The rope swing is permanently closed and the slides that are awesome close at 4 not 5 like all the rest of the signs tell you. This caused some confusion for me but that s ok. When COVID-19 is over than this hotel will be great.

The Grand Wailea is our favorite place to vacation and like no other we've found. The ambiance is so relaxing and beautiful, The grounds are immaculate, food is delicious. Worth every penny to stay here if you want an all-around excellent vacation in Maui.

Rooms were ok, but for an upscale resort that charges a resort fee, it was a joke. Couldn't reserve anything via phone or concierge, got transferred all the time. Went next door to Four Seasons for dinner and you could see a stark contrast in quality between the Grand Wailea and the much more professional, friendly FS staff. The koi pond is amazing, though.

This place is really something to behold. It is grand, indeed. Powerful artwork abounds. The atrium open to the sky with pools open skyward as well is stunning. The covered bar in the middle with classic Hawaiian architecture adds powerful touch as well. Had a really nice lunch. To top it off got to ride a cruiser bicycle waiting for our car from valet!

A beautiful hotel with great amenities. The staff is happy to have you there, so they are always helpful, friendly and cheerful. There are seven swimming pools and an excellent swimming and sun bathing beach with nice soft fluffy sand, plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas.

Meh. Resort fee per day PLUS $30/day MANDATORY valet parking?! Crazy. I don't even want to use valet, I'm coming and going a few times a day and have to stand around and wait and then be expected to tip every time.

This is a "Waldorf-Astoria" property? Really? Rooms were not impressive, smelled of mold, bed is uncomfortable and the place was packed with kids. Next time we're staying at the Fairmont down the road. Only saving graces were the attentive staff and the spa.

The best hotel I ve stayed in! Room was modern and clean with amazing views over looking the resort and beach. Staff were welcoming, helpful and informative. Short walk to shops and restaurants. Beach yoga is a must. We will be definitely coming back!

I stayed Grand Wailea many years ago in Maui. It was wonderful fantastic experience. Staff is trained well to our needs. The SPA is fantastic experience if you are not too shy. Sink into wonderful dips including hot and cold dips. and afterwords Massages and sit in a patio overlooking the gigantic pool leading to the beach.
Who wants to leave the property I did not want to but had friends living on the island.
Much lush and water falls And great location you are treated like an owner.

All I can say one of the best places to stay besides Aulani Hotel in Oahu
( I Edited additional)
I was shocked to see the less reviews all I can say is my experience was very good to excellent. I guess it depends on the time of day and year for some other Guests. Always state your reason why you are staying and tip well it will bring you a better response as always at any resort.
I have been mistaken for local boy (man) too and treated very well. Mahalo!

The People and the Organization is tops with me as they are socially responsible.

If you are looking for a place for an exciting and relaxing vacation, Grand Wailea is the place to go. Grand Wailea is located on the island of Maui. It is a Waldorf Astoria Resort and is one of the top 10 hotels in Maui. Whether you are traveling with a group or not, Grand Wailea has a suitable room for you. With over 15 types of rooms to choose from, each with its unique design, you will not regret going. Not only are the rooms at Grand Wailea excellent, but they also have many tasty food choices. The resort provides food originating from all over the world. As long as you are in the resort, you are guaranteed to have lots of fun. While the resort s pools and beaches are amazing, Grand Wailea can also help you arrange a trip to tour the island. The next time you visit Hawaii, make sure you stay at Grand Wailea. It is only 30 minutes from the airport and it even has on-site rental cars to make it more convenient for guests. From my own experience, I can guarantee that you will not regret going to this amazing resort.

Most stars are for their service and sightseeing. The staff are so nice and caring. Good food, especially fish. The resort is too big with different zones, 5 pools and lots of rooms. You might be lost in there!

This place is immaculate! You will be hard pressed to ever find the kind of service and smiles you will receive here. The whole resort is kept in tip top shape and you can see everyday how it's kept in this conditions by the countless hours the staff here work to keep the grounds so clean and beautiful. Every person on staff here goes out of their way to make sure that you have the most enjoyable vacation that you can possibly have. I wish I could rate this 10 stars...that's truly how nice this place is!

Everyone is super nice. Our first room so so however as soon as they could they moved us to another room that was perfect for us.

The real test was hurricane Lane.

Everyone includinding managers were working around the clock to make sure we were safe and comfortable. They even opened up the grand ballroom and provided delicious food when all of the resturants and grocery stores were closed.

The beach is has soft sand and clear water. The view is great.

We will stay here again.

The resort is massive (hence "grand") so finally got my bearings after a few days. Awesome pools & slides, nice private beach (long strip) with chairs/umbrellas (make sure to ask if you need one as it's included in the resort free), lots of kid activities (look for "The Rock" for games, toys, art activities). Pricey restaurants, but nice that kids (age 5 or less) can eat free in some of them. Shopping strip mall nearby (5-10 min walk), but there are also some shops in the resort as well. You can rent a car from the site (plan ahead in case they run out of cars).

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights as part of our honeymoon vacation. We loved every moment of it! I have never been to a hotel with friendlier staff, and I mean everyone! Not a single person working in any part of the hotel was less than amazing and kind to us! The room was perfect for us and had an amazing ocean view and a balcony with a private cabana and seating area. We watched the most beautiful sunsets form our ocean view room and the beach just outside of the hotel. The restaurants at the hotel had really great food, and the concierge was able to help make reservations when needed. We loved having drinks and sushi at the sushi bar in the middle of the lobby. They played live music here every night. The pools were so much fun, a great time for adults and children alike! There is also an adult only pool for those who prefer no kids. The other great option is the beach that is just across the walkway outside of the pools. You can rent beach chairs and umbrellas for free or pay to have a private cabana. The grounds are covered in beautiful gardens and wildlife and make for a great evening walk. The spa on the first floor was incredibly relaxing and tailored to everything we asked for. The price to stay at this hotel is high, but it s well worth it if you re looking for a relaxing and all inclusive place to stay. We will definitely be back in the future!

Being a Waldorf Astoria property, the Grand Wailea did not disappoint. The best part of this property is that it is really kid friendly from the pools to the beach. The staff was very friendly including the bell and valet captains. Thanks to a person at the valet desk we found a great breakfast place in Kihei that we would have never known about. Also, everyone was so nice and acknowledged my 2 year old. We had a suite and it did not disappoint. Definitely a great place to stay at if not the best place in Wailea.

Just an amazing place. The rooms are nice, but really the whole experience makes it 5 stars. Great staff, great bars and dining, and probably the best hotel pool in Maui. Great beach views and easy beach access. It's a huge place but that didn't diminish the experience in any way. Perfect for romantic getaways or family vacations. We are already dream of returning.

We had a completely wonderful stay. Everything was perfect, and I would absolutely reccomend this resort to anyone. The beach was amazing, the pool was incredible, our room exceeded all expectations, and the staff were an absolute joy. If you are considering staying here, do yourself a favor and book it now! You are going to have a spectacular time.

Beautiful, huge hotel with fantastic grounds. Be sure to eat at Humahuma and spend a few hours walking the grounds. There is a small shopping center right next door which has an ABC Store. Great for souvenirs and bottles of Maui Dark Rum.

I've stayed at the Grand Wailea many times now. It's my favorite place to stay on Maui. The rooms are beautiful and clean with great views. There are good, albiet expensive dining options. The beach is steps away from the pool. My only disappointment on my recent trip is that the activity pool is very murky and seemingly lacking in filtration. I don't know if it's just because it's overly crowded or because they're letting it go in preparation for a renovation, but it's getting fairly gross.

Came here for a luau. It was phenomenal. The show was awesome the sunset was so beautiful. And the hotel there I promise you I will stay there the next time we come down. It's it's own little shopping mall and Waterpark. Love being able just to walk through here after the show I was amazed for everything that we saw. Jesse and Paula engineer 25th wedding anniversary . will definitely be back see you soon

I just finished coming down/withdraw from leaving this place. I have Hilton Diamond status and they treated my family exceptionally well. What a beautiful place. One of the only places in the world I plan to revisit regularly.

The grounds are beautiful and the people are friendly. The food is good but expensive I hence why I docked a star. The hotel is also currently under construction and there biggest pool is closed.

Heaven on Earth!! Had a room on top floor overlooking the ocean and it was such a pleasant sight to wake up to and fall asleep watching! Resort was quiet despite the rush but it never felt crowded. The place is huge!! Top notch service from check-in to check-out! They took real good care of their guests! Everyone there looks out after you, always ready to help! Had all services onsite from arranging a trip to planning what to do to renting a car! Attended their Luau on the night before my flight! Had a great time meeting others, watching the sun set, having excellent foods, excellent entertainment & authentic Hawaiian show, and even got a temporary tattoo! I will be back to Maui & I will definitely stay in the Grand Wailea Maui! Highly recommend to anyone visiting!

Unbelievably beautiful garden and resort to walk-through! We love going to the church and watching the gigantic koi fish in the pond! I wish they had day passes for the pool because the pool is so much fun with one of the worlds only water elevators

We stayed here for our honeymoon during Thanksgiving. The rooms were nice & hotel staff was great. The pool and beach filled up fast so if you want to get good spots at either or both you will have to get down there early to grab spots. The hotel was in a good location right on one of the nicest beaches on Maui and close enough to other various restaurants that were in walking distance or a short cab ride. Food was a bit pricey but then again we were staying at a resort but it was also tasty. Would definitely stay here again

My family & I used over 500,000 HHonors points to stay y the Grand Wailea. We had been to Maui twice previously but not stayed on the Wailea side of the island.
Pros: The Grounds were beautiful. The beach was very easy to access & a very good stretch of beach.
Cons: Rooms are very outdated in our opinion. The rooms definitely sow the facilities age. My assumption is that only a handful of the 800+ rooms actually look like the photos online & ours definitely did not look the the photos online. There was only a single A/C vent in the room so keeping it cooled to a comfortable temperature at night was difficult. There was no A/C in the bathroom which coupled with the hot light bulbs around the mirror made it unbearable for my wife & daughter to get ready for evenings out.
The worst part of our stay was the beach service staff. They allow a 60 minute timeframe between use of the seats. I was there at opening to secure the seats we wanted for the day. About 30 min into some pool time, the attendant sought my wife out to inquire if we were done with the beach chairs. She said no & that we were headed back out shortly. Within 10 min from that point, she returned to the chair to find our belongings tossed in the sand & the chairs laid back as if they were available.
We brought this occurrence to management attention & they moderately addressed it.
Supposedly renovations are in the very near future, however, I m not sure that we would give the facility another chance.

Went for a luao here. Its a celebration of tge culture of Hawaii. Got to know many fables from Hawaiian past. The hula dance, fire dance, aero gymnastics were the main highlights of the event. The food was a little underwhelming. We were looking forward to experience the best fish preparation. The mahi mahi was dried out and not satisfactory. The performances made up for the okayish food.

The hotel was wonderful and the staff, especially Leonora, made the trip top notch. She was so sweet and helpful for our whole week at the hotel. We had everything that we needed and she kept the room beautiful and well stocked. Thank you for a great week!

Very recommended beautiful, is one of the first hotels and more expensive in investment, from there its great beauty and importance x its great cultural content, its sculptures, paintings are made by artists. One of the best places I saw on Maui.

What a hotel. We were there for our honeymoon of course. Rooms were what is expected for a top notch hotel. Every room has a great view. We were just married and did not expect so many family's. I have to say we still had a great time. It is the best hotel in Maui by far. Service, style and everything is what is expected. The pools are a great time, tunnels and chutes remind you of of a younger day. Fun for kids and fun for adults. Hotel food is fair at best, Its good by so over priced you expect more. Explore Maui for what it has to offer, Great sushi place- Sensei in Kihei, 2 miles for the resort is a place you should visit. Local but 5 star! If we ever go back to Maui I would never stay any where else.

This is an absolutely beautiful resort! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Upon check in we were offered a free upgrade from a parking lot view to a bottom level garden view. The individual behind the counter also offered an upgrade to ocean view for an additional $60.00 a night. We decided to decline the ocean view upgrade and accept the garden view. What a great decision this turned out to be! Even on the bottom level garden view you can see the ocean quite clearly. If you don't mind being on the bottom floor save some money each night and use it toward the spa ! Bottom line I would highly recommend this resort and would definitely stay here again.

Terrible check in process. Lines and rooms not ready till hours after check in. As a diamond guest who travels to tons of hilton properties, this is way over hyped. Service has been poor, rooms are dated, and broken items inside. I highly recommend Westin or Hyatt on Lahaina side instead. Not worth the money or points.

This is the largest property in the Wailea area with 787 rooms. The resort is on 40 acres and has multiple swimming pools. They have waterslides, sandy lagoon pools, kids pools, adult pool, caves, hot tubs, and a fishpipe (amusement ride consisting of an inflated, rugby ball shaped, transparent, two skinned ball suspended between two large wheels on a frame. Up to 3 people can enter the ball, water is added and the entire ball is spun in place) They have several restaurant options and the best spa in Maui.

I went here for the Luau, I had a great time with my family! The food was good, some were bland but the meats are fantastic! The entertainment was great, it was a good experience and I would go back again the next time I return to the island.
