I have a ultralight envy power wheelchair and really like it but the reliability is lacking. I purchased it late December 2018 and took delivery early January 2019 it has been repaired 3 times. It is always the same problem the wiring harness to the motors was defective. The connection at the connector becomes loose. This last time you could see where the connection was arcing and the connector was burned. The repair company came out and repaired it I just hope that it lasts this time.

DON'T BUY GOLDEN!!!! Bought a PR505L(PR535) in April '20 had a hip replacement. 1. It arrived with broken leg-then sent a new one which my husband had to fix 2. The seat cushion was installed crooked - took TWO MONTHS of calling "customer service" for them to make TWO TRIPS IN AN ATTEMPT TO FIX it. 3. 6 MONTHS LATER, the second seat cushion installed is STILL CROOKED. == Customer Service is non existent. Just a 20-30 MINUTE WAIT on average, only to have them give me a huge hassle about actually fixing it. These people are trained to PUT YOU OFF UNTIL THE 1-YEAR WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED!!! -- Telling everyone I know to NOT BUY GOLDEN !!!! HORRIBLE

It is over 5 yrs.old and still going. I'm in it from 8 am to7 pm every day !

I have had a lift chair for 18 months approximately. Twice it has failed.

The first time the motor stopped, I had had it less than 2 months. Somehow I was able to get out of the chair. It was difficult - I have car accident damage to both knees.

The store I purchased it from repaired it right away.

It took weeks before I can get back in it.

I use it sparingly, a few times a week because I'm a very nervous about using it. and I generally only use it if someone's home with me.

Over this weekend, I was using it. Suddenly the chair would not lift it would only recline. Every time I press the button to lift, it reclined more and more and more.

I was stuck in recline, feet up head down. I was by myself and there was no way I could get out.

My adult sons were at least an hour or more away from me.

My wife and run a quick errand, I called her back. She was unable to help me out because of the angle I was in.

We ended up having to call the fire depart.

A couple of paramedics came in, and tipped the chair up so I can get out.

The firemen told me that this was a very common thing with lift chairs.

Still don't know what happened. It will recline, the back of the chair will go up and down now. The leg rest stays up.

I believe the warranty was only 1 year.

I now have a useless piece of furniture, and even if it was repaired I'm afraid to use it.

My insurance paid for this, almost $1,400.

And even if it was repaired tomorrow I am scared to get in it. I just don't feel I can trust it.

I filled out a customer service form, but I have not received an email back.

We bought a Golden Techologies MaxiComforter 505 lift chair. Total waste of my money. The chair may have infinite positions but does not have one where you can sit fairly upright with your legs extended to watch tv or participate in a conversation. My lazy boy manual rocker recliner at least allows me to do that! I bought the chair for my brother. He never told me it had this problem because he didn't want to seem ungrateful. It wasn't until I sat in it while he went to a doctor's appointment that I discovered how uncomfortable this chair is. It made me sore after sitting in it for 15 minutes. We have called Golden Technologies thinking the chair might be broke since the back automatically reclines quite a bit when you lift the leg lift, but they said that is how it is made so there is nothing they can do. When I put the leg rest down, the lift mechanism in the chair threw me forward so I could not even sit in it like a normal chair. I would never recommend this chair to anyone. And since I don't have the money to replace this chair with another type or brand, it is my brother that must suffer. He has severe edema in his legs and needs the leg rest, and because he has back problems is unable to sleep in a regular bed for more than a couple of hours. He needed this chair badly. Both I and my pocketbook are sorry it it didn't live up to our expectations.

Terrible mobility product! My 75 yr old disabled mother on a fixed income bought a mobility scooter on credit about 18 moths ago. It has been one problem after another. She is on her 3rd major breakdown and the scooter is unusable. She is disabled and her scooter is her lifeline. Trying to get service is practically impossible. Buying a replacement is not an option financially and engaging an attorney to sue takes money up front. For a company to brag that they are saviors to disabled and then sell them junk..disgusting!

As an owner of Mobility Scooters Direct, I must say that the negative reviews on here must be competitors or something. I have never had a problem with Golden Technologies as an Authorized Dealer. Golden provides absolute great products. Their lift chairs are the best in the industry. Their new line of Buzzaround are some of the best transport mobility scooters around. Power wheelchairs, again, great products with longevity.

Someone mentioned about shipping was off. If the shipping was off it wasn't because of Golden, it was the logistics company. Once a product is in the hands of logistics, Golden has completed their fulfillment. I have never ever had any issues whatsoever due to product quality or customer service.

I placed a large order through US Medical Supplies: 2 x Golden lift chairs (1 in stock, 1 builder), 2 x side tables, and 2 x white glove delivery. I absolutely had to have the in stock chair by 7 November when my father had his hip replacement surgery. I was told it would arrive no later than 1 Nov. When it didn't show I called to learn they were holding the in-stock chair until the builder was complete. US Medical Supplies got that addressed with Golden and I was given a new delivery estimate as no-later than 7 November. The chair didn't arrive again. Called to learn a new estimate of 11 November with white glove available the week after that. Bottom line: After thousands of dollars and hours of time, my father is going to be discharged from the hospital and come home with nothing to sit on. I am extremely unhappy with this company.

I call US Medical Supplies daily for an update and they tell me that it is the freight company holding things up. The freight company is contracted to Golden. US Medical Supplies tells me they're trying to get Golden's help to expedite the chair, but Golden isn't helping. To compound the issue, I was told the builder chair isn't scheduled to ship until 1 December after originally receiving an estimate of before Thanksgiving.

DO NOT order from this company. I realize US Medical Supply is a vendor, but obviously Golden isn't working with them to produce and ship their products in a timely manner. Get a Lazy Boy which you can have customized and will show up in exactly the same amount of time. DO NOT believe the lies this company tells you about delivery.

I work at a retirement community. I see first hand that Golden scooters and chairs are both great help to people who need them. The company continues to make design improvements and the products have good warranty coverage.

The last piece of furniture that my mother had me buy for her before her death was A Golden Technologies Power Lift and Recline Chair. She had 4th stage cancer and used this chair during the last months of her life until until she was confined to her bed. The power lift chair made if easy for her to get out of the chair and the many positions available by push button technology was helpful in managing her pressure sores. An excellent chair made by a 5 star company.

Bought a buzz around last June, in August put a transaxle in lasted one day, traded scooter.November another axle, February another axle. Now in May here we go again

Lift chairs are OK. Controls are mounted on a long wire rather than being built into the arm of the chair. The control housing is not designed to long survive being dropped, something all but impossible to avoid. Poor design and poor execution.

MAJOR ISSUE
They refuse to sell parts direct forcing one to go through their dealer network, who will mark up and place the part order for drop shipping from the manufacturer.

Likely won't ever buy another chair but if I do, I will look long and hard for another source.

Unable to get anyone to answer the phone . Absolutely no customer service what so ever.

Golden technologies has always been supportive of our purchases. I believe it's what happens after a sale that gives you an indication of how customer oriented a company really is. Golden has always exceeded our expectations.

Had a serious problem with there merchandise that I payed cash for and I was still under warranty and they are giving me no respect so now I have to go to a lawyer.
