We stayed at the Hamanasi Resort back in August and had a phenomenal experience! The staff is super friendly and the customer service was top-notch. The rooms are beautiful - we loved how secluded our tree house room was. However it was still close to everything the resort had to offer - restaurant, pool, beach, etc. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.

We came for a belated honeymoon and were so happy we did. Everything was great, the food, the staff, the adventures, the grounds, the country. The drinks left little to be desired and we ended up wandering down the beach to other resorts for stronger beverages- which was fun as well. We did have a mix up with our return flight but Hamanasi dealt with it seamlessly and we were home a little later than expected but still had a great trip.

We went to hamanasi for our honeymoon and had the most amazing experience. It has the absolute perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, spectacular scuba diving, incredible staff, and food that is to die for!!! It isn't like other resorts that are so huge and crowded you have to fight for everything you do. The staff makes you feel like you are part of the family for the week, and would do probably anything for you to make the stay better. I absolutely recommend hamanasi to anyone, especially those with adventurous spirits or who like to scuba dive!

Best Resort in Belize - We are scuba divers and very few things stop us from getting in the water. This is our 4th trip to Hamanasi and our 1st with weather issues. The wind blew in from the east and limited our diving to only 3 out of 7 days. The staff at Hamanasi stepped up their game and found other land adventures that we had never considered. The diving on the 3 days was great but our trip to the Belize Zoo for the Director's tour was a real highlight! I would definitely recommend to keep that one as a must do. I would again recommend Hamanasi Resort as a great adventure resort.

We could not have a picked a better place for our stay in Belize. Yes, Hamanasi is a beautiful resort -- but it is the people who make it so special. Everyone genuinely cares and it shows! Personal, impeccable service, comfortable and luxurious rooms but not fussy, incredible food, wonderful adventures each day, and the Caribbean just steps away. It doesn't get any better! We hope to return one day!

Our Second Trip Planning Our Third

Our Second Trip Planning Our Third

We returned to Hamanasi for our second trip in a year. Once again, Hamanasi set the high bar for customer service. We stayed in a Beach Room on the second floor. We left the windows open and let the cool ocean breezes and the sound of the waves soothe us to sleep and accompanied our awaking. The service was top notch. The adventures were fantastic. We dove 3 days and enjoyed it immensely. The dive crew was great. We toured the ATM cave and went tropical birding. We also enjoyed the Bioluminescence tour in the Alexander Lagoon. That was truly magical. The guides are very engaging and the options for adventures are vast. The food choices are varied and fantastic. They have vegetarian and vegan options and always fresh seafood. June through December lobster is in season. The staff are out of this world friendly and engaging. I can't say enough positive things about Hamanasi. In fact, we are planning to return. There was always a hammock available. The place was fully booked, but did not feel full. The staff will know you by name very quickly.

Before you go, keep in mind a few things. First, the resort is fairly remote. It takes a while to get there. There is not much in the way of night life. There are no clubs. The town shuts down early. Folks are mostly early to bed and early to rise. Bring some books to read. There is only 1 TV on the property and Wi-Fi is only available at the big house if you must connect. I have Sprint and I had reasonable connectivity. Second, you are in the tropics, there are bugs. Be prepared. When the wind dies, there are sand flies. They are not fun to deal with. Third, there is a sargassum seaweed problem in the Caribbean. This goes for Hamanasi and Hopkins. The beach is not great for swimming, snorkeling, etc, although there are sea kayaks and paddle boards at the beach. You do need to travel for the adventures to the reef and the jungle. Some of them take a while to travel to. Fourth, Hamanasi does not control the weather. Sometimes the wind and weather prevent the boat from going to the reef. Fourth, although family friendly, there are not a lot of activities for small children. Be prepared to entertain them yourself and to control them. Most folks stay at Hamanasi to relax and enjoy life. Loud children at the pool generally generate complaints from other guests. Fifth, it is an inclusive fee, but there are some things that are not included. This includes alcohol, soda and drinks from the espresso bar. There are also some adventures that are available, but are not included in the reef and jungle package tour. These cost extra. It is very well explained on the web site.

Hamanasi, Hopkins and Belize are wonderful places to visit, but they are not for everyone. Know before you go. We are going again, and I suspect this may become a regular destination for us.

Hamanasi has done it again. This was our second visit and their standards remain consistent. They are wonderful at anticipating your every need and will go out of their way to make sure you are happy and comfortable. The food was wonderful and the beach hammocks are amazing. A massage therapist has been added and we enjoyed a beachfront massage while there. I can t say enough positive things about their dive crew. So professional and friendly. I always feel safe with them. We were sad to leave and as always wished we could have stayed longer. Can t wait for the next visit.

Perfect resort for a honeymoon getaway -

Perfect resort for a honeymoon getaway -

Our beachfront suite was charmingly decorated, bed was beyond comfortable, and had a porch view with a hammock to boot. Just a short walk from our suite took us to the main dining hotel where we could frequent the bar, get snacks, swim at the pool, and meet for adventures into the jungle or the barrier reef. Food was above average for an all-inclusive resort. We did not go hungry!

I recently spent 10 days with my wife at hamanasi and I honestly belive out of all of these reviews and mine, can not describe the amazing experience we had from landing to leaving.

Lots of reviews accurately described the beautiful rooms, landscape and adventures.

What I loved the most is they really did make you feel apart of their family. The staff ( every single one and to many names to mention ) was very warm and genuine in how they treated you.
It is not just the staff though. It is also all the towns people. The look on life that the people of Belize have is very diffrent then the western world. You are treated as a person in these small towns for who you are and not what you look like or have.
It was very refreshing to disconnect and remind ourselves of the real importent things in life. Family and community.
This resort has so many programs that help their community and the Belizean wild life.

The treatment you get can not be faked or replicated. The staff are treated amazingly by the resort and it shows in how the staff present themselves and the consistent smiles and warm vibes.

Also if you have any special requests or have any issues they will make it happen or make it right ASAP.

I spoke with couples at the resort who have been to over 30 locations in the world each, and both couples agreed this has been the best they have ever been treated.

My only regrets are i could not stay longer or tip as much as I felt the staff deserved.

If you travel don't let this place pass you by.

Our family vacation to Hamanasi was simply incredible. The kindness, dedication, personalization, and general caring from the entire staff made this trip among the best we have ever experienced. The entire staff clearly cares about their guests, and it showed from the minute we were picked by at the airport by Bern. Belize is a beautiful country and the Hamanasi staff made our visit a perfect one.

we have stayed at Hamanasi twice, on our first trip to Belize over 10 years ago, and went back two years ago with friends. Service has always been exceptional and the accommodations are fantastic. We stay in a treehouse and you feel like you are in the middle of the jungle, yet only 60 yards from the beach. My wife and I only snorkel (I know it is a well known dive resort), but staff has always been very accommodating in taking us on trips to snorkeling specific sites. We were there just prior to their big remodel, and the owner gave us a private tour fl the new construction in the main house, we can't wait to go back and see the changes. Hopkins to the north is a short bike ride away, and you can also head south on the bikes to the mouth of the Sittee River and hang out at The Curve. A great, eco friendly resort with great food, friendly staff and an abundance of adventures to enjoy both on the water and inland. We look forward to going back soon.

All of the staff are very helpful and friendly. The food is fantastic and the activities are top rate. Bikes and Kayaks are available for use anytime to explore. Definitely plan to return in the future. Highly recommend this resort for a wonderful vacation!

Describe my experience? To describe in detail this resort would be an undertaking for an avid blogger who's got a weekend to dedicate to how incredible this resort is. They have the most reliable customer service I'd ever received during a vacation, from any resort, across 14 countries. They care about their local community and environment! They did everything in their power to make my honeymoon the best 8 days of my life and they knocked it out of the park. My wife and I will be returning for our next big Anniversary! We've already started putting money away for it!

Thank you so much, Hamanasi!

Hamanasi is one of the best hotels I have ever been to. So great I keep coming back (been there 3 times, and will keep coming). It is nestled in between the jungle trees and right on the beach. So peaceful. Not only is it a beautiful hotel and setting they have the most wonderful staff and outstanding food and drinks. If you are looking for adventure or just a place to relax Hamanasi is the place to go. <3

My family stayed with our friends in two tree houses at Hamanasi over the New Year's holiday and had an absolutely amazing time. This is a stunning location with access to some of the most incredible dive/snorkeling/beach options you can find in North America. We went out on a boat excursion 4 out of our 5 days and could state that each one was the best we had experienced to that point in our lives. The last day Martin and Medal took our family out Lionfish and Lobster spear-fishing and grilled our catch (20+ fish total) on the beach at South Water Caye. The whole Hamanasi team bent over backwards in every way to accommodate our wishes and create a truly memorable holiday. Karina, who manages the concierge team, is extraordinary! This is truly one of the special spots in the world!

I took my 19 year old son and his best friend to Hamanasi in May of 2016 for an adventure vacation. It was the best ever! We hiked to the Black Hole, the Waterfall hike, and the Jungle and Caves hike, all of which were strenuous but the pace was perfect. The guides are knowledgeable and very helpful. We stayed in a deluxe treehouse which was perfect! The food is amazing, the staff is incredible, and the resort itself is beautiful. I highly recommend this resort, whether you dive or not.

Love Love Love Hamanasi... My wife and I went for our 5th visit this past February and had an incredible experience. We came with 8 other friends and we all had a fantastic time. The resort gives has a "Hemingway" feel of relaxed elegance that everyone enjoyed and we can't say enough about the staff... from check-in to check-out the entire staff is so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable... the variety of daily adventures sets Hamanasi apart from other resorts, something for everyone from diving, snorkeling, Mayan ruins, birding around the complex, tubing, horseback riding... everything and anything can be arranged. We especially enjoyed the snorkeling..ALL the guides are so knowledgeable of the area, hot spots for fish and coral viewing and were very much appreciated.. Then there is the excellent food, beautiful grounds, pool, hammocks on the beach... can't wait for our next visit!

One of the best trips of our life!
We had an incredible time at Hamanasi. The staff were very kind, attentive, and engaging. The food in the restaurant was five star, and cooked fresh every day. The service in the restaurant was impecable. The scuba diving was amazing! We scuba dived almost every day and loved the blue hole and half moon cay. We incredible journies both above and below the water. Scuba diver masters and captain were all kind, knowledgable, patient and professional. The room we stayed in was clean, large, well decorated and very comfortable. All of the travelers we met on the trip were kind and social. Highly recommend Hamanasi for everyone!

Oh what's not to like about Hamanasi? Situated in Hopkins village, Hamanasi is easily reachable from Dangriga by car. The resort is small in terms of guest capacity, which means it is peaceful and there is never a line-up for anything nor do they run out of amenities for guests. It is 42 acres on the ocean side with a private beach and docks. There is access to a gym offsite but easily walkable. The grounds are beautifully kept and include a wonderful vegetable garden and fruit orchard as Hamanasi seeks to be ecofriendly and promotes sustainability, i.e. the kitchen sources fresh food from its own garden. What makes this a stand-out experience is the warm, friendly staff who demonstrate the highest level of proficiency and service. Excellent bar, excellent restaurant, interesting wine list. Our treehouse room could not have been more elegant yet comfortable. I was very impressed with the dive shop and diving activities - what a great crew! Safety standards were of the highest consideration. Huge range of activities including culture tours, land hikes, cave tubing, SCUBA diving and snorkelling, chocolate factory visits, bike tours, birding, etc. Honestly it is a gem of a place to stay. I would return again and again.

We spent our honeymoon at Hamanasi and we can't speak highly enough about the experience. The grounds, staff, rooms, excursions, landscapes, food, drinks, and wildlife are all out of this world. Without a doubt, Hamanasi is now one of my favorite vacation spots of all time. While the adventures were all enjoyable (will get back to them in a bit), it was the customer service that really makes Hamanasi stand apart. Sheraine, who ran the front desk, was just a delight to work with. She was very helpful and she remembered our names for the entire week we were there, never had to ask for our names a second time. Lilly, an exceptional bar tender, also remembered our names after one introduction and she remembered what kind of drinks we all liked for the week. Hartfield was a fantastic tour guide through the Mayan ruins and he gets an A++++++ (you'll get the joke if you take his tour). Finally, Eric, Ector, and the rest of the dive guides took excellent care of our gear and took us on 5 very enjoyable dives over the course of two days of diving.

Speaking of diving, the diving in Belize is incredible! The water was unbelievably clear, ~100' visibility, and the reefs were gorgeous. The variety of aquatic life also left little to be desired. Had a black tip shark swim no more than a few feet from us, a nurse shark followed us around for what felt like 30 minutes, saw one of the prettiest sea turtles I've ever seen, and the icing on the cake was a manta ray swimming by right in front of us. As a side note, if anyone happens to find a dive camera in the reef, dropped mine while entering the water and lost all my pictures of the awesomeness.

The magical Mayan tour of Xunantunich is also a must see. The ruins are beautiful and it is unforgettable climbing up the stairs of the central building and looking down over the plaza. Hartfield really does shine as a tour guide. He clearly loves the Mayan culture and it makes his presentation very interesting.

Hamanasi really has something for everyone. We went primarily for the diving, but there were plenty of non diving activities for the whole family. The food is delicious, the amenities are great, the adventures are unforgettable, and the staff is unrivaled in terms of service. I 100% recommend Hamanasi resort to anyone looking for a vacation.

Every little detail was covered from the staff to the handmaid natural soaps. The grounds were immaculate, the food was out of this world, and everyone tried to remember our names. They even left a little hand-written note in our room congratulating us on our marriage. The package included a private dinner on the beach at sunset. It was straight out of a Conde Nast Traveller magazine. They even sprayed the beach regularly to keep the inevitable biting creatures to a minimum. My husband was ill when we arrived. They immediately made him fresh ginger tea. The guides on our amazing adventures were informative and friendly. Everyone, even the grounds keepers all greeted us as we walked around. They checked us in, made flight reservations, even repaired my sandal twice! I cannot imagine a better place and I cannot say enough good things about the Hamanasi. We met several other guests who had been there multiple times. One couple had visited nine times! My very highest recommendations to them!

We spent 8 days in Hamanasi for our honeymoon. It was a perfect vacation and we left feeling very impressed with the resort and its excellent staff.

The Hamanasi resort is a very organized operation and the staff pays meticulous attention to detail. Daily adventures (diving, snorkeling, caving, hiking, bird watching, mayan ruins tours, etc) always ran on time and were led by experienced, knowledgeable guides. We learned a great deal about Belizean wildlife and local culture from all of our guides Alfredo, Golden, Axel, Medal, and Hartfield. We really enjoyed all of these guys and were on a first-name basis with all of them throughout our week at the resort. The variety of the activities available ensured that every day of our vacation was different and unique. We usually returned to the resort after our morning adventures in the early afternoon, which gave us time to relax at the pool or go for a swim in the ocean. The vacation turned into the perfect combination of activity and relaxation. For anyone interested in a vacation that combines both active exploration and serene, peaceful relaxation, the Hamanasi resort is an excellent choice.

The resort grounds are carefully manicured and very well-maintained, another example of Hamansi s organization and keen attention to detail. We stayed in the Deluxe Treehouse (#18) and would highly recommend it. Our room was beautiful and very nicely adorned. We enjoyed relaxing in the Jacuzzi and the complimentary bottle of champagne that greeted us on arrival, which came as part of our honeymoon package. We slept very well and our canopy bed was quite comfortable.

The food at Hamanasi is excellent and represents very good value for the resort s all inclusive package. There was different, freshly baked bread for both breakfast and dinner every day, which was delicious and definitely a culinary highlight. Lunch included plenty of different options, all of which were quite good: burgers and sandwiches, salads, burritos and quesadillas. We enjoyed spicing our food up with Marie Sharp s special hot sauce a local favorite! Dinner featured a combination of western fare, fresh seafood, and local cuisine. The deserts were excellent, including the banoffee pie, key lime pie, brownie, and chocolate lava cake. Alcohol is not inclusive, but the prices for beer, wine, and spirits are all reasonable. We usually enjoyed a bottle of wine at dinner and the bartenders made a special drink for Happy Hour every day from 4 6 PM, which featured half-priced drinks. The happy hours were a lot of fun!

We loved Hamanasi (and the country of Belize) and would recommend it for honeymooners, retirees, and families. We met many fellow guests during our trip, most of whom were from various parts of the United States Seattle, California, Colorado, and Washington D.C., to name a few. The culture and history of Belize is very interesting and the wildlife, particularly the birds and the barrier reef, is stunning. Hamanasi is an excellent resort.

My husband and I cannot sing enough praises for Hamanasi. The staff, the food, the rooms, the amenities were all delightful. We stayed in the deluxe treehouse room and enjoyed it immensely. The service at Hamanasi is unmatched, from the waiters, front desk staff, bartenders, excursion leaders, and snorkeling staff. The snorkeling trips were our favorite, as well as all the kinds of wildlife we saw. Highly recommend bug spray and leggings/pants to help dissuade the bugs. We can't wait to find another time to go back for our anniversary in future years!

Best. Resort. Ever.

Best. Resort. Ever.

Great people that make you feel welcomed, at home and like family. Great local artistic food served in a casual, but elegant dining room. Awesome variety of jungle and sea adventures with knowledgeable and attentive guides. Extremely diligent and responsive to all their guests needs and wants.

Incomparible. When I want to go on a vacation, my first thought will always be Hamanasi.

Response to negative reviews: Don't listen to these people. Bring insect repellent. Doh. You're in the JUNGLE. The Dive Shop's rules are there to protect the guests. The food is amazing. Do the all inclusive package. It's quite reasonably priced. Beach and waterfront are gorgeous. They have complimentary kayaks and paddleboards. There's a local manatee or two that you might see if you go out on your own. If you want an cultural adventure somewhere new, this is your place. If you don't and you want the Hilton in New York, then GO to the Hilton in New York. Good grief.

A destination worth it's price!! Stayed in deluxe tree house, beside the food included in the package being delicious, the adventures and guides were TERRIFIC!! Booking agent or person beware of weather conditions and time of year. We only did the adventures offered in the package that the rain didn't affect but if your staying here and going to the blue hole (2-3 hour drive) during possible rainy season or expecting to dive, you might be disappointed. Maya tour with Hamanasi was very informative. If bringing little ones though make sure they have their electronic toys (Maya tour is 2.5 hours each way).
Hamanasi is a VERY clean, professional, and one of the most unique resorts one can experience.
Tipping is obviously nice but I did notice on our guides some did not tip. Your staff (if your an old school tipper like us) can be tipped daily or they provide envelopes where you can tip your bar, server, house cleaner, etc at the end. These people, aren't rotating so the employees from arrival to departure are ones you see daily.
Kid friendly but definitely a quiet place.

To dive this is the center you should choose, we did not stay at the resort but we hired them to dive. The diving information was complete, they make it easy for you.
They picked us up at our accommodation as we brought our own equipment, they stored and sweetened our equipment, they treated us very well at all times.
Enough 4: 1 dive guides, the boat is comfortable, they give you a towel, water, fruit (rest, between dives you do it on an island).
The facilities are outstanding.
If you don't want to dive in Belize, contract with them.

My wife and I just returned from our honeymoon at Hamanasi and we can not express enough how thrilled we are that we chose this resort. We have never been to a place where the staff goes out of their way to learn your names and goes above and beyond your expectations every day. In short, we highly recommend Hamanasi to anyone who is considering staying there.

My wife and I stayed in a Deluxe Treehouse and it was simply amazing. Being able to relax in the jacuzzi tub on the deck and gaze up at the night sky blanketed in stars is something I will never forget. We were able to pick out about 6 satellites on the first night. The accommodations are truly top notch but that they are almost an afterthought after the amazing 9 days that we had.

The reef and rainforest adventures that we embarked on were:

1. The Sittee River Canoeing
2. Cave and Jungle Tour
3. South Water Caye Snorkeling
4. Private Fishing (Specialty Tour)
5. Bocawina Waterfall Rappelling (Specialty Tour)

Every single adventure was above and beyond what we expected but most memorable will be the fishing trip and the waterfall rappelling.

My wife caught a nice sized Kingfish (King Mackerel) and the resort restaurant cooked it to perfection for us that night. Our guide brought us to Bread & Butter Caye for lunch in which we were two of 5 people on a tiny island which included a dog and a parrot. The fishing trip is highly recommended but of course there is always a chance that the fish won't be bitting; however, the chance to cruise around the barrier islands was absolutely amazing.

The waterfall rappelling was the most mentally and physically challenging of the tours. The hike to the top of the waterfall is every bit of intense as it is advertised and the rappelling is truly heart stopping but totally worth it!

The food at the restaurant is to die for. I have never been to a restaurant where every single menu item is lights out amazing. Look for my review on their own page (Singanga Restaurant).

The reviews on Trip Advisor definitely swayed our decision to honeymoon at Hamanasi and we are absolutely floored with our decision. We cannot wait to return to Hamanasi!

They do a nice job of keeping the facilities clean and upto date.

We stayed in August, rainy season. There were torrential rains every night but by day, all was clear and enjoyable.

I highly recommend Hamanasi!!!

Our family of 5 spent a week at this fabulous resort mid-December and loved every minute. We had 2 treehouses which we all found to be very comfortable and airy. The food was delicious, personnel were delightful and very helpful at all times. I'd definitely recommend Hamanasi.

Of all the resorts we've ever been to around the world, Hamanasi is the very best. The location and grounds are wonderful; the lodging and accommodations are unique and super comfortable; the activities are amazing. But what truly sets Hamanasi apart are the people who work there. From the time you make your reservation, they welcome you to the Hamanasi family and after the first day you feel exactly that way - as if you re a part of a big, happy family. They all know your name and what you like to eat for breakfast lunch and dinner, and you get to know so many amazing people you d never get to meet otherwise. So many friends and memories - we will definitely be back!!

We only used the bar and the resort's beach/pier for a couple of drinks - professional staff, clean, upscale with plenty of shade and chairs/hammocks. Would go again for a resort experience, though not for the real Hopkins experience.

TAINTED ALCOHOL ALERT!!!

TAINTED ALCOHOL ALERT!!!

The resort itself is very nice. The restaurant and bar however are another story. I went there for dinner and was very unsatisfied with the quality of my extremely over priced meal. I ordered a margarita with Patron that tasted horrible and gave me a wicked headache. The ingredients for the margarita mix and the tequila were extremely cheap/tainted. This resort is using off brand/tainted liquor and passing it off as name brand. Not to mention the fact that the server got my drink order wrong twice. I had to go to the bar myself to get it correct then it was absolutely terrible tasting.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!

UNBELIEVABLE!!!
We just returned from a five night stay in one of Hamanasi's luxury tree houses and words cannot do the place, the staff or the experience justice.

If you find yourself in need of some serious fun, relaxation, and pampering in a gorgeous tropical setting, Hamanasi is for you.

From the gorgeous native mango and almond trees and brightly colored hibiscus to the incredible food and elegant rain forest plantation type decor, there is clearly a lot of attention being paid to the overall guest experience at Hamanasi. We did not want to leave!

But even better than the asethetics and beautiful seaside location complete with hammocks strung between the lush palm trees, is the close team at Hamanasi - incredibly kind, patient and extremely helpful individuals who are genuinely pleased to serve their cherished guests. We were greeted by our first names at each and every encounter. True, Hamanasi is a small, boutique resort with roughly 28 rooms, but it is clear that each guest is very important to each Hamanasi team member.

The team members who really left an impression on us include:
Hartfield, our awesome van driver who drove us to the resort from the airport - he was a wealth of information about Belize, Hopkins and the culture, citrus industry, etc.
Then we met Stacey at the front desk and she was very welcoming and personally took us to our beautiful tree house among the tropical trees and birds.
Abby, our server for several dinners, was very personable and accommodating, definitely set a great tone for our dining experiences.
Ronnie, our server for several breakfasts, was charming, engaging and very service oriented. He would always ask "so, Lynn, what's the plan for today?"
Dan, our Mayan ruins tour guide, was incredible! A human encyclopedia of knowledge who made learning about Mayan practices and beliefs very interesting. He was AWESOME!
I also had the opportunity to interact with a few of the friendly and very hard working groundskeepers/gardeners, one of whom went out of his way to show me how he grafted two portions of mango trees together into one stronger tree.
Our snorkeling adventures were spectacular because of the eagle eyes and great guidance of our dive guides, Beaver, Bevin and Neal. They work very hard to fit us with the proper gear and keep us safe out in the ocean. Their sheer love of the ocean and its magnificent creatures was contagious. They pointed out a nurse shark, barracudas, squid, lobsters, sting rays, eagle rays, beautiful coral and sponges and dozens of gorgeous fish.
Maureen in the Adventure Center was also very helpful to us in setting up our many adventures each day. She was patient, knowledgeable and honest about what we could expect to see. There are dozens of fun adventures to choose from - cave tubing, kayaking, hiking in the rain forest to a waterfall, snorkeling, scuba diving, a Mayan chocolate making tour (very fascinating! Che 'il makes chocolate from their organic cacao tree farm just like the Mayans did thousands of years ago - you make your own chocolate bar!).

So if you love luxury, natural beauty and superior food and service, you need to book Hamanasi now! You will not regret it!!!

We went to this resort with our two girls, ages 10 and 12. I can't say enough good things about this resort. The service, the location, and of course the guides who were so helpful and educational on all things Belize! We didn't do a package as we wanted some down time but went on three excursions and had an amazing time. The treehouse room was perfect for our family and so well appointed in the jungle. Huge iguanas hung out on our balcony :)The pool was great, the food was great and the attention to detail was unlike anything we have experienced before. Even though it was the beginning of the rainy season, the weather was perfect- some rainy days but not a lot. We can't wait to go back!

Among my favorite Hamanasi stories is one told on ...

Among my favorite Hamanasi stories is one told on a boat, approaching the Hopkins coast after a day out on the cays and the barrier reef. "It's easy to see it, even from here," one of our Hamanasi snorkle guides said. "It's the one with the trees."
This review is overdue, since I've been back more than a month from my first trip to Belize and Hamanasi. It doesn't matter, though, because memories that include the little snippet of conversation on the boat endure more than those from any other travel experience I've had.
It's the one with the trees. When the owners of Hamanasi put their ideals into place, creating a one-of-a-kind adventure resort without obliterating some tract of oceanfront land to do it, the trees were the winners. The tree house rooms at Hamanasi are more than just idyllic, romantic accommodations. They are emblematic of what makes this place so special. The density of the rainforest that Hamanasi's founders preserved insulates guests from one another in a most unexpected way. Emerging in the morning, we saw only trees, sky and birds. The tropical mockingbirds provide a continuous reminder that you are in ... the jungle.
It is almost shocking that a guest can descend a flight of wooden stairs, and walk a few yards through the forest, to the main Hamanasi lodge that at night could seem like miles away. It's one of the best illusions that the place has to offer.
So many reviews on this site load up with superlatives ... friendliest, most delicious, most beautiful, kindest, warmest, most exciting. Good reasons are behind every one of them. This really IS the best. A formula is at work at Hamanasi, and it works. It's not some sort of contrivance (like, say, the Disney formula is). It is a set of ideals that originate with the owners, are transmitted to their staff members who have always been their neighbors, and wind up in the memories of every guest.
My first morning brought a surprise, when I wandered off through the forest to the hotel's organic farm. No, I hadn't read enough about Hamanasi to know that it was there. Jesse, whose parents are Honduran and Guatemalan but who seems purely and proudly Belizean, took me on a tour. He showed me, in addition to the dozens of crop varieties, the serial compost bins, the worm farm, and the rest. This is not some hobby garden. It's the place where Hamanasi grows the food for its guests. What doesn't grow there is purchased locally, from Hopkins fishermen or nearby farmers. We make such a big deal in the U.S. these days about locally sourced food. These people have had it down for a long time.
I've never stayed anywhere, not in the whole world, where staff members at a hotel unfailingly knew my name from the very first meeting. Not just one or two, and not just for a day, but everyone, and for all the time I was there. That's another Hamanasi story that sticks. When we wound down toward our last day -- my wife Sherri and I, daughter Liz and her best friend Hope, all together on Liz' Make-A-Wish trip -- we were members of a new community, a new family. Now, try that somewhere else. I have, but I've never found it. At Hamanasi, it comes naturally.
All that you read here about the food, and the way it is presented, and the people who bring it, and catch it and grow it, is true. Every menu at every meal is pure joy. And everybody, from the guests at a nearby table to the people in the kitchen, knows it.
Every tour we took was like a vacation within a vacation. The cast of characters always changed, and each new set and staging was fresh and new and exciting. Many of those trips were eastbound, to the reef, and the abundance of marine life, including surprising encounters with aquatic mega-fauna, that make Belize a favorite. Before I max out, I'll write that our first Hamanasi experience is only the first of many. Once you go, you WILL go back.

We chose this resort based on trip advisor reviews...

We chose this resort based on trip advisor reviews and can confirm that all the outstanding comments are accurate and reflective of the experience we had. From the moment our small plane landed in Dangriga we were made to feel like family. The staff is beyond gracious, welcoming, and personable. The company has spared no expense in ensuring their team is creating an environment that is inviting, interesting, and enjoyable. We chose the all-inclusive package, which included an outstanding selection of meals, daily excursion packages that were challenging enough for a family of four with a 10 and 11-year-old children and interesting enough to keep the adults engaged and involved the entire time.

I cannot say enough about the tour guides and the team. They get to know you by name. They are omnipresent and yet neither intrusive nor oppressive. Tips are included in the pricing and are pooled for distribution, thus it is far more about a team approach to customer service then about individual performance. Nevertheless, each of the guides we had was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and took the time to point out wildlife, attractions, and were well-versed in the locations we went to.

The resort provides minivans which were comfortable and clean. Lunches were provided picnic style when away from resort and the tour guides sat with us to discuss what we're seeing all along the way. We even found ourselves unexpectedly stopping to look at crocodiles and egrets at the side of a road at one point.

Though there is a lot of driving involved, the Mayan ruins excursion was undoubtedly our family's favorite. Numerous rain forest hikes and other natural wonders of Belize were local to the resort and well worth any time spent on the road.

Overall, her family had an amazing adventure. I cannot wait to go back to this resort.

The service is exceptional - everyone is friendly, helpful and willing to go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The resort is small (~20 rooms) so staff know you by name. They actively seek feedback and are quick and effective with response to any concerns. For example, I had an ear issue while visiting and my MD recommended a specific antibiotic eardrop. The front desk went out of their way to call every pharmacy in town and even sent a driver to check pharmacies in Dangriga as well. Staff also followed up the next day to make sure I was doing okay.

The rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. Air conditioning keeps them nice and cool. [Be aware that there is no Wifi or electronics in the rooms -- we enjoyed this but know that some people may not appreciate it.] We stayed in a beachside room, so we could see the pool and ocean from the deck.

The food at the restaurant (Singanga) was delicious and fresh, with many items caught that day or picked from the organic garden on site. There are enough items on the menu that we never had the same thing twice, even after 6 days. The service was wonderful with very friendly servers.

The adventures were enjoyable. We did the Mayflower hike which was challenging but fun; the guides were funny and very knowledgable. Diving in the southern reef was beautiful and the captains/dive masters made the experience fun, easy and comfortable. We went canoeing down the river, which was quiet and relaxing but didn't see as much wildlife as we had hoped.

Finally, we really appreciated the efforts to be eco-friendly, including recycling bins and re-usable containers. They also support numerous local charities (education, healthcare, environmental and animal rescue) and have matching donation programs.

Every detail is accounted for. Our stay was personalized and we felt very welcomed and pampered. From the moment we arrived at the airport, Antonio greeted us and treated us to cool towels. He educated us on the area on the drive to the resort. The front desk greeted us and warmly welcomed us, making sure we were fed after the process of getting there! The rooms are beautiful and clean. We stayed on the beach and the tree house, both were fantastic. The food was delicious and fresh. Portion sizes are perfect (but you can get more/less if you want). They are willing to accommodate your eating preferences in any way. The property/grounds are beautiful and clean. You are in the jungle and the beach all at the same time. The excursions are very fun and educational. Every guide is very knowledgeable, and on the Maya ruins tour, Axel and Angel were a wealth of information. During our ride there and back they taught us about Belize and its culture. After we arrived at our location they overloaded my brain on Mayan culture which was fascinating.
Hamanasi also works with locals to provide lunch and shopping while on the excursions, thus giving back to their community. We stopped at a lovely cafe called Adries and had the most delicious lunch.
The place is very calm, quiet and relaxing. What a hidden gem.

My wife and I stayed in one of their treehouses and absolutely loved it. We had the entire treehouse to ourselves and it was surrounded by jungle - very private. Treehouse was decorated beautifully. We ate three meals a day in the restaurant in the lodge and the food was incredible. I particularly liked the nice selection of fresh juices and fresh-baked breads for breakfast. We had a great time on our excursions - snorkeling, exploring a cave, hiking to a waterfall, visiting Mayan ruins. And the service at the resort was impeccable - every single staff member we interacted with was professional and friendly. We can't wait to come back!

The pictures on the website just do not do it justice! The property is immaculate, service perfect and the staff gives 5 star service.

We stayed in a Deluxe Treehouse. The room was immaculate. I cannot say enough about the staff at this property. The food was delicious and varied each day.

I highly recommend the adventures! We are avid scuba divers and did a ton of diving and snorkeling. We also went Zip Lining at Angel Falls (WOW!!!), Jungle Horseback Riding, Tropical Birding (yes, TOUCANS!!!) and a Private Sunset Cruise. They were all perfect!!

The motto for this property really should be "When you're here, you're family" because that's what it felt like. Our first time to Belize was fantastic and we cannot wait to come back!

We booked 4 rooms as we are a large family and the overall experience from check-in to check-out was so smooth. 10/10 recommend Hamanasi for couples and families of all ages.

**Please be prepared to tip the staff in cash. We saw a lot of guests who did not tip the boat crews/servers etc. It is customary to tip the crew/service staff. American money is easy to transact in Belize and very much appreciated. The staff took amazing care of us.

Excellent dive company. The staff is super friendly and absolutely were instrumental in making it such a good experience. Evan was our dive master and gave one of the best pre dive briefings you could ask for, made sure everyone in each group was comfortable and ready to go before starting the dives, and spotted a bunch of cool sea life. Dive was slow paced to see everything and very safety conscious. "Beaver" and Erik geared us up with absolutely no rush- these guys will not send you out without the right gear for you personally. Other staff was great too, just those guys were the ones we worked with the most. The BCs were new looking, the only thing I wished for was integrated weights instead of weight belts. Reg and BC were well adjusted for easy breathing with no sticky dump valves. Wetsuit was a little tired but after the first dive I realized it was pointless and ditched it for the second dive. You don't need one here, wasn't cold in the slightest without it. The captain took us to fun sites with lots to see. Really, if you're on the fence, it's a fun easy safe dive and you'll leave wishing you were coming back tomorrow.

Hamanasi is everything its 5-star rating on TripAdvisor represents it to be: a beachfront boutique hotel, with incredible customer service, fun adventures, and delicious food and drink. I just returned from my honeymoon at Hamanasi and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quaint, quiet, and relaxing vacation in Central America. There are no TVs or WiFi in the rooms, but my wife and I, millennials both, found it a perfect excuse to unplug. In fact, we've been back home for a week now and haven't even turned on our TV--we're loving it!

We had read outstanding reviews of this resort and fully expected that our own experience would not match the hype. Boy, were we mistaken! Hamanasi is all that we read in the previous reviews and greatly exceeded our expectations! All of the checkboxes for a perfect vacation were checked: beautiful location, elegant resort with a laid back vibe, delicious meals, interesting tours and the best snorkeling on healthy reefs full of gorgeous fish. The staff at Hamanasi couldn t do enough to be sure that our experience was special, from immediately knowing us by name to remembering our idiosyncratic culinary requests. Everything was spotless and so well maintained, no feat, given that we were in a tropical wind blown environment. We were always greeted by everyone with a smile. The guides were amazing, filling our heads with so much interesting knowledge about wildlife, flora and fauna, Mayan and Garifuna culture and customs and history. Hamanasi also prides itself as a sustainable eco-friendly resort and they don t just talk the talk, they walk it .

Highlights of our 8 day stay were amazing snorkel trips, Monkey River expedition, cave tubing, Mayan Chocolate tour, and the food! Every meal was so delicious and we never grew tired of the menu offered at the Singanga Restaurant on-site. We particularly enjoyed the time spent with Victor and Arne-they are both very special guides.

We had mentioned that we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and we were surprised with a chilled bottle of delicious champagne!

We stayed in a beachfront room which was extremely comfortable and convenient. We were impressed that there was an endless supply of hot water for the many showers we took after all of our adventures. Sunscreen and bug repellent are a must, hence, the need for multiple showers each day.

Don t miss the opportunity to take a tour of their gardens. We were escorted by Lawrence whose explanations of the techniques used and variety of plants were fascinating. It was obvious that he took a great deal of pride in his work as did everyone we encountered.

If you seek a tropical paradise that combines the best of water and land adventures with a beautiful facility, delicious food and the friendliest staff you will ever meet,, then Hamanasi is the answer. We are sure that we will return there again some day.

We just returned home from a week at Hamanasi! Whatever our expectations were for our week there...they were exceeded! The facility is fantastic.....the rooms are comfortable and the staff is beyond accommodating. The food for every meal was great! There is plenty of variety for every taste....but they will also make whatever they can for you within reason. They even made me a custom birthday cake which was delicious! Everything on the grounds is kept up meticulously. The adventures are all exciting and the choreography of every guests schedule is handled efficiently. The reef snorkeling was the best we have ever experienced......in part due to the fantastic health of the reef and also thanks to France for his wonderful guidance on all of our trips! We were a multigenerational family traveling together and all of us felt special, cared for, and attended to our week at Hamanasi!

This is the best vacation resort for people who want fresh air, sea, mountains, really good people and excellent food and drinks.
Lots of great activities. Informative, kind tour guides! The Belize people are so smart, kind and helpful.
Most memorable was swimming near sea turtles and sting rays, swimming in waterfalls and learning to make chocolate from the fruit of the cacao tree.
Loved our deluxe tree house! Loved the food (I'm a vegan, but traveled with seafood and steak lovers, and they were really happy too). The service was excellent, better than the Ritz Carlton anywhere.
