I was with two elderly people and myself and we had to get our bags up stairs alone. We also had to go at 1830 to claim that they make us the room having left at 830 AM. Nice view but old hotel and bad attention

Would NOT recommend! Overpriced & should be demolished. The rooms are old, smell bad and the carpet looks horrible. The TV was an old box style. If there was a way to give negative stars, I would.

It really deserves 2.5 stars, but I will be generous because it is quiet and not located in a bad neighborhood. I have stayed 1000 nights over the last 7 years among two hotel chains across the Southeast which makes me a premiere member and very knowledgeable of what a great hotel is and what even a good value is.

The good:
Quiet location near everything in West Broward or North Miami, if you need that location. If you do not then there are many other places I would rather stay. Nice landscaping and plenty of parking since occupancy was at best 70%.

The bad:
Poor customer service. Having never stayed here before and needing this unique location, called in four days prior to stay with a 25% off hotel coupon. They immediately stated they did not honor the coupon. After a further inquiry they stated they had 40+ empty rooms for my date, but had to call the day before to reserve. Called the day before, and before I mentioned the coupon they stated they had rooms, then when I mentioned the coupon they were sold out. Then I asked them how they sold 40 rooms in just a few days they came back with a room, but tried to bait and switch to a higher price. Finally I told them that if I could not get the rate I would simply stay at my home just a little over an hour away. What an aggravating experience to simply reserve a room at $90/night which is about what it's worth. Parking lot was empty too.

Bathrooms are from the 1980s and look like they haven't been cleaned since the 1990s. I hope they don't have bed bugs.

A helpful hint is try not to hustle your guests for every last nickle and forget about the South Florida attitude. Reality is your hotel is not as good as you think it is. I normally stay in nicer places at slightly higher rates. Two star service, so you are better to avoid the staff and do business off site.

Is a very nice golf hotel.
We spent one night here, before our cruise (which we won at Berliner Rundfunk) before we had to go to the harbor of Fort Lauderdale.
The unfamiliar thing for us was that we were the only white guests.
Breakfast was also good, very American.

Had a great visit great customer service and if your car-less there a bus 7b public transit. The only reason I gave it 4 stars. Because my room didn't have a fridge or microwave. You have to order them. My bed had a crease in it but it put me straight to sleep. I will book again in The future tho. Make sure you try the chef salad and chicken wings they are da bomb and affordable.

Sunday brunch was horrendous. I don t typically review restaurants but this definitely deserves some feedback. We were in town with friends and our wives were beyond excited for the Sunday Brunch reservations. It started when we all tried the steamed shrimp. Almost all of the shrimp that we peeled were clearly rancid. The texture was dried mush and we literally had to wash our hands after peeling a couple because the spoiled fish smell was enough to ruin an appetite. The gentleman making omelets was successful exactly 0 times in making what was ordered, unburnt, and giving it to the correct person. That was when you could find him. If you needed his service you had to seek him out and request help. The unlimited mimosas were clearly batch mixed and god knows how long ahead of time. There was exactly 0 champagne fizz in any of the poured glasses we received, which tells you how old they were. The entire experience became comical when we decided to cut to the dessert table only to find half of the cheesecake slices with blue mold on top. The only saving grace was the sweet older waitress we had. She was so nice, we didn t have the heart to mention the horrendous brunch but instead just paid our tab and left.

Would not recommend this Sunday brunch to our worst enemies. Steer clear of this place unless you re into food poisoning.

The hotel is around 50 years old so set your expectations for that. There are plenty of food choices nearby. The rooms are clean and the staff are very friendly.

For golfers this is a great option. Our group booked a full week and the rate included 18 holes of golf each day.

Very convenient. Never had to unload our golf clubs. They kept them on our carts locked up safe and sound. Carts were always lined up for us each morning ready to go when we were. They have three 9 hole courses and we always had our choice of which ones we wanted to play and where we wanted to start. I will say this... hotel guests are treated like royalty and are kings of the courses.

The staff went out of their way to make sure we were 100% satisfied with our stay and golf package.

If you're looking for a GOLF STAY AND PLAY this is it! If you're looking for a luxury family vacation resort, you'll be disappointed.

This was my first visit to this hotel. I have seen it for years and always wanted to stay there and I was very disappointed. The one word that comes to mind is renovation as the hotel rooms are not up to date. The room was very musty and did not feel clean. Our room door even had a small opening at the bottom of the door ( I guess that is the critters entrance). The bathroom was very small and appeared old.The air conditioner was very loud. The ice machine outside of the room was filthy. I was not impressed with the TV as it was very small especially for being a supposedly high end hotel. The breakfast menu was mediocre at best; we actually ate off the property.
The positive thing was the young lady at the front desk as she had good customer service and switched our room upon hearing about the small opening at the bottom of the door. The grounds are very well kept as well.

I stay for one night here and the experience was horrible, no elevator, hallway and stairs was nasty smell like mariguana really dirty like never clean before, the room was dirty as well, everything really old from the 80 s the beds was hard like a floor, the carpet in front the door from the inside the room was water damage, the lamps had dust and the ceiling fan to, TVs from the 80 s they need to do renovation or close the place everything is nasty.

This place is a real dump. The room we stayed in for 1 night looked like a 60's motel room. I kept my shoes on as I didn't like the look of the carpet. There were lights above the bed and they were covered in cobwebs. The ceiling fan blades were black with old dirt. There was one flimsy cover on the bed. We checked for bedbugs before using the bed. The air conditioner was so loud that we had to turn it off before we could sleep. There is a free breakfast but hope you're not too hungry. They ran out of orange juice so there was coffee and those tiny muffins where you have to eat a couple to fill you up. The waffle maker didn't work very well and burned the waffle. The waffle also stuck to the iron and had to be picked off in pieces when cooked. There was no fruit as advertised. The tv is not a flatscreen which looks funny now. The shower was hot but very poor pressure. To call this a country club is a joke. When you see the sign for the place keep driving and don't stop. We saw a few dubious characters coming out of a couple of rooms and they certainly didn't look as though they could afford the prices being charged. The whole place should be torn down as it's way past its prime. The check-in desk was also a joke. We waited for about 25 minutes while the one guy was on the phone speaking Spanish so we couldn't understand what his problem was. The woman at the desk didn't even acknowledge us and did nothing to check us in. The man then told her to check us in after 25 minutes since we had a reservation. Don't believe any of the good reviews. This place is a dump. Years ago it may have been nice but not any more. Don't waste your money or your health.

This place is nothing like the photos. Maybe I've been spoiled going to different hotels and resorts and thought with the word "spa" it would have been better.

My God, there are leaves everywhere, where are your maintenance staff? The doors have "gold" handles that were flaked off especially at the catering office handle. There were "live" plants in the dining hall that boost wonderful numerous dead leaves. The candles for "ambience" had dirt on it like why?

The door glass was dirty, smudges align inside and outside, the tables had chip on the edge. Least have the decency to turn it around and maybe put something on it to hide the chip if you cant replace.

The staff was so friendly. They walked up to you and no even bother to say hello, good morning. The "continental " breakfast was a joke. And some dude where it looked like he was 5 months preggo in blue shirt only interaction was you cant take the food out. Not even a "good morning sir or madam how is your morning going. Is everything great?"

Nope!! The light fixtures were cracked in multiple areas. The front desk looked more of where the guys who take my gold bag would be. Like really?

This place is dated, popcorn ceiling, heavy drapes that not even Rose from golden girls would even be caught with in her room or saint olaf. The bathroom was horrid small and no robes at all, no throw blanket, the tv was smaller than what my kids have in their room and it's a 24". The mattress was so soft I thought I was going to be swallowed by it.

The room key not working, and forget of staff apologizing for it. Literally said l, "wow oh did you put it next to your phone. YOU demagnetize it."

The security was a joke. Over the radio, they advise were locked out of our room. You walked to the door and knocked on the door. Dude really? I'm sitting here in the "courtyard" 5 staff members walked bye and held eye contact and neither one said hello nor smiled.

Cant say it's a Florida thing, because I've been to other hotels in the area, and down in Miami and gotten way , way more enthuse and customer service beyond the moon.

If it wasnt for the golf course doubt it would be standing. I would have been better off at the Fairfield or stadium hotel and just drive 10mins or so to the course.

Stayed at the hotel for a night. The staff was nice and helpful. Pool is big. However, the room and bathroom felt unclean and smelled bad, the AC unit was loud, the ceiling had stains, and the linens were not soft and inviting (lots of fuzz). Also, the one voucher for breakfast consisted of only a few items, and you had to pay for eggs and meat. Our dining table had several ants crawling on top of it. Overall, it just felt like a "not so bad" motel and was definitely not worth the rate. We changed to a different hotel nearby that was only a few dollars more and you couldn't even compare the two.

Do not expect, as Brazilian, something with our standard. The hotel has a golf course and pool, but I have not used either. I just needed to use it to rest, although I opted for the resort. The room was relatively adequate. Beds and bathroom clean, but the carpet ... mercy ... could not step on him barefoot, dirty his foot and could feel the "greasy". Horrible breakfast by our standards. Waflle, white and whole-grain bread, butter, jelly, eggs and spicy potatoes, two fruits, cornflakes, juice, milk and coffee, only.

Horrible! Unclean, some rodent in wall and had rooms changed, staff unhelpful and not best service overall. Breakfast isn't worth with loud and rude staff yelling while eating with family. Staff even told us to go elsewhere, didnt recommend staying because they couldn't help with issues w cleanliness and the rodents

This is my second visit to this hotel in a month you think they could have at least given us something a small token for coming back. I won't go there again reason being . There beds are too soft it hurts your back for days after. The complementary breakfast ridiculous. Your paying an arm and a leg to go to these places and the only thing they can give you free is cereal, bread, butter, egg. I don't eat egg and I'm lactose intolerant. If you want suasage and bacon you have to pay for it separately. If there was a guest in the room before you. OMG house keeping just leaves the unfinished tissue on the roll for other guests to use.. Come on people seriously. Why would I want to use someone else's tissue. A half a roll or less.. I'm spending my money. That was just disappointing. They don't have sufficient towels you have to wait an hour or two first for house keeping to wash them and return to your room that's just crazy. Grands Palm check your staff and please ensure that your guests are comfortable.

Staff is super friendly, facility is definitely dated. Course is in fair shape, was pretty wet in some areas. The main complaint would be the lack of signage on the cart path on the sable course. A few directional signs would go a long way. I would play again for the price.

Outdated and falling apart room, no microwave, and no fridge. I do not recommended as far as accommodations. I heard the golfing is fine, if you're into that. Don't be deceived by the free breakfast false claim.

Came for drinks and dinner on Friday night and a wonderful band and food surprised us. Great place for locals and visitors. The cat fish was simply spectacular. Will be back soon for sure.

Place was horrible. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Everything in there need to be updated such as the bathroom, the carpet. My sister and I we were very disappointed. And also roaches

The workers here are all incredibly rude. You can tell they only care about the golfers who come and spend big money. The entire dining area where you go for breakfast is set up with dining wear, with the exception of a few small tables which are the only ones you are allowed to sit at. I watched a customer sit at one of those tables and a woman immediately rushed over going "oh no oh no I have to pick up the glasses so they dont get broken" to this adult man. I couldn't believe how rude she was. Interactions like that continued my whole stay. This place is a joke and their customer service is non existent.

Haven't stayed in the hotel, but Grand Palms' three 9-hole options are some of the best golf courses in the region, very well maintained and mostly uncrowded. Staff is hit or miss, but the pro shop is always well run.

They put me and someone else in a potentially dangerous situation. Friday, 9th Feb 2018: I called the front desk and spoke to a man to let him know that my flight from Chicago was delayed and I would arrive in the wee hours of the morning on Saturday. My reservation was from Friday-Sunday. The man on the phone said "OK, I will put a note here that this will be a late check-in". I arrived at 3:00 AM and went to the front desk. A very young girl gave me keys to room 225. I walked into the room and was looking for the light switch when I noticed something on the bed. I went closer to look and found a couple in the bed. There was a man and woman sleeping there. I panicked and froze for about 5 seconds - for those few seconds I was standing over the couple sleeping there, and they had no idea that someone was standing over them just inches away as they slept. Then I slowly backed out of the room, closed the door and went back to the front desk. My thoughts were, what would have happened if they had woken up? This could have led to a possibly very violent situation. The young girl at the front desk gave me a nasty attitude when I reported this, denied that I had ever called the hotel to notify them of the late arrival, and told me to go look for another hotel as she didn't have any vacancies. At 3:00 AM in a strange city. When I stood there immobile, not knowing what to do, she had a change of heart and gave me another room. Not one word of sorry or apology from her or anyone at the hotel so far. Apparently, whoever cancelled my reservation and gave my room to someone else never entered that into the system.I understand mistakes can happen...but guys, just own up and be courteous to your guests. Its the least you can do.

Horrible experience My husband and I wanted to spend a different night away from the daily noise. We arrived at approximately 7 pm and at 10 we were back home ..... Unfortunately we ate at the restaurant. Food malisimaaaaa. The old facilities were old and smelly. The stairs smelled of beer, the corridors pure cigars. Rooms with people inside the room with the door open, shoes of the people housed in the door of their room, towels, room, carpets and bathrooms smelled horrible. Old facilities. For being located in an excellent area and at the entrance of a beautiful urbanization I thought it was something else, but no, we were wrong. I do not recommend it at all
