Me and my family have stayed here a few times over the years. It has definitely changed over the years - maybe because of the ownership changer per the pool bartender. Rooms need to be updated. But still a good experience, great location!

The Spa Grande at Grand Wailea is simply the best spa I have ever been to. The Spa at the Banff Springs Hotel is great, and some of the spas in Las Vegas are very nice, but the spa at Grand Wailea is amazing. Great treatments, great facilities, great staff. If you can afford it, go. 10/10, exfoliate me again.

Very beautiful experience. I m not giving five stars because many pools close at five pm, which is too early. There is no a real cafeteria inside. No self parking but only valet. Pool services are perfect. Staff very kind and nice.

Fancy is the only word that suits this Hotel. the layout is great to say the least. The kid friendliest pool I have ever seen at a hotel. rope swing, water slides, water elevator, lazy river, and feeling adventurous scuba lessons in its own pool.

I knew coming to Hawaii would be expensive. I was warned about how nothing comes from Hawaii and everything needs to be shipped in. I get it. My husband and I chose to stay at the largest resort on the island for a vacation we saved for a few years. We knew there would be fees and charges. What I didn t expect was when I was asked if we wanted to upgrade our room, we were never told about the constant jack-hammering that could be heard all the way to the 6th floor. This was more than a little bit of a nuisance. I know what you re thinking. You re in Hawaii, why are you in your room? The sun was hot and I needed a nap, my question is, Who the hell could enjoy one? If I could give zero stars, I would select that option.

The only negative comments I paid attention to were the ones that complained about not being able to see from the back rows. I paid for an upgrade when I arrived, $26/ person for the first row. This also gets you in half an hour earlier, which means more all-inclusive mai tais. Not sure what it was like in the back rows, but from where we were sitting everything was exceptional. The location was amazing, food was great; pork, sirloin, Mahi-mahi, teriyaki chicken, best poke we had on the entire trip, and even the open bar drinks were better than the full-priced drinks at our resort. The show was entering, full of energy, and informative. We could not think if anything they could have done better. Well worth the 50-minute drive from Lahaina. Ages 17, 20, 51, 52 all agreed you should include this luau in your Maui vacation. Make sure to park at the Grand Wailea and not the adjoining public park- it closes at 8 and they will lock you in.

Beautiful hotel. Great room and nicely decorated. Quality bathroom with nice finishes. Excellent service. Good food. Great location - although note that trade winds start at around midday and so not great for swimming in the afternoon.

Overall it was ok. I felt the staff could have had more Aloha. Some staff energy felt like they didn't wanna be there. One asian female staff that was working in the adult pool area even told me she was almost finished with her shift and was ready to go home, she had the worst energy of all. It almost made my day bad but I was able turn my mood around. The guy that makes the noise with the shell had good energy. There were a few staff that did stand out with amazing energy. It's hard to judge a place from one bad apple. Overall this place was ok even tho it was an amazing place to be on maui with one of the best sunsets. I might go back to give it a second try.

Beautiful resort, hotel, and grounds (40+ acres) . It has everything you need on the grounds but everything here is expensive. Service is great and everything is immaculate, the rooms and all the common area. First class all the way. The ocean view rooms are amazing. They are set back from the beach a bit and there are a lot of palm trees so request a high floor if you can. Resort is about half an hour from the airport and about 15 minutes from the nearest town (Kihea) so you need to have a car.

Beautiful hotel, we loved our room. We had an excellent view of the pools and the ocean. There are so many amenities at the hotel to partake in and the location is superb. The food is a little over priced, but so is everything on the island. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We booked through Costco and got a $100 spa credit at the incredible Spa Grande. We will definitely stay here again.

My dinner at Humu Humu was one of the best dinners I've ever had. The server made some great recommendations, and my wagyu was tender, flavorful and with a fantastic wine reduction. The atmosphere at night was beautifully lit, highly recommend!

Marriot hotels > Hilton hotels. Poor customer service at all levels, reservation, bell desk, pool side, concierge...the list is never ending. Older, dumpy, shady clientele...we stayed at the Ritz for a few nights before but wanted to explore more of the island...should have stayed at the Ritz.

It s cheesy and has a cheap Vegas vibe...dolphins and mermaids everywhere and old painted murals...a large amount of rooms at this resort but apparently early check in is impossible. They also just storage luggage in a busy hallway with zero security. We cannot recommend staying at this hotel.

Stayed there a few years back and I can just say that the entire experience of staying at the Grand Wailea was a dream. Breathtaking scenery both man made (landscaping) and natural. Hotel is absolutely beautiful. This is an experience I want to live again.

So 4 stars. It is gorgeous. Really. It's just too intimidating for a single mom to see such crazy prices. Rent a Cabana for a day:$2500. For example. $75 buffet. Also: so many extras added to the room charge. All kinds of taxes, tips, resort fees, etc.

My fiance proposed to me here last September. The hotel was exquisite, the views and peaceful property experience was stunning. The front desk was very professional, and while waiting to check in there was refreshments and fresh fruit. Our room was clean and had a nice tub for 2. The location was perfect for exploring. The hotel had shopping strip with super yummy food to take to the sand for breakfast. There was live music at night and plenty of valet areas to bring your car to. What was nice is the sunscreen, lotion and amenities while waiting to get your car. The koi fish are so cool to see all over the property. Honestly you can't beat this for Maui.

If you are LOCAL, DO NOT go here. The hotel does not cater to local guests. It is clear when trying to enjoy the hotel amenities, the difference in service between out-of-state guests, and locals. (If you know what I mean)
If you are not used to high end 5 star vacations, you might this this hotel is great. But having experienced many 3 star hotels that are much better, I would spend my money elsewhere. Also..
We took a family trip here and stayed in several rooms. Got the children's names mixed up between the rooms and the hotel staff refused to give some of the kids wrist bands for the pool! It was an absolutely ridiculous scene as we were treated like criminals trying to pull a fast one on the hotel. We tried to explain the situation but they were not even willing to help us out and accused us of lying! Unbelievable!
For $400+ per room, you would expect to be treated better.

Now for the hotel itself: The grounds and lobby were nice, but not as manicured as some of the other high end hotels. We had just come from the Westin in Lahaina and the grounds although smaller was more strategically manicures and planned with views in mind.
The rooms were clean, and comfortable, but very basic and outdated. Very little amenities inside of the rooms. Plugs were hard to find, basic TV etc.

The service charges were ridiculous. $14 service charge at restaurants per room. This is on top of tax, and gratuity. $30 parking charge (mandatory).

The pool however was great!

Went for the Luau in the evening. They put out a decent spread and had some exciting entertainment. However felt the pork was too dry and the drinks were too light. Still open bar and buffet at sunset can't complain!

This place is a Paradise and Grand is a good adjective for the place as it is huge. The most spectacular part is the series of water slides that take you from one pool to another. I went just with my wife this time but I definitely want to come back with the kids.

We came to the hotel for my son's 10th birthday for the extraordinary pool that they were suppossed to have. On the first pool day we went to the pool after breakfast at 930 am and there wasnt a seat anywhere to be found. After over an hour of looking for a place to sit 4 people we found one. The rest of the day worked out good. Day 2 at the pool I got there at 8:00 am to save a place for the day. I went back to the room to get everyone we came back to the location at 9:00 am and the hotel had given my location to another group. This turned into a altercation between us and the new group. We finally were able to get in contact with a manager who had taken our belongings which I'm still trying to locate. She said they have a rule that they can take your belongings and your seats within 1 hour of non ussage. They are supposed to lay the chair down for 1 hour and then give it away if unnattend according to the manager. This did not happen. Also they immediately found my wife a kids a new location. There were plenty of other locations available at the time not as prime but they gave my location to someone else that fast and that early in the morning. I'm very disappointed in the level and service and disrespect that this hotel provided. I could understand if this happened later in the day but this was at 9am. This was unnecessary and happened in less than an hour and the chairs were not put down to notify the start of the 1 hour period. We will be reviewing the written policies that posted by the hotel pertaining to this matter Terrible!!!!!!!

Aloha! My family enjoyed the Grand Wailea for our vacation several years in a row. A great location, beautiful pool, luxe spa. The group fitness classes are also great! Take a morning walk along the boardwalk in front of all the resorts. Beautiful!

We were here for the luau and the overall experience was positive. The show was great and even though the food was so so the scenery behind us was great and we caught a beautiful sunset before the show. They are currently available at Costco for $85, which is better than most price of the luau that come with the buffet.

Beautiful resort and it is on Wailea Beach which is gorgeous. The luau has decent food, satisfactory drinks and good performances. The resort is pricey but, I suppose that's to be expected. We did encounter quick and friendly service while we were there.

Hotel room we stayed in needed a desperate renovation. Grout was dirty and room always felt damp. Corridors needed cleaning and new paint. Garden room had no view and was not private at all. Staff were friendly and helpful for the most part. Recently stayed at Grand Hyatt in Kauai and Ritz in Maui and those rooms and grounds were far superior.

Spent 9 days at the Grand Wailea, as my husband and I were on our honeymoon. We had an absolutely amazing time! Whether it was relaxing by the beach or swimming in one of the many pools, we both had a relaxing trip. If you're wanting a beach chair/umbrella, I recommend you get up early. They start setting them up at 7am. We were early risers, so we had no issues getting front row chairs, but know that by 9am there will be little to nothing left. Prices for drinks and food are on the spendy side. But, if you're staying at the Grand Wailea, this shouldn't be a surprise, as it's a very nice resort.

An incredible hotel with excellent service and amenities. The layout is a step above most other resorts of this size, although some signs are still out of date. Great views and ocean noise with a bar never far away. The beach access and supplies provided are excellent and timely while the beach itself is one of the best.

Great resort! Food was great. Room was amazing. Very nice grounds. Easy access to beach. Anything you want, they have it. Got a massage by the ocean. Cabanas and service was excellent. Always had cold bottles of water from the valet when you got your car. Worth the money.

I'm absolutely astounded every time I visit the Grand Wailea. Beautiful, well-manicured grounds with soothing waterfalls and koi ponds, spectacular pools and a sprawling beach with kayak and bike rentals. Spa Grande was absolutely amazing, and a once in a lifetime experience I'd highly recommend.

The guest rooms are plush, comfy beds, standard hotel wifi, mini bar etc. Breakfast isn't complimentary but the continental breakfast in the grand dining room offers a great variety of brunch foods with a breathtaking ocean view.

Beautiful resort. They have a massive pool with slides, lazy river, and a swim up bar. A bit expensive but I would definitely recommend to others, as well as stay there again next time I visit Maui. Make sure to try Coconuts Fish Cafe on your way there!

At the hotel to attend their luau. The food was amazing and the show was great. Definitely recommend going for the cheap seats (outside rows) if you have kids, much easier to get up during the show incase the little ones get restless.

This place is beautiful. The gardens and surrounding campus are immaculate and the beach is nice. The pools are are always busy but that's to be expected at such a large resort. The room is nice and the bathroom will rock your socks off. It's also a very convenient walk away from a mall and at least one tasty pizza place.
