Our older F150 broke down on I-5 near Woodburn and we asked the tow truck driver to take us to the nearest Ford dealer, which happened to be Hillyer's Mid-City Ford. We were greeted by the Service Manager Alex, who had our pick-up looked at immediately and evaluated. The spark plug had blown out of the head and while there was a possibility of repairing the threads, before spending money on the old rig we decided to see what they had for sale.
Daisy Vargas was our sales person and did a great job. She showed us vehicles in our price range and we test drove a couple of them. There was no pressure to upsell or spend beyond our comfort level. We decided on a 2016 F150 4X4 Sport, but noticed the doors sometimes did not want to latch. Alex ran it through the Ford data-base and found a TSB (technical service bulletin) that required new door latches. Alex had the parts delivered overnight and the next morning when parts arrived, had two technicians working on our new pickup and quickly had us on the road home.
Owner Brandon Hillyard, Service Manager Alex, F&I Manager Rudy, Sales Person Daisy and all the other staff were attentive, concerned and friendly. If we had to break down somewhere, we're glad it was near this dealership. And we love our new to us 2016 F150!

I am 28 and tech savy and needed some help activating the Bluetooth in my truck to quickly access the media menu without going through all the menu options. George quickly told me how to do it and in less than 5 minutes my problem was solved and I was on my way. Skyline told me I needed to make and appointment... no, I just needed 5 mins of your time. I made an appointment after researching a problem I was having with the door latch on my Ford Flex saying the door was ajar when it was in fact latched. Since I have the Ford Care extended warranty, I thought this would be a painless experience and sent my wife to take care of it. They spent three hours of her time to try and weasel out of replacing the faulty door latch and attempted to sell her a door seal instead...a part not covered by the warranty. I called during their attempts at diagnosis and was blown off by their technician. The second time I called, I was given the runaround by the service manager. Fed up, I ordered the door latch myself online (for less than the $100 deductible it would have cost otherwise) and replaced it myself. Guess what? PROBLEM SOLVED. I ll never go to another Hillyers dealership again. Too many decent competitors in the mid-valley to be treated that way again.

I took my car in for a recall notice regarding the door latches not working properly. Nothing too big, and I also asked them to check the headlights because they seemed a lot dimmer and I was having trouble seeing in the dark. I called another Ford dealership in order to see who could get it done faster. I drive for a living, so seeing in night can literally be the difference between life and death. According to them, they opened and closed the hood and they started working properly. I was told standard inspections occur during recall notices as well by Canby Ford when seeing who could get me in sooner. I never received any sort of information regarding the inspection. I told them I was willing to pay the 300$ quote, but to call me when they actually inspected it because money is tight during COVID. It was taking longer than expected, about 4.5 hours instead of the 3 quoted. I finally called them and they said it was done. To add injury, they gave me a car for the day. They didn't give it to me with a full tank, and I drove it about 3 miles. I ended up putting in 17-20$ for gas, because they asked I return it with a full tank. As a dealership that offers service, I expect it to be done right and be done well. Since I drive so much, I came here for the headlights to be done both right and well, because if they are authorized to do recalls, fixing headlights shouldn't be a problem. Instead of fixing it or inspecting it, they simply said closing the hood fixed it. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. They cannot be trusted to work in an honest way with integrity. No one should have to drive at night fearing for their safety because a company wants to skip corners. And this company did that in every way imaginable.

Went in because Hillyer's was the only place in Oregon that had the car we wanted (2019 Mustang GT California Special). Had not so great experiences at other local Ford Dealership (Skyline Ford). Jorge on the sales floor was pretty great to work with. After looking at the car and trying to decide we ended up leaving. I have been working the graveyard shift so I was pretty tired. Jorge was very kind and did not try to pressure us, he also acknowledged the schedule I was working and refrained from calling while I would be sleeping.
Between Jorge and Rudy over the next several days back and forth (because we couldn't make up our minds, no reflection on the dealership here) we finally decided ok, this is the car lets do it.
Once we made the decision everything was really quick. We showed up at the dealership and shortly after drove off with a brand new pony.
These folks treated us well and thanked me for my service.

I walked to the restrooms, I went to the show room, I tried out their coffee and snack area , I spent about 15 minutes in the building and no one greeted me or took notice I was there. Went to inquire about a recreational vehicle .. I went out and sat in my truck for another 10 minutes .. never approached or offered an opportunity to be a customer. Wow that's all I can say WOW!!

I didn't end up buying my truck there, but Jorge was great to work with, answered all my questions, and they were not pushy at all. At the end of the day the pickup they had didn't make sense for exactly what I needed so we couldn't quite come together on price. There were no high pressure tactics, they didn't do any of the usual tricks other dealers do like hold your trade in or dl hostage while they try to make the hard sell. They didn't come charging out the door trying to make a last minute squeeze. I'd come back again.

Not only did they get me the best deal around, they also took extra special care of my car and made sure it came out looking just the way I wanted. Both the tires and wheels arrived when they said they would and they were mounted and balanced in no time. It was the most fluid process I have ever experienced at a dealership. The sales manager screamed "Don't ever come back, unless I call you! You are not welcome at this dealership, you wasted my time". I couldn't believe it and neither could the young sales staff witnessing his outburst when they heard those words uttered by Bill Gallagher, the sales manager for Hillyer Ford in Woodburn, Oregon.
I've rated Hillyer a "1" because I cannot go any lower. Sadly businesses can pay people for higher ratings and it's the only explanation for the 3.9 they have currently. All I can say is read the reviews with actual content.
My 19 year-old son attempted to purchase a used car at Hillyer. He picked one out, was assured it was a great car, paid CASH for it, and within 100 miles it threw a check engine light. Hillyer's highly skilled mechanics couldn't identify the problem so they sent the car to the Acura dealership in Beaverton where it was diagnosed as a transmission problem. Bill Gallagher offered to have the dealership pay half of the repair until the owner said "Why are we even selling this car, it doesn't meet our standard for being on the lot. I don't want to sell it, give them their money back." The decision to put the car on the lot was made by Bill Gallagher.
At first blush this seemed very customer oriented until my son picked out another used car which again we were assured was checked out completely by the service department and within 20 miles it threw a check engine light. This time it was for the gas pedal.
Bill blamed the problem on my son because when my son was setting the second preset for the radio the battery died, this is after only 5 minutes of being in accessory mode. Personally, I have a hard time understanding how you jump from a dead battery triggering a check engine light for the gas pedal.
Understandably my son lost confidence with the idea of buying locally from a purportedly reputable dealer. Don't go to Hillyer's unless you are looking for customer abuse!
Sadly this isn't the end of the story. The second used vehicle cost more than the cash my son had, so he applied for financing (before the check engine light issue). Mike, one of the Hillyer sales guys, submitted the paperwork incorrectly, was given a verbal approval and ten days later my son received a decline on financing because of the incorrect information. I even told Mike it was a mistake and he assured me he was submitting the information properly.
My son put cash down of almost $4000.00 and it took over 6 weeks to get our refund and then only because of my diligence in pursuing the current status of the title request with the DMV. 6 weeks while they had possession of both cars and my son's money.
It's sad the lowest rating Google offers is a "1" because at Hillyers a "1" is overrated. You may see a 3.9 on Google, but sadly these numbers can be easily influenced by a bunch of "paid" raters!
This isn't the end. This information has been provided to the Oregon Attorney General, Ford Customer Service, the Better Business Bureau and the owner of the dealership.
All I can say is go to Hillyer's at your own risk and read the other reviews on Google, Facebook and Yelp.

My car was having problems on the freeway and so I pulled off the freeway and spotted the Hillyars Ford Dealership, the car barely made it to their parking lot when the car stopped running. I was on my way to my brother-in-laws wedding with 3 kids in the car. They gave the kids water, popcorn, and when they found out my dodge car (soon to be traded in for a ford) was under warranty and needed to be fixed at the dodge dealership, they still let me keep their courtesy car to get to the wedding. Not just any courtesy car--- a new ford convertible neon green mustang. My kids eyes were so big and excited when we got in the mustang. My 4 year old cant stop talking about riding in a race car.. Talk about customer service! I recommend them to anyone because they have the BEST service dept.

I m confused why you would respond to this post with a lie. I called Jorge and talked with him Thursday night and said I d like to buy it and asked what the next steps were. He said they were fixing the windshield so I d have to wait to Monday to pick it up, and to call my bank and have them get financing prepared, which I did immediately. He never sent me one email besides the purchase order. That is an absolute lie. Unbelievable. I just double checked my email and spam folder. The wonderful service employees just installed a pigtail for my 06 F-150's rear tail light. I called as soon as they opened today (9am) and the parts employee told me they would have the part in by that same afternoon. Sure enough at 12:49 they called to tell me it was in. Drove down and got there about 2pm had the part installed and my blinker/tail light/brake light working again before 3pm. Excellent service. Will recommend to anyone I know in the area.

We took the boat to an independent dealer, their mechanic figured it out in 30 minutes. It's been over three months and the boat hasn't yet been repaired! Very disappointed and frustrated in how this has been handled.

I took my truck to Hillyers Mid City rFord to fix my A/C after spending lots of money at a Ford dealership in Newport, OR. After working on my A/C twice, and charging me each time, my A/C still didn't work. They found the problem immediately. Turned out to be some loose wires on the clip connection and a bad sensor. Not only did they fix the problem, but they got the other Ford dealership to pay for it. I also had a problem with a noise coming from my fan belt, which they also diagnosed and fixed. Alex, my service advisor, was superb. He is an excellent employee, and I'm sure the dealership knows he is an asset to them.
I would recommend you take your vehicle to them for all your service needs.

I am a Portland resident and have been fed up with the lack of customer service provided by the big dealerships in the greater metro area. Thank you to Alex and Javier! I pulled up in my 1998 ford exlorer sport. I had no appointment, but Alex listened to my problem and walked out to my truck popped the hood and took all of 30 seconds to spot the problem. They did not have the replacement part on hand but had it in 30 minutes took a few minutes swapped the part and verified that everything was working and sent me on my way. They have renewed my faith that there are still places out there that care about customer service than making an extra buck. It is a pleasent drive out of the city and they are right off of the freeway. It is well worth your time to drive out here for the total attention to detail and customer service.
