Diving Belize Amazing facility, comfortable rooms, friendly and professional staff. Great diving and snorkel equipment, boats, and most of all the guides! We also took the Mayan tour and the birding tour which were both very well done and again the guides were exceptional. Loved our stay at the Hamanasi Resort.

A perfect vacation in paradise. The resort is on the beach and also in a rainforest. The activities offered were varied and expertly planned and executed - everything from snorkeling and scuba to visiting a chocolate farm to exploring Mayan ruins. Our suite was huge and beautiful. The restaurant was delicious with lots of choices. And the service throughout was wonderful. I will definitely return.
We just returned from our 5th trip to Hamanasi. We had said this would be our last trip because we wanted to go to Asia; however, we are starting to plan another trip to Hamanasi.
Hamanasi is different than any other resort we have visited. You are treated special and the staff is genuine and they treat you like family. It is difficult to explain in words how special they are.
Our previous 4 trips were for 7 days; however, this time we went for 10 days. We mostly went diving, but we did do a few inland tours. The tours are awesome!
The surrounding village is Hopkins. This is a small Garifuna community. The people are very friendly and the area is safe. You can ride the available bikes into the village or cruise down to the Sitte River for a drink at the Curve Bar.
Also, this is not a party resort (Spring Break style). It is a relaxing and romantic resort with a beautiful staff.
Absolutely AMAZING place. One of the best I have Ever been to in my life! I would recommend this resort for Honeymooners, couples who need a complete break from life, and the adventurous sort as well. There aren t words to explain how awesome Hamanasi is. The people are the absolute best at what they do, and the adventures are peerless!
Hamanasi is the nicest resort I've ever stayed at. The grounds and rooms are all first-rate and the food is by far the best that I had in Belize. Our group (mid-twenties to mid-sixties) took part in a number of dive/adventure trips, all of which were fun, impossibly picturesque, and well-run.
As good as the facilities are, the staff are better. They put an amazing amount of effort into smoothing out normal vacation hiccups. They sent buses to pick us up when our flights were delayed, seamlessly rescheduled a trip that was cancelled due to flash flooding, and nearly carried my mother through a slippery section of a cave.
This is heaven on earth. The people are amazing, the setting is stunning, and the food fabulous. The Mayan history and Garifuna people add an important element to the trip which we relished learning about. My two daughters, ages 10 and 16, get a glazed look over their eyes whenever it's mentioned at home...they loved the beach, pool and touring....we'll definitely go again and again....
My wonderful birthday trip. My daughter and I stayed in one of the deluxe tree houses...I never in my wildest dreams thought it would be as wonderful as it was...we didn't want for a thing...from turning having local flowers on our beds, our beds turned down at night ( something I have never had done for me before in my life),filling up the jacuzzi, great food and most of all an enjoyable happy staff. They truly have the customer service down to an art.Everyone was so friendly ...I wanted to take all of them home ... We felt right at home from the time we were picked up at the airport. You really must visit here you will not be sorry. When you visit Hamanasi you should walk the beach to Hopkins Village... awesome, Ever since we booked our trip I knew I would want to move there...since our trip I know I will be moving there.
As one of the directors of the Hopkins Belize Humane Society (HBHS) located across the street from Hamanasi, words fail to describe how much I appreciate Hamanasi Resort. I have stayed at Hamanasi more times than I can remember. They are diligent and fanatic supporters of the HBHS, and so many other organizations in the Belize community. They are dedicated not just to their guests and their experience at the resort, they are equally committed to their staff, the environment, and their community. My deepest appreciation to all the Hamanasi staff for their kindness and professionalism, as well as their tireless support of the people and animals of Belize. HBHS would not be what it is without you. There's a reason Hamanasi is consistently rated one of the best resorts in the world.... they deserve it.
This vacation was absolutely unparalleled! Our son requested a 'tropical adventure' for his high school graduation trip, and beautiful Belize and the unbelievable Hamanasi exceeded our family's wildest expectations!!
From the initial communications with staff via email to inquire about this place to the real tears that fell a few days ago before our flight home, knowing it was our last morning in paradise - every moment and every interaction with Hamanasi and its wonderful staff was just perfect. We are thankful to you all for a lifetime of memories for our family!
I really could write a novel here about our experiences - but I want to leave some surprises for anyone reading this considering a trip :). Some highlights included the individual attention we received while dining (my 19-year-old loved the french fries - and, Abby brought him a side of them to accompany his dessert one night!) The team took care of every detail when planning and orchestrating our adventures - we snorkeled the barrier reef and had our own personal tour guide - not once, but FOUR times during our blissful week! The staff (and many of the other guests) knew us by name early in our week - it was easy to feel like family incredibly quickly, and this went beyond Hamanasi, actually! There are bikes available for guests to ride, and my husband and I took them out twice and rode into Hopkins one day, and took a left and bar-hopped a little another day. Both days left us with the same impression of the people of Belize overall - we met genuine, happy, friendly people everywhere we went! Zip-lining and just sight-seeing in Bocawina were incredible. Also - staying in the deluxe tree house, we were awakened each morning by the most beautiful bird songs I've ever heard - and I was able to head to the hammocks and Adirondack chairs at the end of the dock to watch the sunrise! Twice I saw a family of manatees travel by at sunrise (thanks to the Hamanasi crew preparing the boats for divers and snorkelers for telling me to watch for them!!).
We've traveled a lot and have visited many resorts and beautiful destinations - but we can say with complete sincerity that we will (sooner than later) become repeat guests at Hamanasi! Can't wait for our next trip.
Without a doubt, Hamanasi surpassed all expectations. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel like family. Taking the time to learn your likes and dislikes, they work really hard to make a personalized experience for all guests. If you have any wants/questions/desires - they will do EVERYTHING in their power to make it happen. I promise. For example, for the second half of our honeymoon, we were booked at a resort inland which turned out to be a disaster - I called Hamanasi out of desperation as no other hotels would take us on short notice and they rearranged schedules and made room for us to return without batting an eye. This was beyond all policies or promises, they do it because they just want to make sure their guests have the vacation of a lifetime. We will definitely be back!
RESTAURANT: Upscale, fresh food and lots of variety. We ate out in town a few nights to see local spots, but preferred Hamanasi as it never disappointed. The wait staff are extremely accommodating and strive to make your meals perfect. Its amazing how well they pick up on your likes and dislikes with out you saying anything! Very observant!
ADVENTURE PACKAGES: We only did a few adventure packages, but from the limited experiences we had, and the rave reviews from other guests, they are top notch. I recommend the water-based excursions as these are Hamanasi's bread and butter.
POOL: Great to hang out and have a drink, we preferred the Ocean as it was about thirty steps away from the pool and just as warm.
OCEAN/BEACH: Nice sandy beach with plenty of (super comfortable) beach chairs and hammocks. Hamanasi also owns a dock for the dive boats which has Muskoka chairs (Adirondack chairs) and hammocks at the end which were our preferred spot to catch the breeze and dolphin watch. Also, note that they do not over book so there is NO need to race to get beach chairs early in the morning like other resorts. In fact, rotating seating is the norm to optimize sun/shade times!
ROOMS: Fantastic - super clean, great views. Given a complication with our booking (our fault, not Hamanasi's) we ended up switching rooms 4 times during our stay - which means we got to experience the honey moon suite and a variety of beach front suites. All were unbelievable and private. We did not experience the tree houses, but I would bet they are just as great. The room cleaners are very non-invasive, yet tidy the room twice a day. They were like fairies, we never heard or saw them unless we asked!
TAKE HOME: Stop looking and just book Hamanasi - this was the advice we got from our close friends, and we were not disappointed.
What an amazing vacation! The resort is beautiful, the rooms are great (super comfy beds!), the beach is fantastic, the food was delicious and the staff treated us like family. The Dive Shop is the best operation I have ever used. My husband and I go on many dive trips and this one is the best so far. The dive equipment was practically brand new and the dive personnel were very knowledgeable and friendly. There were so many perks and fun surprises that I don't want to list them so it's not spoiled for others when they arrive.
I read the negative reviews before arriving. If you are worried about the food, don't be. There were SO many different meal choices and the food was fantastic. Second, if you are worried about not having a TV in your bedroom then bring an iPad that already has pre-downloaded movies. My husband and I were too tired most nights to watch a movie because we had so much fun during the day.
We will definitely be back and next time will bring our friends with us who missed out on the trip.
We went to Hamanasi for the first time in December for our anniversary and we would go back in a second! I cannot say enough good things about this place - phenomenal service and staff, absolutely beautiful grounds and gardens, extremely nice rooms (we loved the deluxe treehouse), great saltwater pool, perfect location right on the beach. We have recommended it everyone we know and are already trying to figure out when we can go back.
We could not have asked for a better vacation in Belize thanks to the amazing staff at Hamanasi. From the front desk, waiters/waitresses, bartenders and tour guides, everyone was very accommodating and pleasant. We are counting down the days to return back to Hamanasi. Thank you to the staff for making our Belize trip relaxing, memorable and simply perfect!
Nothing but the best at Hamanasi! Best accommodations, best food, best grounds, best diving, best rainforest adventures, and best customer service! We just returned home from our 7th visit and are already looking forward to our next one!
Our family of four with two teens did an activity each day - snorkeling, hiking, Mayan ruins, etc... followed by pool and beach time then dinner. Really good way to be together with organized activities. Teens went to the lounge / pool area in the evening to use wi-fi.
Our snorkel outing started in a shallow area to allow us to adjust equipment. Then we moved to deeper water with fish among fantastic coral, some of the largest I've seen anywhere. The guides were helpful and flexible to adjust the experience to our abilities.
We enjoyed the Mayflower hike which is a challenging climb (3+) to a waterfall with a swimming area. The water is very clean and refreshing for a swim - I recommend wearing a bathing suit and taking swim goggles to see under water in the waterfall area (interesting, plus it will help you know where to put your feet). The Jaguar Preserve hike also includes a smaller waterfall and is an easier climb (also take swim goggles!).
We rode bicycles into Hopkins village several times which is about a mile on a gravel road. The resort also rents golf carts but we preferred the bicycles to get some exercise. There are several local souvenir shops, crafts, small restaurants and bars, and general stores. It's a friendly quiet town that is worth visiting to understand local culture.
The entire Hamanasi staff is above average in the hotel industry in many ways - they are friendly, customer-minded, and empowered. Many of them are long term employees that consistently demonstrate how much they care.
Bottom line: Amazing! A vacation that exceeded our expectations! Long story: My wife and I found out about Hamanasi online and were amazed by all of the outstanding reviews. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were consistently impressed by the service and hospitality provided by all staff members. I would try to mention specific names, but it just wouldn t be fair as everyone at Hamanasi balanced a professional, yet kind and laid back demeanor. We stayed for an 8day/7night package for our Honeymoon (May 4 11) that included 5 adventures. We opted for a tree house suite. Arrival and Check-In: Absolutely seamless. Our arrival there was met by a courteous staff that effortlessly handled every detail of our check-in. Room: Beautiful! Clean. Comfy bed. Hot shower. Cold A/C. No TV or Wi/Fi which was fine with us but may not be for everyone. Hamanasi put a few added touches in our room for our honeymoon which was a very nice and well received gesture. Food: Fantastic! Breakfast lunch and dinner were all delicious and the desserts may have been our favorite :)
patio area that gives an amazing panoramic view. The landscaping is gorgeous and gives a very tropical and secluded feel. Hammocks everywhere. Very quiet and we had the poolside area to ourselves most of the day when we weren t out on an adventure. Hamanasi makes much effect to lessen their carbon footprint and it shows. There is a very green bio-friendly mindset there. All outdoor areas were very clean and neatly landscaped. Pool was always clean and rarely had anyone in it. Nightlife: Nope. Hamanasi does have a few evening things going on such as an acoustic guitar player and Garifuna dancers. If you re looking for a wild nightlife scene, keep looking. Nothing at Hamanasi and nothing out in the town (Hopkins). There is a good happy hour every evening with nightly specialty drinks. Adventures: We had 5 adventures included in our package but only opted to do 4 to allow for an extra day of relaxation. We were very happy to have that extra chill day. I scuba dive and my wife does not. So our first adventure was done separately as I went on a two tank dive trip and the wife went snorkeling. She said that the snorkel trip was amazing and she saw lots of marine life. I had a blast on the dive trip. I did two reef drift dives with good visibility and saw spotted eagle rays, loggerhead turtles, green moray eels, a nurse shark, lionfish, barracuda, lobster and many tropicals. Our next adventure was the Mayan ruin trip. Our guides were Hartfield and Kirk. Hartfield is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about the Mayan history and Kirk was also. Two ruins and both were fascinating in their own different ways. A long drive to get there but totally worth it. We were lucky enough to have Hartfield and Kirk again as our guides for the cave and jungle adventure. That was another fun adventure. You get a refreshing dip in a fresh water spring at the end. The last trip that we did was the Mayflower waterfall hike with Antonio. Antonio was excellent and the hike was exhausting but totally worth it. Bugs: It s Central America so yes there will be bugs. That being said, there were no bugs in our room at any point. Also, we experienced a good on-shore wind the majority of our stay which kept any mosquitos and sand fleas away. That and we always had on some type of bug juice. Although we did not experience any type of bug issue, we may have just been lucky due to time of year and weather conditions. Sun: Strong! Wear your sunscreen! Overall, we had a fantastic trip and found Hamanasi and Belize to be a perfect Honeymoon destination for us. I wish anyone who chooses to go there the same great experience that my wife and I had. Have fun!!!
We spent the past week in pure bliss thanks to the warm staff, stunning beaches, world class diving and fine cuisine at Hamanasi.
We loved spending our 10th Anniversary at Hamanasi! The romantic dinner for two on the beach was pretty spectacular, and the perfect way to end the day!
There is so much to see and do in Belize and I loved having my pick of high adventure activities on and off the resort!
There were plenty of complimentary property activities on the resort that we enjoyed like: biking, kayaking, Stand Up Paddle boarding, corn-hole, and volleyball.
We chose to do five days of sea & mainland adventures: with lots of diving, spear fishing, caving, hiking, tubing, zip-lining & jungle adventures. It was all so fun! All the guides were so educational, and provided me with insights of Belize and a newfound appreciation for the culture and people of Belize!
We dove 7 times with Hamanasi, and their entire dive crew was so professional, trust worthy and full of personality! They were such a pleasure to dive with!
The resort is so beautiful and clean! We noticed every morning(around 6 am) the resort had their crew out cleaning the cobblestone pathways, raking the sand on the property, and removing seaweed off their beach. Their property is so stunning and so well managed!
The food at the resort is all so delicious! We loved everything we had, and they had a nice variety of traditional dishes & classic desserts! My favorite was the lion fish ceviche, I think I ate that every single day I was there:)! But seriously, everything is really good, even on days when you are in the jungle or out on dives (they always pack you a delicious meal)!
We chose to stay at Hamanasi Adventure & Dive Resort, because it was the ultimate coastal resort, but we were happily surprised by the warm staff (that exceeded expectations at every opportunity & had incredible hospitality)! Hamanasi now sits firmly on the list of my favorites around the world.
This hotel has thought of everything for the traveler. They provide awesome service in a beautiful location. Karina contacted us to find out when we were arriving at the airport, made sure we had transportation to the resort. We were greeted by name upon arrival, told our luggage would be sent to our room and then whisked to a continental buffet breakfast that was out of this world good. Dinners were a culinary delight as well. If you have never been to a hotel that all employees go out of their way to learn your name and then use it....you are in for a treat here! Making sure that all your needs are met is an understatement...they retrieved medication from a pharmacy for us, to booking great adventures.
We stayed in a tree house room. Wonderful. We were greeted with a personalized note, flowers, wonderful soap, and reuseable water bottles with our names on them. The bed was wonderful. Loved the feeling of the bathroom. The shower had a skylight and window showing the rainforest...so it felt like you showered outside (minus of course the bugs).
The adventures that we booked were a snorkel tour and mayan ruins expeditions. Medel was a super guide, pointing at all the fish with a wand and giving lots of information. Including when we saw a reef shark! Our mayan ruin guides Anatacio and Jose were awesome. Not only did they know the mayan ruin information, but had their binoculars handy to point out birds, monkeys and iguana.
If relaxation is the goal....The dock had a great open air "hut" to relax, feel the breeze and to be beguiled by the beautiful ocean, while sitting in either an adirondack chairs or lying in a hammock. If you wanted to sit by the pool you could, or lounge on the beach (either in the shade of beautiful palms/coconut trees or in the sun).
Happy hours were fun. You could meet other guests, play games or just sit on the veranda and enjoy the conversations there.
My only regret is that we didn't stay longer. We will be back! Also, I convinced my siblings to give a stay at this hotel as part of a christmas present for a 2017 vacation to my parents!
My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Hamanasi. We could not be happier with our choice! Being an Eco resort the grounds were beautiful. Trees and plants also provided much appreciated privacy on the beach and in the rooms. Management was very flexible when we were booking and customized an inclusive package to suit our needs. When we arrived they surprised us with a bottle of champagne even though we did not opt for the honeymoon package. Their attention to detail made us feel like we were the only guests. Servers had my husband's favorite hot sauce on the table for every meal without us asking, before our food come out. They even picked up a few personal items we needed, in town, and had them waiting for us. The food was above average. The tours were excellent and guides were very knowledgeable. There were mostly couples and families vacationing. While there we checked out other resorts nearby and Hamanasi was far superior in beauty, amenities, service, and professionalism!!
If you want to be treated like a friend/family with 10 star customer service, amazing food, beautiful accommodations and amazing Belizean adventures....The Hamanasi is for you!!!!! Whether you choose to relax at the beach or pool or go on an unforgettable adventure you will not be disappointed. The Hamanasi is a very special resort in an amazing country. Hopkins Village is a short walk or bike ride away. The friendly people in Hopkins will make you smile. Pack a few extra things in your suitcase to donate to the children in Hopkins Village. Check The Hamanasi website for suggestions. We are already planning our return trip!!!!!
Fabulous get-away in Belize 5 of 5 bubblesReviewed 1 week ago We stayed in a deluxe treehouse for our 41st wedding anniversary and couldn't have had a better get away site. The accommodation was fabulous...clean, well appointed, and comfortable with a Jacuzzi on the deck, hammock, spacious indoor bedroom, bath, living area with kitchen space (no cooking but coffee pot, fresh water cooler, sink, fridge and safe for valuables). We participated in many of the adventures: snorkeling twice, the river canoe trip, chocolate tour, Maya tour, and Jaguar preserve hike. All of the adventures were led by knowledgeable guides with just 6 or so people on each tour. We were greeted by name from the moment of our arrival at the Dangriga airport through our departure. Wonderful service, great meals, nice happy hour with drinks inside, out overlooking the beach or rooftop. Although the package is expensive, Hamanasi Resort exceeded our expectations. I hope to return!
A group of 6 friends traveled to Hamanasi to celebrate retirements and birthdays. The visit was recommended by one of the couples, who had been there once before and loved it; now there are 2 more couples who love it and will be returning some day. Upon our arrival at the resort, we were greeted with lime fizzes and quickly whisked off to our treehouses. The treehouses are actually lovely stand-alone apartments in the trees, raised up well above ground level, so you do have to be able to climb stairs (if you can't, or don't want to, there are ground level rooms with a very similar layout). The rooms have lovely wood floors and furniture and the bed is incredibly comfortable - it's better than my bed at home. An almost silent air conditioner and ceiling fans keep the room at the perfect temperature (if you leave for an adventure, the A/C is turned off to conserve energy; it's turned back on before you return). The bathroom has a beautiful tiled shower and vanity with 2 sinks and everything is impeccably clean. There were small reading lamps on the headboard, which I found to be inadequate, but the next morning one of the office staff checked in with us to see how we liked the treehouse and I mentioned the lamps - presto! later that day, they had replaced the lamps with better ones! Surrounded by trees, the only sounds we heard in the treehouse were birds and soft breezes. Two of our friends stayed in a ground level room closer to the beach, and they loved having the sound of the waves. The staff were all very professional and efficient and yet very warm and friendly. We signed up for a couple of snorkling trips and were all carefully fitted with masks and fins which were checked out to us for the duration of our stay. The dive guides ensured that our gear was on the boat and provided drinking water, snacks and big towels. They also accompanied us in groups of about 6 people and guided us through fabulous reefs, pointing out fish, eagle rays, various types of coral and so on.
Meals in the restaurant were excellent: for breakfast you could select items from a European-style buffet, including fresh fruit, meats and cheeses, baked goods, freshly squeezed fruit juices, homemade yogurt and cereals, or you could order American style eggs, breakfast meats, pancakes, waffles, etc. The coffee is excellent! Lunches offered a variety of sandwiches or wraps, salads, and so on. Dinners always included a choice of fresh fish prepared however you wanted it, a chicken dish, beef or pork, ceviche, salads and dessert. The servers were wonderfully attentive. A lot of the staff have worked at Hamanasi for years and appear to really enjoy their jobs.
Hamanasi is an "Eco-resort", and they really are committed to energy conservation and minimizing waste. You're given a metal water bottle upon arrival, so there's no need to have plastic. When lunches are served at day-long outings, they provide real dishes, silverware and cloth napkins - again, no plastic waste. Kitchen waste is composted and the gardener is working to increase the amount of vegetables he can provide to the kitchen (we arranged to have a tour of the garden). The groundskeepers work constantly to keep the pool, walking paths and beach areas clean; leaves and fallen fruit also go into the compost.
We had an absolutely fabulous time at Hamanasi; you will too!
Great small boutique resort in Belize, very quiet, secluded, great food, good small excursions, extremely eco-conscious, and very personalized service. We can't say enough good things about this place!
We could not have been more pleased with our stay at Hamanasi. If I could give it 6 stars I would. Amazing staff, great food, perfectly clean, and fun! The tree houses are really tree mansions. We had zero desire to leave! We will be back!!
Hamanasi is really an amazing place. We went there to get our PADI Open Water Diver certification. The dive staff were competent, friendly, and helpful. (And we got our certs!) The rooms are awesome. We stayed in two rooms just due to availability. The beach front suite is wonderful and a bit smaller than the deluxe treehouse (really a multiroom suite). Both have emaculate furnishings and amenities. The restaurant is wonderful and serves an early breakfast for divers (and everyone else too). Keep in mind there's only internet access in the main building and it's not the fastest. There are some games in the main building and you may want to bring some of your own, too. If you prefer beach front, get a suite. The Treehouse rooms are private and huge! Anyway, definitely a great place and we hope to be back again some day.
This was a very pleasant stay at a welcoming resort. The staff was friendly throughout, and the food and lodging were top notch. The resort works very hard to conduct operations in an environmentally friendly manner. The snorkeling was outstanding, plus they arranged for me to fish with a local fisherman. We had a great day, with some of the catch prepared by the chef for our dinner.
went there to go for dinner reservations. they were quite rude and it was difficult to get to see the menu and setting for a fancy night out. the place was nice and quaint, but the hostility was a bit much
Hamanasi was an excellent place to stay as well as an excellent place to adventure in Belize. We dove with Hamanasi and the dive staff was very professional and made the dives so fun. We were impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the excellent food, and the commitment to sustainability. I highly recommend Hamanasi!
We had a wonderful vacation at Hamanasi. All of the great reviews we read ahead of time were true, particularly about the excellent customer service. It made a big difference to us the our guides were staff members of the resort. They were knowledgeable and provided individual attention as necessary. I say that because we did choose some challenging adventures, including the Mayflower hike and the cave exploration. Exciting trips, made a bit more difficult due to the heavy rains the night before. The snorkeling was the best we'd ever experienced. We appreciated the fact that since there were 8 in our particular group, we had 2 guides so that we could split up. The food was good, and since we don't eat meat we had plenty of fish and vegetarian options. Don't miss the chocolate lava cake. We chose a beach front room and were very happy with it.
We chose to spend a week here for our honeymoon with the Treehouse package after reading all of the reviews here, and we could not be more impressed! The staff were all incredibly kind, and the guides were extremely knowledgeable, accommodating, and fun!
This is is a very small resort, and you are always greeted by name by the very attentive staff! We were met by Gilroy with drinks upon arrival. Arne, Lorenzo, Hartfield, and Medel were excellent guides through the caves, jungle, snorkeling, and Mayan ruin adventures, and Mark, Rachel, Kenneth, Juan, and countless others were an absolute joy to be around at the bar, pool, beach, and restaurant. There was also a nice mix of families and couples, making for a very pleasant atmosphere.
Edit: forgot to mention Tony, Patricia, and Gilda! Too many great people, I'm sure I've forgotten others, as well.
It is absolutely worth the money and effort to visit here, and we absolutely recommend spending as much time here as you can!
We loved our time at Hamanasi, surrounded by both natural and personal warmth. Everything was perfect - luxury without any frivolous or wasteful pampering, knowledgeable and articulate and personable guides, a variety of activities and adventures for being very active or just relaxing, and fresh, well-prepared and served food. This is a special place. We would love to return.
We love this place!! We first visited Hamanasi because it was one of the only places we could find that both had diving and clearly welcomed children. That was years ago. Since then, we have been back many times. We keep coming back because Hamanasi is such a welcoming, beautiful place. The resort is everything you could wish for in a vacation--beautiful scenery, a tranquil setting, a capable attentive staff, and, of course, fabulous food. The diving is wonderful, the day trips are always fun and informative. Some of the guides and staff have become friends. Hamanasi is the real deal in terms of eco-resorts. They care deeply, and take many steps to protect the environment, but manage to avoid preaching. Can't wait to go back again!
We recently spent 8 amazing days at the Hamanasi Resort. Everything was excellent! Our tree house room was beautiful, private and very comfortable. My husband dove 2x and we also snorkeled. The dive staff was, organized, informative, fun and kept safety as their number one priority. The Hamanasi restaurant was 5 star, we have never had such good food at an all inclusive, it was fine dining at every meal. Our tour guides were knowledgeable, made accommodations when necessary and were true ambassadors of the resort and their country, Belize. As you can see we were wowed by our visit. One final comment, the staff from landscapers to front desk to servers, guides and adventure center staff were attentive, flexible and called us by name by day 2. We will definitely visit Hamanasi again. You won t be disappointed!
Our experience at Hamanasi was fantastic! The site, especially our tree house, were great! The staff are friendly, experienced and attentive! The adventures, fun. The diving and snorkeling, excellent! And, Hopkins is a great, small Belizean community. Such a great week! Thanks, Hamanasi!
Not many people can say "we stayed in a treehouse on our honeymoon." We had a terrific time at the resort. The staff was attentive and would remember you by name, we had the option to just to relax or go on an adventure, we did do both. The treehouse was fantastic! It gave you the illusion of being alone as it is surrounded by trees and vegetation, but it was close to the main house. Easy to talk with other guests and make new friends. Highly recommend it! Definitely a trip.
I would not change anything about our week at Hamanasi. My girlfriend and I stayed in a beachfront suite. The staff took care of everything, including airport transfers and tracking our dive info. Our package included all our meals and four adventures, all of which we used for diving. The diving was fantastic, by the way. Weather was perfect, viz was incredible, and staff were all amazing. We almost overslept before our Blue Hole dive trip, but Tony woke us up with a knock on the door and then met us down at the dock with a boxed breakfast and coffee ready to go. That's just one example of the above-and-beyond service we received throughout our stay. Interacting with the staff on a first-name basis made us feel like part of the family. Sam was an excellent dive master, as was Oscar and Evan. The food was fabulous--the ribs in particular were "to die for." Armando always kept us entertained at dinner, even if he was not our server. The room was very comfortable and well maintained throughout our stay. The property is beautiful, with hammocks and loungers, kayaks and paddle boards, and poolside drink service available to your heart's content. There were no solicitors on the beach, and the resort is just the right size so it never felt too crowded. I could go on. Suffice it to say, I wouldn't change anything. Can't wait to go back.
The resort was wonderful. Food was excellent, staff very welcoming and helpful, and excursions fun and well planned. We went hiking, caving, canoeing, diving, cave tubing, snorkeling, etc. So much to do!
The grounds are meticulously-kept, our room (deluxe tree house) exceeded our expectations, so private and beautiful - obviously designed with romance and privacy in mind. The service is fabulous and the adventures were wonderfully fun - so many to chose from. The staff takes great care in making sure they clean while you're away at breakfast or out adventuring and the turn down service comes in the evening while you're eating a fabulous dinner. I simply cannot think of a single thing I'd change or improve upon.
Unbelizable! Our family of 4 (two teenage kids) spent 5 fantastic days at Hamanasi and were treated to a 5 star experience. To start off with, we had some challenges with flights being delayed which affected our final puddle jump to Dandriga. Hamanasi staff helped smooth things out and got us to the resort just in time for dinner (thanks Gilroy!).
I was more than impressed by the main house, with the high-beamed mahogany ceilings, breezy balcony seating, and superb service by all. Walking to our treehouse was like walking through a real-life Disney jungle ride. The house was surrounded by trees, vines and birdsong, with just enough lighting at night to find your way. The room was extremely comfortable and with plenty of room for the 4 of us. We had excellent coffee in our room every morning, and the bathroom was HUGE. Sitting out on the deck in the morning, listening to the birds and the occasional rainstorm was incredibly relaxing! Our adventures were AMAZING! We did the Cave Tubing, the Mayan tour, and the Zip Lining at Bocawina. The snorkeling trip we took was wonderful as well! We saw a nurse shark, a big huge ray, and a gazillion beautiful fish. Our guide, Home Alone, was really knowledgeable and pointed out all sorts of cool sea life that we would have missed.
Everything about our stay was perfect - especially the people and the food. The catch of the day was always our favorite, and it was prepared magnificently by the wonderful ladies in the kitchen. Can't say enough about the quality, flavor and presentation of every dish we ordered.
The Belizean people are among the kindest, friendliest and most genuine I have ever experienced. It wasn't just at Hamanasi that we encountered such wonderful people either, so feel free to wander around, and explore to your heart's content! Hamanasi is an excellent place for families of all ages, even little ones. The whole resort is comfortable and safe, and we enjoyed every minute. That being said, I think I d love to return with just my husband, as it was very romantic!
Special thanks to Kenneth (bartender extraordinaire), Ems, Hartfield, Francis, Patricia, Gilroy, Home Alone, Danisha, Anastacio, Kirk, Axel, Alex and Lorena! If you get Ems to take you anywhere, ask him to sing for you :)
This was one of those places that the actual reality far exceeded both the website pictures and our expectations.
We can't wait to go back and do all the things that we missed!
Nice couples resort, best if u plan day trips as there isn't much lically, unlike the other spots in Belize up north. We had a couple of hiccups with the construction out side and as it was our honeymoon they forgot our bubbles! Fun for couples and families, not for backpackers and travellers looking to party
Our second trip to Hamanasi. First thing to emphasize: the resort follows impeccable covid safety protocols, which makes guests feel safer than if they were staying home. All meals can be eaten on the restaurant balcony, in the open air, as gentle, warm breezes remind you why you came. Everyone wears masks in all public spaces, and daily, unobtrusive temperature checks reassure everyone.
Then, there are all the great things that set Hamanasi apart from other Central America resorts:
--a level of attention and service beyond anything we've ever experienced. The entire staff will know your name within an hour of your arrival, and will gladly customize your experience depending on everything from your dietary preferences to your level of interest in Garaifuna and Mayan culture and history. If, for instance, you are more interested in birding than reef diving, the staff will assure that you are expertly guided to some of the best birding sites in the region. They will take a genuine interest in your interests, and share your enthusiasm.
--a commitment to sustainability that is rare in the resort industry, ranging from Hamanasi's extensive organic garden to its composting program to its use of refillable ceramic shampoo and lotions instead of disposable plastics.
--a quality of fresh, locally sourced and creatively prepared food that makes the restaurant worth visiting even if you are not staying at the resort. We ate some of the best, fresh-caught fish dishes we've ever tasted here, as well as Mayan soups and entrees you can seldom find anywhere else.
--a remarkable variety of outings and adventures, ranging from trips to Mayan temples like Xunantunich (pronounced shoo-nan-too-nitch) to cave explorations to snorkeling trips where the staff makes even newbies and terrible swimmers like myself feel like they've mastered the skill within minutes. And of course the coral reef itself is a wonder (on our recent trip we swam for several minutes just above a magnificent spotted eagle ray).
The grounds are not only immaculate, but the plantings of native trees, palms and flowering plants create beauty everywhere you turn (and provide habitat for stunning birds that will perch in branches near your deck, including the black-headed trogon and summer tanager).
--there are many extras that come with the price of admission: free access to ocean kayaks, paddle boards, and bicycles (handy for trips into nearby Hopkins Village). Unlimited breakfast options, and takeaway fruits and breadstuffs if you are making an early morning birding trip with one of the staff's expert guides.
There are many reasons so many guests are repeat visitors to the incomparable Hamanasi Adventure Resort (I haven't even mentioned the world-class diving opportunities!). These are just a few of them.
Wow! This place was really nice. Rooms are very lovely and we were in one of the cheaper beach front rooms. The staff there is so inviting and go out of their way to make sure your stay is the best it can be. Many activities offered, we took advantage of diving, and the mayan tour. Located right on the beach with access to paddle boards and kayaks. A dock you can go out and lay in a hammock on.
If you're vacationing in Belize I would highly recommend Hamanasi!
Let me tell you, I travel a lot and Hamanasi was by far the best accommodations I've experienced abroad so far. Hamanasi has given me a new standard to hope for and maybe even expect! The food was fantastic! I felt like royalty because everyone cared that you enjoyed yourself and had a great time. The tour guides have a love and passion for what they do. The resort staff is caring, polite, friendly, amazing! I've recommended Hamanasi to all of my friends and family. I'll be sending my parents there next year for their anniversary. If you're thinking of going to Belize, I can't imagine a better resort to stay at!
Went on a short vacation with a small group of friends to Belize. Overall, our stay at Hamanasi and the time we spent in Belize was incredible. The staff at the resort made us feel like royalty from the moment we stepped on the resort property. The customer service is AMAZING, probably the best customer services I have ever experienced anywhere. The food was delicious. I'm a very picky eater, so I was a little nervous, but I think I cleaned the plate every meal, breakfast, lunch, and dinner (p.s. the caye lime pie is delicious). In all of the excursions, we felt safe and it was great being led by locals who knew so much about the area and land. Every tour guide we had made us feel so welcome and were a wealth of knowledge about the culture, history, and plants/animals. If you are considering the resort, go ahead and book it! You will not regret it. Especially for the short time we had down there (5 days), it was worth having every meal and excursion planned out. I know we wouldn't have had nearly the same, relaxed, exciting, or memorable experience if we booked anywhere else.
We spent our honeymoon at Hamanasi, and it exceeded all of our expectations. The setting is incredible. The opportunity to visit a rain forest, Mayan ruins, and a coral reef from a single facility is a true opportunity. The food is an amazing combination of Belizean specialties and well prepared dishes from around the world.
Most amazingly is the quality of the staff and the level of service. There was not a request we made or a question we we had about the place that the staff didn t go out of their way to satisfy. The weather is beautiful, the ecological considerations are serious, and this place is just perfect
We highly recommend the Hamanasi for an amazing vacation! This was by far the best vacation we have ever had and the biggest reason is because of the Hamanasi family who took amazing care of us and gave us the best time of our lives! We booked our vacation a year ago but a month before our trip our 23 year old son was killed in a car crash and we hesitated about going on our trip because of our devastation but we decided we needed it. The Hamamasi family helped us to enjoy ourselves and it was exactly what we needed in order to move forward with the healing process. Their Adventures were incredible, the guides were very knowledgeable and hilarious. They all made us laugh so much and that's what we needed! The entire staff became family to us and we're so welcoming. We were sad to end our vacation but we were more sad about leaving our Hamanasi family. We will definitely be going back and we will become regular Hamanasi vacationers!
We came back to Hamanasi this past April after spending a week there in February of 2015. Our 2nd vacation there was as excellent as the first one. The adventures, service, food, accommodation, beach - we loved it all! The guides are very knowledgeable, our diving coach, Martin, was very professional and patient. The food is always fresh and healthy (veggies and fruit come from Hamanasi's own garden), Looking forward to future visit with new adventures!
This place is AMAZING! If you like attention to detail and having everything at your finger tips, this is the place! Food is 5 star, staff is 5 star, rooms are beautiful! Adventures are spectacular and the "guides" are knowledgeable, funny and make sure everything is up to safety standards. I would highly recommend coming to Hamanasi! I'll be back for sure!!
My family and I spent time at Hamanasi in January 2018 and had the most wonderful trip. From the very beginning, every detail was thoughtfully taken care of - even before we knew we needed anything! Karina and her team set up our travel and were waiting for us upon our arrival at the airport.
We loved our treehouse room - I slept better there than I had in years! Literally, YEARS. I loved the eco-friendly vibe and thought the in-room water was a great addition to room amenities. It was weird at first to be without technology or a TV but I am so glad for it -- it gave us the time to break away from reality and really jump into all the activities offered!
T in the activities center was wonderful. He explained everything so well and was very helpful when we were debating our options. His activities crew was also great and we were so pleasantly surprised by the incredible knowledge level of all of our guides. My mom said that the Mayan tour guide was one of the smartest folks she ever met and she was so happy to have gone on the tour (and I'm sad I missed it!). I also really enjoyed chatting with Kamisha on the property - she was just so sweet and endearing and those little lovely interactions are what makes up Hamanasi at it's core.
I know I am missing people here but special thanks to John, Neal, Arnie, Dan, Rosie, Shevon, Ash, Home Alone, Mark, Bern, Kamisha, and Karina for an AMAZING trip. I hope to be back there soon!
This was a spectacular resort that combined the best of service, facilities and food. The staff was helpful and friendly from the moment we booked our trip. Once we arrived, we found the most bucolic setting, staying in one of their treehouses, and loved the charm of the main house which was where the bar/library/restaurant was located. The excursions were thought fully designed and the guides incredibly knowledgeable. The dive and snorkel staff were exceptionally patient with newbies like my family. I couldn t recommend this place more and can t wait to return!
Hamanasi is a beautiful boutique resort that prides itself on being friendly and responsive to customers, and it does not disappoint. The facility is GORGEOUS, the rooms are well appointed, the food is fresh and locally sourced, and the staff go out of their way to treat guests like each one is special. Oh, and the excursions are fabulous, with friendly and knowledgeable guides who are eager to share what they know about their country and its natural beauty.
We had a wonderful week at Hamanasi. It's a gorgeous, relaxing, comfortable, extraordinarily friendly place. The rooms are fantastic. We stayed in a treehouse, which I recommend highly. The service is excellent and everything in the room worked extremely well: good lighting, hot water, effective air conditioning, etc. The adventures were very enjoyable and well-run. Every guide we had was friendly, fun, and knowledgeable. This is a very well-managed resort, which made our time a real pleasure. We would definitely return.
My wife and I had a TERRIFIC vacation!!! We were completely satisfied with every aspect of the experience - the diving, the jungle tours, the food... everything. You can research Hamanasi all you want, you can ask all the questions you want... the answer is just go, and have the time of your life!
Hamanasi sets a very high bar in every way. Our deluxe treehouse accommodation was spacious, replete with amenities, private and immaculate. As other reviewers have shared, we found the staff to be courteous and helpful at all times and genuinely committed to ensuring a pleasurable stay. Our adventure guides were professional and cordial. The overall design and management of this resort is so impressive, conducive to an intimate and personalized experience. The beautifully maintained resort grounds are extensive, but the number of guests is limited so there is never a feeling of being crowded. Great for couples or families.
Belize is beautiful and the folks at Hamanasi make it even more beautiful. From the first minute we stepped onto property, the staff made an effort to learn our names and connect with us on a personal level. We never felt like we were an imposition even when they were pampering us with royal treatment! The food in the restaurant was phenomenal; the tours they offered were all top quality; the guides and staff on property were knowledgeable, kind and patient. We have never had such a wonderful vacation.
We (husband, 2 teenagers, and I) just returned from Hamanasi and it was one of the best vacations we've had in a long time. As has been stated repeatedly in other reviews, the service was incredibly personal, friendly, and accommodating. The resort is beautiful. It is small and has a really natural, tropical feel. The photos on the website don't really do it justice. The food was excellent. The adventures were all top notch. And in general, it was EASY. So many of our vacations require too many decisions (and subsequent conflict), and so much planning and running around and trying to figure out where to eat. At Hamanasi, everything is taken care of so it is both exciting and fun, but also relaxing. The kids were very happy and we were very happy too.
Regarding particular activities, the Mayflower hike, the Magical Mayan ruins trip, and snorkeling were our favorites. We have snorkeled in Hawaii and the Bahamas and this was by far the best. I can't believe what we got to see, and the water is warm and the reefs are beautiful. The Maya ruin day is VERY long, but we all thought it was very interesting and the food at the lunch stop was excellent. My only "complaint" is that many of the tours start early in the morning and for some the time in the van is quite long (which of course is why those particular tours leave early). If your teen likes to sleep in on vacation, this may be a problem. Or you can just schedule fewer activities. I think we overscheduled a bit, but we were happy to do so many fun things.
Exceptional start to finish! The food is terrific, the service better, and the diving world class. They pay attention to every detail like hammocks on the room balconies, half portions in the restaurant for dinner, and guided snorkeling tours of the reef. We stayed 5 days and did 3 days diving, 1 day snorkeling and 1 day cave tubing. All of the excursions were well organized and totally worth it. Can't wait to return!
My son and I wanted a diving and snorkeling experience away from the big crowds. We found what we were looking for and much more at Hamanasi. I have traveled a lot in my life and by far this is the place you want to stay if you want a get-away from it all vacation. The staff is amazingly friendly. It seemed everybody knew our names. The food was great, the rooms were great. The Adventures were fantastic. What I didn't realize is that they kept one adventure "off the menu" so to speak. That "secret" Adventure was titled, "Hurricane Earl". Yes, my son and I were at Hamanasi the day the Hurricane struck Belize on 3-4 August. At first we were disappointed to learn we would be removed from the property and moved inland toward the Guatemala border in order to be safe from the Hurricane. The Hamanasi group packed the remaining guests in 3 vans and we drove up to San Ignacio where we were fed lunch and moved into another hotel safe from flooding. The Hamanasi team stayed with us during our two nights in San Ignacio as the hurricane struck. What's interesting to note is that the Hamanasi team was away from their families taking care of us guests. Now, tell me, who does that? It was an amazing experience. During our time on the Hurricane "Adventure" my son and I got to meet most of the guests with us. We would have never got to meet our fellow guests as well as we did without having this Hurricane adventure. The day after the hurricane the Hamanasi team took us around San Ignacio and we got to see the flooded river and the hurricane damage. They kept us fed and watered and they were very happy to show us around town and give us some educational information on the Mayan civilization. Everybody kept up a good attitude. IT was very interesting and who among us can say they have been in a hurricane?? When we returned to Hamanasi the staff had the hotel totally cleaned up and ready for guests. I loved Hamanasi. The snorkeling and diving were awesome, the staff very very friendly, they are a loving and caring bunch. They cared for us over their own families, very amazing. The topper came when I went to check out Saturday. Without any expectation the Hamanasi management comp'd the nights we were in San Ignacio, 2 adventures (even though we got all three we paid for if you could the hurricane which was a super cool adventure). I was totally blown away by their generosity. My experience was memorable and I will be be coming back again and again. The only down side I experienced was the sand fly/flea bites on my ankle and lower leg. Use baby oil on your lower leg when you arrive. I am susceptible to bites from mosquitos and biting flies. Some people get no bites.
My husband and I spent 6 nights here in April 2016. We love this place. We stayed in a standard treehouse which is very spacious, air conditioned, with king bed, couch, large bathroom with double sinks. Resort is very eco friendly, restaurant is fantastic. Service is great. Everyone is friendly and you could not ask for better service. All of the activities were well organized, well run and very enjoyable. The beach is beautiful, with warm ocean. Fresh water pool, very clean and nice. Great bar with happy hour. One of the best places we have ever stayed, and we travel frequently. Easy to recommend.
Absolutely amazing! Accommodations wonderful, grounds were beautiful! Staff were great and knew all our names! Meals were delicious and well presented! Tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly. Awesome week of vacation! Only downside was that it ended!
Our family stayed at Hamanasi in 2014 and didn't want to leave. Everything was perfect. Truly. The food, the room, the staff, the gorgeous tropical grounds that were very well kept and a fantastic bartender to top it all off! :) This place is perfect for families with older kids, or couples who are on honeymoon, or just a romantic getaway. We were in a spacial two room plus bath beachfront suite which worked great for our family. The tree houses are secluded - offering great privacy. If you want a 5 star experience with the natural beauty of Belize this is your choice. We would absolutely stay here again!
We had a 7 night mother-daughter trip at Hamanasi in April. It was just perfect! Even though we booked late and had to change rooms a couple times, the staff made it easy. Everyone was so friendly and helpful! You can tell they put in extra effort to get to know each guest. The food every day was fabulous and the rooms had more than we needed! Loved all the little touches like stainless steel water bottles, homemade fudge, and local soaps. We had 5 tours during our stay, all of which were great, but my favourites were the Mayflower waterfall hike, snorkelling, and the Mayan tour. The guides are fun and knowledgable. The property is well treed and natural, and always clean. And the pool is a great place to spend happy hour in the late day sun. Would love to return someday!
Best Family Vacation ever. A good place to get certified for diving also. The staff are so kind and patient and caring. Always ready to please. They catered to your tastes. Clean rooms and the tour guides are the best. On time and efficient.I would go to Hamanasi again in a heart beat.. Paradise on earth.
I'm writing this review almost a year later because I'm still homesick for Hamanasi and day dreaming about the resort. I had high expectations after reading the reviews online so we booked it for our honeymoon. All of my expectations were met or exceeded. I'm a person that loves details. I was impressed by everything from the homemade soaps to the presentation and quality of the food. This place is the perfect combination of relaxation and adventure!
The food was out of this world and I was so excited for every meal. Homemade breads, fresh juices, and yummy dinners.
The staff knew our names and attended to every request. My husband got sick one night and they brought all of his food to our treehouse including special items and tea. They set it up so nicely so we could still enjoy a nice dinner while he could rest. The service is amazing!
We loved the excursions and guides. We did scuba, snorkeling, and the cave hike. All were great !
I really can't say enough about this place. It the best adult summer camp you could imagine. I'm not the type that likes to repeat vacations as I love seeing new cities and cultures, but I do plan to go back to Hamanasi one day. It's the best !!!
Also we left our iPad there on the van and they promptly mailed it to us!
We chose hamanasi over dozens of other sites because we are a more active couple and sitting on the beach for a week wasn't our idea of the perfect honeymoon. From the moment we chose Hamanasi up until we left, the service and support was incredible. The staff bent over backwards to help us feel as comfortable as possible. It was the best care I have ever been in when on a vacation.
The resort itself is gorgeous. The treehouse rooms are tucked away into the jungle and create a beautiful and romantic room. The resort is only 25-30 rooms and it felt like there were 3 staff members to every guest. It's also small enough that you become familiar with almost every other guest on the resort.
As for the adventures, we were able to see some really cool sites. No adventure was larger than a group of 7 and some of the adventures we went on with just us and a guide. Regardless, you are well taken care of by the guides and never are left unattended.
Food: Awesome. That is about all I can say. Every meal was great and we never had a bad meal while there. My favorite was the kingfish. Absolutely delicious.
If you have never experienced southern belize I would highly suggest Hamanasi.
We recently returned from a wonderful vacation at Hamanasi. As you can tell from reading other reviews, Hamanasi checks all the boxes. From their Singanga restaurant, to their fun excursions, and to their great accommodations, everything is absolutely first-class. What makes Hamanasi standout is their staff. To a person, they are friendly, out-going, helpful and genuine. Conversations with their staff are to be enjoyed. One most certainly feels at home with Hamanasi. My wife and I like to be active and we've had nothing but fun on the excursions. This time around we snorkeled (hard to beat a day out snorkeling), went fishing, did a bioluminesence tour, went to the Mayan ruins and went cave tubing. The guides were excellent and they make it fun. I have no reservations about recommending Hamanasi and it will be on our agenda for future trips.
We had a fantastic experience at Hamanasi from start to finish. The manager Larry works hard to take care of every request you have. All of the staff are super friendly. The resort is kept up beautifully, very clean and very nice. Rooms are super comfortable with great beds. Food is excellent. Unlike other resorts in the area which tore down all of their trees, Hamanasi did not tear down their trees. They built their resort within the trees to give you a luxury jungle feel right on the Caribbean. Their tours are excellent. Victor is an awesome tour guide who knows tons about the birds, plants and wildlife. Our granddaughter loved him. Evan is a great dive master who really knows the reefs. Sam did a great job getting our 10 year old diving. Total five star. Highly recommend!!!!
It's been over two and a half weeks since I returned from Hamanasi and I can't stop thinking about the wonderful people, the setting, the garden to table food and of course the adventures. Thank you Hamanasi - we will see you in 2019!
This is a special place Everything is done right here. The rooms, the grounds , the restaurant, but especially the staff. An amazing experience. Great if you want adventure and just fine if you want to chill. This experience is so well thought out.
My wife and I had our wedding there in late June 2017. Great customer service, phenomenal experience. There certainly are bugs, but it's the rain forest/jungle, that should be expected. We did ATM cave tour and Tikal Tours and they were both great. Perfect spot for a low-key, intimate vacation.
Wonderful adventure family vacation with luxury accommodations and the best food you will ever have in Central America. We are very well-traveled and continually compare our experiences with this resort. The absolute best.
Amazing Dive and Adventure Eco Lodge. The service was incredible. Everyone learns your name. Food was great. Diving was awesome. Strongly recommend the ATM Caves and Black Hole Drop Adventures.
All around perfect and mind settling. Top notch hospitality, great food and a beach/jungle setting that will help you hit that reset button. The staff are always willing to do whatever is within their means to improve your stay and ensure you are comfortable.
I am a diver that is married to a non diver, therefore, I needed a place that allowed me to have adventures and offered the same for my wife. Hamanasi definitely met the bill. We stayed in the treehouse that immediately allowed me to tell everyone that my wife and I were on our honeymoon ( 39 years late ). The service is comparable to being on an exclusive cruise line with a small number of guests. I noticed right away that everyone made it a point to know our names and needs. The whole place was extremely clean and refreshing. We had no problem with bugs either at the resort or on our excursions ( we went in mid April ). The only problem, like a cruise, I think my wife and I gained weight from all the delicious food we tried. I would definitely recommend Hamanasi as a destination for those that are wanting a honeymoon destination, looking for diving adventures, jungle adventures or simply want quiet secluded place to relax from cell phones and technology.
We took a week vacation to escape the Canadian winter. Did not regret choosing Hamanasi! The staff (everyone from Housekeeping, Grounds, F&B, Front Office...) was perfect. Very attentive and made a point to learn our difficult French names. We felt like we were visiting a family member. The adventures are exceptionally well organized and they are super flexible, which is so important as we wanted to make the most of the sunny days. The Tree-House Villa was spotless and we learned that the furniture was made by the in-house carpenters. Amazing! We were impressed by the willingness to go fully eco-friendly (no one time-plastic, solar panels, organic garden, staff initiatives...) Merci beaucoup and we will surely come back!
We have never stayed at a resort that cares so much for their patrons than Hamanasi. The staff makes every effort possible to make each guests stay individualized to them and no request is pushed to the side. When we decide where to travel each year, we have always picked a different destination each year, that is, until we stayed at Hamanasi. Because of their friendly staff, they never treat you like an outsider/tourist, we have now returned on 5 separate occasions, and plan to return again next year.
Something for everyone! I have never had such a wonderful, relaxing, fun, invigorating vacation in my life until I stayed at Hamanasi. My husband, my 13 year old daughter and I stayed a week at this beautiful location and none of us wanted to leave. The staff, food, location left a lasting impression on us. We are looking forward to going back (which says a lot, we don't like to repeat any location because there are so many to see) Definitely worth the trip! If you are an adventurer, or a person that likes to relax, the Hamanasi can accomodate all of your wishes and needs. The staff makes sure of that. Enjoy!
Paradise is a word that falls short when used to describe Hamanasi Dive and Adventure Resort near Hopkins, Belize. We have experienced amazing sights and adventures thanks to the hospitality, wonders of the people of Hamanasi and Belize. We love it so much we are going back again this August (for the 5th time). You may have a chance to see manatees swimming by near the edge of the beach munching on sea grass, dolphins greeting your boat on its way to the dive or snorkeling site. The spectacular reef, crystal clear water and great beaches are wonders not to be missed. The reef off the coast of Belize is the most spectacular, creature filled reef we have snorkeled anywhere in the world.
Hamanasi offers exquisite beach front rooms or tree house accommodations nestled in the Belizean jungle. They also provide a variety of adventures that will keep you thrilled and as busy as you wish. The employees are friendly and helpful, that includes the talented chef whose offerings are unique and delicious. Want or need something else? No worries! Just ask. Did I mention that this is an eco-friendly resort? They firmly believe in keeping their country pristine. No styrofoam or trash littering their jungle or beach.
Best trip we've ever had due largely in part to this awesome hotel. They planned everything for us. We were able to relax while also having adventures. Food, service, room, excursions... everything was top notch! Favorite meal was the pulled pork sandwich for lunch! Favorite excursion was the night hike with Bern! Snorkeling was amazing too, Evan was a great guide! Look forward to going back some day!
Oh Hamanasi how you've pleased us! We tell everyone about you! From your glorious greeting with a lime fizz to our deluxe tree house room, there wasn't a single thing we lacked. Really, this place receives ***** for good reason! Such a beautiful place with equally beautiful people. Thank you for making our stay so perfect! Patty & Sal from Arizona
