Staff was nice. Rooms are great. I will stay here again.

The hotel, itself, is welcoming and the neighborhood is terrific. The rooms, with pleasant decor are not as private as we hoped. We had a grand deluxe mini-suite. We heard conversations from the adjoining room which continued to 5am. Not able to sleep because of what we believed are "thin walls", we changed rooms finally at 5:15am. Not a pleasant experience. This was an unfortunate incident of noisy neighbors and poor insulation. But the scripted service employees were not able to think "outside the box" to make a mishap condition into a more positive experience. I welcome the opportunity to give this hotel another chance. We love the location but we are reluctant to stay here because the staff couldn't satisfactory respond to the unusual.

Nice hotel but no breakfast included, and not even a bottle of water. Everything is extra. Wi-fi doesn't work straightforward on Android phones...

Spent the night for my 30th birthday. Very clean & the staff is super nice & friendly. Blasted music & got no complaints. Perfect girls night hotel

Very good roof top with a good choice of alcohol. And you don t have to queue to get in. So worth a try!

No longer the hipster magnet, the Gansevoort has settled into something more understated and gracious. Location can't be beat for those of us prefer to stay below 23rd Street. Lovely and a personal favorite.

Beautiful hotel pool. I just visited, but I'd have an event here if I had the budget.

This is 5star??? horrible, the decoration in the room is really really nasty taste. It is only good if you want party and only party.
try to avoid whenever you can.

Beautiful hotel with many unique details and decor. I even had a roof terrace !! The Rooftop bar is also fantastic, even if you are not staying there.

Fantastic location if you want to be in the Meatpacking District. Rooms are modern and well equipped. Lobby is modern and pretty. During the day the lobby bar was very family friendly and kids were able to use the pool table with problems. The upstairs pool feels more like a nightclub, which it essentially is during evenings. Would be nice to separate the spaces a bit more so it's more comfortable for children. Otherwise, make that clear in the description. We had a problem with our room (carpets were still damp after shampooing) and they were so full they could not move us to another. They were super nice about it but it was disappointing. Why shampoo the carpets when you have a full house? #letsguide

Let s put it this way! They would rather a dog get in the pool than a black person! Wanna feel racism at its peak in nyc stay here for a 1940s type experience

Room is a bit small, but perfect for one person.
The AC wasn't doing a great job. Couldn't make the temperature going lower than 72-73 degrees.

Amazing rooms, facilities and location, really close to the amazing Chelsea Market

The bar is good, although quite expensive. It is made worth it by the view! Well worth going in for a drink just for that.

We hosted a several hundred person rooftop event here with awesome views and enough room to mingle, especially on the balcony. However, way understaffed with only 2 bartenders for such a big crowd arriving at a set time.

Nice view, drinks are pretty expensive, but you are paying for the environment.

Rundown property, reported multiple problems with my room during my 2 days stay and was ignored. Don t waste your money go somewhere else.

The hotel was okay but we were expecting more as we heard that all hotels from the group are great.

The location is amazing, many restaurants and bars to go for a drink. The subway station was close to the hotel.

Fine spot. The waitress never ignored me a while, I had to go ask at the bar to ask the waitress to cone take orders for our group outside. The place was not busy at all.

Some coworkers of mine and I went to hang out at there rooftop lounge. We hand a great time. Beautiful people, great music, and awesome view. While we stepped out to see the view and return to our table someone stoled our bottle of whiskey. The management team was able to take care of the situation and were more than accommodating. This is why they get 5 STARS!

Considering that this is Manhattan, I found the Gansevoort located in a nice and qiet area. The rooms are perfect size and nicely designed. Nice Italian coffee machine ILLY (chargeable at $2). Very good free internet connection. Nice design

Nice location, good hotel, tiny rooms but that s NYC right? The upper level bar was nice. Spa was phenomenal.

Overall the experience was brilliant and enjoyed our weekend getaway a lot. I will definitely stay there again.

- Clean.
- Dark and hip, feels like a nightclub (which is what the roof is).
- Did not experience noise problem from the roof in my 10th floor room which some other guests mentioned.
- House service is fairly early (~9 AM?) so put out the "Do not disturb" card if that's not after your wake-up time.
- Every dusk (~6-7 PM), a woman knocks to offer ice/tomorrow's forecast card.

Big stylish rooms. Clubby neon lobby, which wasn't to my liking but good for people who want to socialize. Large windows in the hotel room made it fairly noisy (lots of sirens at night, cabs honking - not ideal for light sleepers). They put too much "stuff" in the room, for purchase...beauty products, dollar have club razor, massager duck?!, stuffed animal, food/water. Still, a comfy bed, plenty of room, nice TV, free apples/oranges at reception and an espresso machine in the room for morning caffeine needs. Great location, lobby staff are very nice and they checked my hotel key each night before I entered the elevators, which made me feel safe.

Tacky decor, upscale pretense with shoddy implementation. Showerhead sprayed water all over the place, shower fixture tile cutouts are visible. Looks like the place was put together on the cheap. The place charges $9 for a bottle of water to boot.

Cheap, garish room deco. Old fashioned shower. Irritating music in the lobby. Poor value for money.

Upgraded to a corner suite - the room was clean and amenities were quite new. Nicely situated in the meatpacking / Chelsea market area. Liked all the interactions with front line staff.

Very nice, comfortable room. Extremely noisy due to location. I stayed on the 6th floor facing 9th ave and cars were constantly honking and I couldn't sleep. I know it is NYC and all, but it was pretty bad. Finally after midnight I brought out my big noise-cancelling headphones and got some relief. Then I woke up to jack-hammering at 7:30am.

Great location close to Chelsea Market. Spacious and modern bedroom setup. Depending where you're room is, you may hear alot of outside noise (clubs, people yelling on the street, police sirens, etc). The sound will be muffled down to a reasonable level but if you're a light sleeper then maybe bring some earplugs if you're staying over the weekend.

Don't even bother spending a penny at that place. They pick n choose who could go up to roof top. intention is to give them business however they are not worth it. too over rated .

My go to hotel in Meatpacking. Great rooms. In the summer the rooftop pool and bar are unbeatable.

Nice hotel in a fantastic location, at the intersection of Chelsea, West Village, and Greenwich Village, right near Chelsea Market and the High Line as well as lots of hip stores, cafes, and bars. There's a really nice rooftop lounge with panoramic views and lots of funky indoor and outdoor seating.
My room was modern, super clean, very comfortable, and pretty spacious for NYC. Hotel was well staffed and the service was great - the doorpeople, front desk staff, and cleaning staff were all excellent and very friendly. The service in the rooftop lounge could be improved.

Amazing experience and excellent customer service...specifically by Lauren at the front desk. I was spending the night with my sisters....it was a late birthday celebration. On getting there we found out that the rooms reserved for us was very far apart. She were not pleased with this...but she fixed it on the spot. Getting us in a different room than what we wanted...but close and complimentary drinks. That was the start of an amazing night in NY.

Also, we didnt know this before booking but there is a club at the rooftop. This made life easy for us as we didnt have to drive anywhere. No, u cant hear the music in the rooms. We had an amazing time and it was the perfect location. Thanks Gansevoort and thanks Lauren.

Have been a fan of the Gansevoort for more than a decade. Love the location, accommodations, staff, amenities and proximity to the boutiques and restaurants in the area. Very easy for my friends to visit as we stroll across to the Chelsea Market. Love It!!!

The bar smelled like a dirty bar. NYC Dept of Health grade of B was hidden behind a hostess table. Good drinks, pool table, outdoor seating, upscale atmosphere. You can do better.

Probably the nicest hotel I've been to. Everything was immaculate.

Location is perfect for work as our office is close. More importantly, accommodations are top notch and staff is incredibly friendly and gracious.

I used to spend tons of time here and I have such fun memories of dancing my new york city nights away. Drinks are way overpriced.

Went here for a bachlorette party. Definitely has a certain vibe that I don't think I totally liked (loud, obnoxious), but the room was cute, spacious, and bright. And you can't beat the location!
