Went to the resort for the Grand Wailea Luau. The resort is beautiful and sits over a very beautiful beach. The Luau began as a complete joke. With them having us wait in lines for over an hour just to assign tables. Once you do get in the open bar was pretty Great the best being the Pina Coladas but the food was just okay at best. Especially compared to all the good food at near by beach restaurants. The show was great and kept you very captivated while telling about the beautiful Hawaiian cultural and history. Better organized and food and I'd give the event more stars.

Great hotel, truly a story book setting and feel. Rooms are nice and clean. Beach is so clean the turtles swim through it. Only thing that I could say negative is that everything costs... More than average American dollars. That is to be expected at the Waldorf.

It's got a beautiful view, if course. The guava thyme mule at the main bar is delicious. The spa is incredible. There are five themed pools to soak in, plus a wet and dry sauna, not to mention the salt scrubs and other services. Although a bit pricey, I recommend.

We were here for 6 nights. Pools are an amazing attraction for the little ones. A majority of the people here have children. Great shops. If you eat outside DO NOT LEAVE YOUR FOOD UNATTENDED.. THE BIRDS WILL DEVOUR IT. Sorry for the all caps but I cannot stress that enough. Now if you are trying to save money then this is not the place for you. Breakfast is $17 a plate. If you crave a can of Coke it will bury you at $3. I was not concerned about costs as I wanted to enjoy myself and not worry about expenses. Ok, need to know info.. no self parking..only valet. They charge $30 a day for valet, but be sure to tip your driver couple dollars is sufficient. Resort fee is $30 a day, includes extras like wifi, pro photo shoot, etc.. The map of the grounds looks like a cartoon..nearly worthless, but just ask the front desk or concierge.

Expensive, which is fine if that's your thing. It's an amazingly beautiful place, well manicured. The beach is awesome. The pool and hot tubs are great. Food does not match the price. Room and service are good.

This is an amazing resort. There are a variety of room types available. You can be in the big building or in little bungalows. There are great beaches and pools and there are even waterslides and rope swings. I was here for a work retreat and loved the resort.

Place is empty. Sat around in lobby for 4 hrs waiting for room to be. Along wt a few other couples. And magically all at once at 4:30 all the rooms were available.

Horrible service, horribly run hotel. Never had to wait like this with no one even trying to help.

The grounds are pretty, but it is run down. The equipment in the fitness room is seedy and it has some of the worst food I have ever had in a hotel. The breakfast buffet is $30 and has the kind of a selection you would find as a complementary breakfast in many hotels. Every item was cold, they put me at a table without salt and pepper so I had to get it from another table, It is very noisy. I looped a white noise tape on my laptop from youtube so I could sleep, the walls are paper thin. Nearby are big beach and little beach which are free, in fact, the beach in front of the place is a public beach you can use even if you do not in the hotel. There are plenty of places to stay in Maui that are reasonably priced that would love to have your business and plenty of places with great food. I was here for a conference but I would never stay here again.

I was thrilled to take my husband and kids after my own experience at this hotel. I think after this vacation, I can write "This is not the vacation I ordered". I had booked two adjoining rooms and paid all expenses including the hotel before we left for Maui. I called the day before to confirm that our rooms were connected (one of our kids is younger) and available. They assured me that all was great.

When we arrived they "upgraded" us to the across the street condo's. We did not want to be upgraded but they were overbooked and we had no choice. Excited to get away from cooking and cleaning, the condo has only 1 house keeping visit in a week, and no restaurants, no room service or even a soda machine. It seems like I never had a chance to relax because I was always trying to figure out when we were going to be able to go to the hotel.

Getting to the hotel from across the street, wasn't that easy. You had to call down to the desk, and eventually someone would bring a cart. It was easiest to just walk down to the guest services area. Then we would be taken across the street and dropped off. IF you forgot something back at the condo, it was not worth going back. The pools and slides were as packed as Disneyland on its busiest day of the year. Yes, you also have to stand in line to get a bracelet every day-even as registered guest. The management comped us one cabana for the week-so we didn't have to rush over to find chairs at 630 in the morning by the pool. They broke their promise and gave us only one day.

The activities person basically called me a liar, and by the time they made room for us to come over to the hotel side, we only had two days left of our trip. We left the hotel early on our departure date could not WAIT to get out of there.

There are better hotels all along this strip that won't treat you like cattle, that don't have such a bad attitude, and won't reach out for a tip before they help you. I won't go to this hotel ever again.

It was the most beautiful Valentine's gift I've ever been given to go here. I think the individual rooms were not 5 star, but Hawaii is a dream and the architecture of the hotel and its venues was flawless.

We had a fantastic stay at Waldorf Astoria. The stuff is attentive and incredibly helpful, we were able to check in early, were cared for at the pools, were always addresses by our names, and got one of the best cleaning services ever. The rooms are huge, and very well decorated. We loved the wooden shades, celling fans, and massive bathroom. Amenities are top notch, pools, slides, swim up bars, all decked beach, spa, gym, you name it, they have it. We were very happy that they partner with Enterprise and valley parking allowed for an overnight drop off and waived parking fee. The property is huge and very well mantained, we seriously do not want to leave!

I stayed at the Grand Wailea for my birthday along with my family and friends. This was during a time where the hotel was only at 40% capacity because of covid-19. The entire stay me and my friends were constantly bothered by the staff. My last day there they wouldn t even allow us to swim and were asked to get out of the pool. My family paid for me and my friends to stay there with there hard earned money and this hotel is not cheap. We were just there to have a good time. Not even once were we being disruptive or loud. I have never had a problem like this before ,but I all I have to say about this hotel is they are not local friendly at all. The staff treated us with so much disrespect and were very rude. You would think since the hotel is located on the island of Maui they would be more respectful to the locals.

I was not impressed. In many places it is just not maintained, and is crumbling and shows wear and tear. Everyone says the pool is amazing, but not when the fake rocks are falling apart so you can see the foam underneath, and the pool is so overcrowded you can't find a lounge chair. In the afternoons the pool was filled with college kids on spring break drinking and rendering it unusable. The hotel has many beautiful parts, but unfortunately it just isn't maintained up to standards of a luxury hotel; small things like smelly bathrooms and guest garbage that is not dealt with, and the large waterslide is out of commission for the foreseeable future. Big companies like this hotel for corporate retreats and they dominate this hotel, bringing in large crowds of people that normally stay at budget hotels. Instead of quiet luxury, expect something more like a Disneyland or Six Flags theme park... My overall impression is that ownership/management lacks the funds or has the passion for service that other hotels are known for. We will be going elsewhere next time...

I had a truly amazing time at the Grand Wailea resort. You could spend a month here and never get bored. There are plenty of activities to do. The resort is stunningly beautiful and all of the employees are very welcoming and kind. It feels like it's own little community. The rooms are very clean. I am very glad that I chose this resort and if I ever get a chance to go back to Maui, I will be spending my time here again!

The location right on the beach is fantastic. Easy access with beach front, along with great snorkeling and freediving right off the beach. The pools are incredible. There is a system of slides available to go down that make it great for the kids, and adults. Not too far are the shops of Wailea. Which has good restaurants and stores. The room itself has a great view of the ocean and was clean and nice!

Idyllic, unique and absolutely breathtaking. Everything is fine here. Service really excellent. After the personal welcome incl. Flower necklace you were taken to your room. If you do not book ocean view is your own fault. Perfectly. The pool area is a sensation. All in all, top. And I already have many 5star hotels through ... Here you can cut off a slice.

The Grand Wailea is a great family resort, with large spaces and many sights to see in those spaces. The pool system is great, however very difficult to get a good place to sit if you are not early, the service Is nice and the people are also nice. A lot of people may disagree with the prices of everything here, bit it should be expected for a Hawaiian stay at a luxury resort of this size.

Spent four nights at this scenic resort. The room is comfortable and room service is on point. The view is amazing with full fledged facilities and amenities. The staffs are kind and helpful. It is about everything one can expect from a full experience vacation in Hawaii. The only downside is food options, which I think more variety should be offered, but overall it is an excellent experience.

Had a couple of issues with the hotel. 1. Getting a good night sleep depends on where your room is, if where there is no carpet outside you wake up by guests checking in or leaving early in the morning because of the suitcases rolling on the pavement right outside your door.
I didn't like that there was Valet only which means that we were charged an additional daily fee that we were not told about upfront (but tbh even if they told is there is nothing you can do about it since there is no alternative parking available).
The breakfast buffet was not worth the money imo.
There were a couple of issues with the room (sink not draining, AC being super loud) that are not a big deal and were fixed eventually but that is not what I expect to happen in the first place considering the price.

We stayed here for 7 nights and had an Amazing time. Had a oceanview room with 2 queen beds and room was very spacious with a balcony to watch the whales and incredible Sunsets. Bathrooms are huge with sepearate shower and bathtub. The service was excellent and the hotel has a true Hawaiian feel to it with koi ponds and waterfalls all over the grounds. The landscaping is Beautiful and the grounds are impeccable. The food and drinks are a bit pricey but excellent. Absolutely amazing beach and the pool is like a water park. Family friendly hotel so definitely can take the whole family. We will absolutely be back here soon.

Hotel meets all requirements as far as far as a place to sleep. Basic bar and restaurants have your local food chain restaurant quality. First day here was served over cooked tuna. Crab cakes were good. Second day calamari was served over salted and cold. 0 entertainment available unless you just wish to sit at the beach all day. Alcohol prices are something you would expect in downtown New York. Without the New York experience. Great if you just want to disappear and pass out and you have your own Pharmaceuticals to zone out. $8 for a Bud Light. Had to go to a local store just to buy alcohol felt like I was going to a dry campus. If you don't want to be social and Fade Away great place to go. But if you enjoy socializing do not come here. Customer service was decent and the employees were definitely trying at 110%. But the hotel had no clue on how to provide entertainment. Unless you enjoy kiddie pools. Because of the extraordinary costs of alcohol at the hotel the social life was absolutely zero unless you brought friends. They have no shuttle to local bars or area so you can actually have a good time. And if you rent a car it's $30 a day unless you're paying the extra cost for Enterprise then itsn $15 a day. Insured enjoy drinking in your hotel room because if you don't go to a local bar you're not going to enjoy this place unless your company is paying for everything.

Amazing! Awesome service and attentiveness by all employees, especially the bellhop and valet guys. The Grand Wailea sets the bar for service and treatment of guests. Great pools for kids and families. Expensive but the luxury of this resort is hard to beat. Only downside is every hotel I stay at will now be compared to the Grand Wailea.

PROs: Lovely lobby and grounds, good food (but pricey), nice and attentive staff, direct beach access, clean pools. Housekeeping provided a gift basket as amends to the dirty room described below.

CONs: Room lacked deep cleaning and regular maintenance for a 5-star resort. Mold in shower, months of dust and grime built up on some surfaces, towel rack separating from the wall, damaged trim, dirty floor, no seal around door, sink cabinet wouldn't close, etc. Absolutely not what one should expect from a 5-star resort. Housekeeping did come in and clean at our request and it took 4 persons over an hour to do so. Resort management was embarrassed by this oversight. Old furniture from the 90's, some with damage. Room is in desperate need of a remodel. Pricey restaurants.
