The Grand Wailea luau was very good. The food was very good, offering a large variety of Hawaiian foods. Other luau's have let us watch as they remove the pig from the cooking pit and explained how it is cooked. I missed that. It was not presented in ceremonial fashion. Dancers were excellent. Loved the fire dance as well as the airial silk strip dancer and the white cloud dancer. Very good meal and show. The Grand Wailea is beautiful.

Beautiful hotel with lots of indoor gardens. The restaurant Humu Humu is really interesting. The food is great and service is impeccable. The desserts are creative. Make sure you try the sweet uni. Wagyu New York steak is great!
This was probably our 10th stay in 10 years at the Grand and it's our favorite hotel of all time. We are always sad to leave. What makes this hotel so special are the people. They've become like family because of the calm, friendly atmosphere. It's such a giant resort, if you want total privacy it's here for you but staff is ready to help you with whatever you need and when you need it. The food is consistently delicious especially the enormous breakfast buffet with made to order omelettes, miso soup, smoothies, assortment of almost every breakfast food you can think of from muesli to hot selections of meats and potatoes. The beds are super comfortable in the rooms which are sanctuaries for rest and rejuvenation. Everything is very clean. On this trip I noticed the lush grounds are in the best condition ever. I cannot say enough about this wonderful vacation we do over and over. Thank you Evelyn Nitta, Elizabeth Pilar, Patrick Supplee, Alan, the bellman, Belden, Dennis, who has greeted us with the same big smile, Carmen, Zenith, Jonathan and Armi and the rest of the staff in the Napua Tower; Carrie, the front desk manager and hundreds of other kind staff. The views are magnificent from every room in this well thought out property. For water lovers, there are huge pools, beach activities such as kayaks, standup paddleboards and morning yoga. Thank you Jen Lauer, I've had hundreds of yoga classes over the years and your classes cater to all levels and in the true spirit of what yoga is all about. My only regret is not writing this review sooner. Last but not least, check out the just released book by Concierge Ali "How Cara lost her Color," about the coral reefs and her efforts to save them.
Stayed at grand Wailea for 8 nights, attended a conference. The resort lived up to its expectations. Food was above average and expensive. No self parking, only valet. You must get a massage at spa grande, it is pricey but worth it. Luau from what I heard was above average, food was good. Two pools, adult and family with slides, very well maintained. Non smoking resort, direct beach access with beach towels and chairs( free of cost). The resort s best asset is their staff.. everyone is friendly and approachable. I cannot think of any bad experience with the staff.. very good staff!!
The Grand Wailea was the absolute nicest hotel i ever stayed in. My wife and I were on our honeymoon and we could not have spent our last night in a nicer place. The service was phenomenal and the ocean view was stunning, especially from the bathtub facing west for the perfect sunset.
Despite having multiple issues during our 10 day stay, I am confident that these problems we're the result of simple bad luck and not reflective of shortcomings in the resorts staff or organization. The mark of good service is how you respond to the inevitable problems for your customer, and at every turn the staff at Grand Wailea was incredible. Our honeymoon was amazing, and I would definitely stay again in the future, given the opportunity.
What an amazing trip for our family! Huge thanks to Celeste and her staff in the Napua Club that really made it memorable. So worth the upgrade to Napua!
There really are no words that could do this place justice. The Grand Wailea is absolutely magnificent and is one of the most impressive resorts I have ever seen.
Had lunch near the pool after a morning at the beach. Food was fine, but price was ridiculous even by Maui resort standards. The watermelon and goat cheese salad was particularly egregious in terms of what you get for the $.
Beautiful resort. We went to the Humuhumu Bar and restaurant surrounded by a lagoon and waterfall decorated in the casual yet beautiful natural Hawaiian setting. We ordered the $65 seafood platter appetizer brought to you in an exquisite two tier dry ice presentation! That was a surprise when it came to the table! I would recommend it because given the variety it was probably less expensive than ordering multiple appetizer dishes and was very good along with an assortment of local made bread and delicious butter.
Gorgeous grounds and art at this resort! Fun for families and couples both. Love the multiple pools, swim up cave bar, lazy river, waterslides and water elevator. Nice beach with mild waves...tons on turtles to see. Several restaurants to choose from. Rooms are comfortable, bathrooms large. You have to make time to visit the spa, one of top 5 in the entire US! I would give it a 5 star, but check in process could be better. This resort wont disappointed, everyone should go at least once!
My wife, 7 month old and I are here now. We were told the main pool would be closed during our stay, we were not informed that there would be jack hammering polluting the beach, our room (waking us from sleep at night) and even heard at breakfast. One comes to Hawaii for peace. To not inform guests that we would be staying in an auditory war zone is horrible customer service and disrespectful of the needs of customers. I highly recommend never coming here.
I stayed at the Grand Wailea at New year's and it really was an absolutely marvelous experience. The staff across the entire hotel were incredibly professional, efficient, and made everyone in my party feel incredibly welcome. We were greeted with leis as soon as we arrived. Personally, the open-air areas were some of my favorite. Also, being able to have breakfast and look out over the beautiful Hawaiian landscape truly is the definition of peaceful. I highly recommend staying for a couple nights during any trip to Hawaii!
Beautiful property with fantastic service. This property has been consistently good. Rooms are nicely sized with smart features like power and USB on the bed sides. Generously sized bathrooms and nice balconies.
What a bunch of pretentious overblown crap. I can't believe this "hotel" thinks they're the best on Maui. First coming here, I had expected a certain standard for a Hilton property. Everyone I know said, "Go to the Grand Wailea". Wow, it is huge. Lobby was actually nice. But since it is so huge, it can be confusing. Went to find a nice dinner spot, all I saw were cafes for fast eating. Sure, that's fine, but have some nice places. Only upscale place was Humuhumunukunukuappa's, which was busy. Went to the gift shop, and it had leaks in the ceiling. No one there said "welcome" or "hi", like at other hotels. Then I got lost trying to get out. And I don't get lost, even hiking on a baron path in the woods. Rooms are dated and plain. For $450, what a rip-off!!!(Then again, I know Hilton nickel and dimes you) And the hotel is dated and old. Only nice thing was the luau. And the pool area? Half was closed. And in June?!? COME ON!!! Also saw people from other places walk in the pool with no one checking. And watch out for speakers pumping out fake bird calls. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!!!! Just a hotel for people with low standards or with kids that don't care about anything but the pool and water elevator, which was right next to a swim up bar.
I went there during the honeymoon. I loved the pool that can use at the night as well. Also, the beach is right in front of the hotel so we can go anytime.
Loved the beach, pools and bars. The wrist bands for pool access are unfortunate since some guests may have colleagues or friends at other hotels who cannot go to the pool.
This has been the 3rd time we have been blessed to visit this incredible facility. Not enough words can be said how great the staff in every department are working there. They work really hard to accomodate all of your needs. Maui is an incredible place to see if possible. Highest recomendation from me. Aloha
Great hotel but a bit overpriced. The pool services are nice but they're extremely strict about having guests wear wristbands at the pool. The beach in front is OK but nothing spectacular.
Great hotel on the beachfront. The pool is very fun, with slides and many activities. The comfortable and spacious rooms. The breakfast varied and very complete.
Best features of this place is pools, the aesthetics, the restaurants and the south view of the beautiful pacific ocean. The rooms are small but the bathroom is my favorite. The deep tub, the glass shower. 5
great pools food great great great. Good snorkeling is great off the beach. the pasta is great it was my favorite food there. My family loved it there my dad loved it a lot. always where sum screen if you don't you will get sum poisioning.
Has all the amenities you could hope for. The best stretch of beach in Wailea. I recommend paying for the upgrade to Napua Tower to get extra amenities.
Landscaping and overall property simply breathtaking. Dining and entertainment on site ample and impressive, but not affordable. We arrived during a rainstorm and had a hectic check-in, which included the famous $40 valet but did not include a lei greeting or the champagne bottle rumored to be gifted to honeymooners. We scheduled our stay based on the conclusion of a pool construction project, then were informed upon arriving that all pools but one would remain closed until after the conclusion of our trip. That meant missing out on swim-up bar, water slide, water volleyball, zero entry pool, snorkel/scuba lessons, and about everything else the resort fee was supposed to cover.
Did you know that within the Grand Wailea Resort, they have the only recreational water elevator for humans on the planet? It was originally created to aid the disabled in making their way to the top of the stairs to bride the slides. What fun!
Beautiful resort, loved being on the ground floor since our party had small children, they could play on the grass right outside our room. The walk to the pool and ocean was so short too! Excellent amenities for everyone. This is a great place top bring the entire family! Be sure to take on the Lula while staying, great show!
My family of four is at the Grand Wailea this week (today is 6/14/16). The last three years we've also stayed at Beaches Turks and Caicos, Disney's Aulani, and the Disney Fantasy Cruise Ship. Those three vacations were amazing. So classy, and fun for the family.
We've been shocked at the Grand Wailea. We read so many reviews that this place is the best ever. It s really not.
At the pool, we have to spend an hour to find a single lounge chair for our family of four to share..... We are paying for two rooms BTW. Today we were away from our chair in the pool, but left our stuff on it. Security removed our stuff and gave our chair away after 40 minutes. They claimed that they move items from chairs after an hour. After we signed to get our stuff back, we had to spend our time trying to find another chair. How ghetto?!?!
We eat at the brunch each morning. They are under staffed.
There isn t much seating at the beach. There are no activities. Not much life. You don t see any parasailing, wave runners, or other fun activities. Zip lining is far away. The volcano is two hours away. All the pool slides shut down at 5:00 PM. The concierges are hard to understand and don t have many ideas of what to do with the kids. So disappointing!!!!! We get one trip a year. This year we really messed up. Our kids are in their room right now bored playing with their iPods. Go on a Disney trip. You ll have a lot more fun. To eat by the pool you have to fight for a table. No reservations. Took us 45 minutes to fight for a table in the hot sun with our little kids. The rooms are nice and well taken care of. J. Wisot.
Beautiful, lush grounds with a welcoming friendly staff! Gorgeous private beach equipped with water sport gear and crafts. The pools are unique and relaxing with very nice attendants. Breathtaking views from every location. Great shops and several good dining options near by, if desired. Loved my stay at the Astoria on the beautiful island of Maui!
Outstanding resort on the beach for families with kids. The staff from the welcoming lei greeters, to awesome front desk crew will guarantee your stay will be one to remember. Crazy pool area enjoyable for all ages with water slides and a swim up bar to waitresses delivering food and cocktails to your lounge chairs. Great lobby bar, Humu Humu Sunday brunch with Island favorites and unlimited Bloody Mary's and Champagne. Terrific lobby shopping if you need a pair of slippahs, swimsuits or a quick breakfast. Received a fantastic upgrade for belonging to the Hilton Honors Program to a corner suite for our one night, so thankful for the hotel recognizing our Kaamaina. Mahalo, we will return.
Beautiful, accommodating and all inclusive. Perfect get away with a toddler. The pools were super fun, food fantastic and accommodations comfortable. Everyone was kind and cheerful to us and our daughter who was in awe of all the beautiful flowers, water features and sculptures. Great experience!

Superb 10 day visit, look at rates carefully as there appears to be definite high and low seasons - May cause you to move your stay a week or two if you can. Staff was extraordinary, very professional, beautiful resort and grounds. But note they only allow valet parking, there is a charge, and tipping added up for us because of multiple in-and-outs every day. If you re looking for upscale, you ve found it!
Beautiful resort on a beautiful island. We stayed for eight nights in an ocean view room. It was certainly ocean view, but not ocean front. It didn't seem like they really had rooms right on the water, which seems to be the case on Maui for the most part. The view is amazing with Molokini Crater in the background. Pools amazing, great service, great restaurants and beautiful grounds. If you have little kids they have a great play area. Our two year old thought it was awesome. It is kind of expensive, but a near perfect resort that I can't honestly think of constructive criticism. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended.
Great, clean hotel by the beach. The rooms got narrow entryways, but the bed area and bathroom are quite spacious and pleasing to the eye. They've incorporated fauna everywhere they can to keep the island full of life which is always great! Would recommend this to anyone I know visiting Maui.
