I feel they pulled a sneaky billing move on me - I stayed as a day guest at the Harrison Hot Springs Resort and Spa, and am quite angry at what I feel are sneaky business practices at the spa for offering me a product without telling me it would cost extra.

My partner and I had originally booked together a reflexology massage on Dec 12. When we arrived the next day, Dec 13, they offered us a couples room, which we accepted. Well, it turns out the couples room was actually more expensive than the original reflexology massage.

Not only that, when I called back to ask for a refund, their response was that their supervisor would call back. They did not call back. I called back an hour later, and her supervisor said her manager would call back. The manager did not call back.

I also asked the supervisor to provide me a refund, but she told me only the manager could, and was not there (which sounds ridiculous to me, because the majority of visitors are from out of town; so does that mean all visitors would not be able to receive a refund on the spot?).

When a business offers a customer something of immaterial value (in this case, a shared room instead of separate rooms), it should be told to the customer that this is an upgrade and cost extra (I feel this is like if a coffee shop asked if I wanted milk and sugar, but charged me a dollar for both when settling my bill).

I don't even care that it is only a 10 dollar difference; the point was I came to have a relaxing experience, and which I was willing to pay a premium for; yet, this terrible experience ruined my the rest of my vacation.

I could have stayed in Vancouver and gotten a foot massage for $40 AND a positive experience. Instead, I paid for an overpriced massage which greatly soured my vacation.

Overall, a very negative experience at the Resort and Spa.

If I were to be forced to do this all over again, I would skip the spa, just use the pool, and demand an invoice for anything you pay for.

The rooms were good. The hot springs were nice. The indoor relaxation pool was my favorite. There isn't really a ton of supervision in the springs which has pros and cons. I like not being nagged but at the same time you can't expect everyone to adhere to the rules. It was a little crowded and there wasn't much else to do in Harrison. The tea time was fun they even had a gluten free cookie option. Nothing was over the top fancy but the staff is friendly and I had pretty good experience while I was there.

Wow! My wife and I arrived at the resort to have dinner and dancing in the Copper Room for our wedding anniversary. We arrived at the front entrance to be told by the valet that he could park the car for $14 or we could park it ourselves in the lot. He also told us he wasn't sure how much it was in the self-parking lot, which I found hard to believe. Let me inform him now, it is $5.00 PER HOUR to park in a self parking lot in Harrison Hot Springs. Are you kidding me? This is not downtown Vancouver, with all due respect to the folks who live there, it is still a small town far removed from a major urban area so my first instinct is the resort is ripping me off with parking.
To be fair, re the evening, the music was great, the waiters were friendly, however the entrees were way over priced, and mediocre at best. C'mon folks, you can do better than that, get your parking rates in line with reality and if you are going to charge that much for entrees in the Copper Room, then make them memorable... we were very disappointed and will never return and we intend to share this experience with all our friends

We loved our stay ! The spa was absolutely heavenly, highly recommend it. The springs are so peaceful . We had a lovely dinner in the copper room and the service was excellent , the band was very entertaining , all in all, I would definitely tell all my friends to stay here . And we will definitely be back

Hotel itself is a bit old, but everything else is great. Hot springs are the perfect temperature, with an adult pool and a family pool. The bartender in the lobby area was very friendly and makes a strong drink. The breakfast was probably the best hotel breakfast I've had.

The rooms are outdated and the braker kept tripping when the hairdryer was on. There was also a stuffy smell in the room, which may be due to the location of the resort. However, the cleanliness was maintained in the rooms and the pools were relaxing. Even in the cold weather, the water was very comfortable. The highlight of the resort is the friendly staff who truly provide exceptional customer service. Will definitely recommend.

For $50 a night it was great. You can access the pool free if you're a guest at the hotel but if you're a visitor you pay only a few bucks. The hot springs are open from 8 am to 11 pm everyday. It's also kid friendly.

So the check in process was a one star.
-Room wasn't ready at check in time
-No luggage cart
-Nowhere to store things while we wait (we had a puppy and crate and my mother with a walker and mobility issues and luggage). The front desk woman wouldn't even let us leave the items inside
-Extremely rude woman who had no solutions
-No indication of how long it would be until the room was ready
-I took my mom to the pool while my friend waited with the puppy (dogs aren't allowed in the pool area) and our stuff outside. It was about to rain but luckily didn't.

Room was 4 stars
Check in happened just before 4:30pm. We had to lug the dog crate because there isn't a luggage cart but the room was nice and the beds and bedding were really comfortable with a nice view of the mountains. We were in the East Tower which is away from the pool and nice and quiet. There was no toilet paper though and only enough coffee for two people (there are 3 of us) so we had some things to do once arriving in the room. The hallway also oddly smelled like B.O.

When we called in the morning to ask for milk they rudely said to go get it at the cafe (I don't mean the suggestion was rude but the woman sure was) so my mom with vision and mobility issues went to get some.

The hot spring pools are nice but the kids are very loud and the adult pool is not that far from the kids pool. I also think they should have somewhere to get water at the pools.

I understand that COVID is causing issues but all I'm asking is for people to be helpful and kind about it. Saying I don't know when the room is ready and you can't leave your stuff in here is not helpful.

There is no late check-out by the way and guests must be out of the pools by 1pm and out of the parking by 1:30pm. There was mixed information on parking but I think it's $12/day although valet spots may be free as there is no valet right now? You must register with the hotel. I parked for free about a block away as I didn't know we had to be out of the pools at 1pm at the time and didn't want to worry about moving my car by 1:30pm.

I hear the new owners are a bit stingy plus COVID so just go in with low expectations and you will be fine. We figured for the cost that it would have better service and amenities but nope. You are paying for the hot springs and name not the experience sadly. We have stayed here in the past and were never dissapointed so different times.

Rude staff, over priced rooms. The girl at the desk double charged us at check out then proceeded to make us feel like liars even though I had proof from my bank. Huge line ups during check in and witnessed the front desk girl treat an elderly man poorly after they messed up his reservation. They didnt offer any compensation or credit for the terrible experience. Will never return.

This place is wonderful. We can't wait to return. It was our first time for Valentine's weekend. There was snow on the ground and the lake was frozen around the shore, which just made everything so beautiful. The healing springs are wonderful. They have 3 outside, an adult pool, family pool and kid pool. All shallow, like sitting in a hot tub. The family pool area was our favorite one, even though we didn't have any kids with us. Soaking under the night sky was amazing. Then they have 2 indoor, one is hotter and considered the hot tub and then a pool that ranges from 4.5 ft to 8 ft deep and is cooler. They also have the spa. Which we had a couple's massage and absolutely loved it. Everyone their was so friendly. We stayed 3 nights and never left the resort. Just enjoyed our time there. The first night we stayed in a king suite in the west tower which was nice and very close to the mineral pools. Then we moved to the east wing on the 6th floor and that was beyond spectacular. We had a lake view that was amazing. The only complaint that I have is the constant smell of pot whenever your near any doors. That was extremely disappointing. The first night was the worst as they had some conference going on. We tried to enjoy a glass of wine and the night sky from the balcony in our room and it was constant smell of pot. Disappointing. It's fine if others do that stuff, but it's wrong when it is impacting others and extremely disrespectful.

Kind of a letdown saw the start of the hot springs originate and then it goes to the hotel so not for public use I was hoping to be able to sit in the hot springs without having to rent a room

We stayed in a beautiful lake view room for two nights. We thoroughly enjoyed waking up to an incredible view and using all the resort amenities. The hot pools were awesome and really relaxing. Great close by getaway to relax.

Friendly staff, when you can get a hold of them.
Arrived half hour ahead of check in time, and was told to wait at guest services desk to see if our Cottage was ready. The Guest services desk already had a line formed, but random guests were just arriving at the desk from all sides. The one Staff member manning the desk would just take requests from anyone who was loud enough to get her attention, so the 5 or 6 families waiting in the designated line were passed over several times.
After getting to the front (half hour in line) , we were told that our room was not available yet and they would call us when it was. At 5 o'clock (1 hour past check in time) with kids tired of waiting in the lobby, we again braved the guest services line where they gave us our keys after apparently forgetting to call us to let us know they were ready.
The Cottages are very nice, and the pools and hot tubs in the back are awesome, but each and everytime we called to the front desk, the phone just rang and rang with no one picking up.

I have been coming here since I was a little kid. The quality of this resort has been slowly going downhill for a long time, but the customer service has always been good until this visit. The room was dirty (Including toenail clippings on the floor and the ice bucket had been used for popcorn). There were guests who were drinking alcohol, smoking, and playing loud music at the adult pool late at night. When we asked for it to be dealt with we were told it would be but they did nothing. Once the pool closed at 11 pm these drunken guests went running through the halls screaming at each other and slamming doors. This went on until 3 am. Needless to say I didn't get much sleep.

The place for special occasion family dinners and week long family retreats. Lakeside dining room excellent value changing menu buffets during holidays and one of the best restaurants for brunch with a view. The only hotel with hot springs pools a shame they don't face the lake but thankful for adult only pool and beautiful spa.

While it's somewhat dated, it has that old school resort feel, I like the facility. The front desk is horrible, they will argue with you and lie. We waited over 3 hours after checking in to be able to go to our room. The cleaning and wait staff are excellent! Perhaps they should be running the place.

Very loud with partying teenagers on Friday and Saturday nights. It's basically party central and the walls are very thin. Pool area is nice but sometimes not all that clean and there is never any staff around.

We love to go to the Harrison Hot Springs Resort! It s a nice quick get away from the Sunshine Coast. We enjoy the drive there. We ve gone for family get always. Had Christmas break there with my folks. I have girl friend get always. We went for a couple days with friends, each family staying in one of the cabins! Fun! I love the hot springs. And we love to sit and read in front of the big fireplace in the lobby. A dinner at The Copper Room is always enjoyable. Food is great, music is awesome and at times we ve lucked into a dance group there so watch good ballroom dancing. Yup this is our favourite quick get away.

As expected, this hotel has aged. While we we were happy to get a room short notice, the hotel was hopelessely outbooked. We waited over an hour for our room to be ready (after it had been 4 pm already). The room was fine, clean, however far from modern.
We only came here because of the springs, and were a bit disappointed. I mean, it was just hot water pools. Full of guests with beverages and stuff.

We didn't use any of the gastronomy.

My wife and I, we stayed one night in East building in a King room with balcony. Room was nice with great view. Resort location is awesome. Pools are nice. We had a dinner at Coper Room restaurant (the luxury one) which had a band. It was pricy but food quality and service was good. However, we experienced:
1. Both elevators in East building were out of order. We had to use service elevator which was at end of the building, dirty and noisy.
2. Two vending machines in the first floor was out of order!
3. Both men s and women s lockers in indoor pool was dirty with too many towels on the floor, several used coffee cups and disgusting rest rooms.
4. There is a small steam room with no eucalyptus, no bucket for water.

6. That was not any bar or food at the pools.
7. Our room fan was too noisy so I had to turn it off. We were lucky that weather was not that cold.
It looks like, hotel management needs to do a better job about above items. They have not taken care of the building and facilities (although pools are in good shape and clean).

Loved the pools and Healing Spa but would not stay in room 344 in old section again had double bed, no air conditioner. Room right beside building air conditioner loud kept us a wake. Willing to stay in other parts of hotel

We made reservation but still had to wait over an hour our room to be ready. They did absolutely nothing about it and they were so rude. When I asked them how long it's gonna take they said they don't know. They told me there is nothing they can do except me to wait. Poor service!!! Very poor. Never gonna come again.

Only gets a 3 due to really small change rooms which only had 1 bathroom and 1 shower. For a resort as big as it is servicing both hotel guest which I know could go to their rooms to change, they should have better amenities for the day guests too. Very hard to change in the cramped space. Pools were great. Quiet pool was not quiet at all. Spa and massage itself was very good. Would have been nice to change first in a separate room before the massage instead of dragging stuff into the cramped tiny change room. Linda, the masseuse was incredible tho. Gave a mini intuitive reading which was an unexpected bonus.

I've been here twice and I love it. This is a great escape from Seattle, even just for a weekend. The adult pool is like a giant hot tub and the food there is decent. There is only one trail that is nearby for hiking and it's about a two hour hike, roundtrip, but easy and relaxing. This place gets busy and packed during the summer time, so book in advance. Staff is super nice. The walls are thin and you can hear through the vents, so expect to hear some "noises" throughout the evening...

It is an old resort but I liked their every effort that trying to make it better for the guests. They have free cookies and Tea time at 4-4:30pm during our stay. Our kids loved the elephant tower in the next morning by the room service. Small pools are little bit boring for the children. But with nice friendly staff, and great view. I think we enjoyed our stay.

Harrison Hot Springs is fantastic, it's a great place for couples to come relax and reconnect and great for families to travel with kids. There are five pools of varying tempetures and a steam room to use, so there's something for everyone. The three outside pools remain open until 2300 for adults, and closes to kids at 2200, while the two inside pools and steam room are open until 0100. Afternoon tea and baked goods are provided in the common area which is really nice. My husband and I stayed in the oldest part of the hotel which didn't have air-conditioning but we opened the window and turned the fan on and were fine. There's restaurants in the hotel but if you feel like venturing out there's plenty of options within walking distance to the hotel including plenty of ice cream shops to chose from. We really enjoyed our time there and are already planning when we can go back!
