Really beautiful and rejuvenating place with a rich history.
Only place to stay in my opinion that meets standand . Hot springs inside is a bonus.
I'm not usually one to write reviews for places, but I thought some would find this information helpful if they are considering staying here.
I booked the room as a getaway for my boyfriend's birthday. Our check-in was easy breezy, the front staff were cheerful and happy to answer any of our questions. We stayed in the West Tower on the third floor overlooking one of the pools. The room itself was old and definitely needed updating, but neither of us had concerns regarding its cleanliness. However, the mattresses were average at best, and the pillows were not the super-comfy-luxurious-hotel-pillows and I wish that I had brought my own from home. Another concern was the noise level - being located right over the pool, it was VERY loud from 8am until 11pm, even with the patio door and curtains shut. The walls are also quite thin, so you can hear the conversations of the people walking by in the hallway.
The pools were quite busy (we were there the second weekend in July), but they seemed to be well-kept and clean. The grounds are also nice, and there are tennis courts to use which was nice. The location is definitely a plus, since it is right on the lake. All restaurants are located at walking distance (2-5 minute walk).
Overall, it's an average hotel, not really anything super spectacular. Although the location was nice, I definitely do not think that it was worth the price of over $300 a night with taxes (we booked a month in advance).
The swimming pools were really clean and comfortable. The rooms were also very clean but at this time of the year, they were pretty hot. They did provide fans but it would be nicer if there were air conditioning. None the less, the activities made up for it. I enjoyed my time there and I would love to go again!
Really lovely. Gorgeous place to visit during winter holidays. Comfortable rooms. The tap water at the hotel tastes great. Maybe it's a Canadian thing.
Hit the pools first thing in the morning. Misty Japanese style landscaping and no crowds at that time. Quiet, inspiring and meditative.
Plenty of nice places to eat on campus. Live music was a bit loud for dinner in lower dining room, but dancers seemed to enjoy it and staff was accommodating, re-seating us far from stage and dance floor. Food and service good. This dining room is one of their pricier options. Excellent choice if you want to dance with dinner. Maybe not the best choice if you're not interested in dancing.
I liked lunch in the ground floor bar with view of lake. Coffee shop always open with Starbucks coffee and fruit cups, sandwiches, snacks and salads available at convenient hours.
We had our final brunch in the upstairs breakfast buffet. Long line moved quickly. Live action omelette guy is worth the short wait. He's skilled and entertaining and omelette was just what I'd ordered. Give him a big tip. Lots of other delicious ready to go choices including berry muesli and Asian cold noodles. Lovely long view of lake from the upper floor. This was probably the best food deal on campus.
It was not a great stay. Room was dark, bed was old and saggy and this was over $200 for the night. Not impressed.
Harrison Hot Springs seems like a world-class Hot Springs but has a very old feeling Hotel. The rooms are cheap and reflect well with a service. You can bathe in the hot springs late at night and they cut children off at 11 so you can enjoy there from 11 p.m. till about 1 a.m. without children around. You can also bring your own alcoholic beverages in there as long as they're not in glass containers.
Cottage was very clean and close to the pool. There wasn't a bright light in the cottage so it was very dim at night. Also, it was a bit weird that there was a distance sensor behind the sofa bed. But other than that, the service was great. Hot Springs were also very relaxing.
Hot springs and healing hotel
Although the facilities are old, it was more satisfying and better than any hotel
Please go once!
The area was perfect, the pool and everything, but not all people who work there are nice and welcoming, which that makes me not wanna go there again.
Beautiful lake and 5 different hot springs pools/hot tubs. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Also has great room service.
Honestly between a 2.5 and 3 stars. The biggest reason is because it's an old building and every little breath is heard. It was clean and well kept but when I stepped into the room it was quite hard to breath - the air wasn't very fresh. Some parts of the bathroom were a bit tarnished. The hot springs was amazing, wish there was some heat lamps or something to prevent walking outside between pools in the freezing cold. Plus better bathrobes. Other than that food options were pretty decent and overall it's a good place.
The hot spring pools and the manicured gardens were great features of this resort. However, there were a number of negatives. We stayed in one of the cabins at Harrison Hot Springs Resort. We were delighted at the opportunity to have our own little space. The green space around the cabins is fantastic. There's lots of grass space for kids to run around. We loved the outdoor table and chairs to sit. It was very quiet as well where our cabin was situated. We had close access to the outdoor hot springs pools, too. The bathtub in our cabin was very deep, which was fabulous. There were a number of downsides to the resort, though:
-the cabin is very dated, the carpet is old and stained, there were numerous cobwebs and dead bugs at all the windows and the entryway, there was not enough bedding for the main bed and the sofa bed, the bed isn't covered with a fitted sheet -- only flat sheets which don't tuck in completely and come loose, the lighting in the cabins is extremely poor to the point we had to use a camping lantern we had brought with us as back up. The cabins are also very small.
The draw to the resort is the hot springs pool. They were ok but we found on the second day of our stay that the main family outdoor pool was cool and also not pumping in any hot springs water. We had to avoid the outdoor pools in the afternoons because they were simply far too busy. There seemed to be no enforcement of numbers in the pools or checking of wristbands. It would have been very easy for guests to have others (who are not staying at the resort) come in and use the hot springs pools since no staff were checking for wrist bands.
Overall, the hotel is not worth the cost. A serious upgrade of the accommodations is needed. It's very dated, very old and unclean. We don't intend to stay here again until we see reviews indicating that upgrades of the accommodations have been made.
Nice beach side location with fantastic pools and restaurants.
Before I start, I want to say BRING YOUR OWN FLIP FLOP. The overall experience, I would give the resort a 4 stars. The location is the best feature of this resort it s near to almost every and the resort is really big. The room, I am a little disappointed. It really need a retouch on the interior decoration because it s dated ( or there is no decoration at all? I mean come on, the prize is much more expensive than a motel, so don t look like a motel... ). The hot spring is ok. The pools are a bit small consider how big the resort are. The decoration of the hot spring area itself it s ( chef s kiss ) on point. Beautiful out door pools area. The indoor pool area is a bit dated but still tolerable. No comment on room service before didn t order any
Great for families or senior couples. Severely outdated in many parts. More public pool-y than actual hotsprings.
Great location. Very clean. Friendly staff and reasonable prices for being an exclusive resort.
Very nice rooms and flexible prices. There is a water park for children as well as some adult only sections to accommodate everyone.
It was great, loved the old school vibe, facilities were nice and clean.
I have been coming here for almost 40 years. I have never been disappointed. Great little get away.
Nice place but could use some updating. Spa is overpriced. No RMTs on site and pedicure was waaay overpriced, facial was good. Bring your boots and go for a hike!
Great family vacation. Staff are great and remembered us from our previous visits.
Great resort. Clean and quiet. My only suggestion is to have at least one of the hot spring pools to be hotter. They were all just warm.
Relaxing and fun. Very nice when snowing and you go into the outdoor pool.
We tried to book online but their website was frustrating. We ended up driving out to see the rooms in person before we booked. They wouldn't allow it. When I booked a spa and a dinner reservation I never received a email confirmation. I called back to ask for the email confirmation but they wouldn't say it instead they verbally told me it was booked. Our room claimed to have a "mountain view". There was no window besides the sliding door and it was a view of the room with beer cans on it. Our bathroom light buzzed and flickered so bad I had to take the bulb out. Check in was at 4 but we arrived early to use the pool. No towels or robes were provided at the pool. The change room was disgusting with toilet paper on the floor rusty lockers and no locks for the lockers. After having family book 3 rooms a 12 person table for dinner and a 6 hour spa day a family member that was joining for dinner but hadn't booked a room was denied into the pool unless she pay $100. No flip flops are provided even though you have to walk outside to get to the pool and spa. During a 6 hour spa treatment it includes an hour break for lunch and $25 voucher at the lounge for food or drinks. When we went their they said we weren't allowed in our robe even though we had seen other people sitting their in their robes.
With all my complaints I The will say the spa was enjoyable and the copper room has delicious food and great entertainment. It may be different other times of the year but the small outdated rooms are not worth the price at all.
Was great. Nice and quite this time. Not many people. Enjoyed the hiking trails this time around.
It was really noisy. The people beside me were incredibly loud. I called the front desk four times to get help. I guess families are more of a staple customer than couples?
Never a bad experience... might be a little pricey but I'll pay it.... very much worth it
Loved the resort. Love the scenery and the little village. Relaxing!
Dated hotel with a fun atmosphere. The Copper Room is nice and they will accommodate vegans. The pool can be quite crowded.
One of my favourite places to go to during the summer!
The best time to be there is after xmas if you want discount. Check their site. Of season is the best time for your money. I love Harrison due to the tranquility and not hassle and bustle. Food wise a bit expensive for what they can provide. Not much competition
One restaurant I will recommend is Black Forest.
Love it here.. we try to get out to Harrison at least once a year and soak in the pools
Always amazing here!! Getting married here next year!
The hotel is a must mash of old and newer design from add-ons that don't really work. Why there is only one microwave for the entire hotel is beyond me. It's in desperate need of renovation so it all it flows. The hot pools are nice but can become crowded quickly. Hotel staff is nice. Also can be very expensive.
Expensive, children are loud and the quiet area is not enforced at all. I also like more heat than the pools had.
Love Harrison. Small town and so relaxing. Nice and close for a little getaway.
Our room was far too expensive to not have an air conditioner and they were charging for the bottled water bottles in the room.
These kinds of things have become standard at far less expensive hotels.
The temperature outside was 38C. It was so hot in our 4th floor room, that my spouse was vomitting and we had to consider other options for accommodation.
On the plus side, the staff were friendly and helpful.
A fantastic gettaway for the family theres so much to do!
This place is a bit overpriced and overrarted, but still quite relaxing.
So let me get this straight! All your shops inside the hotel are closed. The copper room and your buffets are closed! as well as afternoon tea and cookies not being served. your gym, sauna and spa are closed. No room service and no house keeping but I still have to pay full price?!
Springs are great, accomodations are nice and staff is friendly.
Awesome stay. Great cool rooms w no a/c noise. Beautiful, clean, friendly. The only downside was dinner in the lakeview cafe. Breakfasts were awesome. Do not go there for dinner. The service took forever and after waiting forever for dessert service, they told us only then that the special dessert wasn t available that day.
Where to start. Great staff amazing building. Hot springs are so relaxing. There is an adult side for us grown ups that enjoy kid free zones. Say that there is a pool at the other end that goes 5 ft deep for the kiddies and also a lovely sallow area in the hot springs for the little ones too. You have to sport a lovely arm band while you stay at the hotel. Food has always been so delicious. You can bring pets as well. There are cabins in the back of the hotel. One problem is that the car park always seems to get hit by thieves. Hide everything. Oh and my fav... a pool bar... not big but great staff serve it and it's an added bonus... you can get snacks through there at certain time like noon until 4... but I didnt pay close attention.
Enjoy your stay... I always do!
We always take advantage of all that we can while staying at Harrison hot springs resort. It's a hotel we enjoy coming back to year after year. We do couple's massage, mineral baths, dine at the copper room, walk through town, walk the trails, breakfast at the lakeside cafe and lunches at islands bar.
Always love coming here! The only reason I give it a 4 star this time is circumstances beyond their control. The are absolutely following the covid-19 protocols so there are less services but it's still awesome.
Over priced for what you get. Good veiws, but the rooms are very old. The tub in our room didn't even hold water, and the beaches and the spit are overflowing with geese poop.
If you want to lounge and get a nice soak in, this is the place to go. There are several pools, both indoors and outdoors to suit your needs. It's family friendly as well with sections of the pool for families and a section for adults. This is probably the only hotel in the area with these hot springs pools on campus. There's a public pool for other hotels I believe. The grounds are also nice with many features to keep you entertained. And of course the beautiful lakes out front is absolutely stunning, particularly for sunsets.
That said, this is not the kind of 5 stars resort you'd get. The rooms could use a facelift. The walls are paper thin and you can hear your neighbors above you, next to you, and out in the hallways. If you're looking for a romantic getaway and want privacy, this won't do it. Everyone can hear you! Get a room you freaks! Oh wait... You're already on your room.
The hotel is pretty old and the rooms are outdated. The gym room is decent but again old equipment. The spa is overpriced so we ended up finding one that was a 10 minute drive away. Never got around to trying the food at the hotel but there is a buffet and a restaurant. The main draw of the hotel and what makes it 4/5 stars is the pools. The hotel has its own private link to the hot springs. There are 4 pools which are all different temperatures so you can really find where you re most comfortable and hang out in the pool for hours. From inside the pool you are surrounded by the mountains and it feels like you re in some sort of private grotto in the middle of the mountains. The pools are really what make it worth the price.
Amazing pool! Great massage! We stayed at the old part of the hotel which was kind of like staying in the 50s...they need to upgrade the old part.besides that place was great!
Harrison was good but way too busy. I enjoyed a Christmas party with my wife's work associates. Food was awesome but the bed was uneven and a tad uncomfortable.
Staff was nice, room was nice, pool was great. I liked everything. One thing I didn't like is how they disable the USB plug on the TV so that you can't use your own external hard drive for videos.
Everything else was amazing and I would go again and would recommend.
I went during a very busy weekend, so they were short on robes sometimes. The beach was very close to the hotel and so were the restaurants, but most of my time was spent in the pool at the hotel since it was so nice. Overall, it was a lovely place to stay.
We stayed at the Cottage part of Harrison Hot Springs celebrating my birthday and we had a lovely 3 days, we went to different restaurants and we walk on the beach. Luckily the resort wasn't as busy as usual I presume that there were not to many visiting groups. Harrison Hot Springs Resort is the best Hotel in the area, we're been going here for past 10 years and we still go years to come.
3 star hotel. Very dated and dusty, serious need for new carpets and many other renos. Also Over priced. They do offer budget rooms, read other reviews on them. Each area and room has its own experince. Paid parking ?!? Luke warm hot springs. Noise levels are very high at the hotel, depending on the guest and childerns mannerism.
The scenery, the general vibe and rest of town are amazing. Staff is nice. Been coming to Harrison for many many years. With a positive attitude it is a pleasant stay. I have really never had a bad or horrible time visiting this hotel. I would and will return.
Amazing place to visit. Right on the lake, and the hot spring pools are very relaxing. Spend the entire day in your robe!
We had gone there overnight for a quick girls getaway. The resort itself is lovely, albeit a little outdated in decor but it is clean and we had an amazing lakeview. The pools were amazing - we did wish that there was an outdoor mineral pool option. There is also no lifeguard or staff that walk the pools so often there are loud and inebriated people in the indoor pool that really ruin the experience. It would be nice to have staff around to maintain the the "order" . We had opted in to a package which offered a breakfast buffet. To be honest, we were a little disappointed in the buffet as it didn't have as many options as we would have liked and also didn't have any chicken or turkey options for anyone who didn't eat red meat. All in all we enjoyed our stay though and will return again
This place has not aged well. I definitely wouldn't call it a resort anymore. To preface, I stayed in the heritage building and it was noticeably dated. Decor aside, it was also not cleaned. Upon entering the room, we found garbage leftover from the previous guests as well as hair all over the bathtub. The bed was rather small and uncomfortable, as were the towels and robes. We had hoped the redeeming grace would be the hotspring pools, but they were very crowded and appeared a bit run down. Overall, it was a very underwhelming and disappointing experience. I will not be visiting again.
Friendly helpful staff. Really busy and lack of cleanliness though.
The hot springs are wonderful, and the family atmosphere is enjoyable. We had a good time overall. But the staff in most areas of the hotel (except our friendly front desk agent) all come off as a bit disgruntled and seem to lack the level of customer service found at most nice hotels and resorts.
Wonderful family friendly resort. Variety of dining options and day time activities. 2 indoor swimming pools, 3 outdoor pools, including 1 for adults only. All pools have differing temperatures. Very relaxing for adults and fun for kids. Hotel has 4 wings with different room configurations. Some have balconies, some have lake views. There are 2 tennis courts and a lovely garden. Summer weekends have weddings. It is a family favorite, we have been going for more than 10 years as kids have grown and still discover new restaurants and activities.
