Pure & Simply Gourmet Review

The bread is great, the egg salad was just your basic egg salad, nothing special. What really made me rate this 2 stars is that both desserts I and my lunch date got were more than likely spoiled. She got the coconut cream pie and i got the blueberry buckle and just the smell alone worried me and where she got a few bites of the pie down down I couldn't even get one down. Gordon Ramsey would be disappointed and just be glad I'm nicer than him.

Great place. GO! You can't leave Lake Placid without trying Simply, or their other deli on Main Street (Big Mountain). You can choose from 5 different homemade breads, 46 different types of sandwiches, countless salads, soups, and baked goods!

Best breakfast sandwich in town and veritable steal when you consider it's the equivalent of an entire breakfast plate on a sandwich.

on Aug 20th ordered lunch for family while on vacation; was told it would take over an hour - canceled the order and ate somewhere else; they still charged us. Family friend we went there with having exact same problem. Called them twice - informed them of the erroneous charge - was told the charge would be rescinded but they have not done so - now 2 weeks after the fact. Am in process of disputing through credit card company. Called owner again (Holly) third time -- another worker Chris Smith remembers the incident and can attest to the error. Owner claims she will "take care of it" but really just keeps giving the run around asking for the "order number" (?? who keeps the small receipt of a canceled order from 2 weeks ago?). Hoping credit card company come through as I am making no progress trying to talk directly to owner.

Delicious! Not surprised that this is a sister shop of the big mountain deli in town. Both are excellent! This deli is slightly out of the way and less cramped than the deli in town, which was nice. There is even a trail out back, we took our pupper for a nice long walk after a great meal :D

We went there strictly for milkshakes and they more than met our expectations. We asked for thick and they were thick! I had the pumpkin and the hubby had chocolate peanut butter and both were scrumptious. The pumpkin was like sipping a slice of pumpkin pie through a straw. Fantastic!

Always come here for lunch and the selection of sandwiches is amazing! Always fresh, and can get extremely busy so expect to wait during peak lunch hours.

They won't let you place an order. The phone is disconnected, online ordering only lets you place an order for the next day. Horribly frustrating

We came here for their local cheese selection from the North Country and were not disappointed. Charming and friendly staff.

Amazing breakfast!!! Got a burrito and a sandwich that were a generous size and grilled to perfection. Well done!

So inconsistent. Random closures. Just lack of customer service. Bring back the old Simply Gourmet!

Have come here several times and they have always made a great sandwich! They offer Gluten Free options with good labels. They ask if the request is for a preference or allergy and take the appropriate precautions! Great place!

It s usually my favorite place but I just got the sandwich that I always get and there s the worlds smallest bit of cheese on it and the wrong mustard lathered all over it which makes the sandwich kind of gross. It s worth trying out, I m just hoping I got unlucky with my sandwich and it s not a new trend

Amazing sandwiches, staff and prices!!!! They had a very large selection of hot and cold sandwiches that are all handmade to order. We had the pick three ( cold plate) with chicken, tuna, and potato salad and I also got a side of mac salad. All were very fresh and flavorful!!! My husband had the hot pastrami sandwich, he was in heaven. Hunks and I mean 1" slices of pastrami layered on rye with a delicious mustard. He also had the pastrami poutine with was a perfect combo with the smoked meat. The kids had a chopped salad which was large and whole ham sub. We did have some trouble using our card and had to go to the atm, but they were very apologetic and gave the kiddos some cookies. We will definitely return again on our vacations.

This tremendously popular local eatery features overpriced, mediocre deli food that people LOVE. You'll probably love it too, but I think the joint is... Meh.

Good sandwiches and soups some good deserts to follow, little pricy, but its placid and what you might expect in that regard

Though the baked goods looked tasty, our breakfast plate for the price, was Simply not a good bang for our buck, substandard quality poorly executed. We actually visited their crepe and sandwich shop on Main street as well, the quality of the sandwiches were Ok but the crepes could have had more of the filling for the price paid, we will not vist any of their shops in the future

Try the smoked salmon with the caper lemon mayo. Delish!

The sandwiches are freshly made with your choice of bread. We ordered 3 different sandwiches and they were all delicious. We shared a cup of Jalepeno Cheddar soup with homemade croutons and it was very tasty. Suggest the maple or pesto Mayo. We would definitely come back to try another of the 43 sandwiches offered.

You can close your eyes and point to anything on the menu board, order it, and you ll love it. I ve had at least half of their sandwiches and all were delicious. Prices are a bit steep but the quality is there. Best sandwich shop around imo.

I ve never had a bad meal here! Come here anytime I go hiking! Love this place highly recommend

What w cannot say enough about this place ! Love love everything about Simply Gourmet! Salads sandwiches and anything you get from here is fresh and amazing and they even have gluten free bread

They were very busy as usual but they get the food out and it's always quality. Love, love, love the lemon bars!
