We bought a Golden Techologies MaxiComforter 505 lift chair. Total waste of my money. The chair may have infinite positions but does not have one where you can sit fairly upright with your legs extended to watch tv or participate in a conversation. My lazy boy manual rocker recliner at least allows me to do that! I bought the chair for my brother. He never told me it had this problem because he didn't want to seem ungrateful. It wasn't until I sat in it while he went to a doctor's appointment that I discovered how uncomfortable this chair is. It made me sore after sitting in it for 15 minutes. We have called Golden Technologies thinking the chair might be broke since the back automatically reclines quite a bit when you lift the leg lift, but they said that is how it is made so there is nothing they can do. When I put the leg rest down, the lift mechanism in the chair threw me forward so I could not even sit in it like a normal chair. I would never recommend this chair to anyone. And since I don't have the money to replace this chair with another type or brand, it is my brother that must suffer. He has severe edema in his legs and needs the leg rest, and because he has back problems is unable to sleep in a regular bed for more than a couple of hours. He needed this chair badly. Both I and my pocketbook are sorry it it didn't live up to our expectations.
