Hot springs pools are great. Rates are high for what you get. The room we stayed in could use some updating and smaller than what we had anticipated for our family
Hot springs pools are great. Rates are high for what you get. The room we stayed in could use some updating and smaller than what we had anticipated for our family
Recently booked a room, had to wait 3-4 hours to check in because the room wasn't ready. Checked in at 6:30 which is fine. Expect to pay $400/night. Beds were firm but this is standard. Beautiful area for sure.
We had a great stay at the Harrison hot springs resort. When we got to the hotel room, it was clean. However they forgot to give us our bath robes. It took a while to get some delivered to our room. However the pools are fantastic. Super incredible view and vibes. Great for kids and separate pool for adults is convenient. The indoor pool so are also great. The food offered at the hotel is also higher quality than most hotel restaurant food. Would recommend the pizza. Staff also are all very friendly and great. It's also worth noting that the menu for food is actually on the TV on channel 80. It took a while to figure that out. Overall a great place to stay a few night and enjoy the hot spring water pools.
First room we checked into had a fingernail on the ground, as well as a blue berry and what looked like spilled food on the carpet, doors were dirty as well as mirrors. Was very unimpressed. Only action was a room move, next room was at least cleaner however it s very dated and could use a Reno, no compensation not even free parking, definitely not coming back to this hotel.
Just came there for check the place out, it looks very nice inside and the rooms are cozy
The hot spring pools were well maintained, - indoor and outdoor. Rooms were clean and the service was good. My only gripe was that check-in was only allowed after 1PM.. As we'd driven 8 hours to get to the venue, I would've liked an earlier check-in. Instead we had to wait 3 hours in the car park.
Went for a work Christmas party. My company had paid for a dinner, breakfast and a room for a night. The food was delicious, they had a intresting spread with alot of variety in salads, cold cuts, meats and sides. The rooms and hotel was clean with a good atmosphere. The staff were professional friendly and helpful. But the best part of the hotel is the outdoor hot springs. There is nothing like relaxing when its really cold out and sitting in a hot spring. All in all a great overnight experiance.
Harrison Hot Springs marks a special place in our history. We spend a few nights here every few years as the hot springs around Christmas time can be breathtaking, especially when it's snowing outside and you're in the pools. Dinner time in the Copper room with a great meal, wine and dancing is also a must.
Finding the place was very easy, it's just at the end of the street. I parked out front for check in, and got my room key. There's a parking lot out back that's free of charge for guests of the hotel, and I saw them reimberse somebody who paid at the ticket booth because they weren't aware, very nice of them. My room was very clean and had several amenities (iron + ironing board, hair dryer and a mini fridge), I also got a free upgrade to a king size bed when I booked a double, not sure why but I don't mind! The pools were all nice, but I found myself spending most of my time in the indoor hot tub. All in all, a great experience and I can't wait to come back again.
We stayed in a pool walkout room. It was not cheap. Even though we loved the convienince of It, we felt for the price it was very dated! There was no "extras" from tje hotel.IMy family stayed in a cheaper room around the corner and their room was just as spacious and "newer than outs. The staff were excellent and very helpful.
This resort has better views than others; surrounded by massive mountains, and in front of beautiful Harrison lake. It has 4 natural pools for all age group and 1 adults only. Outdoor pools are usually filled with tree leaves. Lots of option to eat within as well outside the hotel on a 1 mile walking strip full with shops and restaurants. Tip- save on parking your car on the street, they charge for self parking which is not covered, nor secured by camera system.
Love the Hot Spring pools. And the buffet breakfast at the Lake view restaurant is a bit expensive but really good.
Waited an hour in a line up to check in only to be told our room isn't ready yet at 4:30?? Check in says 4! We are given keys to the pool. Great let's go to the pool with all our baggage! They didn't offer towels so we went to the pool looking for towels as every other resort in BC I've gone to has towels in the change area. So we waste time going back to check in area only to be caught in the huge line up AGAIN....forget it! We just gave up. By this time our bags are killing our shoulders and backs. We just wait for our room. By this time its after 5..we get to our room at the other end of the hotel only for the keys not to work after walking all the way there. Seriously? Now we are just frustrated and almost in tears from standing, and walking for so long with our bags. We go back to front desk AGAIN that lineup! We wasted so much time just trying to get into our room. We open the door and its NOT the room we booked. We call down only to have them argue with us and say there's nothing they can do. 5 minutes later the manager calls up to say this is what we booked! Um no we didnt. I have a screen shot on my phone of a room with balcony we requested with the price we paid, not a grungy old room with claustrophobic windows. She tells me to order the west or east tower next time. That's what we did!! So agitated by this time. Both ladies we spoke to were rude, spoke down to us with attitudes and unwilling to help..we specifically booked a room with a balcony to celebrate our wedding anniversary and so we picked a nicer room. This room we got was just gross, stained carpets and very out dated. The bed was extremely lumpy and both my husband and I woke up with back pain. This wasn't my first time at this Hotel so I'm quite familiar with the room types they offer. I also notice each time their staff has no obligation to have decent customer service! I've witnessed it while waiting it their line ups and when I've had inquiries myself. They dont care about service because people will come regardless. I had a conversation with another lady in the pool area with same issues regarding the service. I wasnt even offered an apology. Just excuses. Never have I had staff at a hotel argue with me. But then again, I've never seemed to have issues anywhere else. On a positive note, our dinner in the copper room was very good. The breakfast buffet is not worth the price however and the coffee was gross and the sugar had a chemical smell to it.
Very pleasant. Clean, nice facilities. Disappointed that parking isnt included, but its not clear in the ad that its extra cost.
Wonderful as usual. Had some issues with fridge and remote control. They were up on minutes and resolved both immediately.
Great service... Lots of quiet. We love it.
1. The good things: great location, spa-massages, outside pool (especially when it's snowing outside) and breakfasts. "The Black Forest" German restaurant nearby.
2.Things to improve: the PRICE. The hotel has a long lasting history, and it seems, feels and smells a little bit old. We had a very old room, the smell was funny and the air conditioning system was very simple (we paid for a romantic package that totaled $550/2 nights and were expecting to have a bit better room). No entertainment during winter time, only live music in a restaurant, that is not for young people. We really feel that we were charged twice more for the value we had.
3. The rooms service was just OK, the only trouble was the fact that is took at least 30minutes to get what you needed. We did not reserve any cooked food that had to take time to be prepared.
4. The hotel is mostly the best for people who's generation is: baby-boomers(late and early), families with kids etc. This is not the best choice for a romantic getaway(maybe only in the summer time)
5. Disability services: there are some "hidden" elevators that make the stay for people with mobility disabilities a little bit complicated, you need to look for them and ask for assistance to open the public doors at every entrance. It is very inconvenient.
6. Conclusion: this hotel has two options: to close next winter season for MAJOR re-engineering of the whole business or to drop off the prices to $70-$80 per night. This is the realistic price. At least during the off-season. Plus to match the package, its contents and its client. Lots of mistakes and things that were a surprise for us (as there was no space in the spa, even though we had a package, fortunately we found a spot on our check-out day+4 course dinner became just $35/person in a Copper Room....so...we had a strange feeling)
This is it, tried to make it as neutral as possible :)
3 star experience for 5 star price. The springs are nice, the lake is amazing! The hotel is kind of run down and with their checkout and check in times as late and early it feels like you're rushed in and out. I can sympathize with the covid restrictions and procedures but the price should reflect that. You're in the hotel for like 17 hours and it's $300.
The waterfront area is beautiful. However, there wasn't any public access washrooms readily available for changing into swim-wear. Also public parking was hard to find initially. Unless you are staying at a hotel, it is difficult to access most of the facilities there.
A really nice spot to stay. Staff was nice, the hot springs are definitely the attraction. Rooms are good enough. Views are nice. I'm guessing the nicest place to stay in Harrison
One of favorite weekend getaways. Beautiful hot pools and and mineral spas. Rooms was clean and spacious. Have stayed many times. Front desk staff could be a little friendlier hence my lower review. The hotel was very busy and the pool security was a little over zealous, barking rules at patrons. However the pools make up for any of the staff. Starbucks in lobby and excellent lake views. Very relaxing.
The lights are ok. It is an one time trip only.. There are better places near Surrey BC.
The amenities at the hotel are outstanding, and everything was clean and well-cared-for. The pools were lovely, and staff was extremely courteous and fast. My only complaint is that the bed was EXTREMELY hard. Considering this is a spa and the rooms are not cheap, and one is coming to relax and soothe their body, having a super hard bed (like the hardest I have ever slept on in a hotel in my life) is rather unpleasant, to say the least. Everything else about my experience was fantastic, and I will definitely come again, but I am seriously considering getting some kind of mat or something to cushion the bed next time. Softer mattresses would up my review to 5 stars!
We went to the lake side restaurant and the dessert buffet was amazing. Definately have to try to l the bread pudding!
My wife and I came here for our anniversary and it was such an amazing experience! We did the bed and breakfast with dinner in the Copper room which was also amazing. The food was very good and the band was great! Pools were awesome! We had buffet breakfast in the lakeside terrace and the food there was also incredible. Going back in a month, we loved it!!
Great pools. Beautiful hotel. Decent rooms. Passable food. Incredible spas. Very nice warm water.
Very relaxing, there are no natural springs. The two outdoor pools, the indoor pool and the indoor spa are all fed by the natural hot springs.
Pool was crowded. Standing room only. Rooms need a remodel, our tub was clogged. Rooms were very small. Creaky floors, dated furnishings, cracked outlet cover, etc.
Reliable, friendly service. The spring-fed pools are the main attraction and did not disappoint. Our rooms in the east wing were quite comfortable. Brunch daily was excellent, especially the individually prepared omelettes.
This place is a bit old, dirty, and expensive. I don't think it's worth the money spent. It feels like a cheap gym pool. The locker room is small. Steam room is dirty. I'm not sure why this place is so highly rated.
Such a lovely place to come and relax for a weekend. Feels like a vacation but very close to home. The suite is very charming, clean and all of the staff at the resort are a delight to talk to. The pools with spring water are the best, perfect temperature during the day and night. The only thing is I wish there was more ventilation at the indoor pools because the smell of chlorine is very strong I can't stay in there. We also went to the copper room restaurant which was fantastic, and I cannot wait for my next return.
Great place to stay. Rooms were pretty average, nothing wrong with them, but nothing to write home about. The pools and pool bar were very enjoyable and clean. All in all a good experience. Will be going back.
Pretty nice place to relax during winter/fall for a day or two. Weekends and holidays are very busy, especially during summer time. German restaurant down the street is a must visit place.
Very nice place. Took the girl friend and dogs and had a great experience.
Optimal location next to beach and many restaurants. Normal sized rooms for the price. Hot spring pools
Loved this place, pools were perfect, all different temperatures for each person and mood. Everyone was so relaxed and friendly. not a single negative thing to say beside the wifi, but you're not here for internet!
Great hot spring, and a very relaxing weekend getaway.
Beautiful location without a doubt, but the rooms need updating for their price point and maybe some cobweb removal in their decks..
We had a Beutiful Lake view but could not sit outside with all the spiders and webs..
the pool area was so busy and finding a chair was crazy, maybe some pool side staff would help to create less confusion as to who is sitting where..
Got the executive level room, but it's still quite small. Building is old but well maintained. Hot spring pools are awesome.
So close to Vancouver that this excursion is always worthwhile.
The Resort Hotel is the BEST place to book for your overnight stay(s) in the town of Harrison Hot Springs because this Resort is the only place that allows you access to the 5 natural hot pools. Otherwise, you would have to just use he lake if you visit Harrison, which is cold. The 5 Hot Spring Pools are for resort guests only.
Once checked in, the resort gives you a robe which you wear to the pool and use it to lounge around in.
*Being a Resort, it should supply towels poolside too but they don't. There are 4 semi-large towels provided in the room; however, sometimes 2 towels each guest just are not enough.
For a place that is known for its pools, poolside refreshment options and activities should be available too.
Overall, the Resort is a nice gete-away that's close to Vancouver.
My wife and I used to go here a lot, but during our last couple of visits we've noticed a decline in the hotel. I would give it a 3, but since the resort pretends to be a high class joint I will give it a 2.
The place was generally dirty, the halls and furniture seem to be falling apart, the carpet in the rooms terribly worn, etc., etc...
I'm not sure it's worth the cost anymore.
Everything about this place was good. Except the wifi
Everything is good except for the food. The beef teriyaki with rice was awful.
Never disappoints this place. Great people from check in to check out. We had a wonderful family time in your pools. Thanks.
The resort is a bit dated but you're really going to enjoy the lake and the hot springs. It was understaffed during a busy winter season and snow and ice were left on the sidewalks. A child slipped and fell by the pool and the paramedics had to be called. More safety measures would have added another star along with adequate staffing.
Lots of grime on the edges of the pools. Not what you would expect.
Also, rooms get kinda nasty when there's so much water dripping off people that just came out of the pool.
The west wing room is new with a nice view. Facing to the Harrison lake, it gives a pleasant memory to us all.
Harrison hot springs resort and spa is a historic resort featuring five pools and four unique eateries. Overlooking Harrison lake it's a great place to relax and enjoy a short vacation or attend a business function.
Nice hotel with friendly staff. Four stars because the pools' water isn't very clean. Everything else is well maintained and clean. The location is beautiful.
Well maintained but older resort that really targets seniors and family's.
We have been staying here for the past 8 years. It started as a honeymoon destination for my husband and me 8 years ago. Our dream vacation. Since then, it became a family tradition when we started making babies. Each summer (minus one or two), we would go back and book a room there to enjoy the pools with our girls, or with just each other. We've come back every year.
Last year, we missed it because we had a newborn. So this year, when we went back for our vacation, it had been two years since we've gone. Things have changed, and not for the better.
The positives:
- The pools continue to be the best asset of this resort. We LOVE the pools. We would live in them if we could.
- The area, but that really has little to do with the resort itself.
- The staff are always very helpful and kind.
The negatives:
- The room we got was clean on the surface, but sticky, dusty, and dirty upon further investigation. Leave it to a toddler to show you how clean (or dirty) something is. We got the most expensive room because it was the biggest and accommodated what we wanted as a "living space" outside of home. The counters were sticky, the floor was dusty (our feet were gray within minutes of walking barefoot). Inside the cabinets and drawers were sticky as well. The room was old. For the most expensive room (we paid a good shiny penny for this), you'd expect that they would make sure this room was continually updated and CLEAN. The sheets and bed appear clean, but I sort of don't want to investigate further into this statement now. Ignorance is bliss, in this case.
- Breakfast is no longer included. In the past, all our packages we got automatically included breakfast buffet for everyone. This was great, since the lakeside restaurants offered very little for our vegetarian diets. So at least breakfast was taken care of every day that we were there. However, it wasn't until the last day we went that we learned breakfast wasn't included. So they failed to mention this to us, encouraged us at check in to enjoy our breakfasts, and then charged us close to $300 for breakfast during our stay.
- It wouldn't have been so bad if breakfast was GOOD. But it wasn't. The fruits were wiltering and soft, the scrambled eggs were way too powdery and under done, the lemon tarts were old and breaking apart. The best thing about the breakfast were the hashbrowns. My 7-year-old asked why her apple juice tasted like pee. This is not encouraging for when we spend $60 for a small plate of undercooked powdered eggs, a dying banana, and pee-tasted apple juice.
For the amount that we paid, breakfast should always be included, and the room should be so sparkling clean that my baby could play safely and cleanly in it without me having to worry that she will pick up something off the ground and try to eat it (which she did -- I had to constantly take something from her hands).
It's unfortunate, but this will be the last year we stay at the resort. We are saddened by this, but the tradition is no longer worth the dying accommodations that were so well received 8 years ago.
The good: pools, spa, and location are fantastic.
The bad:
Very dated and needs a complete reno. Especially for the price paid ($900 for two nights in may). Our whole floor (2nd floor) smelled like a hospital kitchen. The sound coming from the hallway is super loud as there is a 1.5 inch gap under the door.
Our room looked onto the roof and the view was better when the blinds were closed. Also we had the smallest room I've ever stayed in at a hotel. It was to the point of being clastrophobic. There were multiple marks on the paint and the door number was starting to rust.
There was no in room air conditioning.
The food is horrendous. For example:
The copper room steak dinner was horrible. Boring steak, mushy vegetables, bland mashed potatoes.
The cheese plate in the lounge was a joke. They served tasteless sandwich cheeses and paired them with sandwich meat, it was enedible. (cost was $20 for the cheese plate). The Korean cauliflower was a good idea but execution fell flat. No crunch, to much sauce.
The being said to breakfast buffet was quite good and had amazing views of the lake.
Overall, very unlikely we will be returning.
It's a nice place to visit with a lot of activities. But they really need to do some TLC or remodel in the main hot springs resort. It seemed like they are making a lot of money but cheaping out on expenditures to keep the place pleasant
The pools are why we come here ! The rooms are dated and need a serious renovation. Almost dumpy, but if you can look past that it's a great place to escape for a night or 2.
A beautiful old hotel. Room was very clean. Outside area were very beautiful and well kept. A/C worked extremely well. A great place
Went as a gift from our daughter for our honeymoon. I have some mobility issues which, in all fairness, the hotel staff were not aware of. Our room was on the opposite side of the resort from the pools and shops and unfortunately in order to avoid using stairs, we had to go outside in the pouring rain to get to a ramp. It rained our whole stay so we just stayed in our room. We ordered room service which was delivered in good time, but found it to be over priced and underwhelming. Considering our room was just under $200 each night, I would think parking would be included. But it was extra. The staff were very nice.
Friendly staff, fast room service, clean rooms, everything was working in the room. Towel policy unclear. There is a note in the room implementing that if you take a robe you will be charged $85. Yet the towels and robes in the pool are not marked in any way. Had random people take my robe at two occasions. Told front desk that, they took care of it but still it's a bit of a weird issue lol.
Great place to come in sit in mineral pool, have a drink and let your troubles fade away. Walk the main road and take in the many little shops.
Beautiful little town, but the hotel is run down. Stayed in the main part of the hotel. My room had no air conditioning, and the room was hot and stuffy. The bed was small, the carpet dirty, the walls are thin and you can hear every noise from the neighbouring rooms, and the decor was incredibly dated. No safe. A friend had to be moved to another room because she had bedbugs.
Fantastic service from all employees. Great food and drinks. No better way to relax !
Awesome pool, but rooms in our section of the hotel had no AC (when it was +35 during the day!!)
The hot springs are fabulous. Love the afternoon tea time. The view from our room was gorgeous. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The lady looking after our floor was wonderful and super sweet and extra helpful. We had an issue when we first checked in and the manager was very kind and dealt with it promptly. Great place to stay.
Everything about the stay was great. The rooms were comfortable and the service was very friendly
This is a yearly place I would take my kid to. It seems customer service has gone down. Especially when you are calling on the phone they are not as friendly. The email confirmation is friendlier then the in person customer service. Don't bother with the room service if you are calling an hour before closing. They either don't answer or shut down room service early (this happened twice on my visits) They should state when last call for room service is that way you can plan for dinner if they are not going to answer the phone. Pool is clean first thing in the morning. You don't see any one walking around to maintain the cleanliness of the pool. The only thing I like is that they have the hot spring pool in their resort and it take me 1 and a half hour for a staycation.
Hot pools at different temperatures. A very good hotel
Spent a Sunday night here and while the resort seems in decent shape given its history, the water in the pool was just barely warm. Maybe I didn t recalibrate my hot spring experiences from other parts of the world. Breakfast is bit pricy at $22 each.
After walking around the small town, I would say this resort would given the best experience in Harrison Hot Springs area.
A nice resort but very dated. Went on a weekday but the place was still packed. It doesn't feel nearly as relaxing when the pools are jam packed. Very attentive staff and they do try to provide first class service, but the reality is that the place is quite old and can have a musky smell to it. Not a terrible choice, but there are better local getaways around.
Great pools and rooms. During the night it gets really cold on the hotel rooms have lots of noise coming from the pool in the morning. Other than that, it was great
It was so relaxing and beautiful being in the pool and seeing swallows flying around.
My kids love this place! We spend everyone's birthday here! They play hours and hours in the pool. Especially Vancouver's winter, it's great to take a little break and enjoy some beautiful view!
Nice pools, great food but very old hotel that needs allot of repairs.
Excellent staff and service. Pools and pool areas are clean and well maintained. The rooms are okay too, but the plumbing could definitely use some work. My biggest complaint is the smoking area facing the rear lot. It traps a lot of smoke for anyone passing through. Also, while I couldn't recommend the buffet, outdoor seating at the Lakeside cafe is excellent! I've been the the resort a couple times and has been an overall positive experience, especially with children.
First off our room was too hot to sleep in with no AC and extremely limited access to WiFi. then when me and my girlfriend ordered room service (2 cheeseburgers) we were treated with pink meat in the middle and diarrhea. following day we decide to end the hot springs pools off with a dip in the quiet relaxation pool, only to find it full of screaming kids who were splashing and jumping into the pool. when all everyone there wanted was quiet and to relax, staff came and watched but no immediate action was taken. Not impressed with the "Relaxation" Spa treatment.
