Enjoyed the atmosphere up at the penthouse. Weird...
Enjoyed the atmosphere up at the penthouse. Weird that one of the bathroom stalls also has a shower. Wish the deck outside had some sort of heating element, it was windy up there.

This part of town is a must see great shops every thing redone and place to eat come visit meat packers village lol
The Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC Hotel is a luxury hotel located at 18 Ninth Avenue between Little West 12th Street and 13th Street in the Meatpacking District neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. The hotel is blocks away from the Hudson River, the High Line, the Whitney Museum of Art and the Chelsea Market. It has great rooms and facilities including a 45-foot heated outdoor pool open year-round. All of these added with a very attentive staff made this stay truly amazing. Thanks!
Pool was nice enough if dirty. Music was good. Sauna was amazing.
Great place to stay when visiting New York if you decide to stay and they Meatpacking District
This place is like lost in the early 2000s (including the music/ambience) and is REALLY tragic. Took one million years to get the check for our overpriced drinks on a lousy rooftop. Champagne was served in PLASTIC. Tacky. Skip it. As a matter of fact just stay away from the Meatpacking District altogether. But we already knew that now didn t we?
Very sophisticated and pleasant hotel in a very good NYC neighborhood
I love this place. Such cool rooms, free pouring bartenders, and the location is perfect. You can go for a run down the financial district along the river, and the gym is not horrible. And maybe it's just me, but everyone who stays there is super cool. Like, old money Euro-cool.
Great location, so much to do and see. The drinks were a little expensive but nothing crazy for NY standards. Great atmosphere and great staff
Inconsistent. The hotel is in a remarkable location, but they are resting on that to charge high prices without matching service or attention to detail.
For it's location and price, it did not meet expectations. The staff is friendly but the room had many things broken or completely missing.
When asking for an ice pack for an injury throughout the trip it arrived 5 different ways, usually just ice in a bucket, often without a bag. The air conditioner was not very effective and our entire closet door was missing. One room had a nice sound system but no clock, the other no sound system at all. An egregious lack of outlets, even on the desk.
It appears there isn't a consistent standard the staff is trained to and it's all reactionary. Sad to say we wouldn't return.
Truly an incredible experience here. I usually visit this hotel in many of my travel destinations.
Chic, central, and spacious (for Manhattan). Multiple on site bars and restaurants. If visiting in the summer checkout the rooftop. Exhale spa and fitness center one level below the lobby. Staff is always attentive and helpful. The hair styling tools are far better than most other hotels (a nice blow dryer and flat iron); certainly helps with packing.
Clubs small and packed. Overrated. Overpriced. Otherwise, they are nice looking and still like of the place to go for twenty or thirty somethings looking for a night out
Cool spot for a photo shoot on the roof by the pool
Terrible. Worst hotel we have stayed in. Stuffy rooms, at 25 degrees constantly without the heating on, that couldn't be cooled down unless the noisy window was open. Lumpy pillows. Hard bed. All grey and dismally painted inside. Depressing and cramped. Low pressure shower and bath combo. Fridge didn't work. Don't bother!
Located in a fashionable area. Close to Chelsea so you can walk to galleries and restaurants on foot. Rooms have high ceilings and a coffee maker. There was a sofa and the bath dub was tangled deep and clean. Amenity was L'Occitane.
Still one of my favorites to start the night at. Cocktails are a bit pricy but with one of the best views in Lower Manhattan, you get what you pay for.
Rooms are small, but the rooftop bar and the fact you're right in the middle of the meat packing district are what has made me stay here multiple times. Pricey even by NYC standards though.
Convenient location, comfortable room and friendly staff. One of my favorite places to stay in New York!
Grabbed a very quick drink before catching a bus out of town so my impression/review is limited. Drinks aren't cheap, service was ok, but it wasn't particularly busy.
No variety in music even after requesting a few different songs/artists. Tequila with club soda is $20! In the smallest glass ever, these people are something else. The view is nice though.
We ate and drank at the Chester... Which was tons of fun! It was quiet since it was July 4th, but was a relaxed but attentive ambience with pretty tasty food, and very tasty drinks. Recommended
Very nice hotel. Comfortable rooms. The bar at the roof top offers a spectacular view over the Hudson although it is a bit pricy.
These guys denied our media request and it was during an off weak. NOT A FAN!!! For shame Gansevoort, you can run the biggest media junkie of a hotel and then deny a local publications media request. We will never stay or promote a Gansevoort hotel again!
It's no longer a club it's a lounge ,,,, the owners killed one of the best spot in NYC very stupid move.
Very nice casual dining bar. The upstairs, bar is where we had a social event which was quite comfortable.
Room is small but has everything I need. No complaints.
Great except for the room being filled with extra tat they are hoping you'll buy...
It's the second time we stay in the Gansevoort. It is prime located just opposite the Chelsey Market and the High Line. We had a problem with our camera and staff were very very helpful. Like it.
Nice rooftop and view, however drinks weren't what I was expecting.
The rooftop is amazing and the people taking care of it are too.
If you are French speak to 'marco' at the entrance and you will be treated like royalty
Beautiful hotel, cool vibe. They pay attention to all the little details and create a nice home-away-from-home. Can t wait to go back.
Swanky hotel rooftop that has different sections. Nice for large groups and to chill. Don't expect speakeasy-like cocktails.
Good view. King plus sofa bed room was tiny. Couldn't increase air-conditioning. Interiors seem dated.
The front desk staff was nice and friendly. The room was nice and clean. Decent tub to soak in. Bathroom is a bit dated but it still had nice amenities and function. The staff around the hotel bar was a bit aloof. I get it, it's dead, they were having a bit of fun, listening to music and we were the only ones there on a Sunday night. We wanted to have some drinks and watch the viking/eagles game but they wouldn't turn on the sound on any of the TV's. We were first sent up to the roof top bar, they had the game on but no sound, plus there were four couples in there making out. So, we went back to the lobby... The inside beer garden bar had a tv, and was totally empty. We stood there for a few minutes waiting but no bartender came to serve us and none of the four people around the lobby bar area asked if we wanted to have a drink in there. We ordered a drink at the lobby bar and watched the game through the plastic windows of the outdoor part of the beer garden. We noticed one of the stools was literally falling apart, it had a giant hole in the seat with the bottom hanging down and mice were running around in the enclosed outdoor part. We finished our drink and went to a neighborhood bar to drink and watch.
Fab part of town in the '19... VERY different from what I remember in the 80s!
Great hotel in a good location. Good rooms, well finished and comfortable. Good breakfast with friendly service.
So awesome, pool was great, bar was great, awesome location. Perfect for pride!
well its getting dated but it has a good bar and rooftop pool
The staff were great, the ambient setting was fun and the all in all experience was fun
Great hotel. Nice rooftop pool. But a little disappointed by the service. I came early, and they weren't able to check me in before 3pm. Handled poorly.
Cheesey hotel with awful cross at night. Tourist heavy and extremely expensive
The location is great and everything you could need is a short walk or can ride away. The view from basically anywhere in the hotel is great.
[Rooftop Review] - The bar is (like most rooftops) unnecessarily expensive, but the view makes it easy to suck up the punch to your credit card. Worth heading to the West Side of the roof where some better seating options are available, even though you can't see the river.
Extremely slow and inconsistent service. Food and drinks are incredibly expensive but not good
My number 1 choice to stay in the area... only complaint is that they don't have a loyalty program.
I didn't stay at the room but neighborhood was great
Great for eating ...site seeing shopping and night life the meatpacking has it all .... depending on the hour of the day
It doesn't matter how much the view wows you the drinks prices will astound you.Out of control. $36 for 2 mediocre drinks and $6 minimum tip.Ouch!!And they say London is pricey.
My stay at the gansevoort was amazing. The rooms were were very nice. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The location. Was convenient as there were many restaurants and shops nearby. Anytime we needed anything the staff there were very prompt. I would stay there again.
Good location for my trip with incredible staff. Don't be put off by the construction as the hotel is in great shape. Trendy hotel but still comfortable and has amazing shower pressure. Another great benefit was the wonderful toiletries by L'Occitane.
The location is perfect - although to be honest avoid the place during Fashion Week if going for work. It's located nearby all event after-hour parties. Even the hotel holds its own party.
Additionally for price, room feels a little on the cheap-side, as it could possible be a more comfortable bed
