed to care, nobody could track the request, etc. We eventually got it worked out, and it didn't absolutely ruin the stay.... But if you are going to offer amenities on your app, you better be able to fulfill it (or at least feign an apology when you don't).
Close to downtown and lake awesome location and very comfortable room.
Great rates at a great location in Chicago! the Service at the Hilton has always been top notch and we love coming here to stay for both business and pleasure! thanks for a great stay!
Went to Kitty O'Shea's before the Ireland/New Zealand rugby match with friends. Great little bar with friendly staff. They were a little overwhelmed by everyone and drinks were expensive (albeit average for Chicago), but we had a good time and I'd go back on my next trip.
Excellent location. Large capacity of the rooms and an excellent cost / benefit ratio
Perfect location, perfect accomodation. I stay with Hilton often, and the Chicago location is one of my favorites. The price is in line with the competition, the location is unbratable, and I earn points with Hilton. The staff is very friendly and respectful...the concierge even recognized me from the last time I stayed...Its a great experience to be sure.
Big hotel without atmosphere and staff not friendly
Nice meeting space. Plenty of room for the conference.
Amazing hotel staff from valet, bellman, front desk, f&b, brand ambassador, concierge, pbx, etc. Didn't expect this from a 1500+ room hotel. But they nailed it. This comes from a 10+ year hotel employee. Every time there was an issue, they were quick to resolve. The property itself was very clean and aesthetically pristine. What an accomplishment for such a large property. Kudos to Hilton.
We prepped for my sister's wedding here - beautiful environment, especially for photos!
A lot of the two bed rooms also have two bathrooms. Strange but convenient for a hotel. Worked great for the convention I attended in the hotel.
Customer service is outstanding, staff is always helpful when you are lost.
Worst luxury hotel my wife and I have ever stayed in.
Room was 78F when we arrived and was told it will cool down soon. After 30 mins still same temp. Found both heaters on max.
Dirty towels hanging from shower rod.
Fridge that didn't work. Pile of dirty dishes outside room for more than 24 hours that were there when we arrived.
Location is great and in hotel dining was decent.
Some of the staff were rude and didn't clean up after themselves.
Great view of Lake Michigan. Updated hotel that is conveniently located for most attractions that bring people to Chicago.
Like all Chicago hotels, it is pricey but the breakfast is awesome.
The staff at registration was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and modern looking. Hallways and elevators were very clean. Beds are very comfortable. Free WiFi was nice. Food in cafeteria in the lobby was a little overpriced, as were the parking rates.
Staff was very helpful on a weekend as busy as the Blackhawks convention.
Nice place they nickel and dime you for everything.
My husband and I stopped by to get Blackdog Gelato.
Great location, great facility. Went to a foundation event there. The Ballroom was gorgeous. Such a nice, classic facility. Also has Kitty O'Shea's Irish Pub, a Chicago classic before Bears games and Grant Park events.
So far so good!
Easy, friendly check-in. Clean, pleasant room. Not such a fan of white bedding, but fits the "clean" look.
The Herb n' Kitchen was good for late night snacks, but a little pricey.
Pool was clean, but a little crowded so we passed.
We intend to stay again for another visit!
