Bottom line: Amazing! A vacation that exceeded our expectations!
Long story: My wife and I found out about Hamanasi online and were amazed by all of the outstanding reviews. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were consistently impressed by the service and hospitality provided by all staff members. I would try to mention specific names, but it just wouldn t be fair as everyone at Hamanasi balanced a professional, yet kind and laid back demeanor. We stayed for an 8day/7night package for our Honeymoon (May 4 11) that included 5 adventures. We opted for a tree house suite.
Arrival and Check-In: Absolutely seamless. Our arrival there was met by a courteous staff that effortlessly handled every detail of our check-in.
Room: Beautiful! Clean. Comfy bed. Hot shower. Cold A/C. No TV or Wi/Fi which was fine with us but may not be for everyone. Hamanasi put a few added touches in our room for our honeymoon which was a very nice and well received gesture.
Food: Fantastic! Breakfast lunch and dinner were all delicious and the desserts may have been our favorite :)

patio area that gives an amazing panoramic view. The landscaping is gorgeous and gives a very tropical and secluded feel. Hammocks everywhere. Very quiet and we had the poolside area to ourselves most
of the day when we weren t out on an adventure. Hamanasi makes much effect to lessen their carbon footprint and it shows. There is a very green bio-friendly mindset there. All outdoor areas were very clean and neatly landscaped. Pool was always clean and rarely had anyone in it.
Nightlife: Nope. Hamanasi does have a few evening things going on such as an acoustic guitar player and Garifuna dancers. If you re looking for a wild nightlife scene, keep looking. Nothing at Hamanasi and nothing out in the town (Hopkins). There is a good happy hour every evening with nightly specialty drinks.
Adventures: We had 5 adventures included in our package but only opted to do 4 to allow for an extra day of relaxation. We were very happy to have that extra chill day. I scuba dive and my wife does not.
So our first adventure was done separately as I went on a two tank dive trip and the wife went snorkeling. She said that the snorkel trip was amazing and she saw lots of marine life. I had a blast on the dive trip. I did two reef drift dives with good visibility and saw spotted eagle rays, loggerhead turtles, green moray eels, a nurse shark, lionfish, barracuda, lobster and many tropicals. Our next adventure was the Mayan ruin trip. Our guides were Hartfield and Kirk. Hartfield is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about the Mayan history and Kirk was also. Two ruins and both were fascinating in their own different ways. A long drive to get there but totally worth it. We were lucky enough to have Hartfield and Kirk again as our guides for the cave and jungle adventure. That was another fun adventure. You get a refreshing dip in a fresh water spring at the end. The last trip that we did was the Mayflower waterfall hike with Antonio. Antonio was excellent and the hike was exhausting but totally worth it.
Bugs: It s Central America so yes there will be bugs. That being said, there were no bugs in our room at any point. Also, we experienced a good on-shore wind the majority of our stay which kept any mosquitos and sand fleas away. That and we always had on some type of bug juice. Although we did not experience any type of bug issue, we may have just been lucky due to time of year and weather conditions.
Sun: Strong! Wear your sunscreen!
Overall, we had a fantastic trip and found Hamanasi and Belize to be a perfect Honeymoon destination for us. I wish anyone who chooses to go there the same great experience that my wife and I had. Have
fun!!!
